I've had numerous items delayed for days in the Jacksonville post office. One package was delayed for five days, then delivered to a small town in Costa Rica. When I eventually received the package, I noted it was addressed correctly. I live in Central Florida, about 3 hours south of Jacksonville. In my experience, Amazon packages are not delayed. Absolutely horrible. Their website and all information says they open at 8:00 during the week. Went on 6/9 at 8:35am and the cash register area was all still unopened/locked up. I asked one of the employees I saw if I could buy stamps and she said she didn't know when the individuals who worked in that area would be there and she did not have a key to the stamps. Came back on Saturday. Walked in 6/11 at 12:02. Extremely rude employee yells at me from behind the counter- I'm closed!!! I'm only helping last person in line. Last person in line says you can have my spot because she just needs to drop something off. This woman proceeded to yell at me and say uh ugh I'm closed!!! It's incredibly horrible service. Not open when they say they should be. When they are open they yell at you. The only reason I wanted to come here is to get stamps besides the normal flag ones. Building looks decent on the outside, but the inside is very dated. Had to mail a certified letter and once I made it to the counter. The employee told me get out of line to fill out the label for the certified mail which took like 30 seconds, although there was no one behind me at the time. As I'm filling out the label the line starts to form and of course I'm stuck behind 4 customers as opposed to just mailing out something I've already stood in line for. After stuck in horrible traffic I managed to walk in the door with 3 min to spare before 5:30 with a big box going to my nieces and nephews overseas and your 3 employees are just standing there saying no they're closed now and you can't take a minute to take an order? I had everything filled out already, all you had to do was process it. I begged them and they said come back tomorrow. March 25, 2019. They need to fix what's going on here. As customers our time is valuable because our time valuable. Why waste time? There at least fifteen people standing in line. At 1 pm on a Monday. Waiting. Sharing humor, feeling annoyed. Most of all, unimportant because you had one employee. The other was out to lunch. How about hire a 3rd??? How about more customer service at a higher standard of excellence? Or does that not fit into the question.? I had to tape my own sides of the box, wait an hour and a half and watched many people leave the lines because time didn't allow them to wait. Not at all smooth, snails pace, no eye on customer. The post office has a terrible reputatiion. This post office is the poster child of HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had a package shipped 1/8/2019 2 day priority. It did not even get scanned into the system until the 13th. Called the P.O. on the 15th to see what was going on. That wad the day they claimed I would have the package. I was told it was not late as it was only shipped on the 13th. I said that was impossible as the 13th was SUNDAY. They still say not late until the 18th. Not here on the 18th. This post office is a regular stop for me because if my work location. This post office is poorly staffed at all times and hasn't had proper management in years. They removed an outside box from the parking lot at least 6 months ago and never replaced it. Today the automatic stamp machine stopped working completely. There is rarely more than 1 clerk working the desk, even when they have 10 or more people in line. I have been in there before when there was nobody at the counter and had to wait around to see if someone was going to show up. It's literally one of the worst post offices I've ever dealt with. If you have a choice, head somewhere else. read more

When I realized that my box was too big to go to the self-service kiosk. I groaned at the realization of having to wait in line for a USPS employee to help me. Oh well, off I go... This location is not bad. It being the holiday season and being midday, I knew that it was going to be very busy. The lines were long for both the kiosk and the employees so it was really a no-win situation. One of the employees in the back actually came out and helped people in line with what envelopes they needed, if they had the right postage, the correct forms, etc and another started helping customers off to the side with the smaller priority envelopes. Glad they're paying attention back there. I waited about 30 minutes to make it to the front on the line to be helped. Worst PO I have ever been in. One line open, 10 people in line. Really? The supervisor just walked around doing busy work, putting more labels out where none were needed, putting more empty boxes in the holder where none were needed. She couldnt get on a register and get the line down? She seemed like she was walking around looking for a confrontation. In fact, one lady asked her a question about some boxes they were selling and she snipped at her, told her to wait till she put her boxes down. 1st and last time. Please believe the others, this place is not worth your time. It seems like you really cant get fired from the PO.. This location has always been an easy loaction to get in and out. I always get annoyed when post offices are so small and when it gets busy, they are busting at the seams. This location is spacious with a lot of room to get your mail together if need be. I knew better than to try to go inside the post office to mail something so close to Christmas. At 4:00pm when most are getting off of work the parking lot was packed with cars. Only two spaces let, I got one and ran inside thinking just maybe most people were just dropping off and leaving quickly. Nope...not the case. The line was to the door going into the post office, but I'm still giving this post office 5 Stars because they have been so extremely helpful and patient each and every time my mother and I come here. It's not fair to give this post office a lesser rating status because they have a line so close to Christmas. I'm rating them on the experience I've had with them all year round. Never have I been there and had to deal with a rude employee at the counter. Post office workers often get talked about in a negative way whereas a phrase was created just because of them...."going postal". However, I must say, I cannot use this negative phrase to describe the workers at this particular post office because each one have been extremely kind and professional AND patient. I can't speak for the other post offices however, because I did go to the larger post office on Beach and it was not as good and the employees were not has friendly. This post office also stays open fairly late from what I'm used to back home in the D.C. area. So a big thumbs up for this post office and to the employees who work here. read more

Last Monday (April 2) we dropped off a package in this location for Kennesaw GA (roughly 7 hours from Jacksonville). We paid for certified mail, and for the package to arrive before April 8 (time sensitive issue). USPS said it would arrive by Thursday April 4. Great! Right? WRONG!!! Well, it's April 13 and the package hasn't arrived yet, not even at Kennesaw's USPS!!! @USPSHelp on Twitter says it was First Class mail (which is not true, see pictures) and it takes between 7-12 days... The last update on the package is from April 7th: "In transit to next facility". It departed from Atlanta GA on April 4th and since then it's been "in transit to next facility". Kennesaw is roughly 1 hour away from Atlanta and it has taken 7 days and counting?! This USPS mistake is costing us money that we will never get back from USPS!!! I've been to this location twice now. I'm not a regular customer and both times I went there wasn't during peak hours, so the lines are short or there's none at all. Overall experience was pleasant and the people who work there are great. Don't expect anyone to answer the phone when you try to call this location because it's never gonna happen. I've tried calling this place several times, peak or non-peak hours. They just let it ring until you give up calling them. read more

First they didn't have padded packaging when it says they do online (I understand supplies run out) and so she handed us a box and told us to go to the back of the line. We waited until we spoke to a different person. He told us we needed to fill something out. We step aside and begin filling it out. As we finish, he closes up the store and the military officer in uniform says "wait, can you take my package I'm almost finished?" And he says "no it's 5:30" and walks out. Typically I dread going to the post office, the line is always long, and the workers could care less. Well on this particular day the line was extremely long and I was on my lunch break. I knew I needed a flat rate envelope for the best price by my research online so I was helping myself over in the supply area. To my surprise a postal worker came out and asked if I needed assistance. He helped me choose the correct size envelope, advised me on pricing and explained how I could purchase the postage on the automated machine and save some time as that line was much shorter. Once I finished my purchase I saw him in the back assisting another patron with picking up mail and he politely assisted me with where to place the postage and also took the package to be mailed. The worst! Cranky and miserable people working up there. One in particular is the black woman on the first register once you walk in with eyelashes that weighs about 20 lbs each. She can't even open her eyes because it weighs so heavy. Why? Why do that to yourself? It's not cute. I've been in and out of post office for a year and my encounter with her has never been pleasant. I avoid her and wait for someone else but she gets butt hurt and always has something smart to say. She is the rudest and the most miserable woman ever. Hopefully post master catches up to her and replaces her with someone that wants to be there and work. She literally clocks in and clock out and drags her feet. I have no idea where they get this lady from! From the review below- maybe "Sharon" is her name. People are consistently complaining about her online, and IN THE LINE, yet she is still there. She and the other African American guy that works there in the afternoon are just awful. I inquired about a PO Box, she stated they are out of applications. -What should I do next I asked- "I suggest you go to another Post Office" was her response. I did just that and went to UPS. The premium is higher, but is it's worth NOT having to deal with these people. What about online applications or any other suggestions- NOPE. It almost seems like she gets a kick out of ruining your day. She's like that with EVERY encounter. I avoid her like the plague.
