And yet again, I have tried to make a payment online. And yet again, no success. This storage facility is a true nightmare. Last month our receipt was not emailed to us and we had to go to the office to get it. The month before they were updating their system so we could not pay online and had to go into the office. And now, we have to go to the office to pay our storage and hopefully get a receipt. This is if they are in the office. They raise your monthly fee every 10-12 months under the guise that they are making site improvements. When in reality they are only maintaining the facility. If it was not such a hassle to find another unit we would have done this months ago. FYI to those looking in the Brighton area, stay away from these folks. read more

Was quoted $130 for a moving truck day of rental with being very liberal on the miles just Incase. Rented it 24 hrs. Returned in condition it was found. Forgot to "fold" the moving blankets you HAVE to rent. $40 extra charge for that. Plus they added on over $100 in other fees. BAIT AND SWITCH. Bull****. So $330 total!!!!That truck by the way was old as all hell and felt like it was going to rattle apart. Terrible what your doing by price gouging people. Enjoy my hard earned money thieves. CLASSIC BAIT 'N SWITCH -- You've been warned. Reserved a unit online from their website and they sent me a coupon good for 1/2 off the second month. I went to the Brighton facility later in the day to finalize the rental and was told by the employee that they do not accept that. **They do not accept their own coupons from their own website. "Those were put up by mistake and the manager told us to watch out and not take them". Strike 1. Moved forward in the rental process, expecting the rate I reserved ($53/mo. for a 5x10), and then was informed of mandatory insurance "required by the State of Michigan", an additional $9/mo. I know full well the state doesn't require insurance. It's a mandatory $9/mo. on top of whatever you were quoted, but this is not disclosed anywhere at any time until and unless you read the contract. "The state just started requiring this a couple of weeks ago". **Whatever rate you were quoted, add $9/mo. for "mandatory state-required insurance". So now they are acting as unlicensed insurance agents. The "manager" Carol Mannarino had been called by this point because the initial employee couldn't provide even a high-school level answer about anything. She admitted the state does not require it, but the owner does. She would not give me the owner's information. At this point, I started to explain all of the legalities of what they were doing and the manager began working feverishly to try to refund my "reservation fee" and telling me "we won't be a good fit for you". Yes, she's right. Anybody who misrepresents their fees without disclosure and violates state pricing and insurance statutes isn't a good fit for me. Strike 2. About that refund? The "real" manager wasn't available. When I asked their names so I could follow up with a review, they refused (except the "assistant manager" Carol had a business card. **After being caught with their pants down trying to pull a fast one on a potential tenant, the gentlemen told me "I'm not telling you my name". So be it, I'd be ashamed to work there too. Strike 3. Don't let this be you. Don't let them take advantage of you like this. $9/mo. may be nothing, but you have to stand up for your principles and realize that the state affords legislative protections against merchant scams and fraud. Once you compare their "real" rates against their competitors, you'll see they are among the most expensive. And god forbid you have an issue at any point, I can't imagine "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" in the office giving you any sort of acceptable service, especially if you have to wake Carol up from her afternoon nap like my questions to the employee apparently resulted in. Go with a reputable storage facility. Or send me your money and I'll throw it away for you. Anybody who rents from these people does so out of ignorance and/or desperation. They may be fools, but don't be fooled yourself. read more
