I've been by three times to fix a various items, an older iPhone which needed a new battery, an iPad which had a shattered screen, and a rare battery operated toy with a weird battery that I could not figure out how to replace. He did an amazing job with the phone and the iPad. As for the toy, going in I wasn't even sure if he could fix it and in the end, he could not. But he did give me lots of good advice which sent me in the right direction. Really appreciated that. Overall definitely a guy that you want to keep in your contact list. Not a great experience at this shop. I left my iPhone for a repair and was told to come back in an hour and a half. When I returned, nothing had been done to my phone. Moreover, before I left, they had confirmed they had the parts they needed to fix it but then did not. At that point, they did the part of the repair that they could do and told me I would have to leave a deposit for them to order the parts which was replacement lenses for the camera. They quoted me $65 for each one. Lucky for me they didn't have it in stock because I took it somewhere else and had them done for $30 complete. Microsoft replaces it for 150, they charged me 260 and have absolutely 0 lines of communication letting me know if it's even been so much as looked at yet. THIS SHOULD BE A NO STAR REVIEW!! DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER & BRING ANYTHING HERE!! My new iPhone 14 stopped responding to screen taps in late Feb. I brought it to this store expecting a diagnosis & repair estimate only from young guy named Connor. Later, a guy with an accent called to say it was done & I should come pick it up. When I got there, no one was at the front. After waiting, that same guy asked for over $200, when the younger guy who said he was the tech & an Apple expert had said the diagnosis was free. I asked what the diagnosis was & why I was being charged so much. He began yelling, his English was hard to understand & his rage at my questions seemed like he had "mental problems". He refused to show or return my fairly new, never dropped, not water damaged phone unless I paid him first. I politely asked to speak with the tech. He got him to come to the front. This kid held my phone, wouldn't show it to me or explain why a free diagnosis without any repairs done would cost over $200. I started to call my husband to meet me there & as I finished the call, the kid showed me my phone - he'd broken the screen he said when he tried to open it for tests. I asked why he didn't pay for what damage he'd done (I have photos my son took of the outside of the phone before I brought it in & a video clip showing its only problem - not responding to fingertip taps. I said I was not paying for a free diagnosis when this kid (Connor) broke my phone's screen & they couldn't hold my phone hostage. My husband came in, saw them both and asked for the store's owner. The tech said to call the next Sunday, the "boss" was Alex. But he'd been told and he'd advised the guy with the accent to demand money & not release my phone unless it was paid first. He started yelling at my husband, cursing, being out of control. When my husband demanded the phone sternly, the tech gave it to him. In our car, we called the police. We both drove to the local police station & filed a report there. We have never been treated so abusively anywhere in Boca like this. Verbal abuse, refusing to return my property which had been damaged by the so-called tech/Apple expert. We've gone to other UBreakIFix stores before in other places & this one is being run into the ground, under the owner's instructions & his employee (one with the accent, getting into a physical altercation with my husband needs help & to be let go. He's mentally unbalanced, as the police officer said.) STAY AWAY! Owner is a crook, clerk with accent is violent & dangerous, blackmailed me with his boss's approval - all should mean he's fired. We've pressed charges & we're contacting Asurion, the parent company. DON'T GO TO THIS STORE! read more

Total disappointment. I hate starting off 2023 with a one star review. TLDR version: this guy is combative, doesn't stand by his own 90day warranty, does poor/incomplete repairs and will string you along fixing an old device. If you decide to do business with him, expect to be gaslit/chided and poor customer service. He will change his story to CYA and make you WRONG any way he can. Do research yourself on whether or not it's worth fixing an old device bc you don't want to throw good $ after bad. More details I wish I trusted my gut when dealing with this guy. I found him to be oddly combative in nature from the beginning but figured I only have to deal with the guy to get my lap top fixed. Not every business person is a "people person." I dropped my laptop back in Oct and it cracked the screen. Brought it to the store to see about getting it fixed. The man that works at the shop (I think he is the owner) told me to leave the computer for 2-3 day to diagnose the problem. Then called to tell me what was wrong what it would cost, asked for a 50% deposit, and told me it would take 1-2 weeks to order the part (new screen). Bc I needed my computer and it still worked fine (crack affected just a small section of the touch screen), I did not want to leave it until the part came in. This was oddly a point of discontent with him. He wanted to keep the computer. I told him I would bring it back as soon as the part was in and he reluctantly let me keep it. I would think that someone that works on devices that are vital to our modern day lives would appreciate that someone needs their device. My husband picked up the computer and when I saw it the screen was indeed fixed but the computer was not closing properly. I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK ASAP but the computer worked and I put it off. Little over 2 mths later the hinge came clean out of the screen/lid. My husband brought the computer back in. The guy was immediately defensive and denied ANY wrong doing. I was on speaker to tell what happened when I tried to close it and that the laptop never really closed properly after his "repair" in late Oct. He 1st said it was wear and tear. Then he accused me of dropping the computer again. Then he said it was a separate issue from the cracked screen. He used an analogy (this guy loves to talk down to customers) that if you bring in a car to a repair shop to fix the brakes, if there is an issue with the steering column also, that just fixing the brakes will not fix the two separate issues. This is my problem. Here is where the conflict is and I would ask yourself dear reader to take this in account. Who brings ANYTHING that is broken and not working properly to a PRO to fix it and expects that they will only fix what you, the non pro, thinks needs to be fixed? We all rely on PROS to PROPERLY diagnose and advise so that you can make an informed decision on whether or not it is worth fixing. Most of the time, if a computer is older, it's more cost effective to just buy a new one. If I knew back in Oct that my computer needed $450 worth of repairs, I'd just buy a new one. So, we have a half fixed computer and he wants more time and $ to fix fix the computer. Bc the issue is not the screen itself that he replaced, he feels his "90 day warranty" has no application. When I brought up the fact that he did not thoroughly fix the computer and the fault in his logic, he just walked away and into the back of his store. This is pretty immature and not professional to just walk away but I guess it is effective in getting rid of disgruntled customers. We took it to another place and they were resistant to fix it bc "someone else touched it" and I understand. If this guy stood by his own warranty and work we would not be in this pickle. I understand if there is another issue that requires another part that I'd have to pay for but he should've worked with us on the labor bc he did not fix fix it the 1st time. A "90 warranty" is only a warranty when the person that gives it stands by THEIR work and good business practices. Save yourself the time, grief and most of all $ and take your broken device somewhere else. read more

I went in to get my son's iPad fixed Tuesday but they didn't have the part. Saturday, I called, gave my # and they told me "there's a lot of corrosion..." Problem is, I still had my iPad? I'm guessing it's like the "you need a new car filter" thing at auto-shops. My daughter had an incredible experience at this establishment so I thought I should share. My daughter is young and is used to getting taken advantage of when needing quotes for any kind of service. This was not the case here. When she arrived she was greeted by Alex and explained her issue of not being able to hear people when they call and figured she would definitely need a new phone.
