It was my first time at Bloom, and from the moment I walked in, I felt instantly relaxed. The inviting decor and, most importantly, the cleanliness truly set the tone for a luxury spa experience. Piper at the front desk and Lauren, my massage therapist, were both incredibly friendly and welcoming. Lauren mentioned she had over 17 years of experience and it showed. Her technique was impeccable, and my 60-minute massage (with hot stones, highly recommend!) was amazing. I also loved the sauna. It didn't feel cramped, and the cold foot bath paired with the variety of essential oils for the hot rocks made it even more special. If you're looking for a true luxury spa experience, go to Bloom. Bloom Wellness is a great day spa for unwinding in the chaos of the everyday. I visited recently after getting a gift card, and I'm glad I got a chance to check the place out. The setting is very calm despite being at a busy corner of West Stadium. There were a few other people in the spa at the same time, but not so many that it felt intrusive or crowded. My experience started with a massage. It was relaxing but not up there with the best massages I've gotten around town. Next came the infrared sauna, which was probably my favorite part. With relaxing music and heat all around, I was able to zone out and enjoy myself. The float pool was next. I liked the waterproof headphones to listen to zen music as I floated, but the air temperature kept the parts of my body that were above water pretty chilly. I ended up cutting that part short as a result. Overall it was a good experience. I wish their parking were better marked (I parked in a lot to the left of the building as you're looking at it from the front). I also felt like the scheduling process was a little informal and unprofessional. I called and instead of returning my call, I got a text message back with informal grammar "Texting u from Bloom wellness" - it came off as sloppy. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Bloom! Got a spa package which included a sauna, a salt bath float, and a 60min massage. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed with the setup and decor. Very soothing. I was instructed to take off my shoes at the entrance, and provided slippers and a robe to change into. Then a spa attendant guided me through each step of the package smoothly and efficiently (waiting for me as soon as I stepped out of one experience and the next one was ready immediately). The Sauna. (30min?) Loved this! I had never tried infrared sauna before and enjoyed the experience. I was less extremely sweaty compared to prior sauna experiences, but in a good way. Still had a good sweat, with good heat, but not unbearable (if I was reading the thing correctly, it was going up to 150 degrees). I also appreciated that the bench had a cushion on it under a towel, made it very comfortable. The Float. (45 min?) Very unique! It was nice to feel so weightless, and with the calming music in my ears, the vibes were... celestial mermaid. I will say though, I thought this portion might've been a little long for me. I liked that the private room was as big as it was, with a sort of prep/changing area, a large shower, and float tub. The Massage. (60min) This was my favorite! Very blissful. My masseuse, Teri (sp?), was excellent, found all my little spots and knots and worked out the tension and stiffness I described in my neck and upper back. Table was nicely heated and pretty plush and comfy as well. I would absolutely come back for a massage with her. Now the one thing I think could've been better was the communication. Initial booking and scheduling was a bit of an odd experience. After requesting the package I wanted and submitting a preferred date/time, I got a text from an unknown number with a link for paying a deposit that was very informal and didn't acknowledge what service it was for or anything. I wasn't comfortable clicking an unknown link from an unknown number (just in case) so I asked for it to be sent by email (which is what I indicated was my preference in the form I submitted). Did then get an email from a Bloom address so I went ahead and paid. But I didn't get any kind of email confirmation about the service I booked, so I wrote down what I paid as deposit, the total price, and the service description myself so I wouldn't forget. Then morning of, I realized I didn't know if I was supposed to bring anything with me, as there wasn't any kind of "here's what to expect" kind of message ahead of time nor even when I showed up. Was just shuffled from sauna to float to massage, and I was left feeling pretty uncertain about things at times. Like being unclothed vs clothed, needing to assume total privacy for the sauna (was more obviously private for the float). I didn't know how long the sauna or float was going to be. I wasn't sure if the infrared was bad for the eyes (I just decided not to look at it). So overall I think some info ahead of time would be helpful! The website doesn't have info like this either (or at least, I couldn't find any). I would recommend bringing a few things with you - hair tie (to put hair up during the sauna and float), a hair brush (for post float shower), and maybe facial cleanser and moisturizer if you have sensitive or dry skin like me. I did ask for a link to an invoice, which helped ease some nerves. The staff were extremely helpful!! My mom and sister reported great massages. The sauna, from what I hear, was very hot!! Don't be afraid to come out early if needed. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I felt I didn't get the whole 90 minute massage I was expecting (closer to 70min). Had an amazing time here for my birthday. As soon as I got in, you pretty much get sent from place to place depending on what package you bought. I got a massage with the works and facial package. They got me ready for the massage first, it was incredibly relaxing and the oil used was non-irritating. I can't tolerate some oils due to my eczema. I can tell my masseuse was very experienced and helped me get out knots in my back. The facial was nice as well, they used non-irritating products and made sure the entire process was very soothing. As soon as I walked into Bloom Wellness Spa I knew it'd be worth a review. Me and my best friend decided to spend the afternoon at the Spa as a way to catch up after the holiday madness, our afternoon would include a massage, sauna and facial. Let me start off by saying, Bloom is located near Cookies and although it wasn't difficult to find - we were immediately confused with parking. Once we realized they shared a parking lot, we walked inside and immediately LOVED the environment. The space alone is beautiful, you walk into plants, neutral colors, calming music and smiling faces. We were greeted and taken care of right away. We were then taken to the ladies room where we were provided options of robes, sandals and a locker to store our belongings. The ladies room was extremely clean, had items we never would have thought to bring with us (which became useful) and a nice shower space. Once we changed, we were taken to our first stop: the massage. This was our favorite part. The beds were the perfect temperature, the atmosphere was perfect, staff was incredible and I felt extremely relaxed the entire time, especially when I left. I loved that the areas I selected were actually focused on and I was given peace, typically I have experienced someone who chats with me the entire time. Second stop: the sauna. We did enjoy this experience, we just wished it had been longer. The sauna had fresh towels, cold rags, essential oils and an ice bath for your feet which always had oils in it. That was the best touch, we found it very thoughtful. The experience was quick, but after we were given snacks + beverages and given a few minutes to chat, enjoy the space, etc. Third stop: the facial. This was the area we found disappointing. As someone who gets facials frequently, I went in with high expectations. Barbie truly took care of me, I just felt as if it was rushed and I didn't walk out feeling as if my skin was hydrated, more oily/felt the need to wash it. As for my friend, she unfortunately wasn't provided with a pillow or a hairband, therefore she left with oil filled hair/uncomfortable neck and with it being her first experience, it was disappointing. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and do plan to be back for a massage at the very least. I was given a gift certificate for my birthday. God knows I need a massage. I scheduled my appointment via the internet and they contacted me to verify. I could get a massage and a float if I wanted but opted for the massage. I had a hard time finding it because there is a place called COOKIES that makes its presence known. I saw that Bloom was right next to it. The front desk hosts was very friendly. He checked me in and showed me to the robe and slides to change into. I was able to store my stuff in a locker. I was then taken to the masseuse. I was asked what type I wanted. I prefer a medium massage as the deep tissue is too much for me. She did a great job. Was generously gifted a massage, sauna session and salt float and left so relaxed. This is such a great spa to have in Ann Arbor. I wish you could hang around all day! The massage was great although my male masseuse didn't ask many questions about pressure or details like my friend's did. Nonetheless, very nice and worked on some kinks! The sauna was fantastic and they provide lots of water. My Texas skin needed to sweat in the midst of Michigan winter. The staff were very kind and helpful throughout. The salt float was wild! For my first time it took a second to get used to but I wound up falling asleep! They tell you to come out when the light comes on but it was somewhat unclear when the light came on haha. We have had plenty of --- and none of them have acted like you. Life is too short to work with people who do not value mutual respect. Disrespect was from the start not respecting the way to communicate (email not text), not knowing what gift card was purchased with my name and email address, and not knowing what was booked for me when I arrived. Original Yelp Review - Setting up the appointment and attending the appointment at Bloom Wellness was stressful. I used the online webpage to request the appointment using a Bloom Wellness gift e-card. Given the option on the webpage, I requested to be contacted only by email. Instead, I received text after text, even when I again requested to be contacted only by email. Interacting with (I assume, Michael) the scheduler, we finally got the appointment date set with my request not to have the sauna for medical reasons. I was told that I would have longer massage and float sessions instead. That was fine with me. I was then asked to forward a copy of the gift e-card, which I did. While I was abroad for work for 3 weeks and in a different time zone, I got a threatening text (yes, another text) that because they hadn't seen the gift e-card, they would cancel my appointment in 6 hours unless I complied. What I don't understand is this: it is Bloom Wellness' gift e-card with my name and email address on it. Why don't they have a record of it? I asked them not to text again; I forwarded the gift e-card when I was back in the States. On getting to Bloom Wellness for my appointment, they had no record of the request not to have the sauna and there was confusion and some dysfunctional unpleasantness with (I assume the owner), Michael. The friction to set up and attend this appointment set the tone. The best and only really relaxing part of the $199 gift at Bloom Wellness was the wonderful massage therapist, Chanda. She made the appointment special. I highly recommend getting her massage, which can also be experienced at the Relaxation Station in Ann Arbor. I had the most incredible experience at my spa day at Bloom Wellness today. I was gifted the day by my sister for my birthday--thanks Sis! My host graciously guided me through five experiences, making sure I was comfortable, safe, hydrated, and relaxed. She totally took care of me. First I experienced the massage chair with music and lights. Then the private sauna. Then my first salt soak ever. With each of these I let go more and more and by the time I got out of the soak I was totally receptive to a fantastic one hour massage followed by a facial. I felt like a new person when left. Wow. Just wow!!! I filled out the online contact form on a Friday morning in the hopes that they may have an opening for a massage sometime that weekend. About an hour later, someone from Bloom texted me saying they had an opening that afternoon - score! I arrived about 10 minutes early to complete their online screening process. The waiting/lounge area is so comfortable and relaxing! I was given a bottle of water to sip on while filling out the electronic paperwork. Once that was completed, I was given a robe and slippers and shown to the locker room. I walked in and literally had to take a picture to send to my husband - I couldn't believe how nice it is! It's compact but well decorated and feels like it could be in a 5 star spa/resort. From there, I was escorted to my massage room and met with my massage therapist, Jerry. He was super friendly! We chatted for a few minutes about what I was hoping to get out of the massage, any specific areas I needed treated, etc. While he used quite a bit of pressure, I really enjoyed my massage and felt super relaxed at the end. It was exactly the experience I needed/wanted! They also offer floating, which my husband plans to try in the near future. It sounds like it would be a great way to relax as well! read more

I've gone to a lot of spas before, and I would say this experience was pretty mediocre. Not a big fan of the massage chair. On the website, its described as the "world's most advanced massage chair", and I honestly can't tell the difference between the amazon I one I have at home... The sauna is clean & nice. The float experience was actually pretty cool (had a spray bottles, towels, nice soaps) , but I really think there's more hype to this place than the experience actually provides. Even when I enjoyed the products and services of a business in my area, I have never been compelled to write a review online. However, after my experience at Bloom Wellness, they deserve nothing more than complete recognition of excellence. If you rather avoid my full review riddled with platitudes that may not even do Bloom Wellness justice, let me just say this... Bloom Wellness Spa is a top notch experience comprised of highly qualified employees that focus on their clients. I highly recommend any and all of their services. I had corresponded with Mike, one of the owners, to plan a group mother-son spa day for eight people. His correspondence and demeanor fell nothing short of professional. He was able to arrange a wonderful day for our group in which we all left satisfied and refreshed. The day consisted of four different treatments: a full-body massage, floating experience, infrared sauna and footbath, and a wonderful Inada massage chair. My favorite two treatments were the full-body massage and floating experience. The therapist was polite and attentive, asking me before the massage which areas I would like to focus on. Additionally, the floating experience was a service I have never experienced, but would highly recommend. It allowed me to clear my head and reach complete relaxation. In sum, the extremely clean facilities, kind and attentive staff, and worthwhile treatments, make bloom wellness the top spa in the Ann Arbor area in my opinion. This is a very special place!!! I bought the Groupon for the massage, sauna and float session and although being incredibly reasonable - was also just a fantastic experience!!! I didn't get the full 60 minutes in the sauna which was one of my favorite parts but I bet if I had asked to stay longer they wouldn't have minded. Seriously that massage was one of the best ones I've ever had, thank you. The float session was a different experience. Not completely sensory deprivation but quite calming. My boyfriend and I bought the "love love love" couples spa day for Christmas gifts for each other. We finally scheduled a day for it. Neither of us have ever been here and we had a great first impression. We were asked to take our shoes off before leaving the lobby area. Then we were seated in the waiting area and offered water while the locker rooms opened up (with COVID, they were following guidelines and only allowing 1 person in at a time) Before we got our spa day started, we were informed on everything we'd be doing. First, 90 minute massage. So amazing! The masseuse was friendly and made me feel comfortable and definitely gave a massage worth what we were paying. Next was the massage chairs for 30 minutes. Those were not as nice but still a cool experience, nothing crazy though. Third, the infrared sauna (30 minutes) which was HOT! Really relaxing and even though I was very hot, it still was nice to feel that heat especially since it's cold outside. Lastly, the float therapy (30 minutes). We were in separate tubs for this one. Once I got in the tub, I was floating immediately. I will say, DO NOT SHAVE ANYWHERE before doing this. I should have listened to the suggestion beforehand. I got out early because it was burning and itchy, felt like there were beestings whenever I had shaved recently. So I definitely wish I would've been able to experience this float therapy 110%, but oh well, next time. Overall, it was a great experience and very relaxing. We got robes, sippers, water, and it felt very cozy from the minute we walked in. I would definitely suggest going here for a couples spa day or just for some self-care! Pre-pandemic I purchased a yoga package from a previous business that joined with Bloom wellness. I was told by the new owners of Bloom that they would honor 10 of my previously paid for sessions of my packahe. I understand that every business took a hit during Covid but now they're telling me that they made no money on that and that they in fact will not honor those 10 classes and that they wanted me to buy a new package with them. Guess what I gladly would've done that if you would've kept your WORD and honored what you told me. Buyer beware and always get everything in writing! Whta I love AWD to see as a place of tranquility and a great place to practice, I now view as a place that lacks integrity and is just grabbing at anyway you can to make money. Wow, we missed them so much due to covid shutdowns! My partner and I went there today for their NYE couples special and it was an exceptional experience as always! They have the best service and treatments start to finish, every time. You really feel like you're taken care of every step of the way. From booking till you leave. They always had clean facilities before, but have definitely added extra cleaning/safety measures to keep everyone safe and healthy during these strange times. I have had countless massage experiences, both therapeutic and relaxing. My experience at bloom was hands down the best I have ever had. Not only is the facility absolutely beautiful and clean, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had me change into a robe that I thought for a second was wet, but realized it was aromatherapy! It was heavenly. The treatment rooms are HUGE beautiful, and very relaxing. The music was calming without being the traditional spa music. The massage was incredible. We briefly discussed what I needed and she went to work. Her pressure was perfect, she checked to make sure I was comfortable and I was able to zone out. The massage was a perfect mix of relaxing and therapeutic. After a stressful week, I found myself with nothing planned to celebrate my birthday. At the last minute, I decided I could use some relaxation so I called Bloom to try a float for the first time and take advantage of their first visit package with a massage. But, not surprisingly since I called so last minute, they didn't have any massage appointments available that day. However, the very friendly and accommodating Mike told me to they could get me in for a float and the Dreamwave massage chair (with a little extra time thrown in for good measure). I was in! Showed up for my appointment and was greeted by Mike who gave me the lay of the land (there's a locker room to store your belongings) and then got me a robe and slippers for a bit of relaxation in the massage chair. HOLY COW. As everyone else has said, this is no normal massage chair. This one compresses, it stretches, it vibrates and pulses, it massages and works out tension in the most magical way. If you can't get in for a massage with a human this does a pretty incredible job of emulating it. Wowiezowie. I wish I could get one for my house! There are two chairs in one quiet room with very low glowing light. Incredibly relaxing and I loved every second of my time in that room in the chair! After a nice long stretch (literally and figuratively) in the massage chair, it was time to float! I'd never done it before but I'd read about it so I soooorta knew what to expect? But it was better than I could have imagined. First, a lay of the land-- the float room at Bloom is spacious and warm. Set to around 90 degrees it feels very sauna like in there. There's a small changing area and then a shower to wash and rinse off before you go into the salt water and then soaps/shampoos/conditioners to use after. Then there's the bath. It's more like a small pool/big bath tub. Just shy of a foot of water filled with A LOT of Epsom salt (like 1000 lbs or so) and room temp. You get in and there's a waterproof ipod with watertight earplugs to enjoy or you can put in plain old ear plugs and avoid any sounds whatesover. Mike recommended that as a first-time floater I should go for the iPod so I put in the earbuds and enjoyed the relaxing light musak. After about 10 minutes the lights in the room go off and it's pitch black. There are motion activated lights on the floor so if you need to get out you can but otherwise, it's nice and dark. And so I floated in the dark! The salt makes you incredibly buoyant so no matter what, you'll float. It takes the gravity off your joints, and you just rise to the top effortlessly. Relax all your muscles and you'll just float, feeling no affects of gravity, suspended right above the water. All the tension will just melt away. It took me a few minutes to get really comfortable, especially since I had a few knicks on my knuckles that stung like hell from the salt, but after a while, I got the hang of it. It also took a few positions to figure out where I liked my arms to be (over the head was the winner), and even more time to quiet my mind, but eventually I let the relaxing music in my ears and the floating sensation take me away. Yes, I zoned the eff out. I'm not 100% sure I fell asleep but I was definitely not conscious for a while. It was the weirdest feeling. Some people report almost psychedelic-like experiences from the sensory deprivation but I didn't have that. I just kind of snapped out of real life for a bit. And when I woke up? I felt INCREDIBLY rested but also....a bit antsy. After such a deep relaxed state I just couldn't mellow again. So I got out of the tub to check the time and discovered I had a little over 10 minutes left. I decided that was a good time to shower and get myself together. At that point, only the motion sensor floor lights were on but it was enough light to shower, and after a few minutes the light kicked on and I had total light back on in the room. Robe back on I went to the locker room and dried my hair with the hair dryer left out. I put my towels away and changed back into my clothes. I noticed that the pain that had accumulated in my upper back from the stress of the week prior was now gone. I felt loosey goosey and great! Checking out I decided to upgrade my intro pricing to a 3 float package for future visits. Yes, I liked it that much! They recommend you do it every 3-4 weeks for maximum relaxation so you better believe I'll be there again in a month!
