My son ordered me a ride with Uber which we have used for the past year. This guy gets angry when I asked him to take the same route as driver that took me to the library(which is by Wamart). So his name is David license plate 11AG02 in a Black Chevrolet Cruze. He started speeding, passing up stop signs and almost hit a ran into cars parked on the side of road in PrinceCreek drive. Another car was driving and he almost hit head on with him. At that point, I should have gotten out. He gets to my apartment complex with more of my neighbors cars parked on the side of ride. I had to tell him to slow down in order to let me out or he would have passed up my apartment. He almost hit car attempting to turn into my apartment complex. Do not ride with him, he should not be driving at all. I take the same route with other drivers before.BAD REVIEW. -100 review no star read more

Very pleased uber is faster, cheaper, and more convenient than traditional cab services.

10 out of 10, my pilot David Ramos moved me from objective to objective, with short jumps in between which prompted me to capture said objectives. All within a course of 2 minute stops and 4 minute trips to the next point. He completed this trip five times around before being shot down, good pilot. Pilot #A35ewgjt5tx read more

We have never used Uber and did not know the procedure, so a friend of ours called to confirm our 10 minute trip from her home to the airport. The ride would cost us $60. We didn't know our friend charged it on her account. Of course when we got to the airport the driver removed our luggage and held out his hand. We gave him $60 unknowingly that that they are paid in advanced over the phone with a secured credit card payment. He knew dare well it must of been a mistake. No way anyone tips $60 for a 10 minute ride. He did not say anything the driver kept the money. How can we report him and or get our money back? read more

Only problem is as being a driver people want to leave anything under a 5 star review. Why don't yalla tell us what we did to deserve not a 5 star so it can be changed. Also so many drunk people probably can't even see straight enough to know what they leave and that effects us read more

I used Uber for almost 50 trips, and they were all perfect. The driver always showed up immediately, in a nice clean car, with a friendly attitude. I always arrived in record time at my destination, and there was no money transaction needed. The price was the lowest. I love Uber! read more

i dont get why the fuck i get hung up on 3x while trying to activate my accounts! so unprofessional and people who dont understand or comprehend english! i am so upset! why is this process so damn difficult!!!! ive emailed and called uber going on a week now with no results! then i get hung up on! i'll stay with lyft! fucking forget working for you guys! all of this just to get my accounts reactivated! read more

Got scammed by driver for lost item return fee. I didn't leave anything behind and nothing was returned to me. Was charged fare and left $15 tip for 4 mile trip but I guess it wasn't good enough for her. Will never use Uber again. read more

Very unpleasant experience! Uber driver accepted my request but never showed up. After 45 minutes of wait, I could not cancel my trip without getting charged more money. Unacceptable experience! I will not use it again. read more

Uber is only GREAT if it's not a holiday or an event. Used Uber to go to Rodeo cook off- $42 to get there(approx. 1 hr drive), which was not a problem as it was 4:30 and lots of traffic. Loved that the charge was well defined upfront. Used Uber to get home(BAD CHOICE) as there were plenty of cabs lined up. They said it there was a price surge and once I was dropped off, the driver said the total cost was $265 and that is what they charged my card for. If I had known this would be the cost, I would have cancelled it as It actually took less time to get home, less traffic and lots of transportation choices were lined up at NRG.. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!! read more

Took an Uber home for the first time on Halloween. Three of us went from downtown to the Heights area, about a 15 minute drive. As we pull up at home, the driver says it will cost me $155 because of the surge pricing that I "agreed" to by requesting the car. The fact that they can even charge that much money for a 15 minute car ride completely blows my mind. This also happened to several of my friends taking Uber cars to different destinations on the same night. I will never use this service again and will continue to spread the word. Uber, thanks for robbing me blind, buttwipes. (keepin it PG here on yelp) read more

I was left without a ride the morning of my flight due to my acct being barred for non payment for a trip ONE year ago. The payment went thru--I have the statement to prove it but they apparently don't care even though I paid the card off. I wasn't given any warning, no contact, or attempt to recoup so-called nonpayment at all. Just denied when I tried to request a ride. The app support is hard to navigate and the responses are simplistic--and that is if you even get one! No phone # or email anymore either. Just keep stating to pay the amount to clear my account. Ridiculous business practice and no clue about customer service! read more

what has happened to their mapping GPS? The GPS is sending them miles away to take a route that makes no sense. This is 2d time in a row I have been made very late by this nonsense. I am to exaggerating when say MILES. read more

Very disappointed. I took an Uber ride from my hotel to a meeting at my companies Houston office and then another Uber ride back to the hotel 20 minutes later. To the office: $14.00 - from the office: $25.00. The cars were nice, the drivers were nice, both used Uber's GPS equipped smart phone, but the fare changed by $11. What's that about Uber? read more

Let me just start by saying that if you're waiting for a driver and your app says 3 min, it's not necessarily taking into account the jerks cutting your driver off or the stand still red light turn lanes you may not have been witness to. Also, sometimes the driver doesn't necessarily know the fastest route until they've taken the wrong one, if you want a specific route, it's best to tell your driver right off the top read more

I booked Uber through the app it was my first time using it so I had high hopes. Before I booked my ride Uber said a driver was five minutes away. Great, I thought, that's fast. after I paid and they took the money out of my Paypal account the wait time for a drive increased to 17 minutes. I was annoyed by that but I was still willing to take the ride. So, after waiting for 15 minutes I look at the app again to see where the driver was and the app updated again and said my wait time was another 15 minutes, so now a total wait time of 32 minutes. I was going to be late for my second day on the job. So, I called Yellow cab and I said whoever comes first that's who I am going with. The cab came ten minutes after I called and still no Uber (a total of 42 minutes had passed by this time). So, while I was in the cab I cancelled Uber and they still charged my account $10. I called and they said I needed to cancel my ride within the first 5 minutes. I explained why but the woman refused a refund. I will not be using Uber again. read more

When it is good it is very good but buyer beware of the gotchas. First, most drivers are solid or better. Cars are clean and the drivers are on time and polite and actually drive well. Other times you will get drivers who cannot find you even if you shoot up a flare and strike up the band. You will wait and wait and wait and if you cancel you will be charged a cancellation fee and an attempt to reorder will likely result in the same idiot being assigned to you again because he/she is allegedly nearby and they will circle seemingly all of Houston while you vacillate between frustration, rage and utter disbelief. These clueless drivers as well as those who drive with GPS in hand on 45 (really), have cars that smell like feet take time to weed out via the post ride star rating system. One of very 5 or 6 drivers is like this. Then there are Surge fees. This is a multiple of normal fares during peak hours. I have seen Surge multiples of 3.5X and heard of even higher. A premium is one thing but this gouging is something else. Note that if you have a large group you may request a bigger vehicle but they cost much more. There is no way for one person to order more than one car at a time so if you are the only one in the group with an account you are stuck. Finally, customer service is only after the fact not real time and only handled by email. I have been accommodated with refunded cancellation fees and other adjustments but you are at their mercy. There are no hard standards. All in all it is a good service if you pick your shots by avoiding Surge and get lucky with a good driver. Better than Yellow Cab but this a pretty low bar. read more

Uber is not a customer first company! They would rather keep a measly $22 than give a long time customer good customer service and give a full refund. If a customer has to ride in a car for 2 hours to get to work after hurricane Harvey tore through our city and the uber driver refused to turn on the A/C forcing the customer to sweat for 2 hours in traffic in 90 degree heat. Uber does not care. They simply say of we're sorry here's a partial refund. Wow, I didnt know your bottom line meant more than your customers safety. Driving through a city on the way to work and having to sweat for 2 hours in a car was bad enough. But then uber actually charges you to go through those types of conditions. This is appalling and despicable. Great to know customer safety is high on Uber's list! read more

I will preface by saying that before tonight, my past 3 trips with uber were great. That said, after trying to pre-book an uber for an early ride to the airport in the morning, it said on the small print that they could not guarantee that a driver would accept my ride request. I booked it though and waited several hours, never hearing anything from uber about my ride request. When someone books a ride to the airport, it is expected that the ride would be booked and guaranteed. With all of the hype of uber these days, never have I heard that they would not be able to pick you up and drive you wherever you need to go. This severely jeopardizes my opinion of uber, especially when pre-booking a ride! In my opinion, if you cannot be guaranteed a ride (especially to catch a plane), then why book with them! In my case, I canceled my ride request and went with Super Shuttle, which was also cheaper Good luck if using uber. I hope they make the much needed changes to their ride system, because if people have to get somewhere on time, then uber needs to be able to accommodate them if they want the business!!! read more

My partner was an avid uber user because she doesn't have a car, so whenever she had to she would take it from school, to work, home, etc. Then a couple of days ago she took a ride and she changed her payment on the ride because she had put a lock on her other card. She changed the payment option before the ride, but because her other card was locked that meant for some reason that they charged her account over and over until it was overdrawn completely. It then took a full two days for their email system to respond. They are giving a refund of the charges, though they made no mention of the overdraft fee's, but the fact that it was two days where she did not have money is completely ridiculous. Unfortunately, uber doesn't have a call center and that makes it so much harder for people to report issues. If only there was another option in Houston, then we would use that. Customer service was totally rude and uncaring and kept stating that the charges were correct when her bill was $14 and she was charged $58 something. What a goddamn scam! Be careful to watch your bank account after using one, because they will drain what you have! read more

Ok so I'm new to Houston. And I don't drive. And with public transportation being so crappy, my boyfriend I rely on Uber multiple times throughout the month. Whether it is for errands, work or date night. And I love Uber and I'm always encouraging people to try it... but what I don't love is having to give directions to my drivers, being lost, driving out of the way of my location multiple times only to have my fare hikes because my driver doesn't know where he is going. Yesterday I was charged $15 for the same route I was just charged over $18 for today because my driver didn't know where he was going. He continuously asked me for directions and missed exits and took wrong turns. This extended my trip. Like I literally just left a feedback either yesterday or the day before complaining about the same thing! That's two too many in just a couple of days. I really feel like something should be done about this. I've been trying to be patient but it's really getting irritating as this isn't the first time it's happened to me since I've been in Houston. read more

My poor rating of Uber is a reflection on the company and its leadership. After using the service for about a year, I only have good things to say about the drivers I have come in contact with. HOWEVER, would be riders must be aware Uber has no regrets for spikes the prices of services to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. A trip I have taken before that normally runs $20-25 dollars COST ME $91!! At 1 o'clock in the morning, Uber feels it can raise prices to what ever level they see fit. This must me regulated and reviewed by City council and the attorney general if necessary. I understand the theory behind charging a premium during peak demand time, but this was Highway robbery (litterly). Had my normal 20 dollar trip ran me $45/50 at this time of morning, that's understandable. But $90 is just exploitative. That's yellow cab rates! I have long time associated yellow cab as crooked, the folks running Uber are no different in my opinion at this time. read more

Magnolia, TX - I scheduled a ride for my son. The driver accepted the ride and was on her way. I texted the driver and told her who she would be picking up. She was driving around in circles even though I told her he was standing in front of the Randall's. She never even came in the parking lot according to the map. I called her personally and asked was she still coming and she said yes. The next thing I know she canceled the trip. She did this twice! Uber charged me two $5.00 fees for her time???? She was the one that couldn't find the destination and didn't show up!!!! I tried to get my money back and they charged me for "her time". The trip would have only been $6.00. So now I've paid $10 for nothing! I called Lyft and everything went perfect. Needless to say, I'm done with Uber after this. It was only $10 but it was the principle that SHE canceled while my son was out waiting in the cold to be picked up! The app clearly says "Driver Canceled". I'm done. Thanks for nothing UBER! Driver was Migdalia. My funds are important to me! read more

Just a personally experience I will never use them again, they charged me a 6.6 surcharge at 2:30 in the morning based on "high volume time" for $129 for 8 miles. Whats the point of not drinking and driving i could of took a cab for maybe $30? I cancelled my account and will never use them again. Be wary of late night hours on a friday saturday as i have heard of even higher surcharges then this. I feel you should not have to worry about getting over charged when your out drinking whats the point of this service if stuff like this is going to happen. I will stick to the cab rides. read more

It is absolutely impossible to contact Uber via phone or email to ask a question or discuss arrangements. Apparently, they do not have any real people to talk to, and they have no one to reply to emails. I am wondering: How the hell are they still even in business? read more

I absolutely love Uber. We visited Houston for 8 nights and used Uber a dozen times. The drivers were all courteous and on time. The vehicles were everything from a Lexus, Acura to a Mercedes Benz. All my drivers were very friendly and helpful and got us to our destination on time. The vehicles were clean. Uber is fabulous. We also took 3 taxis while in Houston and 2 of the drivers were extremely rude and they were all overpriced. I hope Uber puts all taxi drivers out of business! RIDE WITH UBER AND TIP THE DRIVER BUT DON'T WORK FOR THEM Uber is a Walmart price cab company, where 4 riders can ride as low as $5.00 and it may take drivers up to 20 minutes driving to get to them and they don't know where the riders are going till he arrives at their pick up location and starts the ride.Out of that ride the driver make close to $2.43. The driver's can not cancel rides if they cancel 3 rides in a row the system makes them go offline for 20 minutes. To start driving for Uber , drivers have to get a TNC license at the cost of $160 and have their vehicle inspected at the cost of $150. Uber is charging riders 87 cents a miles which they take 28% of it or 24 cents and that leaves the drivers with 63 cents a mile and drivers have to pay for gas , maintenance and wear an tear on his car and for the amount of money that drivers makes they have to put up with mean, rude ,racist ,frugal , nosey and demanding and college kids brat riders. For riders entertainment drivers are told to ask riders about their favorite radio station, preferred route and have auxiliary cable and I phone cords. The system is set to make drivers fail.Riders don't know when they rate drivers low they are making the drivers lose their job if driver's rating go below 4.6. If a driver get deactivated for the first time they can get reactivated by paying $37 and watching a video which should have been a part of their training but no it is not anyhow video teaches them in order to get a 5 star rating they need to dress up, open doors for riders offer them bottled water, mint and gum and have puke bags ready in case a drunk rider pukes in their car and take a picture of it to get reimbursed for cleaning. If driver's get deactivated for for low rating for second time they get deactivated permanently read more

First, let me start by saying I was hoping to become a regular Uber user. In fact, I was thinking I might not need a car and could simply use Uber. I now know better. I summoned Uber for an airport trip the other day. Driver arrives and I have to put my bags on the seat with me because the back of his SUV is filled with his junk. So, off we head to the airport. Believe it or not, my driver got lost on way to airport. If there are two places you would think an Uber driver would know the directions, it would be the two airports. But, not to be. I had to actually call 911 because we were lost in a bad neighborhood. The driver took wrong route to start and had no idea how to get to airport. 911 operator had to provide guidance. What should have been a 30 minute trip took almost an hour. So, I filed the complaint with customer service with Uber. Their response...to take off $4.00 to adjust the ride to what the fare "should have been!" I responded that I thought their proposal was ridiculous by pointing out that nothing about the trip was as it "should have been." I asked customer service if you went to a restaurant and found a dead rat in your food, would you find it acceptable if the restaurant came over, took the rat out, and then told you: "We want to make this right so we're not going to charge you extra for the rat; rather, we only going to charge you for what your meal would have cost without the rat."? Their response to my response....Total silence! Upon my arrival back to Houston, you can rest assured Uber was not summoned! read more

I took my first ride with Uber yesterday and have to admit I was kind of underwhelmed. The rate was cheap and the service was fast but I got a very talkative African guy who asked waaaaaay too many personal questions (I.e. Am I married? Where do I work? Where do I live? How do I act when I'm mad? Do American women take their husbands names?) D.U.D.E really!? I seriously thought this guy worked for the Census Bureau or something. He was a live wire! That was just too OTT for an 11 minute ride. I couldn't have been happier when I got out of that car. I felt like I should've been paid for that agony and not the other way around! I hate conversing with strangers too so I was probably the wrong girl for that driver. What made it even worse is that I could barely understand him. I kept saying 'huh?' after every other word. Why is it always the ones that can't speak English that want to hold a conversation with you? Anyways, some of these drivers obviously need to learn proper etiquette for working with clients because I felt violated riding with that guy. I hope they're not all like that! read more

My experience with Uber has been either a "10" or a "0". As someone else has said, it pretty much depends upon your driver. Sometimes they are inept, don't speak English, or their car is a mess with no a/c and blaring radio. Other times they are great. The price is ok except for busy times or, God forbid, during an event here in Houston. Lights in the Heights last Christmas was a disaster. Uber picked us up but the system crashed and we had to pay the driver cash to take us to the Heights. Went to a concert in the Woodlands but Uber stranded me out there at midnight. No drivers. Had to find a car service to take me back to the Museum District ($100+). Uber stranded me in Montrose last night. Driver was on his way and suddenly cancelled. Could not find another Uber driver (in Montrose??) and called Yellow Cab. It was a bit more expensive than Uber would have been but at least they showed up. I think Uber needs to select and train its drivers better and make sure they have a decent cell phone with nav. read more

THE WORST! Non existence Customer Service. No explanation or proper response to my 3 e-mails I sent to them. Took an UBER last weekend after a concert. Should have been a 3 mile ride. Trip took over an hour. The route which is visible was ridiculous! I explained to the driver that we were not familiar with the area. Told him where we wanted to go, which honestly, was different than the location I chose as our destination in the app. BUT I TOLD HIM WHAT HOTEL VERBALLY. I was charged $233 plus for this ride. I complained and explained the circumstances to their customer service. 2 days later they charged me an ADDITIONAL $44 "to compensate their driver". Really! Is that even legal! After they already ripped me off of $233. Uber is a bunch of crooks with terrible drivers. I will never use this crappy service again. I would recommend Lyft or anyone else for that matter. Just another reason Austin got rid of them. read more
