I had a storage unit here for about 3 years with no issues or problems. The site is secure, the…read moreunit was clean and well constructed, and the location was very convenient to my home. I didn't need assistance often but when I did the desk staff was very friendly. The move out process was easy and they give you a 4 day grace period if your move out coincides with your monthly renewal date, so you have a good amount of time should you need it before getting charged. They did accidentally charge me after I moved out but a quick phone call got me a nice apology and my money refunded ASAP. Not a huge problem. Prices were on par with other storage areas I've used as well. Units fill up quickly in the spring as students get storage units for their things for the summer so I'd recommend getting a space in the winter or fall just in case. Pretty good across the board!

So this is a storage facility located on Industrial, in downtown Saline Michigan. I've actually…read morerented from this location in the past, when it still had a staffed office. You would come up to the facility, punch your code in, and the gate would open. If you needed a lock or boxes, packing material, or just help of any kind, there would be someone in the small office at the front of the Facility. I recently moved back to Michigan and had need of a storage unit again lol and went back to U STOR Self Storage ... some things have definitely changed lol! So the entrance is now closer to Michigan Avenue, and the small office where you used to be able to talk to someone is gone. You can now only enter into the outer portion of where the office was located. Once inside there is an automated kiosk. You can pay your bill through the kiosk, you can put a unit number to get information about your unit, and you can rent a unit through the kiosk as well. Pretty much anything that you would be able to do by phone, you can go ahead and do on the kiosk. For instance, I had rented a smaller unit than I actually needed, and even though there wasn't anyone there that I could interact with, I was able to go to the kiosk and rent a larger unit, then close my previous unit, and have them connect the two so that it was prorated for the next month! Had I needed a new lock as well, there's also a small vending machine where you could pay and the lock drops down. So while it's a lot less personal than it used to be, no happy faces to interact with, and certainly no "please take a piece of free candy" bucket by the door, but it does well enough for what you need. You still have to punch your code in and the gate goes up, it's just in a slightly different location and you'll have to go through the kiosk for any information you need. Honestly I kind of miss there being a person there, because if I need an extra boxes or tape, I could get that too, but I do understand that everybody is cutting back and they've at least added a kiosk that is pretty user-friendly. All in all I think it's just as good as before and give it that my situation was a little complicated anyway it was easy enough to work through. There's also a phone number that you can call while you're working at the kiosk, and that helped as well. I definitely would still recommend the used store self storage in Saline Michigan.

Do not use this company unless you want to be threatened with a lien and court date if you aren't…read morehappy with the work done. I hired Chris and his team to remove asbestos wrap on boiler pipes in my basement. I should have known not to use him when he came to the estimate appointment 30+ minutes late smelling like a certain substance. The day the work was "complete" per Chris, I went to the home to look everything over. I sent Chris pictures of some concerning areas and he came over the next morning. We discussed possible remedies for those areas and as soon as we mentioned not providing final payment until we had our other contractor that is removing the pipes come out and see the areas around the ceiling where there was still visible asbestos that was not removed well, Chris immediately became hostile. He started to threaten us with a lien, said he'd see us in court and just became the most unprofessional, despicable human being I've had the misfortune of dealing with recently. I will reiterate here, at no point did we tell Chris we were not paying him, yet he started to threaten us immediately. I even explained to him when he was having this tantrum that we are not saying we are not paying, we are saying we will pay when this is done right. I don't know if it's because it was 2 women he was dealing with or if he treats all his customers like this. You would think a company run by a minority would also watch what they say yet he had the audacity to tell us in no simple words that "in America I can sue you" because I didn't want to pay him the remainder when he deemed the work done (he chose those words knowing full well my mother wears a hijab and therefore we must be uneducated and not know anything about the US law system). Apparently as the person requesting the service my input has no say to Chris and when he says the work is done, that's it, the work is done. After all of the threats, I gave in because this wasn't worth it. I told Chris I'd have someone else fix the areas he didn't and I'd pay the remainder without even deducting anything from it so I wouldn't have to deal with him ever again. All I asked for which I think would be standard practice, is that he provided final paperwork outlining what was done and the air test results. This man actually said no and that it's only provided after payment and that if I didn't pay he'd see me in court. He also tried to ask that we meet in public to do an "equal exchange" like this was a drug deal. Eventually I got the paperwork and as I said, I made the payment. It was just constant threats of "I'll see you in court, I'm gonna sue you, I'm gonna put a lien on your house". BEWARE if you want to use this company. Do yourself a favor and go with any of the other numerous companies in the area.
