I went to Bloom Wellness for a massage, which I received as a Christmas gift and had the most fabulous experience. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable and the environment was so welcoming!

Bloom is truly a one-of-a-kind experience here in Ann Arbor. The staff up front are very courteous and help you through every step of the way! Would highly recommend anyone looking for a luxury relaxing spa day.

Oils provided within the sauna to use during your experience, we only used the tea tree but overall we loved this part.

As soon as I walked into Bloom Wellness Spa I knew it'd be worth a review. Me and my best friend decided to spend the afternoon at the Spa as a way to catch up after the holiday madness, our afternoon would include a massage, sauna and facial. Let me start off by saying, Bloom is located near Cookies and although it wasn't difficult to find - we were immediately confused with parking. Once we realized they shared a parking lot, we walked inside and immediately LOVED the environment. The space alone is beautiful, you walk into plants, neutral colors, calming music and smiling faces. We were greeted and taken care of right away. We were then taken to the ladies room where we were provided options of robes, sandals and a locker to store our belongings. The ladies room was extremely clean, had items we never would have thought to bring with us (which became useful) and a nice shower space. Once we changed, we were taken to our first stop: the massage. This was our favorite part. The beds were the perfect temperature, the atmosphere was perfect, staff was incredible and I felt extremely relaxed the entire time, especially when I left. I loved that the areas I selected were actually focused on and I was given peace, typically I have experienced someone who chats with me the entire time. Second stop: the sauna. We did enjoy this experience, we just wished it had been longer. The sauna had fresh towels, cold rags, essential oils and an ice bath for your feet which always had oils in it. That was the best touch, we found it very thoughtful. The experience was quick, but after we were given snacks + beverages and given a few minutes to chat, enjoy the space, etc. Third stop: the facial. This was the area we found disappointing. As someone who gets facials frequently, I went in with high expectations. Barbie truly took care of me, I just felt as if it was rushed and I didn't walk out feeling as if my skin was hydrated, more oily/felt the need to wash it. As for my friend, she unfortunately wasn't provided with a pillow or a hairband, therefore she left with oil filled hair/uncomfortable neck and with it being her first experience, it was disappointing. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and do plan to be back for a massage at the very least. We did hear that this space used to have hot yoga and boy, do I wish I would have got to try that!

I was given a gift certificate for my birthday. God knows I need a massage. I scheduled my appointment via the internet and they contacted me to verify. I could get a massage and a float if I wanted but opted for the massage. I had a hard time finding it because there is a place called COOKIES that makes its presence known. I saw that Bloom was right next to it. The front desk hosts was very friendly. He checked me in and showed me to the robe and slides to change into. I was able to store my stuff in a locker. I was then taken to the masseuse. I was asked what type I wanted. I prefer a medium massage as the deep tissue is too much for me. She did a great job. I was then taken to the lounge area and had some light reading and water. It was good relaxing experience. I will be back.

The decor looks a bit dated compared to say the newly constructed L.A fitness - but the facilities are quite comprehensive - I use the strength training facilities, my partner makes use of the included fitness classes, and my kids love the indoor play area and pool, and great outdoor pool / recreation area during the summer. Great place to host birthday parties too. Hard to find this combo anywhere else. I also find that Liberty being independently owned leads to better service than I experienced at L.A Fitness and Planet fitness - the people who work at Liberty have often times been around for years and seem to care more. If you are a solo adult, the extra cost might be harder to justify. But for our family, this is hands down the best fitness club in Ann Arbor.

My husband and I have been members of Liberty Athletic Club for the last year and I have nothing…read morebut great experiences so far. In the last year they've been renovating quite a bit to update the spaces, equipment, etc, which has helped the overall vibe. They started by painting and reflooring the main workout room and are currently renovating and updating the indoor lap pool and hot tubs/saunas. The locker rooms are clean and the lockers are easy to use. The workout equipment is in great condition and even during their busiest times it's easy to get a treadmill or a bike. Plenty of TVs and things to keep you occupied with as well as you're huffing and puffing along. They have a few rooms for specialized classes--group fitness, spin and yoga. Now, I've only done the yoga classes so I can't comment on the others but the yoga classes I've attended were good (restorative yoga). I've always felt a million times better coming out than when I went in. There's a lot to do for families too. With a big kid's complex with a play area, rock climbing wall and indoor water park for fun during the winter months (also open in the summer). The outdoor complex is awesome and open Memorial to Labor Days. To be honest, this was the selling point for me. They have a few lap lanes for adult swimming (yes there are only two but I never had a problem getting a lap of my own this summer and I went several times a week) a bigger "play" area in that pool for the older kids/teens, and a splash/smaller pool for kids with a nice water slide. The outdoor cafe area has beverages, smoothies, frozen yogurt, and a few hot items for lunching. There's a small playground and even a few holes of mini golf in the complex as well. Plus outdoor tennis courts, of course. The club is big on tennis and they have a ton of courts inside as well. Plus classes, teams, and more. I feel like there's always a tennis club gathering when I'm there. There's a small indoor cafe as well with snacks, water, smoothies and such. They close around 7:30pm every day so it's more for lunch or a post-work pick me up before your workout. They have a small spa area upstairs with pedicures and massages. When you join you get a coupon for either or so I booked one and splurged on another. Great solitary environment. I had a beautiful pedicure and one of the best massages I've ever had. It's just a little pricey to do often, but if I could I would. It's definitely not a cheap membership, but I get a generous stipend from work for a fitness membership which covers most of the cost. If not for this I'm not sure I could swing it. But since I can, I try and make the most of my membership.

Three adult women went for a spa day. To sum it up, the experience overall was super…read moredisappointing. Before going, I asked a lot of questions about the facility as we were looking for a totally relaxing experience. I booked massages and facials I was told there was both a steam room and sauna to relax in while waiting for each other to complete the services. From the minute we walked in the door we felt bad vibes. The young girl manning the front desk set the tone--no friendly greeting, slow, and uninformative when giving us a "tour" of the facility. My immediate reaction when viewing the premises was that it was old and not clean. In the "shower /steam room" (for one person), long dark hair was all over the tile and there was rust by the pipes. When I brought this to the attention of the girl, she literally said nothing. I then asked about using the sauna and she told me it was closed. Now, I called three days before our appointments asking specifically about the amenities and was not told it was broken. Walking by the "sauna room", you could see it was now used for storage. This left no options other than to sit in the relaxation room. The lounges were comfortable, but there was no reading material and the refreshments were minimal. We could hear talking and cackling from other areas of the spa from the "relaxation room" and had to close the door to minimize the noise. At one point, a dog was barking in building. The only good thing about the visit was my massage with Desiree was very good. My friends were not as impressed with their services. The final blow was during checkout. The same young girl didn't understand billing and said she could not produce a bill for the services until I paid in full. WHAT? I was literally doing the math trying to figure out what was being charged when she also informed me of a "3% convenience charge" . Again, WHAT? That was never disclosed to us nor was it mentioned on the website. The girl first told me it was the markup for the new prices in 2024. Then she told me it was a fee that went to the owner. Garbage! OK, enough of this spa. Moving on to find another one.

So I went in for a facial with Sandra. The girl in the lobby first showed me to the "relaxation…read morearea." It was nice but a little boring. The good thing is they have tea, coffee, and water. Also really clean bathroom. I got bored so I went back out to the lobby. The facial itself was very good. The room was a little small but Sandra was very professional, her hands are gentle and she knows how to give a facial. She really reads the forms that you fill out at the beginning, and she made sure she didn't use a product I am allergic to. She also gives you a massage on your neck, arms, and side of your face towards the end. You get a mask towards the end as well. The products smell really good and, again, her hands are gentle. It was a very good experience and I would go back. She uses steam which I wasn't used to, but it was interesting. My skin looks very smooth and clean. I would go back. Definitely would recommend Sandra!

(not that all rich people are bastards, mind you) We played tennis but never competed. We played on old, cracked, outdoor, forgotten courts because then we didn't have to deal with anyone else. I played in skate shoes, flannel shirts, and jeans (it was the '90s!). We love to swim but we take more time to complete a lap than an asthmatic turtle. So when I hear 'tennis club' I cringe. I automatically think of upturned noses. But after four times of hitting balls around at Chippewa, my apprehension is waning. This ain't no snobby country club. I'm a plus one on my partner's family's membership so I can't tell you anything about cost. I can tell you, however, that there are: - six well-maintained really-high-ceiling indoor courts with water stations and benches. - draw-nets that separate the courts. - large wheeled carts filled with tennis balls. - a lot of people taking lessons which means you get a range from Eastern students with blond ponytails and 80 mph serves to 50 year-old men with sweat bands on their heads who can hardly hit a ball. - changing rooms with great little nooks that give you a little privacy and comfort - six spacious showers in private stalls with nice hot water - a small sauna - a full gym downstairs with aerobic machines, weights, etc. Always is empty when I'm there Still haven't scoped the pool but hope to do so soon. If you want a laid-back atmosphere with all-season courts but where you don't have to have a diamond ring or a beamer to join, this just might be your place.

It makes for some interesting activity in the room with 4 walls. I was actually looking forward to it as I had not played in a while. The place sits hidden back off of Golfside Rd. It has a distinctive sign that you can't miss. Half way down the long driveway I was wondering if I was in the right spot. I then saw a building so to the left I turned. Hmmmm.....Seems deserted and vacant. It took me 15 mins to call the club to ask if I was at the correct location. Nope! You turned left instead of right and you are at the Swimming pool and outdoor Tennis courts. Okie Dokie. The place is actually at the furthest end of the driveway. Once arriving at the actual building I noticed I was at the correct location because I actually saw people. After climbing the steps and entering the building there are Indoor Tennis courts, Soccer and Racquetball rooms. The charge is $6 to enter. There is a locker room for men and women. I would recommend bringing a lock. The RB rooms are located on the lower level along with Exercise equipment. It is not a new facility but maintained, We played 6 games and I felt the burn the following day. Overall, it was a fun experience once you actually find the correct building.
