I was tickled pink finding this post office. Why? Because they were open until 6 PM on a Saturday. Seriously when have you ever heard of such a thing? To me it's the equivalent of a Christmas miracle! That being said, I had several envelopes with gifts to mail out. It was now or never because I'm the queen of procrastination. Anyway, Michelle attended me and she was great. She was polite, efficient, and even wished me a happy Mother's Day with a warm smile. I don't have anything negative to say about my experience at this location. It is huge, offers extended hours, and you had several employees. What's not to love? I want to report something that happened at the USPS location at 7415 Commonwealth Ave, Jacksonville, FL on April 30th, 2024. I came in to drop off a package. I'm Chinese, and the moment I stepped up to the counter, the woman working didn't greet me, didn't even look me in the eye--she just grabbed my mail and tossed it across the counter like it didn't matter. When I asked a basic question, she muttered something under her breath that felt targeted. I couldn't catch all of it, but the tone was off, and I walked away feeling like I was being disrespected because of how I look. What really got to me is how she treated the customer before me totally normal--friendly, no attitude. I honestly left there feeling humiliated and angry. It felt personal. And this wasn't just "bad service"--it felt like discrimination. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Someone needs to speak to her, or at least look into what's going on at this location. Worst post office I've dealt with. If you need something in a timely manner, don't use them. One time, when expecting a package, I saw the post truck through my window, sitting in front of my driveway. Front porch light was on, fully illuminating my door and house number. March 8, 2023, Mandarin USPS @ 2:10 pm. One window clerk not behind the counter. 9 customer's in line. Female clerk is trying to box and wrap an automobile front suspension strut. No other help in the lobby. I informed her preparing customer items for shipping is against the DMM. Domestic Mail Manual for outsiders and ignorant window clerks. UPS charges for preparing for shipping. I told the other customers that Northwest USPS is professional. I also told everyone that i should not have boxed and taped at home! This is a great post office because of the hours and the ease of shipping things out of here. All of the mail in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas will eventually end up at this main location. The customer service is OK. The staff is definitely not as friendly as my regular post office, but not a deal breaker. Overall, if you need to make sure your package needs to go out that same day and you didn't make it to your local branch--this is the place to take it. It's easy access off of the freeway, easy on and plenty of parking for their customers which makes this place awesome. Note: There's only a small mailbox accessible inside after hours so if you need to ship or just drop off a larger package you will have to come back another time as they don't have the large drop box available at this location for some reason. read more

You know, I used to hate going to this post office. You wouldn't Emily wait in line for a very long time and it never seemed to be a reason for it. This time when I went in there was maybe six people in line but the line moved quite quickly. Back up a little bit though, I came here to do a passport renewal. I originally went to the courthouse because they have a big sign in the courthouse that says you can do your passport application there so that's what I did. So then I filled out the application and brought it to the courthouse only to find out that they don't do renewals there. The nice guy at the courthouse pointed me off to the post office so I hopped in my car and tools over to this post office went in and pulled my ticket for the passport room only to find out that they don't do adult passport renewals there either. Fortunately I had already filled out my forms so I paid the $6.45 to mail it priority mail myself. Keep in mind that they are very picky about your passport photographs. So the last time I went to get my passport at the main post office which was about 15 years ago it was a huge line and I was there for probably three or four hours, this time there only appeared two be two people waiting ahead of me. I can't comment on the speed of the employees but the people didn't seem too agitated so they must not have been waiting as long as I waited last time I went there. Surprisingly this post office does not have one of those self-service computer kiosks where you can just put your package on the scale and pay with your debit card for the sticker of postage which is kind of unfortunate so essentially everyone is forced to wait in line. That's the only complaint I have about this particular location, the parking lot was a lot more clean than it has ever been in the past and it looks like they're really coming around. read more

Like the DMV, the post office has become an outing I utterly dread. Typically the lines are long, the service ranges from scraping by to cringeworthy, and with a simple service request you would think they have figured how to run this place efficiently out by now. Well hallelujah and praise his holy name, because this specific branch knows what they're doing! I was quite impressed with the reviews from my fellow YES! members, and decided to give them a run for my money, since it's not terribly out of the way from my San Marco digs. I have a two week Euro trip planned for March, and it was time to finalize all the passport details. Pro tip: make an appointment! You can confirm your time slot hours ahead of time. This is generally considered the main post office in Jacksonville. It has the best hours (open 7 days a week) and is very clean and well maintained. Besides the regular postal services and PO boxes, they also offer a small store and a passport office. read more

I wish I could give Linda who works in the passport office at the United States Postal Service on Kings Road 10 stars out of 10 she was just AMAZING!! I was a little bit early for my appointment and I was watching and listening to how she interacted with all the customers in front of me. I've been in the hospitality business for 30 years and she is truly a gem...very hard to find in office is like this. She was also very patient, caring, professional and gave a lot of assistance that she didn't have to and went the extra mile to help everyone..all by herself that day. Kudos to Linda!! read more

If you want quick service this post office branch would be the place to go. They have ample parking and is usually well staffed with knowledgeable people. The one branch close to me is always slow and my experience is usually frustrating. They also have passport office at this branch. Since this is the Main Post Office, the quality of service tends to be better. They're open till 9PM during weeknights, much later than other branches. The only negative is the location. I would not recommend it after dark. Overall, a great branch in the daytime. read more

Pretty happy I showed up right before they closed to get my passport. This is one of few post office that take walk-ins for your passport. They were very helpful in filling out the information I needed. It's huge and pretty nice inside. I will probably come back here if I need to and it's easy to find. read more

Wishing I could give them less then one star. Clearly everyone hates their job. And the older gentleman I wouldn't say gentleman to describe him but he was so rude it's the holidays I understand but I had gifts to bring in and me and my bestfriend had more then a few packages so he was already not thrilled when we walked in. We got in at 8:45 15 before they closed and my bestfriend went back to grab my last package it was a larger package he locked her out even though I was already inside with the order. So I decided to leave because if I can't ship them all there's no point. I even offered to pay him in cash for his time if he just gave me 5 minutes to ring them up. Then he wouldn't even let her in to help me carry all my multiple packages out! Resulting in me dropping and breaking an antique frame so Christmas is ruined and then I still had packages in and he locked me out then went to the back so I had to wait for him to come back from the back to let me in to grab my last 3 packages. I remained respectful through the entire experience despite never been treated so poorly. I ship stuff there often and never experienced customer service like this Velma always takes care of me and is amazing but he was the worst employee I've ever experienced. Velma is the only reason I will ever use that post office and the hours because I work late. But he should not be working around people what so ever he was horrible. He was an older man idk his I was just trying to get out of there! I get it's the holidays and it's stressful but we're also stressed to get everything out and some of us work late. I was amazed by this post office when I moved to Jacksonville from Chicago. The hours are amazing! I can always go in the late evening and not have a long waiting time. I also went once during lunch (11:45) and the line seemed quite long, however it was relatively quick and the attendants were pleasant. If you need to mail a package on the weekend, I definitely recommend double checking the weekend hours on their website. The yelp page is not accurate. It's not often I find myself at the post office but when I do I want fast service. My favorite thing about this particular location is they have extended hours which make it super convenient for those of us with a busy schedule. The employees are always friendly and helpful. There is a small store with cards, boxes, mailing supplies, etc which has come in handy in the past. All in all this is my favorite Jax post office. read more

As this is the main post office of the city, their hours are awesome. Open seven days a week and until super late during the weekdays. The workers here are fine and some are actually very friendly so in my books that's better than most post offices. They have PO Boxes as well as Passport Services at this location. Parking is no problem. And they're usually quick even when there are a lot of people. read more

I live on rushing street and I know for an absolute fact the carrier(s) for that area steals my pkgs.... There is not one time that I order something and it (unfortunately) has to come thru usps and I actually receive it. It always says "delivered" yet I don't get it one time I watched for the carrier to ensure I got my pkg the carrier came but had no pkg later that day it showed "delivered" this happens every. Time . I just read other reviews of people saying something they were expecting said delivered and they never received it and was blown away.... How ratchet rude and unprofessional im so glad that soon we won't need mail carriers because then they can sit their thieving selves at home and ponder why they are like they are. I pray constantly for God's vengeance for everyone they violate thinking we'll get it back so what's the harm, the harm is the inconvenience losers. read more

My package has been stuck at this post office for 2 weeks. I filed a claim with USPS since I am two hours away so it shouldn't take that long to get my package to me. USPS said they can't reach anyone on the phone at this office, and gave me the phone number to call. I have been calling and it just rings and rings and then goes dead. This isn't my local post office, but it's where I choose to come to mail all of my packages. I do a lot of artwork and it is shipped nationally and internationally. The postal workers at this post office do a wonderful job assisting with the many pieces I have to ship. There are supplies you can purchase, as well, which helps when I receive last minute orders and do not have envelopes handy. They are open late and the line moves faster than any other post office I've been to. read more

Post Office is not bred for speed, but it does have AC and the people, when you can get to the counter are good and do a good job. I was there to send out certified mail and get a copy of a signature on a certified letter I sent out the month before. Plenty of parking, this location had 4 people managing counters, the most i have ever seen at noon on a Monday, but still the line moved at a glacial pace. read more

November of 2020 package sent to me from out of state which there was to have it sent send it to Des paying needless to say I never received that package was told by the manager of the Jacksonville Florida 32208 that it was delivered then when I called back she said it wasn't delivered it said it was sent back to North Carolina long story short here it is I am waiting for another pocket I look up the tracking number it says delivered once again and it was to say I never received the package so my husband goes next door and guess what guy that was delivered next door so I can imagine what happened to my November package and you guys stick to the fact that it says delivered yet you don't do anything to try to figure out where someone's mail is at its ridiculous did France definitely need for switching management it's just ridiculous that you paid for delivery and then are you get on the phone with manager attitude saying we'll all we can tell you is delivered man that's all I can tell you what guess what guys my mail was delivered to my neck is a witness letter delivery person once again drop the mail to the walls resident so I would like to file a complaint on this specific Branch 32208 because it definitely needs to be addressed you cannot just be dropping off packages at other people's phones and then say delivered that is false that is fraud! Best believe I've already filed a formal complaint and this time something is going to be done about it because the preacher 32208 location is just not doing well with dropping off!!! These "honest" hardworking folks stole my package! I am not rich by any means and I can't afford to supply these people with clothes I ordered for myself. Really nice to see "gubament" employees able to steal from a single father who is broke and trying to do something nice for his son.
