Pick-up on a Friday, gave us a truck with a broke side mirror, got a 2nd one told us it was full of gas. It wasn't. Returning the truck, was a nightmare. Couldn't get into the lot. They are cleaning the trucks where you return the trucks and they were behind. So returning on Saturday creates a backup onto Rte 1. My husband made a way into the lot. Gave the keys to someone and they gave him a receipt. We got charged for 2 days not one and we returned it full of gas-no credit. Won't use this location again. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! Talk about an icon when it comes to reliable sources whenever you have any moving needs. It's been the same all my life. They have everything needed: blankets, boxes, dolly's, tape, plastic wrap, bubble wrap, straps, locks, paper to use for dishes, fragiles, etc. All sizes of vehicles for any need. We really needed over the four weekend and it was just what our budget could afford. We had ramp to use right to our front porch for easier loading and unloading. The model of our vehicle had room for three people, which added extra convenience to have enough people to help move. It's an easy process, but bless these employees, because some customers are grumpy, rushing, and demanding. So don't be that person, make nice, act like what you want to be treated. Got my propane refilled here getting ready for all the grillin I am gonna be doing the rest of the Summer. Decent price compared to switching tanks. The fill up was pretty quick. The store was pretty busy, but they were able to fill up my tank without too much of await. I will definitely be returning here for my propane refill needs for grilling. I can not comment on the actual truck rental service, but there were a lot of trucks at this location and a ton of boxes. So it looks like it would definitely satisy all your needs that U-haul is known to offer. read more

They told me to have the truck back before 5pm on a Sunday to avoid a $20 after hours fee. I arrived back a 4:35pm. When I checked the vehicle out they said to wait outside upon returning and someone would help me. After waiting a few minutes I went inside where a female employee promptly told me that if I was dropping off to leave the keys in the vehicle. Something told me to take a photo of the mileage, gas, time of drop off. They charged me the $20 anyway. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I reserved a truck in advance and expected to pick up quickly and efficiently as I usually can at other U haul dealers, but this was not the case. I asked the manager for assistance as there was a line and it was already cutting into my pick up time. He rudely told me to wait at the back of the line. We ended up getting the notification to check in on the app and it told me I can skip the line to get my car key. I go to my truck and they parking break will not release and I go to the supervisor and get nothing but attitude the entire time. I have paid for movers and had to cancel with them. I've never had this experience at U Haul. This manager should not be in this position the way he runs his store. read more

This is the second time that I've done business with U-HAUL. The first time was bad, and the second time was worst. I had an appointment at 12 to have a hitch installed. The manager asked me to arrive at 11. So I arrived at 11. They pulled my SUV into the shop only to realize that they didn't have the hitch. Instead it was in Baltimore. So, they had it sent to the shop, and told me that it would take 15-20 minutes to arrive. I waited an hour and a half for it to be delivered. I had to leave to go back to work. I asked for a refund but couldn't get it because their computer system was down. It took four days just to get the company to finally process my refund. I just don't understand why it was so important for me to get there at 11 when the hitch wasn't even there!!! The lady who works there is extremely rude. She has no sense of customer service. Needless to say, I'll never do business again with U-HAUL. read more

This U-Haul is great. I had fast service and a friendly staff. I was moving to VA and had to call a few times to ask questions and they gave me good and practical advice. When I asked if I could drop the truck off after hours without paying for a 2nd day they said they would allow me to do so. When I did drop it off, before they closed, the staff was quick and explained everything to me in detail. Overall, every time I've gone to this location I've been treated great. read more

With sadness, this review will conclude my Yelping life in Howard County (though I think the location is actually in Prince George's County). We it finally came time for my wife and me to move to Virginia, we decided to do a self move. For our move from Philly, we did use professional movers, and it was a complete disaster. (Rule of thumb. Never give a bad review to someone who knows your exact address.) So we rounded up a few friends and got a U-Haul. What I can say is that everything on U-Haul of Laurel's side went smoothly. That really should be enough to say. When you make a move, you need as little drama as possible, and we got none from them. We actually dealt with them twice. The first time, we had a moderate wait to pick up our packing supplies. The second we had a moderate wait to get the van. There were no problems either time though. What can I say. U-Haul of Laurel, has robbed us of our money and keeps giving us the run around. They charged us over $500 without an explanation. My husband and I have both called and gone to the physical store to talk to a manager or someone in charged but everybody claims not to have an answer. Prior to arriving online I did the precheck online even capturing my drivers license, etc to save time once I arrived that morning as we were on a tight schedule to get to Baltimore. Upon arriving there was a line of people in front of me that had not done the prework online it appeared so I had to wait behind them, no savings there. When I did get to the counter the reps were great but the process was to repeat everything and verify everything I entered online, including asking for the drivers license information and backup phone number which I had entered online. In a nutshell all the online data and images I did in advance did not save me any time period. I would ask Uhaul to review there check-in and queuing process since I was led to believe that providing the data online would get me in and out quickly. It didn't. The rental was fine, returning the van was quick and easy later in the day. Again the reps working for Uhaul were nice and professional. In the end, it was a good experience with the exception of the check-in process which needs to be improved. read more

I would give this U-Haul a zero or less if I could. Long story short, I had a dispute with them over the amount of gas that the truck was returned with; after arguing for several minutes with them, they conceded that it was closer to what I said than what they said initially and that they wouldn't charge me. Upon being emailed the receipt, I see that they lied and charged me anyway. This is all after the truck didn't even have the amount that was marked for the pick up, but it was close enough, so I didn't bother to dispute it. Stay away from this U-Haul; incredibly unprofessional and apparently are liars. read more

It was a busy Sunday morning with a lot of people behind me. I was just buying boxes and also returning a lock that was the wrong fit for my storage unit. The young guy at the counter was nice enough and supposedly executed the return but one week later, I still don't see it on my credit card but they sure did charge me for my boxing materials. Partly my fault after I left the line that I didn't ask for a transaction of the return as he just handed me my original receipt but I felt pressured to keep it moving so the lot of folks behind me wouldn't get any more frustrated. So I basically paid $9.99 for an invisible lock (i.e donated my money to uhaul). This uhaul should teach their employees to properly execute return transactions. read more

The ONLY thing I like about U-Haul is Brandon. He works at this location, and of three locations I've been to over the past weekend he was the only employee that actually gave a sh*t and genuinely wanted to help. He went above and beyond to help my husband and I get everything situated for our move. Without him things would have been horrible. He turned a very stressful and chaotic moving situation into something we could handle. I won't be returning to U-Haul but Brandon is exceptional. I was told over the phone that I would have to pay $29.99 and an $80 deposit. When I got to the store, they said my subtotal was $54 and some change. They said the truck had 5/8 of a tank of gas, but it actually had a half a tank. I moved from Columbia to Columbia and we put $17 in gas into the truck. Three days later my bank account showed that they took another $16 out of my account for1/7 of a tank of gas. That's $6 for actual gas and over $10 for tax on that gas. I feel robbed. They have my debit card number and have seen fit to add extra fees three days after I returned the truck. I hope they don't come up with any more fees. Bottom line, check the fuel level before you pull away and pay the $80 cash deposit and NEVER give them your debit card info. They are scamming and stealing over there. No integrity. read more

We were running very late to pick-up our reserved truck so I called them just before their scheduled closing time and told them where I was and that traffic was bad - they said not to worry about it and to call again in 25-minutes if I wasn't close. When I got there they were cleaning up and ready to go home but were still there waiting for me. They were very patient and explained everything I needed to know. This store is fucking horrible. Tried to charge me double and falcified the recipt to show that there was a later drop off than ot axtually was to charge me an entire day. Had i not randomly checked my acct, i wouldnt have known. The fact that you already rob people with these hidden fees is a atrocious, then you do some sneaky underhanded shit? Sickening! Rented a truck for a one-way trip. The service was helpful though there was a little complication. The uhaul site only offered a tow dolly option but the csr told me that wouldn't work and I needed an auto transport. Without explaining that an auto transport is a different tow dolly I began to get frustrated. Well I was able to tow my car so that was good. However the car trailer did not work well with my 2dr sedan. I had to climb out the window to get out because the trailer fenders blocked my door. Luckily I can close and open my Windows without having to be in the car. Lastly the trailer is a beast to deal with loading and unloading as well as hitching. The ramps are locked in by heavy heavy duty springs. When hitching the lock mechanism is secure but complex because you can't nudge the trailer in any direction. read more
