I used Uber during the holidays to get a ride from Westlake Center to Downtown Kirkland. The ride was at midnight so the bus was not a good option. The cost was $25.00, $20 of that was free for my first time ride (If you need a coupon similar to this, private message me). Even if I had paid $25, it was a fair price. I had a ride within 5 mins and the app showed me a picture of the driver and his license plate number for safety. The drive was polite, efficient and took the best route available. For anyone complaining about the cost, remember to use the fare estimate option available. If you are complaining about surge pricing, remember you accepted this price and agreed to pay the cost before you took the ride. If surge pricing is in place, I do strongly encourage you to vote with your dollars and use Lyft, a taxi or Aces town car service instead. I would have taken the Uber directly from the airport; however, the Port Authority restricts what cars can pick up at the airport (anyone can drop off). A trick is to take a hotel shuttle (any of the many available) and catch the Uber from there or take light rail to a transit hub like Westlake. I stopped using Uber last year after numerous issues with drivers not knowing the rules of road. Drivers who are hired by Uber should have more than a basic understanding of the rules of the road. They should be professional drivers with a vast understanding of not only the rules of the road, but the flow and layout of the city of Seattle. Unfortunately that has not been my experience with this company. I've had more than 4 experiences where an Uber driver drove the wrong way down a one-way street. I've had 2 experiences where an Uber driver didn't know he was on a two-way street and drove into the left lanes/oncoming traffic to make a left turn. I can't even tell you how many times my drivers have blocked pedestrian AND vehicle traffic with the right of way when trying to make a green light. There is absolutely no reason your car should be in a crosswalk. I've experienced run red lights, incomplete stops, illegal right-hand turns that almost resulted in hitting pedestrians, etc. On top of all that--it was so rare to get a driver who had any experience driving or navigating high-traffic zones of the downtown area. In a city like Seattle with traffic issues like Seattle, you NEED to know where to go and the best way to get there. Bottomline, you're putting your life in the hands of any rideshare driver, taxi, bus driver, you ride with. I prefer to stick with the drivers who understand the basics of the road and driving. And if you prove to me that your drivers are inadequate over and over again, I'm not sticking around to pay the ultimate price. read more

Never ever take Uber in Seattle Washington. They quoted 13 dollars for a three mile drive. We were billed $150. The driver said we vomited in his car. We are two old ladies going from our hotel to a cruise terminal at 10 am. I think the driver would have mentioned that during the ride if it were true. The billing detail had 5 different surcharges added to it and none of them said anything about a mess in the car. Uber refused to reverse the charges or even discus it on the phone. Stay away from Uber Seattle. I have not had this problem in any other area drivers. This is fraud. read more

While I was trying to book my ride from Seattle airport to Bellevue, I made sure I book uber pool and not the regular uber and did the same. To my surprise, the car assigned to me was not a pool and was a regular uberX!!! If I had known this, I would have taken the shuttle from the airport which would have costed me way less than what it has costed me now !!! My suggestion to the passengers would be to not to just depend on Uber but also look for other options. Very unsatisfied with both Uber and Lyft drivers, as a whole, in Seattle. Without exception, you have to come to THEM. They can never find you. We got more exercise running to where the Uber and Lyft drivers were than actually walking around the city. And they don't know the streets, they don't know what events are going on (like football, for Pete's sake!), so what should be a 10 minute drive is always 30. Drivers park in the street while they wait for you instead pulling into your readily available parking lot so you don't have to wheel your luggage 20 feet in the muck to get to them. Driver conveniently waits til after they've popped the trunk and you've already loaded your luggage to get out and help you. Then conveniently gets off downtown instead of taking you directly to your destination and manages to nearly get into an accident while merging back onto the freeway they never should've exited in the first place. Price surges price gouge people. Vehicles smell like marijuana from the driver (not the passengers) and drivers often speed over 70 mph. And there's no customer service number for immediate assistance. Driver canceled on me, and the only way I found out was that I pulled my phone out to look at it, and I saw the U on my phone notifications. And the notification said driver had canceled on me, undoubtedly because he didn't want to accept the short drive, and that if I still wanted a ride to schedule another one. Did they think my need for a ride just disappeared because their driver canceled? As soon as that driver canceled, they should have immediately found me another driver. read more

I'm finding a lot of mixed reviews here, and that's interesting. I used Uber for the first time, and I was really happy with the experience. For a run from Seatac airport to my home on Alki, it was actually a little cheaper than what I pay for a cab! The fact that the tip is already figured in is nice as well. The app said a car was 3 minutes away, and yes, he was there in 3 minutes! This is a really nice change from Orange and Stita cabs, where you ask for a pickup at a particular time, and they're usually quite late. The Uber app tells you how close the nearest car is! The car was clean and the driver professional and friendly. My only gripe was that once we got underway, he wanted to know how I wanted to get home. I thought, 'dude, don't you have a GPS and already know the traffic situation out there? It's late & I'm tired; I don't want to have to guide you turn-by-turn how to get to my townhouse. Just take me home'. On that count, they're no better nor worse than Yellow cab, but the quality of the car and driver was superior, and they were actually about ten bucks less than what a cab would cost me. read more

We were visiting from NYC. Uber was super convenient. I was surprised at the number of cars and speed. Everyone was nice (maybe we are just used to brash NYCers). We thought it was super affordable. We stayed in downtown and went mostly to Queen Anne, bell town and also went to university village once. Our hotel was a few blocks from the Link station. On the way in, we took that. On the way out we were tired so we took an Uber. It was surprisingly under $30 to SEA! -1 star: drivers don't follow your pickup point almost 50% of the time. -0.5 star: some drivers have smelly cars and don't drop you off at the right place. read more

I've been using uber service for the past week. My driver Abdallah from Jordan cancelled my trip. He couldn't find my driveway apparently. I messaged what it looks like from the street and then that i was walking down to main road. As i got to main road i saw him turn down the road across from me. He turned around i thought he was going to come across and get me but he went the other way and cancelled my trip. I was a bit irritated. If i could leave a review in his acct i would. But i cannot. Uber should really make it so we can. Anyway i thought it was really rude and he didn't say sorry or why. I was charged a cancellation fee because he cancelled that is B.S. i did dispute just a few minutes ago. They said the money would show back up in a few days. So that's good. We will see. We decided to use uber to get around in Seattle instead of rent a car. We always got a ride within minutes (5 min or less) no matter the time or area. There was a mix of drivers but the majority we noticed was either from Africa.. or China and the car of choice was all Toyota Prius....Using Uber instead of driving was awesome. No reading maps or getting loss. A very good experience and we will definetely consider Uber again when we travel in the future. read more

Do not use Uber or UberEats. Delete the app. Run far away. I ordered McDonald through Ubereats on Tuesday. PayPal processed it. My bank took the money out. The next day I try to use it again and the app hard stops me saying my payment was declined and I need to pay the McDonald's tab with another payment. I sent many screenshots and message through their "help" Module (of course no phone number to call) and Radika finally responds telling me my payment got declined despite proof otherwise and they want me to add yet another payment option to my account. I take Ubers to/from the Seattle airport many times per month. Your drivers picking up from SEATAC are becoming increasing unprofessional and unsafe. I routinely have drivers cancel my ride requests (presumably because I'm not going far enough) and when I do get a driver, they're often rude and drive like maniacs. My driver tonight blasted crappy music, refused to turn on the AC, and swerved across lanes multiple times on two occasions. If I wanted that experience I'd hire a taxi or just hitchhike. I just spent an hour of my life trying to call Uber to complain, but speaking to an actual person apparently isn't an option. Someone needs to fix this mess, it's out of control. read more

Used Uber for the first time on May 16th 2017. After signing up, handing over my credit card info and taking my first ride to board a cruise ship in Seattle for a trip to Alaska. The following day I apparently arrived in New York and started my spending spree. According to my credit card company someone at Uber is using my card to make purchases at Bloomingdale. But they must be really getting the bottom of the barrel drivers and by entering your destination prior to getting picked up, they cancel you out of an airport ride or further distance comes up. Today in Seattle, Japu, a driver, was taking more than the reported 7 minutes away. Called and he wouldn't pick up. Then he says he stuck on traffic at 830am on a Sunday, 7 minutes away. Then he texts he was in an accident, but refuses to cancel ride. The beauty of it all was I passed him in the lyft I ended up getting, on the side of the road. Waiting for a more expensive ride. This app is flawed it allows drivers the ability yo cancel at will after they find a more expensive ride. I just deleted the app and will only use lyft. read more

Hanging out at the Sub Pop Festival ran into the Uber booth. Inquired about the service, 3 minutes later my account was up and running. Super easy to use! My group decided to take the party to Ballard to finish the party. The ride was great, car was clean and the driver was very personable. All the things you would want with this type of service. The promotional coupon that we got from the booth shaved $50.00 off the $53.00 dollar ride! They also gave us a 50% coupon for the return trip. On our return, the car showed up within the est 3 min and swept us back to Georgetown in a fairly newer Chrysler 300. After dropping us off, someone in our group noticed their cell phone missing. We called the driver and about 5 minutes later the driver returned with the phone. Great experience! Slipped him some extra cash for his efforts. It's about Uber Eats.. I have given this company more chances then any other company. Not only have I received orders that did not properly have a seal on the food, but I would taste food slimy like something added, gross.. then some used companies that the seals were not used at all. I requested customer service help in regarding the 7th or 8th issue that I had over being charged on a canceled food order after waiting 2 hours in the first place to get a call said they canceled it, then I found unotherized charges for a few tips on my account. For the orders I never received. One for the canceled order they made, its not a lot at one look but after a few extras I noticed you really need to check your bank account because these charges add up.... I then spent hours doing their job as a customer service rep (Mitch) "accidentally" responded to a totally different account situation that had nothing to do with me!?!! While pretending to access my account and try to help me when really I was doing his job and he was being rude in his comments towards me to the point where I said enough is enough, explained they owed me refunds and explain to them I no longer will use their app because I'd had enough, it wasn't worth it not my hard-earned money. Also I found them put Uber cash in my account take it away to a company I never used. I asked that they explain it, by then I was asked to hold Again!! And to be transferred Again. Now I'd have to wait to be asked all that again, Tell them Again and I was expected to look up all the charges and show them proof again. I was telling them the truth.. I was told to show them proof I had, I did. On my day off I spent hours to go in my bank account and show them proof on charges they could have looked up themselves . The unauthorized charges on my account reguarding extra tip charges on my account were at a point when I explained to customer service "Mitch", I felt they should refund me, maybe even accommodate me in some way none of that was at all offered, I was then asked to hold longer so I could be transferred again and I said No, I'm done with them, I'm done. Warning to others check your bank statements!!! It's fine if you authorized a tip. but if your order was cancelled and you are still being charged for a tip when you received nothing from them all!! Never riding with Uber again. I ordered an Uber, I didn't know that there was a specific pick up spot and the driver never told me. I texted him exact instructions of where I was at in baggage claim. 10 minutes later, he calls me and asks me where I'm at. After I tell him that I'm exactly where I texted him I would be, he tells me to find someone that can tell me where the Uber pick up is. If you've been in the Seattle airport, you can't get from baggage claim to the pick up spot in 2 minutes. While I'm trying to get in the elevator, he calls me and asks me, "Are you coming or what?" He was rude so yes, I was rude right back. He then canceled and Uber charged me $5. When I asked for a refund they gave me a $5 credit instead lol. I've legit had it with Uber. As an extremely successful company that's been around for years now, I do not understand how they can still function without a system in place to properly oversee driver training and quality control. I cannot remember the last time I used Uber (at least in Seattle) that went smoothly. Every single time either I or one of my Airbnb guests has used them, one or more of the following has occurred: - The driver is completely unfamiliar with the area. - The driver ignores clear verbal instructions (or does not understand enough English to effectively communicate). - The driver does not know how to use/cannot follow the GPS system.* - The driver has become agitated/raised his voice when unable to follow simple instructions and/or the GPS. - The driver chooses a route using a street well-known to be heavily congested when time constraints are involved, and refuses to take a more efficient route when several are suggested (was actually faster to get out and walk). - The driver goes to the wrong pickup address (like not even the correct street) and then cancels the trip ($5 charge), even though it was their mistake. - Dropped off at the wrong address (again, not even the correct street). - Driven the wrong way down a one-way street. - Held hostage, intentionally driven in the wrong direction, and demanded cash (this happened to a coworker who had to get out and run away while stopped at a light!). And in the case of Uber Eats, which is supposed to provide "curbside service," today the driver blew right past where I was waiting for her curbside and went around the corner, where she waited several minutes before asking about parking. I told her that she didn't need to park, and that she could just pull off in the loading zone directly in front of the building, where I was waiting. She did not do this. She made a couple more turns, eventually just stopping her car in the middle of the (wrong) street, and then texted "where r u." Well, I'm standing directly in front of the address you were given, lady. I had to go find her on the other street where she did not pull off, but made me come out to her car in the middle of the road to get my food while cars drove around us. I explained my complaint(s) to customer service and the response I got was, "I understand your situation, but I would like to clarify that curbside delivery is the quickest and most reliable way for you to connect with your driver, so please keep in mind that you'll sometimes need to meet your driver outside when your order arrives." WTF?? Why bother having complaint forms if they don't even read them? The rep went on to say, "Nevertheless, I added a $5 promo to your account," which of course is not showing up in my account. I don't have time for this shit anymore. Given the massive laundry list of complaints above - most of which are frequent occurrences - I only use/recommend Lyft now because I have never once had any problem with them at all. Seriously, USE LYFT! *An alternate possibility is that the GPS app that all Uber drivers use just super sucks, which would absolutely explain why not a single driver can locate even the most obvious street address. Whatever the cause, Uber's service is completely unreliable, and I can't recommend them until significant changes are made. read more

This review is for Uber Eats. I've tried Uber Eats twice, the first time the food wasn't cooked and part of the order was missing. Contacting customer service was an absolute sh!show. They offered a five dollar credit instead of a refund for the missing and uncooked items. It took 45 minutes on the phone because a supervisor had to process the refund. Last night I tried Uber Eats again because it was late. The person delivering our food had THREE adults in the car with them, gosh I'm excited, all those people now have my address! Talk about uncomfortable, the delivery person didn't bother to show up at the correct address, but pulled into the next apartment complex which is on a huge incline They expected me to approach the car and get my food which they helpfully dangled out the driver side window. It felt like they were calling a freaking a dog to their car. Uber customer service has been amazing...not. Here's their email response. Sorry to hear that the delivery partner didn't deliver your food to your door and had extra passengers in the car. Occasionally delivery partners may have extra passengers with them on their trips. These extra passengers may be assisting a new delivery partner or could be a family member. Uber Eats aims to provide a seamless delivery experience. We have processes in place to pass all feedback to the appropriate teams to ensure that you have a better experience next time. Certainly, we will take note of this issue for internal review. The vast majority of Seattle Uber drivers seem to be more interested in chit-chatting than getting you to your destination in a timely manner. I've had multiple drivers either get lost or fail to make it through an intersection because they were distracting themselves by talking. I really don't care to chat. I order Ubers to get me to a destination more quickly and efficiently than public transportation. Uber has taken me to the wrong address twice - the first time the driver made me get out of the car where we were and I missed an important doctor appointment. The second time, after the driver took me to the wrong place, he then took me to the correct address but charged me almost double the amount I was quoted. Trying to get it sorted out - there is no way to contact uber. I never had these problems with Lyft. The only reason I use uber is that a friend gave me an uber gift card.
