They took great care in moving our furniture, even navigating super heavy pieces through narrow spaces with finesse. Many boxes of delicate kitchenware were moved without any issues or breakage. They were happy to move stuff into the right rooms and position/set things up to make our lives easier. The move did end up take 1.5 hours longer than quoted, which was $$ more, but I think some of our furniture pieces were heavier than expected and we probably ended up with more boxes than expected.

Unfortunately, my husband and I had a nightmare of a move with Wondermove. This review is true to the events that happened and I would just like to prevent someone else from having to deal with the added stress this company caused. We were moving from a 1,000sqft home that had "larger items" consisting of 2 beds, 2 couches and a dresser. We were quoted 3.5-4 hours and $760-$926. The movers (Dae and Travis) showed up at 8:45am and we were excited to get moving. We took a walkthrough of the house and they started to move the larger items. This is where it all went downhill. I was finishing packing a few boxes in the kitchen and noticed I hadn't seen the movers coming in and out as expected. I then realized only one mover would occasionally come in and grab a box. I asked Dae if Travis was okay and he said he was "playing tetris" in the truck. It was now 11 and we still had plenty to pack up. They both stood around/in the truck for most of the morning and occasionally came in to move an item as I asked them about it. My husband and I didn't know what else to do to get them to move the items so we started moving all of the boxes and workout equipment up from the basement and setting it all outside of the truck. I didn't want to be confrontational but was absolutely dumbfounded that we were doing majority of the work that we paid the service to do. After having to leave items behind because they left their own inventory in the truck we finally departed for our new home around 1. We get to the new house and they scrape our driveway with the underride guard. I watch Travis run around and try to kick away the asphalt as if nothing happened. They then attempt to drive up the driveway front ways and beech the truck. The underride guard is now scraping the cul-de-sac asphalt and the front tires are digging up the asphalt on our driveway. We sat waiting for a tow truck to arrive at 3:30. We now are unloading the truck (my husband and I again doing a lot of the work) to get this job done. Majority of the boxes ended up in the front room (not as labeled). The hardest I saw them work was when it was 5o'clock and the truck wasn't even half empty. The final bill ended up being $1,533. We later spoke to Nick (manager) on the phone and he determined the best he could do is offer 20% for us repair to the driveway ourselves. He said that we should have called someone when we noticed the movers were not doing their job, which was a baffling response, then rushed us off the phone. I couldn't be more disappointed in this company and regret choosing them.

    I would strongly caution against using this company. I hired them to remove a fold-out couch from…read moremy third floor. When they arrived I told them I wasn't sure if the couch would need to be disassembled or the doors taken off their hinges in order to get the couch down the stairs. They assured me that they were professionals and knew how to handle it. Two hours later they had managed to get the couch out of the house after knocking three large holes in the plaster on the staircase. When I told them I didn't want to pay until the plaster was repaired, the movers were instructed to sit in front of my house in their truck until I paid them. I figured that my issue was with the management, so I paid the movers after speaking with a manager who assured me that everything would be taken care of. Long story short: it wasn't taken care of. When I finally spoke to an upper-level manager -- some two weeks later -- he immediately behaved as if I were trying to scam him -- claiming that I had had construction done since the couch was delivered which made it impossible to remove and that I was attempting to get him to re-plaster my entire house. When I said I just wanted him to repair the plaster they had damaged, he said his liability only covered 60 cents per pound of the object being moved so he would only be able to pay about $150 (Not sure where that figure came from.) and that it was my job to find a person to repair the plaster. (This was after the lower-level manager assured me that they had a person who could do the work.) I'm fine with people making mistakes, but in business and life people who don't acknowledge their mistakes or work to make them right are not worth dealing with. This company seems to operate well as long as everything goes smoothly. As soon as you have a justifiable complaint -- that, for instance, your property has been damaged -- you will be treated with aggression, condescension and contempt. Other reviews here echo that same sentiment and are worth paying attention to. This situation is very simple: I paid the full bill to have couch removed. I have not been compensated for any of the damage done to the plaster on my staircase. Anything else is noise. Let the buyer beware.

    Absolutely the worst experience moving ever! Everything seemed great until they showed up. We had…read morephone calls, texts and even a walk through where John even took notes. We felt confident. Boy were we wrong! $15k down the drain. Everything became a complaint or an argument. We had picked them specifically because they said they would build a crate for the lathe and charged another $1000 to do it. On the day John argued he would not move it and had never agreed to. Much less build a crate for it. I ended up providing makeshift materials and show them how to safely move it. When it got here things were bent and broken. While getting boxes in the truck two of them kept pushing each other around like two little kids. They eventually dropped a bed frame on the hardwood floor and then one pretended to be hurt. We saw it. It never touched him but he screamed it broke his foot and was bleeding. Yet somehow he had no issues moving boxes. The same two guys kept pushing each other around until finally one was thrown right where a snow plow was being moved. The plow flipped over and narrowly missed his foot! I turned white. The truck they brought was not big enough. They had to go and offload it and return. That took them 4 hours. We had to walk behind them around the house because they would constantly not grab all the boxes from rooms but close the door and say it was all done. Always an argument ensued. Things like yard equipment, glass and awkwardly shaped things were taken separately on the truck. When these guys arrived they had two trucks and just 3 people. As they opened the truck I saw one of my generators sitting upside down! The lathe was loosely strapped to the side of the truck sitting on the same material I provided. Things on it were bent and broken from bouncing around. All the yard equipment and awkwardly shaped items were just stuck in tall garment boxes. Trim pieces from my truck I had just painted were scratched and rubbed through. Ruined. Boxes were crushed. The guy with the "broken foot" kept limping around. John hardly did anything. Boxes were placed any which way pretty much anywhere. We had to insist and argue for boxes to be taken where they belonged. Things that went into storage were just chucked in and boxes placed right at the entrance. It was a mess. We gave up on having the furniture put back together as we just wanted them to leave.

Full stop…read more My husband, 3-year-old and I had the opportunity to purchase one of my family's homes in my hometown of DC and things came about quickly and with lots of anxiety. Luckily, I found Tori and, even on the initial estimate walkthrough, she was immediately calming, and so "you-got-this!" that we really felt like we did. Once we hired Tori, she came in like a well-organized storm and got us into a groove that even felt good to a feverish sickie like me (I had a bad cold which was kicking my butt); she recommended and coordinated a phenomenal experience with a great moving company, got us packed (with the exception of the art and record collection, which we left for the movers) within 3 sessions - while entertaining and including our rambunctious 3-year-old, taught us very doable future organizing tools for the new place and was a genuine blast to be around. And when we initially thought we'd be unpacking as soon as we arrived - instead of getting renovations done first as we settled on doing - she offered to put us in touch with a DC-based organizer or to come down and help us herself. Tori is a cut above the rest in professionalism, efficiency, resourcefulness and just general goodness. For such a quick move, we had an excellent experience from start to finish, and that is entirely thanks to Tori.

Yes, techincally you can just dig in and declutter yourself, but when you engage Tori you get several benefits: 1) You carve out a designated time to do this activity 2) Because you're investing in it, you take it very seriouslyi 3) You're saving all the "trial and error" you'd normally get when trying to DIY, which can waste your time and money (if buying mutliple "organization solutions") 4) You get very pro advice! 5) You wouldn't be researching an organizer if you would've done it yourself! Regarding #3: Just having Tori show up and say "do this, change that, get rid of this, and implement these systems" accomplished a home transformation for us in 4 hours. If I tried to do that on my own time, it would've taken 25+ hours, or never have been done properly. I'm so grateful for the time we had with Tori, and I fell in love with our apartment all over again.

    I spoke to Clarence who identified himself not as the owner but as the manager (more on that…read morelater). The initial Red Flag was during the conversation I mentioned the need for certain documentation from him to go forward (Basically licensing information, and Insurance Information) as asking for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is INDUSTRY STANDARD for a move like this. I received IMMEDIATE Push Back and was told that I didnt need said information and that I could get his licensing and bonding information from LARA (Michigan Licensing And Regulatory Affaris) which I did: [Federal License: They hold a valid federal license under USDOT #2303845] and their other license [They are registered as a domestic profit corporation in Michigan (ID: 800705051)] What i couldn't get is Bonding and or the COI ...which i need to protect ny inventory and myself from damage, and or loss. As I said this is Industry standard. I explained this to Clarence and was told that I would recieve that information at a later time after further discussions. Fast forward I talked to Clarence yesterday to confirm that he would recieve an inventory list by no later than close of Business today 5/8/2026 !! He's assured me at the time of our last phone call that that was suitable. We stayed late into the evening yesterday creating an itemized inventory list for Clarence.....only to be told today that he couldn't do it because he has another big move scheduled for "The Government" i dont know how true this is but I find it highly suspicious that 1) he did t call this morning to let us know that he couldn't complete the move which most assuredly could be the case......but in the name of professionalism and the time we have spent on the phone wouldn't it be standard to let us know? Secondly in MY OPINION I think he didnt like the verbiage that was used in the inventory email j. That it specifically asked again for the COI, and ending information as is STANDARD in this business. in our first conversation he told me that he had never been asked for that type of information before and I explained to him at that point, that when doing business with multi million dollar businesses you have to do everything right, he then went kn to tell me how many rich people from the lions and mentioned doing a move for the Taubman estate etc....which is fine but asking for a COI is standard......I feel as if Clarence is operating without being Bonded or without the proper insurance to protect not only the belongings of my company but of anybody he is moving. Again this is my opinion based off of my conversations with him and his subversive responses. He may very well have these very important documents and insurance im not saying that he doesn't what I am saying is that people need to be careful. He has cause me to lose valuable time. I did however call another moving company who gave me without question the documents that I asked for and I am looking forward to this move albeit at a higher price than expected. I would simply like to remind Mr. Clarence (Still dont know why he didnt identify himself as the owner instead of making it appear as he was someone else employed there) thay doing good business is paramount to being g considered great in the business world I own a Mortage company and a Real Estate Brokerage the referrals alone could have netted you a an upwards of six additional figures a year... but you moved Mr. Taubman so maybe you didnt need the business we could have thrown your way. People be very careful and cross all "T's" and dot all "I's" Time was wasted here and after reading the reviews on here and on Google as well as further research I now understand why MY Response to His Response: Sir at NO TIME, ot ONCE, have said anything Negative about YOU or Your Business what I did HONESTLY and EFFECTIVELY was communicate my experience with your business. What I did attempt to do is offer some of what I hoped would be deemed as valuable feed back from one Black Business owner to another. As far as me claiming to be a CEO I never stated that; What I DID say was that I am a success bussineman. As far as me being a disgruntled ex or former employee... sir I can surely attest to you that we do not know each other nor have we ever met outside of the few conversations that we had. What I can tell you is this: I tried to use this as a learning experience for you,your business and for the consumer who doesn't think about things like insurance that movers are supposed to have when moving their belongings personal or professional and what amount of liability is covered in the case of property being damaged, lost or stolen and how to protect themselves as well as trying to help you with the refinement of your communication skills. I felt that I was obligated as a black professional to make sure I did my due diligence to help you better yourself and your business as others have done for me jn the same context

    And one more thing---as to threatening some 'white man who I don't know'...... Clarence Joe Nelson…read moreinappropriately involved his 'friend' indicating that his 'friend' was going to charge me $2300 for delivering my medical property that had NEVER been placed in climate controlled storage. Clarence Joe Nelson lied on his 'friend' who had no involvement and who I trust runs a reputable business. Unsure why Clarence Joe Nelson has to specify his friend's race as that should not be an issue in friendship, in business or in the world in general. As importantly, friends should not tell lies on friends. Clarence Joe Nelson, you know your 'friend' did not say what you alleged he said. Respect that man and keep his good name out of your bad mouth. Update--same day! I'm so glad that Clarence Joe Nelson is now confessing all of his lies. Perhaps he is not a hopeless case??? As long as he was overcharging me, being a bully and just outright lying while doing a money grab each month, there was no problem. Clarence Joe Nelson has written a lot that can be distracting and a bit humorous. The fact is that he was paid for a job, did it improperly and lied about it. At no time did he have permission to leave my property in a moving truck. Perhaps this is special service for friends and family? It seems he's told so many lies that he's believing them himself. Rather than resolving this matter, he digs his heels deeper into the mire of his own creation, all while attempting to sully the good name of those he 'loves'. What CJN is driven by is avarice, false pride, and an unhallowed disregard for the truth and righteous behavior. He awakens to spew lies from his mouth and to manipulate and bully anyone who he can--especially if you happen to be a woman. Doing what is right and just is a foreign concept to him. It shouldn't be, because he was taught better. I know he was. He has chosen to secure himself in a house of lies that is impervious only to the truth. Yes, I am a doctor as CJN keeps emphatically stating. However, my area of expertise is not in diagnosing those with serious mental challenges. As Clarence Joe Nelson continues to post in this format, certainly several diagnoses for which I really think he needs to seek treatment do come to mind. I chuckle when thinking that the last time I encountered anyone who could match Clarence Joe Nelson in lying was when I was in I was in 8th grade. Perhaps CJN is still there mentally. Update 10/08/2025: For each lie Clarence Joe Nelson (CJN) and Top Notch posts, I'll post the truth. Move date--7/2023. I've posted a pix of a text from CJN (dated 9/02/2025) confessing that he has kept my medical items in his truck--not in storage. As indicated, I paid 710/month for one year then a minimum of $1000/mo for 13 months up thru 7/2025 only to find out CJN lied about having my items in storage. We are in agreement on one matter--he should feel stupid because stupid is as stupid does. When a business owner has the audacity to cheat a customer and then attempt to disparage their reputation, that's a really, really stupid move. Update 10/07/2025: Unfortunately this issue has not been resolved, but has deteriorated. My personal and professional property is now being held hostage and the owner, Clarence Joe Nelson, is making threats of taking some unreasonable action against me although he is 100% in the wrong and admitted he did not fulfill the contract---I've got proof if anyone is interested. Freedom of information is a good thing. I'm gagged at the fact that at the time of my move, I rewarded the owner with a hefty $$$ tip. He deserves the 2025 "SHAME ON YOU AWARD"! Requested packing up my medical office and home items and storage of all items in a climate controlled environment. The home packing went well. The office pack up was unsupervised and many items were left. I had to hire another mover to pack and store the remaining items. I've been paying a hefty price over the past 24 months to store my items, only to have the owner of Top Notch, Clarence Joe Nelson, disclose to me that he never off loaded my medical office equipment into storage, but has kept them on his moving truck all this time. That is a Bottom Rung thing for a business to do!!! If anyone is interested, I've got receipts of every payment I've made and text messages from the owner admitting that my items have not been properly stored. This is so DISTRESSING.     We've used these guys for multiple moves within the house, when we had to move heavy furniture…read morearound to accommodate kids moving back in for awhile, etc., and for that these guys are ok, although the last time they scratched wood stairs and the exercise equipment they were moving, perhaps because they didn't have enough guys, and/or didn't use a belt. They did know ahead of time exactly what they were moving. The more distressing thing is the condition of furniture that was put in storage. They did not plastic or blanket wrap antique wood furniture, or box lamp shades, so that we have several badly scratched table tops and a broken Tiffany glass lamp shade. They didn't even think to cover the floors moving furniture in and out in the middle of winter when they were going through slush to get to the trucks, and when I covered the entrance they kicked the covering aside and walked on the floor anyway. These guys are young, friendly and do their best, but they are not professionals, and not even trained to move things correctly.

They were very friendly and only took the minimum quoted time to complete the job. I was able to get a quote via a text with 15 minutes and all the paperwork was flawlessly emailed to me immediately. Never really considered them for moving furniture between floors but they got it done. Highly recommend them and don't forget they now can handle the removal of "junk/unwanted" items too.
