As I stood in front of my door waiting I saw the Taxi driver on the main road. A few cars were still passing him, so, I ran inside my apartment & grabbed my bag & ran back downstairs to get into the vehicle. It wasn't even 2 minutes at most. It was less than 2 minutes. Traffic is brutal no matter what, so don't expect miracles--whether you're in an Uber or your own car, you'll be staring at brake lights. Pricing swings with the mood of the city. Surge pricing during a Mariners game or when it rains (so, basically every other day)? Expect your wallet to feel lighter. But compared to the ghost town of taxis, Uber at least shows up when you need it, which is really the only reason it wins by default. Uber in Seattle isn't glamorous. He sat down in the driver's seat, started the taxi, backed into our luggage -- nearly running us over -- and left.
