There are the typical headaches with insurance, auto body repairs and rentals! BUT NOT if you take your 'injured' ride to Caton Auto Body! This establishment is first class in every way! From the time you walk in and are welcomed by the lovely, soft-spoken, kind, efficient, gentle-lady at the front desk until you drive away with your 'good as new' vehicle, the service is awesome! The estimator is kind, friendly, courteous, quick, and accurate, offering transparency with his detailed assessment, including cost and time required for the repairs. The details are handed to you in a printed itemized report. After the estimate was completed and I waited to be picked up by the rental company, (which was taking some time despite having told me "I'm on the way") the aforementioned lovely and thoughtful front desk lady offered to contact them for a polite nudge (but I refused). My vehicle was repaired just as estimated (very quickly) and looked perfect. They even cleaned the 'polleny' exterior...so shiny! Again 'the lovely' offered to notify the rental company that my rental was there so they could pick it up....saving me the trip!! See what I mean? They ARE AWESOME! I am a new customer to Caton's and have been to this shop on two separate occasions. I have found everyone I came across to be courteous, friendly, professional and extremely helpful. In my first visit, I had an oil change appointment. There must have been some type of mistake and my appointment wasn't on the books. Not only did they take me, I was out in 30 minutes. I had asked to have air put in a tire; they found a nail and fixed the tire - no charge. My first visit! I then received notification from my car dealer (I have a 2024 Kia, not a luxury vehicle) that I was due for brakes. I again made an appointment with Caton to go over my car and let me know what I needed done and/or what would need to be done in the near future and when. Can I tell you that Caton looked over my car, addressed my questions/concerns, actually took time to ask what my specific concerns were. This exceptional quality of service is more than worth the cost they would have charged me - but again, they did not charge me anything for this appointment. Caton's has my trust, has my business and absolutely has my heartfelt recommendation to others; I've already told my coworkers about them. I think it is important to point out that I am a 67yo single woman. I have been lied to and taken advantage of by auto repair shops because of that. What a blessing to find this shop. But when you go, if you wait for your vehicle, bring your coffee/soda as this is a no frills shop and no stores nearby. My family had taken cars to Caton Autobody in Laurel before and we always had good experiences with them BUT I called yesterday to get an appointment for an estimate on a collision and the receptionist couldn't have been more hostile. She answered the phone angrily before anything was even said. When she learned I had State Farm as an insurer, she got more angry and said they'd only do an estimate IF State Farm assigns the claim directly to them first. I said their website said they do free estimates and she barked ONLY IF THEY ASSIGN US THE CLAIM. Click. I like to support local businesses but not this time I guess. read more

When my car was parked at work, someone accidentally hit it, causing damage to the back quarter panel and tire well (driver's side). I went with Caton Autobody because it was close to my home. The work itself was great and I had my car back a day before it was estimated. My only complaint is that the cds in my visor organizer had been rifled through and the USB lightning cord had been removed (stolen). These were inside the car and not in the way, so there was absolutely no reason for the repair guys to have TOUCHED them! The lightning cable was plugged into the USB port in the glove compartment so it would have taken some effort to remove it. I'm not going to make a deal over a $10.00 cord and none of my cds were actually stolen (I guess they didn't like my taste in music), but it's disappointing. I would recommend this place for the quality of their work, HOWEVER, I would recommend that you NOT leave ANYTHING in your car that you don't wish to part with. read more

Let's see, left my month old Jeep to get the undercoating sprayed. Ill start off first by saying they got the job done quickly and the guy at the front desk was very friendly. When I Got my Jeep back the driver side floor was very dirty, front bumper was lose, ac was at full blast, radio turned to a station that I dont listen to turned up pretty loud. Front bumper and wheel well areas scuffed. What ever happened to returning the vehicle the way they received it. Not very happy at all. read more

I had my car repaired here arranged through my insurance company. The estimate was reasonable so we set it up. The repair ended up taking 14 days which I thought was a little long but they stated up front that it would be 10-14 days.So the day I'm picking up my car and returning the rental I knocked off the passenger side mirror of the rental! I called them spoke with Chad and he quickly found a replacement mirror and said they could fix it the next day. I think these people are great. Thieves! I was in a car accident that only affected the bumper. This auto shop was very unprofessional and gave me a hard time. Although only the bumper was affected the auto mechanic us stole my iPod, gps, and money that was all the way on the bottom of my glove compartment. Matt @ Caton Auto brought my car back to life! He's the man. Some dude fell asleep at the wheel and swerved across road...smashing into my trusty 2000 Honda Civic (parked) outside my house in Federal Hill. The impact was so severe that it pushed my car up the curb, onto the sidewalk, and smashed it into the tree square's wooden retaining wall. There was damage to the hood, front fender, quarter panel, two rims, suspension components, mirror, etc. $2,400 worth of damage. The dude's insurance carrier (Allstate) easily could have totaled the car once we approached $1,700 worth of damages to the car. That's well within their rights. However, I made my intentions clear to Matt that I wanted to keep the car at all costs, and not total it. The insurance payout for a totaled vehicle would have been likely $2,500...which is thousands below the true replacement/market value of this particular car. Matt worked with Allstate to ensure that we can have the car repaired and avoid totaling the vehicle. And he got it done. Kudos, Caton Auto Body. The best part? The work they did was top-notch. The used 'recycled' replacement parts that they sourced were in good shape. They repainted the body parts and the paint looks beautiful. You can't tell that the vehicle was ever hit. No paint over spray (very common). If any vehicle of mine is ever hit again (knock on wood), I'll definitely be back to Caton AB. Thank you guys. read more

Someone backed in to my car and jarred my bumper so that a screw came out. I commute 50+ miles and have horrid luck so I envisioned my bumper flying off driving up 95. I frantically called various shops and none would even let me speak to someone that could decide if they could help. Until Caton. The receptionist got Dave on the phone who said they'd look at it and see what they could do. I stopped over to their body shop an hour later and Billy came out, said they probably didn't have the RIGHT screw but that he could make it work. Sure enough, 5 minutes later comes out with a screw and VOILA, my bumper is secure. AND didn't charge me for it. I definitely need some repairs made that ANOTHER body shop hasn't fixed right 3 times and will give them a shot. So thank you Dave and Billy for helping out in a pinch! read more

I forget the gentlemen's name that gave me my estimate (which was very reasonable ) but wow did he make a frustrating situation into a painless process. My family has been taking vehicles to Caton Auto Body for years and have not had any problems until now. It took over three months for my vehicle to be correctly repaired, and I never got calls about the progress. I had to call myself, and still was not called back when promised. I had to get rental cars three separate times so they could fix the mistakes that they were making. I would not recommend taking your car here to get repaired unless you have endless time to wait, want poor customer service, and want to be stressed out. read more
