I've been coming in and out of this storage space for a few months now, one of the companies I work for and with holds their items here. It's been a really enjoyable experience being in this storage, at least for a storage. The staff are super chill and kind. I appreciate the clean bathroom available on site. Carts and spaces are well maintained and easy to navigate. And there is a variety of storage sizes. This company doubled the rent after 12 months. What they say in their contract is that they can increase the price every four months (after I paid the first 12 months). If you could imagine the costs of moving or paying DOUBLE the rental cost, or being offered a second unit on another floor for a few dollars less, this is what you get. Double. Not a 10, 20, 30 percent increase. A 100% increase. And the lady I spoke with said it will likely go up again in 4 months. I asked her if it could double again. She said it could. It's clearly a fake price to get you in so you don't feel you have a choice after spending hundreds of dollars to move. A scam. And yes, there are unhoused people in the spaces as night. This poor review is solely for the fact that after I had my storage unit for a couple months, they raised the rent on me by more than $100!!!! I'm sure they count on people having their unit full and not wanting to move it to another storage unit or company. Green Valley, Az. - near Duval Mine Road. A nice clean facility, with electronic access. HOWEVER, the elevator has been out of service at least twice in the last 4-6 weeks! (Could be more, I'm not a frequent visitor). No way to notify clients before you load your vehicle and drive to the facility, only to find limited access. Imagine if you rented a truck ($$$) loaded it (time wasted) and then found out that you did not have access (more $$ and wasted time). Hopefully you have forgiving friends. The customer service person at the facility actually suggested that I use the stairs to carry my storage stuff to the third floor! One fail like this is bad, two is a trend, three is unacceptable! A new facility is being built on the next block - I'll look at the first floor there. read more

Beware of Extra Space Storage in Tucson!! They will have you sign up for a storage space and charge you a bunch of upfront "administrative" fees and not tell you that they're low rate per month is only promotional and within a couple months you will get a notice that your rent will be DOUBLED!! Used Extra Space to store the contents of my daughter's dorm room over the summer. They were easy to work with, clean and friendly. Reserving the unit was a breeze, the building is secure, and checking out once I'd removed the contents was super simple. Would definitely recommend for UA parents and students looking for a place close to campus to store items. read more

Wendy and Patricia were awesome! The office and my unit were clean and well kept. I rented my unit online late at night and was able to come in and gain access the next day. They answered all of my questions while also being some of the most personable and friendly people I've ever met. I came in right before closing to gain access to my unit, so I was worried that the office staff might be frustrated, but they took their time to make sure I had everything I needed and seemed more than happy to have me there! read more

I had never needed a storage unit before and fount it to be quite easy using Extra Space Storage. All SIZES AVAILABLE. I only took 10X10 and thankfully I emptied it with a mover they recommended! It's time to write a review for another business that highly deserves it, earning my loyalty through their hard work and diligence. I shopped for storage facilities with the following criteria, and this particular location has proven to be the best choice for my family's needs: SAFETY AND SECURITY - The manager is always doing rounds, greeting customers, helping them, patrolling, etc. Debi is one of the main reasons I go there. She makes the place SAFE for my toddler and me. - Main entrance faces a busy street, the parking lot is clear of any hiding places, and the grounds are brightly lit. - 7 digit code for access - Security cameras inside -INDOOR AIR CONDITIONING It's kept at a really comfortable temperature, cool enough to keep contents safe, and breezy enough to keep the customers happy while they're on site. My toddler and I actually ENJOY being there because of the AC, especially when we visit the top floor which has the most refreshing and cool breeze to mitigate the extra thermal heat. -COST This facility has installed various cost-saving mechanisms, to keep costs reasonable. Motion-sensor controlled hallway lights and air conditioning (to further cool the hallway when someone's working in their unit) keep costs down. Also, I'm an engineer by trade and nerd by heart, and I was pleased to see the high-efficiency AC units on the ceiling and well-designed layout and climate control for each floor. -CLEANLINESS I visit quite often and it always looks and smells as if a professional housekeeper had just been there). Practically dust free. Never seen a critter inside, and my unit is only 15 feet from the main entrance. I do notice that Debi is always doing rounds, checking on things, and picking up. She also had a professional cleaner there shampooing each hallway on each floor. -STAFF If you pay close attention, Debi is always on the scene or behind the scenes. She's always attentive to customers' needs, and I noticed her eyes are always monitoring the place, even if it's just for a small bit of trash on the floor. She's efficient, protective, confident, and just a pleasure to work with. My toddler is very cautious and risk-averse, and he took to Debi instantly. Something about her just helps him feel safe when we visit, and for that, I have endless gratitude. read more

I have received excellent service at this facility. The manager, Wendy, is very informative and helpful. She was very patient showing me different units so that I could decide. Once I rented a unit, I realized that the door wasn't closing properly. Gregory came with me to the unit and decided he could fix it. He got some tools and worked on it for about a half hour. He didn't stop until it was working properly. It was not an easy task and he fixed it with good humor and excellent customer service. read more

Worst storage rental in town! Way over priced, was quoted one price then they attempted to charge me more. Did not disclose that insurance was optional. Was told they would prorate last month but when I moved out I was told they don't do that. The prices are ridiculously high. They prey on people who need a unit quickly. Without using high pressure sales tactics, he let me know there was another unit near mine available That I could rent short term in order to help re-pack and re-organize my hastily moved items. With all the covid 19 pandemic stuff going on I needed to make changes to my personal life and professional life. This meant getting a lot of my things into storage while I figure my life out. I searched all over town to find the right storage facility that met my needs and it led me to extra space storage. I was very fortunate to work with the Tucson branch manager Kimberly Bergstrom. She was kind, informative, and attentive. There were a few hiccups along our process but she took the time and the effort to make sure I knew I was valued as a customer and as a person by calling back, listening. Extra space storage is lucky to have such a wonderful employee who truly cares about the people that she's trying to help. Thank you so much for being so wonderful during such a tough time for everyone. Serving the public during a stressful time is difficult as people are more easily agitated or irritable, yet Kim did it with a smile and compassionate tone. The facility is clean and easily accessible. The hours of access are also reasonable. The best part is it is climate controlled and the pricing is competitive with other similar facilities. This place rips you off! Had been renting storage unit over a year before Extra Space Storage took over. Previous owners did not force renters to buy THEIR insurance like ESS does. Saw my larger storage rent jump up high not even them having the business a year! Called and complained, they lowered a couple of bucks then went up again. Now paying 260.00 and change. Got notice in mail my smaller unit rent going up to 101.00! If you go to you unit after office hours, they lock the bathroom door, they removed the inside trash cans and the dumpster outside is locked...so if you want to throw anything away, you have to lug it home! Don't be fooled by their low rents they offer to get you in, they'll jump your rent before a year and tack on their insurance without telling you. They also put their business tag on your lock without your permission and they are hard to take off. I tried and got part off only to have them put a new one over it. Check out other places, I did and moving to a larger unit renting less than what I am paying now. They suck big time. read more

Debbie at this facility is the BEST to work with. Always positive, always courteous, she will go out of her way to meet your storage needs. Case in point: I already had a unit but needed another larger one to use as a staging area to go through the large amount of stuff in the small unit. She found a unit just yards away from mine and gave me a great deal on it. Without my asking, as she saw me getting rid of lots of things in my unit, she highlighted new, smaller units that they had created that might suit my needs.
