**Beware: This Place Will Strip Your iPhone for Parts - Bordering on Criminal Behavior!** I brought my iPhone in for what should have been a simple lens glass replacement. Instead, the technician here damaged the original lens and swapped it for an entirely non-Apple, aftermarket part without any disclosure. Claiming it was "good as new," they were grossly negligent. And it didn't end there--they even replaced the display with a cheap, non-Apple screen. Why on earth would you replace the lens assembly *and* the display for a minor glass issue? Worse, these are not even Apple parts! After realizing something was wrong, I took my phone to an Apple Store. The technicians confirmed my phone had been harvested for parts, leaving me with low-quality aftermarket replacements. This shop took a perfectly functioning iPhone Pro Max and gutted it for parts, delivering it back in worse shape than before. This is beyond unprofessional--it's outright shady. I'm seriously considering filing a police report. Apple's verification that the display and camera assembly were replaced without authorization is deeply concerning. How many other customers are falling victim to this scam? I cannot recommend this location and hold them accountable for the extensive damage they caused. I stopped by this privately operated cellphone tech and accessories shop because it is in my neighborhood, in a strip center close to Mizner Park. I'm in that center every week as there are a few food stores I frequent and my husband started getting his hair cut at one of the shops that attract young guys with fancy cuts. He doesn't have that much hair on his head - but let me not diverge. I met the owner, who is also the technician (per his business card), MEHRAN, and he was a friendly welcoming guy. We were looking at simple iPhone cases as my husband had to have a new case NOW. Part of the reason for that is that his old case was falling apart and rather than wait to replace with a new one, he tossed it. And he was walking around with what I call a "nude" iPhone. No case. Just an iPhone in its natural state. Shiny. Slippery. Very slippery. So he was directed to the selection of OtterBox on display. And there were quite a few for his older model phone. None of the cases had prices posted. When I asked how much it was and the response was $45, and my counter response was "wow, that's way too expensive, you can get it on Amazon way less" And not unexpected, Mr MEHRAN did not react too well. And I understand why. Amazon had been the grim reaper of millions of small businesses across the USA. Frankly, I don't know ow how most of them survive, especially with Amazon increasing their same day delivery service. Well we patronized our local cell phone tech/accessories store and bought a protective cover. Not an OtterBox. But one that was around $20. And we felt we did a good deed. I went home and purchased the OtterBox being sold for $45 for $23 and it was delivered the following morning at 4AM. I love my local small business. They are there to serve glue IMMEDIATE NEEDS, and for that one must pay a premium. Such is life, boys and girls. read more
