All Directions Moving broke the base of my television during my move. The company did not offer to replace it. It would've been fairly inexpensive because it was not a new tv. Instead they decided, after I requested a replacement, to glue it back together with JB Weld. They said they couldn't find the same model on eBay. Weeks past. I withheld payment. They delivered the glued tv and I paid them wanting to settle the issue. A few weeks later the tv separated from its base falling monitor first on the floor. I called the company and their response was "we will call you back". I called back, they didn't. It's been over 5 months. Good company if you don't encounter any problems. read more

Best moving experience I've ever had. All Directions movers were fast, pleasant, knowledgeable, and very careful with our belongings. They wrapped and padded our furniture thoroughly -- so much so that this move felt like a culture-shift compared to moves I've had with other companies. Setting up the appointment was a breeze, and the initial estimate was accurate. Communication with the movers was great. Our move was complicated as that some of our belongings were going on a truck to take to our new home, and some were going into a PODS storage unit. I strongly urge you not to use this company if you value your time, your belongings and your sanity. Enclosing pictures to illustrate the experience we had. My experience: - Walk through was fine and John seems nice and trustworthy. We hire them. - Moving day they are running late. Some sort of confusion with the truck. John isn't present. The team appears to have no leader or experience. - The team neglects to cover their shoes. Mud is tracked in all over the carpet upstairs of our rental. This comes out of our security deposit. John offers to send a carpet cleaner but never follows through (this turns into a pattern... a lot of promises with no follow through). - they show up without tools to disassemble large furniture (part of the agreement). I have to borrow an Allen wrench from a neighbor. - Despite living in a 1200 sq ft home the team is unable to fit it all into the truck in one trip. We have to do two runs, which runs up the cost. - We've asked them to dispose of old boxes as part of our agreement. On the second run, they pile the boxes for recycling in with the rest of our belongings. Later, when we arrive at the house, they can't find several items because they are buried in the boxes. It takes an hour to dig through the mess and make sure everything is accounted for. See picture below. - We learn afterwards that they've forgotten an outdoor item at the old house, completely broken a living room chair, scratched our son's dresser and scraped the corner of our freshly painted kitchen in an 8' wide doorway. What follows was the worst part: A three month attempt at reconciliation with multiple unreturned texts, emails and calls resulting in promises to get back to me from John (if I managed to get ahold of him), but absolutely no follow through. The company currently still has my broken chair (which they promised to fix or refund) but has stopped responding to me. I'm assuming I will never see this item again. I cannot keep chasing them for a resolution and now not only have they broken my property, but they have stolen it. After weeks of no response I have initiated a process with the Better Business Bureau. I hope to save someone else from working with this company and dealing with the extreme frustration this has caused me and my family. read more

I contracted All Directions to move me from an apartment to a house in Ann Arbor at 10:00am. The movers did not show up. 20 minutes after my appointment, I contacted the company, and an employee, Phil, assured me they were on the way. 45 minutes later, I contacted the company a second time, and Phil once again assured me the movers were on their way. At 12:00pm, two hours after my original appointment, I called a third time, at which point the company stopped answering their phones. I e-mailed the owner (Jon) and he never responded to the e-mail. At 1:30, after I had already rented a UHaul to move myself, the company finally contacted me with a story about two people on the schedule with the same name and a mix-up, and offered to have a crew at my house at 2:00. They ended up sending a crew to unload the UHaul that I had loaded at no charge. It was nice of the company to not charge me, but I was still left frustrated and disappointed, especially given the largely positive online reviews. Nobody ever contacted me to follow up, and my e-mail to the owner went unanswered. If All Directions had simply communicated more clearly, I would have been a happy customer. read more

I've used All Directions moving twice now. The first time, in February, was AWESOME. They moved me on Super Bowl Sunday in the middle of a Snow-pocalypse. They were quick, friendly and efficient. Since then, I have recommended All Directions Moving to all of my coworkers who have used them and provided them with a bit of good business. However, when we called them again for an August move of our one bedroom apartment from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti, things already seemed different. I called and provided all of my information about the move to Jon, but I was told to send them an email with all this information to their email address. I was told that they would then send me a confirmation and an estimate via email in return. So, I sent an email with our address, our new address and a description of our furniture and belongings to be moved. That email confirmation (or any response) never came. A week before the move, I called again to confirm. Good thing I did, as he had the wrong date for our move on his calendar and was planning to arrive a week early. We got things straightened out. I got an estimate and Jon and his crew were going to arrive at 10am with a 26 foot truck (because we would rather have too much room than not have enough). All seemed like it was going to go well. The day of the move, they arrived at 11:30 (1.5 hours late) without call or notice. When I contacted them, Jon explained that he had to exchange our 26 foot truck for a 16 foot truck, which I thought was strange as he said he would "rather have too much room than not enough room." I later found out that he was moving another customer at the same time, and he likely needed the bigger truck for them. So, this small truck arrives and the crew begins the move. I can instantly tell that the truck is not going to be large enough and that multiple trips (from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti) are going to be needed. So, the whole point of going with a cheaper company is completely moot at this point when you are paying by the hour. It ended up taking 6+ hours, and when you are paying $80 an hour, it was approaching $600 to move a one bedroom apartment from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti. If you do go with All Directions, make sure to get confirmation and a written estimate from them in advance. We ended up paying out the nose and over-paying compared to other companies estimates who complete the move based on the job, not by the hour. I want to support this small business, but they really consistently dropped the ball on this one. read more

Moved from Ann Arbor to Adrian and these guys were able to do everything in one day. It ended up costing a little more than quoted due to them having to do a little bit of packing for us. My advice: remove everything from your drawers and pack into boxes. We didn't do this because our last moving company told us we didn't need to. John is knowledgable and just gets things done. If you have Coco running the crew, rest assured your items will be moved as quickly as possible without damage. Highly recommend these folks for your move! read more

I used All Directions Moving for a move within Ann Arbor, which was originally scheduled with packing on one day and moving on the next day. My experience ended up leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth, for a few different reasons. First, our crew didn't seem very organized. The first day (packing day), the three-person crew assigned to my move showed up with a moving truck but no packing materials because they mistakenly thought they were doing a move on that day. They ended up canceling packing entirely on that day and did the pack and move together the next day, making the whole process much longer on the second day. Halfway through packing, they ran out of tape. How does a moving company not bring enough tape for a job? Additionally, our crew didn't seem very careful. It's easy enough to laugh off some of the things, like how the top of my canopy bed was installed upside down or how a food processor somehow ended up packed in a trash can. But others were less funny -- it was raining on the day of the move, but the movers didn't wipe their feet or lay down enough padding on the floor of my carpeted apartment and ended up dragging a lot of mud in as they moved. By the end of the move, the white carpet was badly stained near the entrances to the apartment. When interacting with city workers and my neighbors, our crew didn't seem very professional. The 26' moving truck was parked in such a way that it blocked trash pickup for about 5 houses beyond ours on the street. Our crew refused the request by the trash collectors to move the moving truck, and as a result trash did not get collected for a number of my neighbors. When one of the neighbors complained to a member of the crew about how her trash did not get picked up, the crew member told her, "What do you want me to do about it?" Finally, I was really rubbed the wrong way by an interaction with the crew chief, Alex. I had asked him if AD Moving could help with the carpet they stained, either by cleaning it or by paying for any cleaning ordered by my landlord. Alex promised that after the move he would bring a carpet steamer to the apartment to clean it, and he said he would call me within an hour of leaving to schedule a time to drop by. An hour came and went, and I got no reply to multiple calls and a text trying to schedule the carpet cleaning. Needless to say I stewed over this interaction as I was on my hands and knees applying carpet cleaner at 11 p.m. after a long day of moving -- if Alex changed his mind about steaming the carpet, he should have given me a call and told me so. I'll wrap up the review by saying that I'm bummed it was so negative. There were a number of positives to the crew -- they were delightful in interactions with me and my family, they worked fast, and they ended up completing the move on time and with no damage to my belongings. I and my family have used this company for the last 12 years for local moves, a one bedroom entire house into and out of storage, moved my mother between Assisted Living places, moved a 4 bedroom house across town. All seamless. Crew personable and efficient. I called them to move some seasonal heavy objects up and down stairs, and they refused to take payment because the job was so quick. Rating is 1 star unless I hear back from the owner, John Hahn. After speaking to John on the phone to schedule the move everything seemed fine. He answered the phone quickly and was fairly responsive. Got an email quote before I hung up the phone. I had asked about insurance options but he assured me that because I was coming from an apartment building that referred me to him, I wouldn't have to worry about getting additional insurance, and if anything happened, he would take care of it. The 1 star is for the movers who were courteous and serviceable. I'd give them 2 stars but I don't want to attribute extra stars to the current situation I'm having getting a hold of someone at the company. The movers showed up close to on time and did what they were supposed to do. They took a little longer than quoted even though we actually had less stuff for them to move than when the original estimate was made. Some things were damaged and walls were dinged/scratched. But, fine, things happen and they're moving heavy furniture. The -4 stars is for the lack of communication on the day John and I were supposed to meet at 5pm to review some of the damage from the move to either fix or get some kind of compensation in order for me to have the stuff fixed. John didn't show up and all of a sudden phone calls weren't being answered after he answered the phone previously pretty quickly. I had previously called during the scheduling process at 7pm and he answered within 2 rings. Now nothing. Very annoyed especially since I left work early to meet him. Update 1: John called an hour later and said that there was a scheduling mix up. Okay. Asked to meet again tomorrow at 5pm. Alright. Guess I'll leave work early again to give it a shot. Update 2: He called the next day at 1pm saying that he was on his way back from Kentucky and wouldn't be able to make it by 5pm. Asked if someone else could come in his place. I said sure so long as that person is authorized and capable of doing what he's able to do as owner. He then asked if I needed packing supplies, thinking that I was trying to schedule a move. And not an assessment of damage. I get it. You're a busy guy. But come on. After some additional discussion and rehashing of details he offers to come another day so that he could see the damage and try to repair things. I reminded him that the damaged furniture was heavy large and not easily transportable. Yeah they're movers but this becoming a pain in the ass and I want to move on with my life, and not wait for him to schedule a meeting he can make only to have to schedule another time to have the guys to move this stuff and wait some more for repairs and then wait to schedule it to come back. All the while hoping that the work they did was acceptable. I requested that they just cut a check for me to just either hire someone on my own or buy the materials myself to do the repairs. He agreed and said to email him photos and a value. I did just that later on that night. I'm upping my review to 2 stars. We'll see if he actually follows through. Update 3: sent the email and photos Friday night. Had to follow up with another text and email on Monday. Nothing. Called Tuesday and he said a check would be put in the mail Wednesday and should get to me by Friday. Let's see what happens. Update 4: It's Saturday and no check. Not surprised. I'll give him another day and call on Tuesday. Theyre located in Dexter so even if they took an extra day to cut the check and mail it, it shouldn't take very long to get to me in Ann Arbor. Update 5: another week. no check. 2 Fridays now that have passed since I was told I could expect the check. Guess there's nothing left to do but to keep calling every Monday morning and to be told that Sandi is putting the check in the mail this week with payroll. Dropping my review to 1 star again. If I ever get that check this place will be lucky to sniff to 2 stars. Update 6: now over 3 weeks since I was told a check would be on its way. I was told this morning the check was returned to them in the mail. And to call back in a couple of days when John returns from his move in Ohio. At that point he said he would deliver the check which I very much feel like is be an opportunity for "I don't know where the check is, I put it in your mailbox." My offer to stop by the office to get the check myself was met with "I'm not sure when Sandi, accounting and payroll, is in the office. At this point, not optimistic But I'll keep updating. Update 7 and hopefully final update: amazingly got the check today. Lost count of how long it took. John delivered the check. Seems like a nice guy. Probably doesnt have staff for this stuff. Check Looks legit. Hopefully doesn't bounce:dated July 3 which was after I was told the check was in the mail. Back to 2 stars because I got the check and I don't think John was malicious in his delay. But ffs. This should have been smoother and I shouldn't have felt like i was being duped. read more

Our experience with All Directions Moving was positive in every way. They were flexible in working with us as our moving dates changed because our new home was not completed on schedule. More importantly they packed and moved our items with care - including our antique furniture and several fragile art pieces. We have used John and All Directions for three different moves, and we will use them again when our condo sells. We have had different teams of All Directions movers, and all of them work tirelessly. We did one long-distant move from Florida to Michigan using a different company, and we know how bad it can be. All Directions does the job the right way. I was more than satisfied with my recent experience with all directions. We booked to have our truck loaded only. Our movers Cord and Julian arrived on time and were polite and very easy to communicate with. They did an excellent job of packing everything into the truck so that it was about 90% full, with took a great deal of calculation and consideration. I was hoping for better given the reviews, unfortunately that was not the case! I have never written a negative review, because most business service is okay or good. However, given the great disappointment and bad service that I received from this company it was more than sufficient to warrant a review. I called All Directions Moving and spoke to Jon a month and a week in advance to my moving date. This was after a few calls since they are awful at picking up their phone. At the time Jon told me that the date and time would work and that they did not have any bookings scheduled for my desired date. He asked that I email him the details of my move so that he can added to his schedule once he returned to his office. He also indicated that he would call me back to confirm. He never did! Not only did he not call or email back but when I called two weeks before my move to confirm, given his lack of follow-up, he told me they could not do it because they were having a "company picnic" on the date of my move. Excuse me? You said the date and time was fine when we spoke! He tried to fix it and was "looking for my email" and would call me back. He never did! Not only did he not call me back, again, but he did not respond to a subsequent voicemail that I left 2 days later. Now I am left the week of my move trying to find a new mover despite booking with this company with more than sufficient notice. So frustrating! Suggestion, get help for managing your business! Best of luck if you choose to use these guys who don't follow through and lack common business sense. read more

They not only efficiently moved a new refrigerator into my home but installed the fridge as well. The movers were great. Very helpful and no complaints, they did come 30 minutes late (called ahead) and took an hr for lunch. However the estimate I received was less than half of the actual job, granted I did have additional stuff but 2x is a bit extreme. They also say they will price match, they did not. Glad the move is over and the guys did a good job. Don't feel great about their office and how they refused to price match (even tho it says they do on their estimate) and how they underestimated the time it took. read more

If I could give no stars I would. They broke a leg off a dresser, broke our yard light, while moving furniture into the house. Broke our stairway light moving furniture out of our old house. Then to top it off they were moving our refrigerator into our new house and dropped it on its face off our porch, which broke a trim piece and dented our brand new refrigerator. They promised us they would fix it, as they didn't want to replace it. But after a year of trying to get them to take our calls and promises of the parts arriving soon which never did. All Directions did a great job with our in-town move on a humid day. They moved our one-bedroom apartment (sofa, TV, queen bed, etc.) in less time than expected and were very courteous and professional. The only complaint I could add was that they arrived a few minutes late, but that is extremely common for movers and wasn't an issue. These guys were great for us. Made arrangements on short notice and they came through big for me. Not only that but they helped me move in the middle of the winter. They are a small start up run by a couple of younger guys. But they work hard and do a very good job. Their rates were normal for the area. They also will do dumping for you if you need them too. I have nothing but absolute praise for my move. Arrived on time. Had small apartment with minimal furniture and most of it is from Ikea. They took the time to wrap all furniture in blankets and couch, mattress and box spring in clear wrap. Everything was loaded in the truck in 75 minutes. I was moving to an area 48 miles north. I was informed prior to leaving they were going to take a break get something to eat and that would be reflected on the final paperwork. So I assumed 30 minute break 1 hour travel time. They arrived right on time based on my assumption. Truck was unloaded, blankets removed and wrap in 40 minutes. All 3 employees were professional kind courteous. I would definitely use the company again if they will service my area if I ever move again which I probably will. read more

Amazing! Would highly recommend! My life was jam-packed in boxes on a 28 foot truck, loaded to the ceiling. All Directions Moving unloaded the truck in record time on a 90 degree plus day. Extreme care was used with my boxes and furniture as they brought pieces into the house. Despite the heat and the amount of items to move, they stayed dedicated throughout the job. I only hired them for their labor as I did not need a truck and they were very quick in their loading and unloading of all of my items.
