I brought my 2021 Honda CR-V to Firestone after a starting problem. They diagnosed a failed starter, starter relay board, and engine oil-pressure switch and quoted me $2,180 The estimate raised several concerns. It included $890 for the starter and $607 in labor just to replace the oil-pressure switch. The quote also used the same labor article number for two different repair operations and did not include Honda part numbers, trouble codes, test results, or a clear explanation of how they determined that all three components had failed. I did not authorize the work and decided to get the vehicle independently diagnosed by Honda, especially because I have an active extended warranty. I cannot comment on Firestone's actual repair quality because I declined the work, but based on the pricing and lack of supporting diagnostic detail, I would not use this location for a complex electrical or engine-related repair. I took my wife's 2016 Honda Pilot in to address squealing from the wheels when making hard turns and parking in reverse. This location recommended brakes & rotors. After the job was complete, the issue remained. I returned it and the job was claimed to be repeated. The issue returned. Honda Sport is now recommending the same. Thus, either the issue wasn't corrected the first time or no followup was performed. It's difficult for me to understand how this job was failed but it seriously has me not wishing to return my second car to this location. read more

I went to Firestone because the cap on my valve stem was on too tight I thought and I couldn't get it off to put air in my tire and I asked if they could take a quick look at it to see if they could loosen it or get it off, and the guy rudely said no, he couldn't even look at it for three hours, I said could you just take a quick look so I know if I need to make arrangements to get to work and leave my car here so I would at least know if the valve stem needs to be replaced and he told me no he wouldn't look at it for three hours and if I needed the valves stem replaced, I needed to leave it for the entire day.. I was the second person in the building when it opened... it's not like they were already super busy..He made sure I knew he didn't. GAF about my problem - You don't get a second chance to make a first impression..His name was Ryan. And I will never go back here because of his tone and demeanor. Any issues with my tires, Firestone in Fulton is my choice. Side note: a person came in asking if she could have someone help her with filling her tires with air while I was waiting. They enthusiastically said yes and told her to drive her car up to the door and they immediately helped. THAT is customer centric service and I'm sure it doesn't go unnoticed. read more

I am happy with my service. To be sure, most non-dealer retail shops will, on average, cost $20 or more on their prices. But, they were able to do my transmission flush and replacement, got my tps light to go off. Also, changed my cabin filter. The only thing that they and all retail service shops need to be better at is clearing the maintenance codes from your dashboard or touchscreens. read more

Nov 2024. Purchased an alignment agreement at the Fulton, MD (Maple Lawn) location. While checking out at 8am I was told I had a flat tire and they aired it up. Once I got home I ordered tires which were had minimal life left but not illegal. Can't answer why I was still going to do business with them. Former Master Tech here. At 1pm before leaving house I checked and the tire had 16psi, jacked up and found metal in tire. Returned to store to get flat repair and asked same service writer why they did not fix the flat. Response was tire was worn. There were no appointments for several days to plug the tire. Went to a business on Rt 1 which took the tire off and plugged in about 10 minutes. No response from store to my filling out an internal review and comments about my experience there. Tires installed at same Firestone the following Sat. Got home about 9:30 am and went to loosen lug nuts about 2pm so I could properly torque them. With a 2 ft 1/2" ratchet I could barely loosen the lug nuts on the r.f. The wheel lock key broke because the nuts were overtightened. New locks not available due to age of car so I ordered 4 new lugs at a cost of $65 including shipping. Checked tire pressure and 2 had 35psi, one 36psi, and another 45 psi. Pressure should be 32psi. These clowns cannot even do the simple stuff correctly. read more

I unfortunately (fortunately from a safety standpoint) needed new tires for my wife's SUV. I called and spoke to Rob. He was kind, helpful and respectful when I requested specific tires for the car. I made my appointment for the following week and went on my way. I dropped the car off the night before they closed and whomever I talked to was also very helpful, kind and respectful. Got an call my vehicle was done that morning. I went in and was told I could get on front brakes done. Rob explained, well more like dumbed it down without treating me like an idiot. Unnecessary Services Went there for an oil change. As usual you'll get a call, letting you know of the various recommendations for your car. In this particular call, I was told that my front brake pads needed to be replaced and with that they had to paint each rotor, rebuilt caliper with hardware for the front left and right, remove and replace my brake shoes and pads on both sides with their $60 standard discount off on the brakes. My total came up to $891.95. I declined the recommendation and went to the TOYOTA DEALER and according to the dealer I just needed to have my front brake pads replace. My total for that was $350.80. There was no mention of needing to paint my rotors. There was no mention of rebuilding a caliper with hardware. Therefore I would have paid them $541.41 extra for services that were absolutely unnecessary. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted. WOMEN BE WARE!!! read more

$160 (with a $30 off "discount") for an oil change that does NOT include a basic fluids check! My coolant was low when I brought it in. I noticed it was still low after I left. When I called to ask they explained that topping off fluids is not included in their $190 oil change and apparently their "free" inspection doesn't include the bare basics?!?. Not sure what, if anything, they "inspect".... 30 yrs of oil changes - Firestone = oil change rip off and waste of time as they will likely miss / ignore basic checks and cause you to service again or take care of it yourself. read more

Dropped car off at Firestone to install new wheels. 3 hours later, they call us saying they couldn't do it because they don't have the machine for our new wheel size (why didn't they know this earlier? Their warehouse sent them the wheels I ordered) Went to go pick up the car, drove back home (1mi) and saw wheels had damage. Went back and told them. I ran over a bolt that punctured my tire, went back home called around for new tires, as I had planned to get some at the start of the year. The only people that had tires AND would install the same day was Firestone. I brought the car in, they looked at my tires, and agreed I didn't need new tires just yet, they agreed to just plug the tire, and had it done by the end of the day. It was done. People expect too much from very busy auto repair shops. Be patient, give them time, not a hard time, to fix your problems. I will go there again for new tires when needed and other smaller items. I have had bad experiences with Capital Cadillac, they went out of business - no surprise. Be wary of BuickGM AutoNation in Laurel MD also, very bad QA on their repairs. read more

Blew out a tire over in Laurel the other day. Took the car straight to Firestone, selected a replacement tire and left the car with them. 4 hours later I go to pick it up and the bill is $210 (with a "$40 discount" the crewman was KIND enough to arrange for me). Paid for the tire, took the car back home and looked over the receipt. The tire (A Firestone Weathergrip, avg. retail price $120) wound up costing $170, not including service charges or the generous discount I mentioned. These guys are hustlers, plain & simple. I heard a funky noise and even though Firestone had no room in their schedule, Rob looked up notes from a prior conversation, took new notes, and went to see if a master mechanic could listen to the car. This place is a welcome addition to the Maple Lawn area. I'm always weary of taking my car to just any place for the usual maintenance. In this case, I needed my 30k miles checkup. I'd gone to a Firestone Center before, so I knew about the service, but the fact that this one is so close makes it my new auto center of choice. I made an appointment to bring the car in and told them that I would be sticking around for it. They have a nice little seating area where you can wait for your car to be completed. I wish they offered wifi though, so you could actually get stuff done while you wait. I liked that they didn't try to upsell me on things I needed. In fact, they didn't try to add on anything more than what I asked them to do and to fix. I'll be going back to this place for my motor needs. FYI, go to Harris Teeter next door and buy something. On the back of the receipt, they have coupons for tire rotations and oil changes at Firestone. Just a tip. read more

This place is a ripoff. Just moved to the area and had my wife's Acura MDX serviced there for a synthetic Oil change, filter, and tire rotation. Charged around $70. Thought that was reasonable. Brought my BMW 328xi in a week later for the same service and they charged me $136. Gave me some nonsense about a "specialty filter" that they charged $45.99 for. It is a $9.00 filter anywhere else. Also said my car takes 7 quarts of oil (it doesn't, it tops off between 6- 6.5 when I change the oil) so they charged me an additional $26 for extra oil. All in, to replace an oil cap / filter housing ($19 regularly - charged me $85), flush my radiator fluid and do an oil change cost me over $400. Won't ever be bringing either of my cars back here again. read more

I made an appointment for 9am. I dropped the car off and at 130pm they still had not pulled it into a bay. At 2pm they said it was done and come get it. I got it and drove home and could not find the wheel lock. I called them and they said oh its here come get it. So I had to drive back and get it. They just said oh here it is. They were not apologetic at all. Will not be bringing my cars back here. Also tried to upsell me a 164 dollar battery change the last time I bought a battery here it died in 6 months. Every time I bring a car there something happens and I have to make another trip back. Seems like they keep missing the details. Like not closing the engine air filter properly and the car makes a weird sound and have to go back. Or not reinstalling the spare tire. They really need to get there act together. once I took a car with a flat tire there and they said they were closing soon and could not help and turned me away. I went to firestone Columbia and they stayed open till like 9pm to put new tires on. That's great service. read more

Don't go there. They do not have the staff to get you in and out in a timely manner. We took our car in on Friday morning, and we were promised the car back at the close of business. A couple of hours go by and the tech calls me to tell me that he does not have a tech who could do the job today, but he will have the tech on Monday. Monday rolls around and they don't even start on the car until lunchtime, then the tech tells me he can't promise to have my car finished by the end of the day. This was to be a normal rear brake job. We picked up the car and told them we are never coming back. The manager is blaming everything on being understaffed. read more

My tire needed to be replaced right away as I live no where near here. The service tech was amazingly sympathetic to my needs. I barged in on them for one tire replacement so I could get back on the road. The tech showed me the choices, he could have just sold me the more expensive tire. And then assured me he'd get it done in 90 minutes or less. Seemed reasonable enough and considering the spare was new; I still didn't want to drive around searching for another tire shop and wait could be even longer. I walked to grocery store next door, grabbed a sandwich and did a few minutes of work. Tech call was about 30 minutes later. Wow! They even checked the car's fluids and other tires. I will never take my car here again. I had dropped my car off for regular maintenance, an oil change and tire rotation. I was walking out and saw one of their techs abusing a customer's vehicle. The tech was backing out of a parking space, squealed the tires in reverse, then squealed the tires again pulling the vehicle up to the service bay. It was a mini van and it was obvious the guy was stomping the accelerator like a complete idiot. I went back in, told the manager what I just saw and took my keys back. I brought my car in within five minutes after calling them to see if they had time to replace the front left light bulb. It took an hour and a ​half which wasn't that bad since I was shopping around at the food store. I was surprised that it cost​ $30 ( $15 for the bulb and $15 for labor which was a shocker for me to see ). I had requested for the new wipers and they charged only $6 for labor for the wiper replacement. How strange ???? Two days later, the right light bulb blew out. I wasn't thrilled about it. I later learned that it is best for both light bulbs to be replaced at the same time. I haven't had any problem with the lights since purchasing the car four years ago so I guess it was time. I don't understand WHY they didn't check with me to be sure if I wanted the other bulb replaced. I was so overwhelmed that day with other things and my dad's health issues. Duh... I read reviews on​ a homepage on​​ Facebook that other places charge only $4 for replacing a ​light bulb. I was really disappointed that I did not research​ carefully before going to Firestone last week. I called them recently and asked them WHY they didn't have the courtesy to ask me for the other light bulb to be replaced. It would have saved​ me the TIME !!!! Well, they said oh they will still charge $30 for each light bulb if I had requested for that last week. Really?? I said thanks, but NO THANKS!! The staff is very nice and helpful. I am a woman so I am always suspect of auto shops. I have been taken advantage of at other establishments. I always found it funny how I would be quoted a price and repair and then when my husband would call, things changed. I have never experienced this at the Firestone in Maple Lawn. We take our cars there because of the staff's customer service and honesty. Last week we had an issue with my tire that we bought there a year ago. The part that needed to be fixed was not covered under the warranty. My husband thought it was. After speaking to Ryan the manager, Ryan politely explained what the issue was and took care of the problem for free. Today was my second trip to this facility. My first visit was approx. 14 days ago when I really needed new tires. Prior to my visit I called to obtain pricing and Ryan was nothing but professional and extremely helpful. I took my car in one morning at 7, prior to going to work and was out the door by 815! During my visit I was gvn an analysis of other work that was needed in the future which was very helpful. Well today, after returning from Georgia (rental car used) my car would not start! I thought it was because my car has been sitting for 4 days but then...... I thought back to my trip to Firestone and the battery analysis I was gvn. Darn it, I should have had the battery replaced when I had the tires done. I called Firestone, spoke with Ryan told him my problem, I was told that I could come in but they had no appts, but they would try and work me in between the bigger jobs they had. This place is HORRIBLE, never ever go there again. I came here because I saw nails in my tire, I know it's fixable, so I brought the car in and went to Harris Teeter to do some browsing during the wait. The manager called me 30 minutes later back to the shop. He told me that they can't fix the nails in the tire, because it was on the side so they can't pluck the nails out, in the mean time they also checked my front tires, told me that those are too bald to drive around. So he quoted me all FOUR brand new tires, also for some odd reason, he told me that I needed new battery for my car as well. I went in for a $20 flat tire repair job, he not only told me that it wasn't fixable, but also tried to up sell me 4 brand new tires, 1 new battery, the battery corrosion package, the tire maintenance package, total with the quote, $1200. Wow.. that's some service. I left the place without doing anything, I went to another mechanic the next day, they pulled out the nails in my tire, and found out that the nails didn't even puncture my tire, so there's no patch job needed. Quality care and customer service are not priorities in this shop. I recommend against using this business. I took my truck there in summer 2013 for 4 new tires. This week I noticed unusual black residue on the front left wheel. After removing the hubcap, I saw that one lug nut was totally missing. So I removed hubcaps for the other wheels, and although there were no other missing lug nuts, I found two of them were loose. [Remember that this is a shop whose main business is tires]. When I called the shop to report this problem and schedule it to be fixed, they said it's first-come first-serve and would not schedule me for a specific appointment time. I decided to fix the problem myself and never visit the business again. You can judge for yourself if you believe this shop hires quality mechanics and honestly cares about its customers.
