Always a pleasant experience here. I've been to almost every nail salon in Washtenaw county over the course of about 8 years, and this is my salon of choice. They are efficient when you're in a hurry or if it's a busy day, yet still make sure you walk away with detailed cuticles and perfect polish. I've never had my shellac last over a week from other places, but somehow it always lasts from here. My hands are constantly in water or clicking around on a computer, but the polish still doesn't chip. I always go for OPI because I have a theory that it lasts longer, but really I think it's because the nail techs know what they're doing; especially the 2 more experienced ladies. Despite what that other reviewer wrote (who also plugged a shout out for a nearby competing salon, hmmm?) it is a clean establishment. It's not brand new but they use the same if not better standards for their equipment as any other salon. If you walk in and do have to wait, there is a cafe right next door and Carlyle Grill for drinks. You can even make a day of it and catch a movie right next door. Got a pedicure here the other night, and I was pretty impressed. They have these amazing back massage chairs that you can adjust and play with, and there are mini saunas at the foot (pun not intended) of the chair where your feet get jet bubbled while not being worked on. They have a wall of just OPI nail polish to pick from, and I was really happy with the results. The tools looked clean, and they give you foam flip flops so you can move to the drying station and hang out until your nails are done. Make sure to bring some cash though, there was a sign saying they take credit or debit, but cannot charge tips. read more

One of the worst fills I have ever received. Almost all my fingers were cut when filed down. None of my fingers on my left hand are the same length as my right hand (picture attached are of my pinky's). None of the tools were cleaned and the guy next to me doing a manicure was also cutting his own nails. I left the nail salon very disappointed with almost all of my fingers in pain from being cut. I was going to the movies with my niece, but our movie was sold out so we had to wait until the next one. We had some time to kill and they were conveniently located next to Quality 16 (good thinking on their part). They seemed nice enough, but barely spoke English. They spoke amongst one another while they were doing our nails and the woman who did mine didn't really bother with making conversation. One thing that concerned me was the nail tools. I noticed when they did my nieces nails (she went first as they didn't have very many people working- only 1 lady doing manicures) that she brought out the tools on a tray but didn't open them in the sealed bag like most places do when they take them of the autoclave. This concerned me a bit. When she was done with my niece, she took the tools over to the sink, rinsed them off and her hands- no soap, and walked back to a room and came back out with a tray of tools. Again, not in a sealed bag (which I don't necessarily know if they need to be, the sealed bags have just been my experience at the majority of places I've gone too). The overall experience was okay, it sufficed for killing time. The paint job was just okay, not the greatest, but I didn't have to do it so that's good for me. However, I won't be going back there. My manicure was $15 and my nieces was $13. They did have a good assortment of polish and quite a bit of shellac colors as well. Offered drinks which was nice, and had 3 big screen TVs and they had a movie on. They did keep trying to update me to shellac, which to me is kind of annoying when they repeatedly ask. If you do go, I wouldn't have high expectations. One word to describe my experience - meh. read more

Instead, they rush through their services, make the water way too hot and make your suffer through it, do sloppy work and make me wish I would have just done it myself. They sat me down right away, I asked for the dip manicure. The lady wrapped my nails which is standard. Then she proceeds to file them down with the Dremel. She proceeds to go into her drawer and grab a used instrument to cut my cuticles and push them back. Not once did she soak my hands or grab new instruments to use on my hands. Then she passes me off to the gentleman who finishes up with the dip, he kept slapping my hand and telling me to RELAX what the hell does that even mean. I would give them 0 stars but you have to at least choose one. Health Department needs to be called! DIRTY!!!!! The only place I'll go. Always friendly, accommodating and cares about customer service. They are also very professional and do a great job every time. One of my main gripes about nail salons is that I have a hard time feeling comfortable for the duration of my service due to communication or the outside communication happening within the techs-- but I don't experience this here at all. They also are very gentle, which is a huge plus. Very clean space. Highly recommend! read more

They offer a deluxe pedicure, but their "regular" pedicure (28$) still included a scrub, lotion, and a hot stone massage. Awful. Looking for a salon that was actually still masking , I booked 3 mani/pedis for myself and my two daughters and I also requested a full set for myself. I have no idea who did any of our services because no names were offered. A man did my pedicure (he also drew the water for all of us which was way too hot) and not only was it the worst pedicure I've ever had (no exfoliation) I'm pretty sure my big toe is infected from something (hang nail? Ingrown?) he removed without warning which was very painful and resulted in his pouring some kind of powder on to stop the bleeding. After that he attempted to put on my full set which was a process that was almost painful to watch, he clearly had no idea what he was doing (gluing and re-gluing tips that kept popping off) and then applying some pink acrylic powder that looked anything but natural (I had requested a French with white tip). When I questioned the color he got an attitude. As my girls were already finished and he made me uncomfortable, I requested that he just remove the tips that hadn't already just popped off. At that, let's just say his attitude was expressed through the little nail saw on my nail bed. By that point I was just glad to leave without being permanently maimed or still bleeding. That being said, my girls were happy with the service they received from two polite ladies but I won't be returning. read more

I used to like this salon a few years ago, but after stopping by this last week I'd recommend NOBODY utilize their services. I *stupidly* got a full-set of acrylics, which ended up thick and uneven. Dirty floor, pedicure callus skin-flakes all over the place, dust-bunnies, dirt. Also, and this really was nasty, they were using pedicure tubs without cleaning between customers, AND using the same foot-scrubbers used previously. Staff were sullen and cranky. US Nails has been my salon of choice over the last year but the quality and cleanliness has steadily declined over time. I visited again this afternoon, a Wednesday afternoon at around 3:00pm, and the place was filthy. As I was already soaking in the foot basin I declined the offered manicure and continued on with the pedicure. I don't need to go into details but the level of service with the pedicure was minimal meaning very little massage, sloppy polish and questionable quality of cuticle and nail trim and finish. I watched as a staff member started running water into a visibly dirty basin and thought she was going to clean the basin but she put towels into the basin to dampen before folding and putting into the heater. Those towels are used to wrap your calves during a pedicure. Gross. The floor was disgusting, used slippers were left on the floor by the drying station as well as empty candy wrappers. I won't be back. At home with closer examination, all previous polish was not removed from toes, not all cuticles were even touched and one big toe is completely unfiled AND has noticeable cotton fuzz embedded in the toe polish. Now I am not happy at all as I completely wasted my money. read more

I went to this nail salon a few years ago and was not impressed. The staff was not very friendly. I heard there were new owners and decided to go back. OH. MY. GOSH. YOU. GUYS. I walked in around 5:30pm on a Friday to treat myself to a pedicure, and got seated right away. The technician I had was super friendly, and did a GREAT job massaging and scrubbing my achy feet. She did a fantastic job with the polish. After we were done I told her that I had two little boys at home, and this was rare "me" time. Since I had surprisingly gotten really into the cheesy made-for-tv movie on the big screen television, she said as long as they didn't need the chair that I could stay as long as I want. I stayed and used the massage chair for another half hour and finished watching the movie. They have made a new client into a regular client! The salon was clean and bright, and for $28 the pedicure was tops. I will definitely try to make this a more regular part of my self-care routine! read more
