I have attempted to have communication with this location and corporate for months about my Ubox move from the Midwest. Short story is the beginning location didn't seem to enter my information correctly and neither them nor the final location, nor corporate were able to find my Ubox while it was in transit. So pretty much I wasn't sure if everything I own was lost. Finally I was called and rudely chastised because my box arrived, but I wasn't scheduled to pick it up for several days. When I showed up to pick up my belongings I was told they didn't have my box, but after an hour found they did, then that it would take hours to retrieve. So, I paid movers to sit around for hours and do nothing... After talking with this location and corporate several times (having to retell my story time and time again and follow up with responses that in no way addressed my concerns.) seeking reimbursement for at least the cost they caused me to incur, I was finally told that my box was never lost and that I didn't have to wait hours after arriving. Seems I must have imagined all of this. So, the overpriced move cost me hundreds of extra dollars to pay overpriced movers and then waste hours of my life on the phone to be told none of this ever happened. read more

Not only do they never pick up the phone, they never reply to any of the messages my husband and I leave. When I call the main UHaul customer service line, they can't get ahold of this location either -- nor can they do anything about getting our containers. The kicker?! My husband's credit card info -- which we used to book the delivery and moving of our containers -- was just used fraudulently. read more

Slow and surly. Seriously amazing and almost humorous. U-Haul must pay absolute minimum wage reflected in the disinterested attitudes of the employees. They do not give a rip about customers. 20 minutes to get change after purchasing two boxes. To be fair, the first young lady was helpful and nice, but she wasn't allowed to handle cash. ? I had a 10 dollar bill. She was the only one in the store. She had to go outside to get the surly cash handler girl who was directing traffic to keep customers OUT of their parking lot. The surly girl didn't have any ones or fives in her cash drawer. She had to go outside to ask Linda for the key to Linda's cash drawer. Linda wouldn't give her the key. Surly girl could have made change with her quarters but didn't want to give me her quarters. Back outside to ask Linda again. Nope, Linda was holding her ground. Can't have her key and can't bother to come in to help. After around 20 minutes and 3 trips outside, surly girl acquiesces and counts out her quarters. She then pretty much dumps them in my hand without a word. Nice customer service. read more

First of all, let me acknowledge that anyone at this location saw the very worst of me... because the people who work here brought out my very worst. That said I should have kept my cool better, and definitely not used a misogynistic term (b****), even though I just meant it as synonymous with a**hole, which I also used although both slightly indirectly ("if you're going to act like a... ). I also shouldn't have used that, nor the numerous F bombs I dropped. However, I firmly believe the manager should not act in a way which so strongly provokes a reaction, particularly the way she treated my wife, who is an immigrant from Asia and is sometimes treated unfairly because of it. I doubt that played any role in the manager's behavior, but I mention it just because it affected my reaction. I will explain. This location has no parking and they make no apologies for it. So, if you rent a vehicle from them, do not expect to leave your vehicle there. I avoided this problem when picking up by getting a ride to the office (where I spent way more time than seems necessary to get started with a 1 hour rental). However, on the return, my wife followed in our car to pick me up after giving back the van we rented. There was no clear indication where I should take the van (a sign reading "return lane" is above one part of the lot, perpendicular (and therefore not visible) to the entrance, nor where my wife should wait. Unfortunately, she chose a spot that seemed out of the way in a large, reasonably empty lot. However, the manager decided that was the spot that she wanted to park large truck that, counter to her later claim, was safely in the parking lot and not extending into traffic. This manager decided the proper way to treat a customer was to lay on the horn, a completely clear way to communicate (sarcasm) the response she wanted from my wife. My wife moved, but not where the manager wanted, so she again laid on the horn multiple times. My wife, perplexed--again, because there were no clear markings--moved again, only to receive more laying one the horn. At this point I began to give the woman the finger and to shout obscenities (obviously not the proper response, and not what I would like to have done, but I was so angry with how my wife was being treated that I was not completely rational). However, after my outburst, I was able to regain my composure, but to the clear discomfort of her subordinates, the manger was not calm in screaming at me to get off her lot and informing that I would be banned as a customer from a place I have no interest in revisiting. However, I was afraid of the ways I might be overcharged, so I was not prepared to just sulk off with no confirmation of my final charges. Finally she checked and told me the final charge, but told me I couldn't get a receipt because the printer is broken (a fine operation, this place is). She also called her boss who apparently lives above the offices. The manager then proceeded to completely mischaracterize the interaction, minimizing her own role and characterizing me as menacing, intimidating, and far beyond my own acknowledged level of inappropriate. I asked the boss to ask the manager's subordinates for their version of the story, but the boss said she did not need to, because she has tapes of the entire thing. I'm sure the tapes are embarrassing for me, but corroborate my story while refuting the manager's story. I told the boss that I would be happy to review the tapes along with her, but she told me in no uncertain terms that they are the property of U-Haul, and that she had no obligation to show them to me. I'm well aware that the optics of all of this are terrible. I'm not certain, but I believe both of the women I attempted to talk with were women of color, and I'm a white guy. However, they were very clear in demonstrating full control of the power dynamic as they run the branch of a large corporation with the ability to charge me however they may like. Fortunately, while I have not received any of the email receipts I was promised, my current credit card charge still seems to reflect the price the manager quoted me (at my insistence). So, if you're comfortable knowing that any complaints you'll make about almost certain poor service likely won't be met with retribution in the form of invalid credit charges, by all means, do business here, but if you'd like a slightly higher bar, look elsewhere. read more

The experience of showing up and actually obtaining your rental is pretty atrocious. Good luck finding an employee and getting accurate instructions of what to do. Oh and if your keys are waiting for you in the lockbox the code you're given will be wrong so you need to chase down another employee to open it. Unfortunately they have a list of codes in their pocket and will try them each one by one. All twenty or so of them. Until one works. Then the rental materials you rented won't be in the truck so you get to go back inside to ask for your materials. Approximately twenty minutes after arriving you might be close to driving off in your rental. The van itself was in terrific condition (only 32 miles on it!). Returned it 7 hours later and the drop off process was easy. But the way this location is organized and run is puzzling. Pack your patience. read more

I'm not sure what the heck the problem is here- I have consistently had bad experiences here. We just went in to buy a box- how does that take 30 min? I have experienced their storage (previous employer had one there), truck rental and overall retail (see box above) and all of it is clearly sub-par. When we rented a truck- and I realize that this is Uhaul overall, not this specific one-it was hella expensive, especially in light of the fact you get the truck for 4 hours, not the whole day. The storage thing was a mess as well, they'd lock us out of our unit mistakenly (we did fall behind a few times) and we'd have to argue to get in, not good service and the prices were really high for storage. Overall- if there's ANY rental place closer, use that one, otherwise, be prepared to wait for f-ing ever and likely get snotty service while you're at it. read more

Flying to Greece and back to purchase a donkey to carry your belongings would take less time than attempting to claim a reserved truck from this location. I have tried renting from here twice, checked in ahead of time, arrived as early as possible and yet both times I've stood in line for *at least* an hour with my fellow Uhaul prisoners while one (MAYBE two) associates do their best impression of the sloths from Zootopia to complete the reservation and hand over keys. So, my fiance bought some moving boxes here. Ends up she accidentally bought some medium boxes and meant to buy small ones. So she and I went over to exchange our unused, U-Haul boxes. I guess you should know things aren't going to end well when you pull up to find a young lady sitting on the curb in front of the store crying hysterically and telling someone on her cell phone how U-Haul just completely f*ed her over. We ignored the signs... So, we took our boxes in and tried to trade them. They asked for the receipt. We told them we didn't have it with us, but they were bought there, clearly were unused and we didn't want any money back. Just an exchange. And we'd buy more boxes to boot. The guy looked a little panicked and asked some lady (the boss I think) if we could exchange them. She snapped "NO!" After cursing her under our breath, we went to the U-Haul over in Issaquah and they gladly exchanged them without complaint or question. These things are franchised, so don't lump them all into the same bucket. I owe the Issaquah location a good review because they've always been great. But this place... stay away. read more

Just don't do it. Literally go anywhere else, even if it costs way more. I should have trusted all the other terrible reviews... Yesterday, I scheduled a hitch installation online for this location today at 11am, got an appointment confirmation email, and paid $363. Today, I drove over there for the installation. Their parking lot was a disorganized mess full of trash. After waiting in line, the employee told me he had no idea I was scheduled for the hitch install, that the hitch installation guy wasn't even at work today, and that it would probably take a week or more to get the parts shipped there, but he had no way to check. Then I asked if he could refund me. He said he didn't know how, with no follow-up suggestions. I asked for a phone number to get a refund, and he gave me the generic corporate U-Haul number. I called that, waited 25 minutes on hold, finally talked to someone, and she helped me START the refund process. She said the manager of that location would have 72 hours to handle the request. Without having made an appointment, it was nice to be able to walk in and get a moving van immediately. Well... almost immediately. I walked in and both people behind the counter were on the phone. I stood for a good five minutes while they took several calls, not once putting anyone on hold to even say hi to me. Finally, another employee came in. They grabbed the phone as well, and began taking other calls that apparently were already on hold. Cripes! A space opened up and I finally got served. In-town rates are REALLY FRICKEN expensive. $20 for a van for an hour or two plus like $.58 a mile... tack on insurance, tax, gas, and an environmental charge, and this turned into a $60 expense. My really cheap couch from Craig's List suddenly wasn't so cheap. The truck smelled like cat piss. Seriously. Someone must have moved, and just let their cat go wild in the back of that truck. Bleach, people, bleach. And some air fresheners. Ugh. read more

I can not and will not recommend this location to anyone. Staff was overwhelmed, it took nearly 90 minutes to pick up a trailer that I had already done an online check-in for. When I spoke to a rep of the store to request a 1 day extension of my contract, I was rudely treated and hung up upon. I then unloaded the cargo into a parking space at my apartment in order to return the trailer before the allotted time and rushed to the dealer. Once there (_ON TIME!_) it took over an hour to check the trailer in and receive my paperwork. The final indignity was being charged a full day plus insurance for the 1 hour over time. read more

Really, unless you're desperate for an exercise in how you can ensure you have a bad day, don't go here. I tried to make a phone reservation the day before I needed a cargo van with this location, and the guy said "we're really busy now, could I call you back?" Sure I said, and gave him my number. Five minutes before they are going to close, and I'm going to have to figure something else out the day of my move, I called them back. Strike one, but a reservation was apparently made. I show up at the time of my reservation, impressed by their guarantee of on time reservations. Forget about it. Yeah, the van or truck may be in the lot on time, but if you think you can get in and out in the amount of time that most any other business would process customers, you're misguided. One person in front of me in line, two people working behind the counter, forty five minute wait. And, the guy in front of me was just trying to return a van. Outrageous. Strike two. Extra fees for not having proof of insurance. Annoying, but forgivable. Long wait on return of cargo van for agent to make his way outside and inspect the car. Strike three. All around this experience was terrible. You're well worth your money getting a zip car, hiring cheap movers, borrowing a friend's truck/car, paying for shipping, or otherwise forgoing use of this facility. Embarrassing customer service. Parked in the only available parking to pick up some boxes. We had parked in front of where they have the trucks stored abo it 30ft from the nearest truck. We would have been gone in 2 minutes with the boxes and freed up the lanes, instead as we were entering the building an associate came out and told us we couldn't park there "in case somebody rented a truck". I explained we'd be out in barely any time. He was extremely rude. "What was your plan if somebody has to rent a truck?" I said to "move the car" and he said no you need to park 3 blocks down the street. I said we would get to our boxes somewhere else and he said "that's on you". Zero customer service, petty and clearly doesn't want your business during the tough economic times. Don't go here. They don't care at all. I manage my own customer service facing business and have to have tougher conversations with customers that can be resolved with a little bit of compassion or explanation. This was an easy to one. We would have moved the if asked nicely, but apparently that is not in this locations wheelhouse. If they can't handle this situation imagine if they had a a real problem. I would stay far away from here. I would recommend Lowe's down the street a block. They were very helpful. read more

Went to this U-Haul location to help a friend move. He had been turned away the day before because he did not have a credit card in his name to pay for the rental. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH OR CHECKS. I went with him thinking to myself, "How bad could this be?" I was SHOCKED when I went entered the store and was met by the three most incompetent, rude, and arrogant staff members of any establishment I have ever been to. The woman processing our reservation told us they had no trucks available, even though another male employee said he had placed a reservation the night before. Thankfully, one younger employee helped her completely clueless co-worker find us a truck to us. There was no apology or explanation, but rather a lecture about how we "did not go through the right steps to make a proper reservation." The entire process was littered with complaints and useless lecturing from a condescending employee. Before we left, I realized they messed up the order by overcharging us initially and incorrectly gauging how much gas was in the van. When we pointed this out to the employee, she slammed her hands on the keyboard and took another 10 minutes to correct her error! It took us over 30 minutes just to rent a truck! I would NEVER advise or recommend this location to anyone. Call up your friends or find a stranger that has a truck because they will be infinitely more helpful than this location. I have never had any problems at other U-Haul locations and have no clue how this place is still open based on all the terrible reviews. This is not first time that I use U-Haul, but here was my worst experience ever.I've rented 18 blankets, 7 were lost, so I wanted to pay a fee, or buy these blankets. But Roni, prefered not help , working out any solution, he didn't want to talk at all, just applied the daily fee, until I bring back the missing blanket. My experience with U-Haul has been nothing short of a fraudulent disaster. First, I called the national UHaul number to find out where I could buy a hitch locally for my RAV-4. They confirmed this local branch had one, so I went ahead and "reserved" it, including providing my credit card information (first mistake). Then I showed up at this local U-Haul location 2 days later during the exact time of my reservation. I had all the info but the worker couldn't find my reservation. Since I had already come that far and I really needed a hitch that weekend, I went ahead and gave them my credit card again (another mistake). The worker ran my credit card and charged me for the same hitch a second time. I walked away with my hitch and installed it myself. Then I got my credit card bill and saw the 2 charges, including one with an additional charge for a warranty which I explicitly said I didn't want. So I called the local UHaul and after waiting over 10 minutes for someone to answer the phone, I explained my situation and they said they couldn't help me and recommended I call the national number. So I called the national number, but they said I needed to call the local store to get my refund (!). I refused to accept that answer so they put me on hold while they tried to get a hold of the local store. 2 hours (yes, 2 hours!) later the call simply hung up. I was fed up and needed a break, so I waited a week and called the local store again. Again it took upwards of 15 minutes for someone to actually pick up the phone. I explained my situation again. This worker was the first glimmer of hope and he worked with the national call center and said he figured it all out and could process my refund (while I was on hold for over 30 minutes). Great! But then the system wouldn't let him give a refund to my card (argh) so he said he would send a check instead (fine) but then the system wouldn't even let him do that! He said I had to come into the local location to get my refund (during COVID!). Frustratingly I went in, and of course the worker I talked to on the phone wasn't there and another worker tried to help me. He found the reservation but said he had no way to grant my refund. I'd have to come back in when the other worker was in. (ARGH). Who has that kind of time? I won't even go into how I witnessed one of the other workers verbally assault a customer (even if the customer was acting rude, that is no way to treat another human). So I called the national number again the next day and very nicely asked for a refund. The worker I talked to was very helpful and he tried his best, but 45 minutes later, all he could do is connect me back with the local branch. (Anybody noticing a cycle here?). Then the local branch put me on hold AGAIN for over 20 minutes. For anybody keeping track, I've been on the phone for a total of almost 4 hours, not counting the time it took to make the initial order. Fortunately, the local worker who helped me yesterday was there and able to finally process a refund. He said he had to refund the payment I made in-store, since he couldn't process a refund on the phone order I made. Whatever, at that point I just wanted the nightmare to end. My recommendation to you is to avoid UHaul entirely! The amount of effort required of me to undo a fraudulent charge that UHAUL made is completely unacceptable. This whole experience has been burned in my mind and they have lost a customer for life. No question I will tell this war story to anybody I ever encounter who is considering U-HAUL. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I reserved a truck online weeks before my move and received a confirmation email when I reserved the truck and the morning of my move. When we arrived at Uhaul, they didn't have the truck and the manager basically shrugged us off and told us to come back at eleven. It's now past noon and we have no truck still. read more

Man, this place must have been having a good couple of days, based on these reviews, but I was seriously impressed. We had no reservation whatsoever because we're major procrastinators. We walked in on Friday to buy boxes, and a super nice older guy helped us and was cracking jokes and just generally relieving the stress of moving (which is my least favorite activity ever). We told them we wanted a 17' truck, but we knew the availability would be tough, so we'd take whatever we could get. He made a reservation for a 26' that he knew would be there the next day, with the stipulation that if something else came in that was smaller, we could take that instead. (He also told us they buy back whatever boxes we bought that we didn't end up needing, which is a cool policy.) The next day we showed up at 9am and dealt with different staff (who seemed a little tired but were still nice) and they did a few minutes of checking and discovered that there was indeed a 17' that had been dropped off the previous night. The truck was clean, surprisingly modern, and served our needs perfectly. We came back and dropped it off later that same afternoon, which involved a 30-second inspection from the guy outside. Our receipt was emailed to us. We were expecting a lot more bureaucracy and waiting, but our experience was smooth and totally painless. Maybe they've cleaned up their act. read more

Waited in line for 1 1/2 hours with only 5 people in front of us to get the keys to rent. I think we could have finished in the time we waited, but we already pre-paid for the van. Lynda and the other gal with glasses were pleasantly jovial, laidback and attentive. I made an online reservation 1-2 days prior last week and when I approached the counter, I wasn't really turned off at all. It looked like one person was busy so I waited a moment but Lynda noticed me and I kind of got the hint that she knew I had a res at my set time. It was a busy morning and they were also just having fun at the fact that so many people were asking for trucks but they didn't have shit until past 5PM---and the fact that I managed to get the last truck (which I thank my reservation for!). From entering and going through the motions, I'd say about 15-20 minutes past before I got in my truck van and left. I even got one of the newer Ford Econoline vans! Suh-weet. 23 miles on the odometer. Power mirrors. Good sound. The inside of this van had plenty of wall 2x4's for you to secure things and durable rubber floor mat. -Pros to it: Stuff won't slide; extra secure. -Cons to it: You can't slide stuff to that corner you can't reach. Was I fortunate compared to the reviews? Maybe, who knows. read more

I had a fine experience here and was especially impressed with the polite efficiency of the staff, so giving them 5 stars, despite Uhaul being pricier than I expected. All 3 staff members I saw seemed friendlier than average so judging from previous reviews there's been some new hires. Reserved online a few hours before, I was in the system when I arrived. There was a bit of a line, but very understandable as there was only one lady handling the whole place in the morning. She was kind, quick, and apologetic about the wait. Van I rented was fine. Returning was quick and easy, there's a gas station nearby to refuel, and both staff members I saw while returning were very nice. Downsides: More expensive than I expected. I didn't realize how quickly 1.09 a mile would add up! Thankfully I was just picking up and moving some furniture in-town. I recommend doing the math on how many miles you have to go so you can weigh your options. read more

These people are both incompetent and rude. I had to schedule, reschedule and cancel a hitch install in 2020 when they failed to receive the hitch for my Outback. So I tried again in 2021. Made my reservation. Canceled our other plans for the day to leave open the install window. Called in to be sure they had the hitch before I came in, but too ??? to answer phone, and was switched over to their regional phone center. They could not confirm. So just waited and went in. No apology when I arrived and the guy said, with a tone of go away. Hitch. We don't have a hitch for you. This store is HORRIBLE. No apologies from them, because they don't give a rip if the stand you up. I am rescheduling elsewhere, even though it is at least 10 miles further. read more

Took me 50 minutes to pick up my reserved U-Haul, booked online. Not acceptable. I spent the majority of my time waiting while the agent was attempting to multi-task, with a crap attitude. Was told I would receive a confirmation call the day of reservation, never received it, but I did receive 2 text messages and 2 emails. The "small deposit" was nearly $100.00. Is that really necessary? I have good credit and funds available on my debit/credit cards, but having them freeze $100.00 on my card - and on day 4 after the rental, it's still not available concerns me. Night drop was easy enough. Their fuel price for propane is significantly higher then other places. Unfortunately, there are not many other options when you need a 14" cargo truck with a ramp. It was what I needed. Cost: $19.99 (per 24 hours) + .99/mile. Total (4 hours) with taxes and 10 miles: $35.00 Received an email at 7AM with the charges on my card. That, I like. Being a seasoned Yelp'er, I read all the reviews on this location. Unfortunately, there are no other locations or options in this price range for my needs at this, in the area. read more

This place is super busy and under staffed. Employees work hard but don't know how to prioritize customers. For example, I had 10am appointment that THEY set for a hitch install, yet they didn't start my work for 4 hours, even though I was in their store waiting for it. After a total of 6 hours of waiting, it was finally done, and the install was perfect. Beware of the disgusting restroom with no bathroom tissue or paper towels. Also, I witnessed one customer get refused service because he got upset and slightly raised his voice. This made me wary to complain much until they finished my installation. read more

I've been renting trailers from these guys for 2-3 years now. The place is often busy, waits can be long and sometimes they can be a little slow. However, they never forget a face, they're as kind as can be and Linda in particular is always doing her best to hustle and get you out the door asap. For those of you who think this is a sketchy area, I'd have to disagree. I was genuinely surprised at how fantastic the employees were -- they were so friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. To me U Haul is U Haul, they are on a street in Seattle that is busy. I shop at Lowes all the time so it was convenient to do an extra trip to get some soil for my yard. I rented at 10 am, I think that was a good time to rent because the line was non-existent, no one was returning trucks at same time........ My advice to the franchise owner is that you may want to schedule a lot of bookings so increase the staff to help check people in and out -- have 1 line to check in and another line for returns. read more
