So I went in for a facial with Sandra. The girl in the lobby first showed me to the "relaxation area." It was nice but a little boring. The good thing is they have tea, coffee, and water. Also really clean bathroom. I got bored so I went back out to the lobby. The facial itself was very good. The room was a little small but Sandra was very professional, her hands are gentle and she knows how to give a facial. She really reads the forms that you fill out at the beginning, and she made sure she didn't use a product I am allergic to. She also gives you a massage on your neck, arms, and side of your face towards the end. You get a mask towards the end as well. The products smell really good and, again, her hands are gentle. It was a very good experience and I would go back. She uses steam which I wasn't used to, but it was interesting. My skin looks very smooth and clean. I would go back. Three adult women went for a spa day. To sum it up, the experience overall was super disappointing. Before going, I asked a lot of questions about the facility as we were looking for a totally relaxing experience. I booked massages and facials I was told there was both a steam room and sauna to relax in while waiting for each other to complete the services. From the minute we walked in the door we felt bad vibes. The young girl manning the front desk set the tone--no friendly greeting, slow, and uninformative when giving us a "tour" of the facility. My immediate reaction when viewing the premises was that it was old and not clean. In the "shower /steam room" (for one person), long dark hair was all over the tile and there was rust by the pipes. When I brought this to the attention of the girl, she literally said nothing. I then asked about using the sauna and she told me it was closed. Now, I called three days before our appointments asking specifically about the amenities and was not told it was broken. Walking by the "sauna room", you could see it was now used for storage. This left no options other than to sit in the relaxation room. The lounges were comfortable, but there was no reading material and the refreshments were minimal. We could hear talking and cackling from other areas of the spa from the "relaxation room" and had to close the door to minimize the noise. At one point, a dog was barking in building. The only good thing about the visit was my massage with Desiree was very good. My friends were not as impressed with their services. The final blow was during checkout. The same young girl didn't understand billing and said she could not produce a bill for the services until I paid in full. WHAT? I was literally doing the math trying to figure out what was being charged when she also informed me of a "3% convenience charge" . Again, WHAT? That was never disclosed to us nor was it mentioned on the website. The girl first told me it was the markup for the new prices in 2024. Then she told me it was a fee that went to the owner. Garbage! Booked a couples massage for my sis and I so that we can be in the same room getting our massages. Dave serviced me while Diana serviced my sis. PROS - They provide lockers, robes and a nice waiting area where the massage therapists come to meet you. Price point is nice ($150 for a one hour couples massage). The start time and end time of massage is approx one hour - unlike other massage places where they shave off 10 mins of your actual massage time so you can disrobe in the beginning and dress yourself again towards the end. CONS - I advised Dave that I have the most tension in my shoulders and upper back area, so he advised that he'd be doing a full body massage but concentrate on those problem areas. Cool. Pressure was okay, technique not so much. He spent 20 mins for whole back before telling me to flip over to do the front (another 20 mins). That leaves 20 mins that would have been perfect to concentrate on those problem areas that we discussed. Instead, Dave spent the last 20 mins doing these weird gentle strokes across my face with his fingers, cupping my face between his hairy arms (wtf), and taking out my ponytail so he can gently tug on my hair strands. Maybe it's a new age massage technique that I'm not yet familiar with, but it was strange. Didn't stop him because I kept thinking the technique would change and I was also curious on wtf was going on...so that's also my bad. The sister mentioned her massage with Diana was mediocre, and that the problem areas (small knots in upper back area) felt nice during the massage but were still evident post massage. My sis and I get massages quite frequently and like to try out new places. In conclusion, beautiful facility, kind people, but probably won't be coming back. read more

A really pleasant experience; customer service and attention went above and beyond. I made an impromptu trip to visit my daughter in Ann Arbor for her birthday, and didn't have high hopes for finding something special to do on short notice. Ramin opened the spa on Sunday (for a small additional fee this was well worth it) and lined up facials, massages, and mani/pedis for 3 of us. We had the whole facility to ourselves, which was an unexpected special treat! Sandra and Missy were fabulous estheticians - among the best facials and manicures I've ever had (better than some 5 star hotels). They both were welcoming, friendly, and highly professional. I wish I had known about this spa when my daughter was still in college here! Will definitely come back on a future visit to Ann Arbor. read more

Ramin and his team WERE FABULOUS!! I booked a private birthday party on a Sunday for 12 ladies - massages, facials, pedicures, manicures - I was able to bring in food and beverages. Everything was well organized and made my life (as the birthday person's assistant) exceptionally easy. All of the ladies that attended have been to several spas in the past and I'm happy to report, that EACH AND EVERYONE sang the praises of this Spa. Ramin and his team are dynamite and I would recommend a birthday "Spa-lebration" here to everyone!! Thank you again! I've had massages, facials, waxing, manicure, and pedicure here at various times and all were great. The staff are friendly and thorough. The atmosphere is relaxing and well kept. I cannot say enough great things about Sapphire Spa. From the moment you walk into the relaxing environment, you can feel life's stress fade away. You are always greeted with a smile by whomever is at the reception desk. After being taken to the locker room, you can bask in the relaxation room in the most comfortable lounge chairs. I have never had a poor or bad experience with any of the staff or services. It's a great place to come alone or with a group of girls for "girls day out". Very reasonably priced day spa with plenty of parking. All sorts of services - beauty and body and nails... best thing is you can put together a customized spa package of whatever you want. Although I didn't personally experience the services here, I gladly recommend. I arranged for my mother to come in and get a massage/mani/pedicure. She's 65 years old, and not quite retired, but definitely in need of a good massage. She loved it. She said that the staff was wonderful. And she just seemed to very pleased with the experience. My party and I arrived at Sapphire Spa for a birthday celebration that included massages. The spa itself is nice. There is a locker room to change into your robe and slippers, and a relaxation room with comfortable chairs and soft music. You can use the sauna before or after your service. If you do that, keep in mind that it takes about 30 minutes to warm up. My massage was done by Ramin. I get massages frequently because of the back strain that comes along with my profession, and this is one of the best I have had. He was helpful in showing me stretches to relieve muscle strain in my problem areas. If I lived locally, I would definitely see him again. The massage was fairly priced, and he worked for the full hour. In a lot of spas, an hour massage is actually 55 minutes to allow for changing of linens between clients. I booked this place for a bachelorette party. I live out of state and was not able to come tour the place. Dave the owner was so nice and very prompt at returning my emails and calls. The spa exceeded all of our expectations! We had girls who booked late and people (me included) who were late and the staff was so very accommodating! I love the set up of the spa, they had a cozy room in the back that was perfect for our noisy bunch! Our massages was great and my pedicure was so much fun!
