Anyway, Michelle attended me and she was great. She was polite, efficient, and even wished me a happy Mother's Day with a warm smile. I don't have anything negative to say about my experience at this location. It is huge, offers extended hours, and you had several employees. What's not to love? I'm Chinese, and the moment I stepped up to the counter, the woman working didn't greet me, didn't even look me in the eye--she just grabbed my mail and tossed it across the counter like it didn't matter. When I asked a basic question, she muttered something under her breath that felt targeted. I couldn't catch all of it, but the tone was off, and I walked away feeling like I was being disrespected because of how I look. What really got to me is how she treated the customer before me totally normal--friendly, no attitude. I honestly left there feeling humiliated and angry. It felt personal. The location is dirty. The inside and outside both need a good cleaning. The employees don't want to be bothered -- to be polite to customers or answer the phone. I've had several carriers tell me that if they have a problem on their route, they need to have the cell phone number of someone in the building because they don't answer the phone. Nine times out of ten this is accurate. On more than one occasion I've had mail not delivered to my box, but scanned as delivered. I've watched carriers put mail in my box, but not leave packages where were scanned as delivered. When in inquired, I'd receive a geotag pic that it was scanned in my front yard. One more than on occasion we've gone out to get the mail and seen the carrier walking away, but the scanned package was not left on the porch near or in our mailbox. The worst was just before Christmas last year. I'd put our regular carrier's Christmas card which contained a gift card in the box with 2 small outgoing packages. They were polymailers. The sub that day took a card, not addressed to them but left the packages. I talked to my regular carrier the next day & was told "I'll never see that". I'm not receiving all of my mail and know for a FACT employees are stealing from other employees. The attitude from the local people you get in the phone is like how dare I bother them. They tell you to call JSO, but JSO doesn't have authority over them. The USPS has their own police force and you are supposed to get help from them. If your mail is delivered from this facility, I'm sorry. I've never encountered anything that has "service" this poor. A complete overhaul of management and staff is necessary.

Most of the post office is in Jacksonville are short staffed and over loaded with customers. I come to Verna post office at least once a week for items I sell online. I've had good experiences at this post office. The staff is always helpful! especially Tiffany, who assisted me with my passport renewal. While the lines can get long, they move efficiently. The interior is a bit outdated and could use some updating, but overall, it's a reliable location. People may not know this, but if you have a label on your package ready to go you can use the self-serve scanner before you get inside to the line. You can scan your package and then skip the line and drop it off to the side. Some post office etiquette for those who don't understand how the shipping system works: YOU HAVE TO SCAN YOUR PACKAGES BEFORE LEAVING THEM ON THE COUNTER. THEY WILL GET LOST! And that is on YOU! You should never leave without a receipt that you dropped off your package.

If the mail is too big or overflows they have a separate, bigger, box they place our parcels in. When I looked at the key it looked damaged, I tried both boxes to ensure they didn't give me the wrong key. When I called it was quick and efficient. The second payment was sent as a priority letter and scanned as insufficient address once it reached to this postal location. The last notification online was at 5:49pm 10/21/2025. The problem is the address is in fact sufficient because it isn't going to a tenants apartment because I haven't moved in yet. The letter is going to the rental office and the apartment complex name is also addressed on the envelope. This letter was shipped on 10/14/2025 at 3:25pm. It is 10/22/2025 and I decided to visit this postal location to see if my letter has already been returned even though it shouldn't have. A young lady with a pink and black postal shirt said she will have to call me back to locate my letter because she is unable to find it at this time. She said it could be buried in many other Return to Sender letters even though my letter was just scanned yesterday. This is unacceptable on the carriers part and I hope my situation can be resolved today so I can move into my new place.
