I walked in to your store looking for moving boxes. There was not a single person in sight. I waited. I walked around looking for items I needed. I waited some more. I walked around some more. I waved at the cameras. I waited some more. I walked out the front door and looked for a body.... ANY BODY. Nope. No one. I went back in and waved at cameras again and waited some more. I finally left without moving supplies or ever encountering an employee. If you don't want your store robbed, and if you are interested in actually selling products...my suggestion is you have more employees available and you never leave the front counter without a BODY, ANY BODY! read more

I have gone to U Haul for propane over the years and it gets worse and worse each time. You are never acknowledged, the supposed bell seems never to work, and have to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to help. I went into the office after waiting almost 15 minutes only to not have been greeted but the guy said, I don't do propane and walked off. They used to help me put the full tank in my trunk, now they don't even bother. Will be finding another place to fill my propane tank in the future, even if it is further from my house. read more

These guys are thieves. I drove 21 miles in their vehicle, and when I got my credit card bill they had overcharged me by $42. When I disputed it the said I had driven 65 miles. They are just liars and cheats. read more

I picked up my moving truck on Thursday feb 27 the first guy was very nice I asked him if I could pick up the auto transport later so that I could load the uhaul he had no problem with it I paid the extra $20 for them to load my car got back later in the day for them to load my car when I got there the older man was so rude to me I paid $600 for a uhaul just to be treated like crap then they left there handheld device on the back of the uhaul so I had to take time out of my night to drive back to return it when I pressed the button on the device it said reward if returned but no reward was offered the way the guy treated me I should have thrown the device in the trash... read more

CROOKS WORK HERE! Prior to rental, everything went good. After the return is when I got screwed. I put 21 miles on the truck for a local move, also put $14 of gas in it, which put the gas gauge just above compared when I picked the truck up. My bill was suppose to be around $90, I got charge over $180. The bill said I returned it with less then a quarter of a tank of gas, which is also not possible since I only put 21 miles on the tank. I have photos to prove it, photos show milage, time returned and gas gauge level. They still won't refund me the over charge. read more

The pick up went seamlessly--the Mgr Christian Garcia got us in and out rather quickly. (We reserved online and picked up Thursday morn @730a)--so needless to say it wasn't a hassle except trying to pull out of the parking lot into Speedway morning rush traffic--not Uhauls fault --it's life lol. Truck was on full tank of gas(yay!!), good ride, easy load/unload (15ft truck btw) I love the on ramp--makes moving a 2bedroom apt to a house easy! Now here is where the 3 stars come in--the drop off. Mind you, we dropped off at 4pm-ish (before our 530p end time) and there were 3 employees working at their respective counter, tell me why we waited for at least half an hour if not LONGER just to initiate the drop off--ok, sure they had a computer problem with 1 employee (1:1 employee:customer ratio) so what does that have to do with the other 2 employees? Shit if I know, all I do know is that they didn't seem interested in getting the rest of us customers in/out--ok 30-45mins later we get acknowledged--did the preliminary drop off procedure, I asked for a receipt(cuz I don't trust nobody ‍)--the dude (I shall call him Inside dude) said he will meet us out side, 10mins LATER another employee takes care of uS and says to ask Inside dude inside for the receipt....walk inside, Inside dude looks met straight in the eye (he knows we need a gd receipt) and keeps helping his customer ...y'all --all we needed was a receipt (look up customer, select print, hand receipt to paid customer)but neeeeerp...10ish mins later as we continue to wait in line, I ask out-loud to Inside Dude-"can we just get a receipt or are you going to make us keep waiting in line??" His response "yea I'm getting it now" booooooy why didn't you say that when we made eye contact and why did it take for me to say something in front of all these friggin people??? So, we got our receipt and went on our Mary way. Oh, btw-the other man from the initial walk in to drop off ( remember there were three-idk where he was)...oh, let me rewind to the 30min wait before we did the drop off part--Inside dude even had to the nerve to ask the boy behind us if he was dropping off(boy said no), and then he asked the guy behind him, he confirmed a needed UBox & UBox man got helped. But us? Waiting in line FIRST to drop off a truck, were not acknowledged ....ridiculous. So, my opinion ? Go in the morn and work with Christian and he will take care of you--the rest? Inside man? Nah u are about to want to pull your hair out. After a long--LONG day of moving up/down stairs. Cmon U-Haul afternoon/evening crew--you've got to do better. read more

I bought a hitch on amazon and had it installed on my wifes Kia Soul at this U-Haul not only where they able to do it with out an appointment the wait was under 40 minutes all at a price that would be hard to beat. If I ever need a hitch installed on any of my future vehicles I will return to U-Haul. read more

It appears my husband has beat me to another review! Oh the yelp wars that go on in my home! haha sorry, I digress. We went in on a weekend (Sunday I think?) to have a hitch installed on my car. We had made a reservation but it wasn't really needed. The U-haul guys were nice, did what they needed to and rather quickly. We went for a short walk while they installed the hitch and the car guy called us as soon as he finished. Prices are very competitive and I would easily recommend this location to anyone looking to have a hitch installed! * If you will be ordering a hitch through them (I bought mine online), make sure you call ahead to make sure it is in stock before going in. read more

Equipment drop-off was a cinch and took about 4 minutes on a Thursday afternoon. The guy who helped us, Ryan, impressed us in such a short time with his efficiency and professionalism. The entrance can be a bit tricky to reach, just off the corner of a busy intersection. read more

Terrible location. Rude, unapologetic, and incompetent staff. Reserved a van though uhaul.com; went to pick up and told them I had a reservation for a cargo van. Went through the up-sell rigamarole, contract, and payment process; was told the vehicle was outside with the keys in it. Went outside to find a moving truck, which would not work for my purposes; told him it's not what I reserved, and was told, "yes it is," despite my reservation email clearly stating 9' cargo van, with a picture--and then was told "well, we don't have any vans here." The refund process took a half hour with running the card multiple times, and (presumably) the manager having to make phone calls when they could not get it to work. Left when he said, "ok, you're all set," without having received any form of apology or remorse for any part of the situation. When noticing a few days later that the charge posted and had not been refunded, I called the 800 number for clarification, and was told that they had set up for a check to be mailed, which will take 7-10 business days. Pretty unacceptable when he made it sound like the credit card issue had been handled with regards to the refund, and made no mention of a check. read more

We use U-haul a lot recently. Moving a business from California to Arizona has been stressful to say the least. The U-haul store on Speedway has been great to work with until this morning. Kevin (last name withheld). Was extremely rude with my wife upon returning the truck. Not only was he not wearing a mask, but he was very aggressive about the returned status of the vehicle. I could give you a list of the state of the vehicle upon pickup but it's a rental moving truck. It gets used and used. But that's beside the point. We return all of the rentals in better condition than we received. I didn't realize that we needed to provide photographic evidence of the condition. Kevin in his role of checking in trucks was quite aggressive and rude with my wife. She came to me in our vehicle to ask me to assist her and was emotionally charge after dealing with Kevin. I proceeded to get out of my car and asked Kevin what the problem was. He started in on me. I am sure that Kevin is a problem. He wanted to strong arm us into paying for cleaning the truck. One green leaf left in it. Let me tell you that the Uhaul guys blow it out with a leaf blower and nothing in the cab is cleaned or sanitized. Footprints left on the window. Dirty dirty dirty. Kevin must have been taking out his frustrations on his customers because he did the same to the customers who returned before us. All of our previous experiences with the other employees has been exceptional. read more

Made a reservation 3 weeks ago on the toll-free number for pickup of a moving truck at this UHaul location. When I arrive there I find out they are overwhelmed with rentals and do not have a truck for me. They do not even have one for tomorrow. They offered me a smaller one, which is not what I reserved. It will not work due to the size of the items I am moving. The staff at this location are all very snarky. I called the toll-free number and got excuse after excuse. Nobody taking any responsibility or making any offer to accommodate me in any way. This is how UHaul operates in 2020. Being from out of state I placed my faith and trust in UHaul making a reservation weeks in advance. Making a reservation with this company is useless. You can not trust or depend on them at all. It cost me extra time and money, all wasted because of UHaul. I ended up calling Budget and they were able to provide a truck the next day. UHaul has become a leader in the truck rental business and I've used them on a regular basis over many years. They did not care that I was a regular customer and had a confirmed reservation. I do not recommend UHaul and I will never use them again. I will take my business where it is appreciated. read more

**UPDATE** 9:22 a.m. I just got off the phone with U-Haul's customer service. They explained to me that the insurance is not optional for their cargo vans, so that's why I was charged for it. I should never have been given the option of not having it, because it is not optional. I told her that that sounded very reasonable, and I did not understand why Aaron couldn't have said that to me, instead of accusing me of lying. She said she completely agreed and she apologized and sent me a $30 gift certificate. Classy move. Conclusion? U-Haul Customer Service = Great. Aaron at U-Haul on Speedway=Unbelievably and unnecessarily rude. I leave it to you to decide how to proceed. 8/13/2012 8:30 a.m. I was very excited about my experience at this U-Haul at first. The store was clean, they people were nice, the van was in good working order. All of that very different from my experience with U-Haul in New York, where the stores are smelly, the people are mean, and the vans occasionally catch on fire. Everything was going great. I rented the van, making sure to refuse insurance coverage when given the option because I already have insurance, double checked the contract, saw they had mistakenly charged me for insurance, asked them to remove it, which they did, and signed the contract. I completed the huge task of moving a two cargo vans full of of furniture across town, driving up to Ikea in Phoenix, bringing back another cargo van full of furniture, and returned the van early Monday morning. The woman changed me an amount that seemed a little high, but she offered to email me the receipt and so I decided I would check everything out later, assuming they would be reasonable if they had indeed overcharged me in some way. Big mistake. I look at the receipt this morning and they had in fact charged me for insurance. I call them, was transferred around to four or five employees, and finally get an Aaron (who says he's the reservations manager) on the phone, who tells me that I'm lying about asking for no insurance, and that I'm trying to scam them out of the $20 insurance fee, and that I wouldn't be complaining if I had gotten into an accident while I was driving the van. I said, no, I wouldn't have complained because I have my own insurance. I said I thought it was surprising that he would accuse a customer who had paid hundreds of dollars to his company of trying to scam them out of $20. He said, "You have no way to prove that you didn't ask for insurance." Which is true. I don't. But I can write this review and warn people that U-Haul will put charges on your bill against your will and then call you a liar. Yes, it's only $20, but I prefer not to patronize a company that has so little respect for it's customers. I'm looking at you, Aaron the Reservations Manager. read more

Super friendly service and easy and fast rentals, what more could you ask for when renting a truck! At the last minute I needed to rent a truck and called these guys an hour before my movers arrived. The woman on the phone was so helpful and polite that the process took about 10 min on the phone followed by a quick drive to the store. The truck was out front and ready to go for me as soon as I arrived. Check out was just as easy, they offer email confirmation, so I just dropped my keys off to the attendant and said goodbye... 20 minutes later the receipt was in my inbox for less than what was quoted me. I highly recommend this "no stress" business for your next move. read more

After a horrible experience with Budget at Furriers just down the street, we were left without a moving van on the day of our move. We called Melinda, the store manager at this UHaul store and she was amazing. Her excellent customer service got us into a perfect sized truck for our one way rental and got us on the road in no time. The entire staff was gracious and considerate and it is a very well kept store. We would highly recommend this UHaul store. read more

First of all these idiots over booked my truck and said they couldn't give me a truck, even when I made a reservation. Next they decided to give me the truck they needed to prep for different person tomorrow morning and rudely told me that if I dont return by 9am tomorrow morning (their newly assigned deadline) I will be charged a late fee. Anyways 30 mins later, I get the truck keys in along with the paperwork, they sent me off, as I'm leaving the lot, they come running at me with a different truck, telling me that I can take that one.... so I get out if the truck I was rented and asked to leave the vehicle and use the other, i get out and get the paper work for the second truck, and i ask them where was this truck and why did we have to go through 30 mins of arguing to find out to realise they randomly found a truck they can rent me all along. I had a problem with the factory electrical plug on my hitch, so I went to U-Haul on Speedway for help. It was a Sunday, so I didn't expect much, but it turned out they had a technician there. He tested my harness, and instead of selling me a new one, found a blown fuse. Fixed it for free! I was needing a brake controller, so he walked me through the different choices, sold me the parts I needed (they were the same price as Walmart), and even found and pointed out where to plug the harness into the truck. Took me all of 10 minutes to install it at home. These guys are extremely helpful, and the price is just as good or better than Camping World or Walmart on what I needed. Save me huge amounts of time, did it with a smile, cost was at or below their competitors, and on a Sunday. That's as above and beyond as it gets in my book. read more

I have used their services a few times in the past and live right behind them. The services were ok when I used them. I have driven from Speedway entrance through the exit many times for over 2yrs to get home on a dead end cul de sac road named Helen street The Uhauls exit out of here from customers as well as many other cars instead of turning around in the small parking lot they have all of the time through the small street of Helen all of the time. In fact, many vehicles drive INTO the exit, which is dangerous and they may have a collision doing so with another vehicle coming out there someday. Yesterday, I came from the East side through the parking lot from Speedway instead of going all the way around the corner at Craycroft and they had blocked the exit with one of their trailers. I had to turn around and go back out Speedway. There were 2 uhaul workers laughing at me when I asked what was up and they said it wasn't a drive thru. I was pretty pissed they have no right to block the exit. What makes them think they can use the small side road of Helen street where I live as an exit for all of their customers so what is the difference? One of the guys also said I'll be sure to tell the landlord the lady in the (color of the car) is unhappy with it. This is no way to treat anyone not causing any trouble. I hope this jerk gets fired! Btw, the review about the underbody car damage is correct, but not only is the Speedway entrance terrible, the one to Helen is even worse and torn up but I drive my car on an angle for no damage. read more

Never , Never, Never rent a U-Haul from this location. I rented a Uhaul and it was returned and hour and a half late. At drop off nothing was mentioned about additional fees. Upon opening my credit card statement, I discovered I was charged for another full day. When I called to discuss this there was no compromise. Very Rude little boys who work there. I have no choice but to give them a 1 star because the site makes you choose at least one star. They are not worthy of any stars. read more

Rental process was fast and easy. The day after returning the truck I received a phone call claiming it had not been returned, and after explaining who I have the keys to I later received a receipt charging me for fuel when I had in fact filled the tank past the original level. I called to dispute the charges and explained that to the manager. Though he consented that the fuel levels on the receipt may not be accurate, he would not reverse the charge on the grounds that he remembered it being higher (they eyeball their fuel levels). We just moved back to Tucson from Northern California after being gone for two years. 900 miles in 17 hours. The trip itself was good and the truck was great. The issues arose at this U-Haul location. We found an apartment quickly but we were at the end of our 5 days and needed just one more day so we could move everything right out of the truck. It says in the contract that you can keep the truck for an extra day for an additional cost, but when I called to do this I was told that it was impossible because my truck had already been re-rented to someone else. My wife and I then had to rent a storage unit and were up till 2am getting everything out of the truck so we could return it on time. Now we are going to have to borrow a truck from a friend and move again because I will not give this company another $1 after being f*$cked over like this. Extremely displeased with the service. If I could I would rather give negative stars. read more
