I have been going to Lauren for years. She is very attentive and always does exactly what I ask... sometimes better than I ask! There is such caring and attention to detail here. There is a cute coffee/drink station with lots to choose from, (now modified due to Covid) and comfy seating while you wait. Lauren always includes a little shoulder rub and hand massage with Aveda lotion. Her scalp massage/shampoos are awesome and nobody does a better blow out. (My daughter has dubbed Lauren "the queen of blowouts")! You will feel pampered and leave restored and gorgeous! As far as other reviews go, I have occasionally had to wait a bit too. I think they do their best to stay on time but sometimes a prior client showed up for their appointment a little late. But because they give the same care to each customer, they may occasionally run behind. Just remember while waiting that it's worth it and that you will be given the same time and care when it's your turn in the chair! Bring a book to read and allow extra time. I have referred sooo many friends here and they have all loved Lauren and been pleased with their service. read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this salon. Aileen is an incredible hairdresser. She gives a great scalp massage while shampooing your hair and is very thorough while cutting it. I was quoted $75 per hour for a Brazilian Blowout over the phone when I booked a consultation. When I arrived for my appointment I was told $150 per hour. How can I be quoted one price and then the quote doubles in price??? Is it because my hair was shoulder length and you realized you wouldn't make as much money on me? Not cool. I will find a more honest salon. read more

Was kept waiting past my appt. time. No one noticed, so I went to front desk and confirmed that I had an appt. 15 min. ago. They fumbled around trying to figure who my stylist was going to be. I was the only person in the waiting room so why was this so confusing? They said my stylist was running behind. Ok, that happens, but why didn't the stylist stop what he was doing and come over to me and tell me he was running late. Instead, when he finished up with his client, he swept the floor for about 5 more minutes. So much for 'first impressions', as mentioned on their website. I mentioned to the stylist that I left work early so I wouldn't be late and he only offered the lamest apology, not in the least sincere. The color was good, the cut acceptable, but the price for exactly the same service at other Aveda salons that I go to was 40.00 more! I had the receipt emailed to me so I didn't look at it until I got home. There was only a number on the receipt, no detail showing what costs what. I have no idea what these people charge for anything, only that it cost me more than all the previous places I've been. I even looked for pricing on the website, nothing. In fact, the website had no information whatsoever about charges for their services. There was only some long rambling story about the history of ownership and the drinks offered. It was very poorly written and doesn't provide the customer with any necessary info. I would not return here or recommend them to anyone else. read more

Aileen or Eileen- whatever the woman's name is with NO eyebrows- do NOT trust her with your brows! I was traveling an hour away for my brows, thought I'd try somewhere local...BIG mistake. I said before I sat down 'I've been working on growing them out. Please do not take off too much.' I have a massive gap between my brows now, so far that my eyes look further apart, they're uneven, and the length that I specifically told her not to touch- GONE. She didn't charge me, but wtf good does that do?!?! I'm still stuck with these brows for at least 3 months. I'm in tears. I can't believe how badly she messed up. read more

I have been going to this salon for at least 5 years now. I used to feel comfortable and enjoyed every visit. I was just there again two weeks ago and I am still upset about my hair. Lauren...who is supposed to be their best and most expensive stylist is whom I always went to. She always did exactly what I asked. When I made the appointment, I called several times, back to back to get an answer. I read the other review about this salon. The reviewer mentioned how rude the girl at the desk was. She is lucky she got waited on at all. Half the time I'm in there all the stylists are doing each other's hair and don't bother to answer the phone. They seriously just flat out ignore it. Also...this is a side peev...but someone actually brought a dog into the salon. All the stylists stopped working on the customers to pet this dog. Then went back to their customers without even washing hands after playing with the dog. Then they gave it a drink or water out of the same mugs they serve their customers coffee and tea in. When I arrived for my appointment dead on time, there was someone in the chair. Not so bad, I'm used to them doing that to me in UTurn. However, when that person was done, ANOTHER person was placed in the chair. STILL ahead of me. I sat in the chair at least 25 minutes late. After my color and cut was all done and I got home I realized after 150 dollars that my hair was no where near what I had asked for. When I alerted the stylist to this, she became hostile and rude and even swore at me. No apology and I was blamed for taking up all her time that day and for putting her behind schedule. First of all....if there is a scheduling problem, the receptionist should maybe worry more about that then her own hair and being on face book. Also, DO NOT SWEAR TO ME MORE THAN ONCE THAT YES YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY DO THE CUT AND COLOR I REQUESTED and then when it comes out like I did it myself in the dark, do not try to blame me for it due to a time crunch. Laurens immature response to my very upset message is the reason I will never go back. As well as the fact that the owner seems completely blind to the charades his employees exhibit while at work. All the smiles are so fake I'm surprised their faces aren't frozen like that. read more

Had a great experience at Uturn this afternoon. Steve cut my hair and did a fabulous job. The staff was friendly and relaxed. I only had to wait a few minutes and although they were busy they still stopped working to offer me a drink and to take my coat. I will be back! read more

I have been going here for years. Lauren is very professional and has always gone above and beyond to make sure that I am happy with my haircut and color. She also cuts my teenage daughter's hair and makes her look and feel beautiful. Skot is awesome too. He does my son's and husband's hair from time to time. He does exactly what you ask and is very creative when you ask for suggestions. I grew up in a hairdressing family so I am very particular about my hair and customer service. U-turn has a very professional staff and I always feel welcome when I walk in. They are busy because they are so good at what they do. I wouldn't want to go to a salon that wasn't very busy because it does say much for their reputation. The receptionists will try their best to get me in and they are very quick to respond if I leave a message.I know that if I was truly unhappy (which I never have been) U-turn would do whatever it took to make it right. read more

I have been a regular customer, as have my husband and adult daughter, for so many years that I cannot even recall when I first came or why I had even changed salons to travel to Palmyra....I only know that I consistently have excellent service and leave with great looking hair.
