I had chicken skewers and they were good but they needed a dipping sauce. I also had the chicken dumpling soup and the soup was a bit too greasy, it tasted like beef broth and the chicken had lots of nerve endings, not my favorite. It was ok. There are some FOB ass Chinese people in this joint and that's a dead giveaway of how authentic and delicious this place is. Now y'all might not know Asians but when we eat, we get down. This place is definitely for a group of people and I def recommend eating family style. Unfortunately, in this bland ass town, I only have my white boyfriend and close minded white friends who aint down to have their mouths explode with flavor... so I'm limited to getting two dishes at a time here. I've ordered to go here and also sat down inside for dinner a couple of times. Here's my recommendations based on how much yellow fever you got- High yellow fever: u a pro. U fux with only azns or u azn urself, u order their mala dry hot pot or mala spicy noodle soup dish. For both, it comes with ALL the veggies ( and wood ear! It's my fave) and u pick the meats. Absolutely delicious! The portion is HUGEE. I could only eat a quarter of my dish but I saw my OG fob friend across the room put down the whole thing. The only this is that I wish the mala spicy noodle soup came with ho fan but I never mind a bit of ramen. Also get the mapo tofu and the Szechuan boiled fish or beef. It adds some spice in your life and it's phenomenally bursting with flavor and Szechuan chilli peppers. Medium yellow fever: sometimes u fux the azn girls but u like them white girls too but u open to trying a few new things. Try the casserole dishes. They're flavorful but they don't have the interesting things that when u ask ur azn friends what that is, their only response is "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ , just eat it." It's served in a clay pot and u get rice with it and you dump the contents on top. It's salty and not spicy. It's typically brewed for a while which is why it's so flavorful. Def go for the beef and then work your wait up to braised fish. The fish has bones in it. Also try the zha jiang mien. It's traditionally a Taiwanese dish, but this place makes it almost as good as my mom. Its description doesn't make it sound good "black bean paste" but trusttt mee you'll love it! Mild yellow fever: your idea of Chinese is Chinese take out. -______- literally my face. But since u adventurous enuff to get Chinese takeout, u adventurous enough to try their entrees and ho fun. Ho fun is a thick flat noodle and it's a bit of an oily dish but it's flavorful but not tooo flavorful so y'all don't have to sit on the shitter. Some entrees you could also handle are the basil chicken, beef short rib with black pepper sauce, spicy diced chicken. No yellow fever: you not down. You not cool. You prefer wawa. Get the dumplings. They are sooo good and home made, even doe you probably prefer the microwaveable kind cuz u a basic fukboi. Despite how you look at the menu and see some basic shit that u think you like, don't get the grill and BBQ, the Asians don't do that shit well. Just stick with their fried rice and noodle soups. Very bland but good staple, but u probably better off just getting Chinese takeout. My bf always complains that his stomach doesnt feel that great after this place, but he's got a weak whiteass stomach, can't handle some hot peppers thru the system. I eat here and I feel perfectly fine. I been trained. The food is clean it's just spicy. Also, everyone needs to try the bubble tea. Wow wow wow wow wow. Fantastic Chinese restaurant. People from San Diego love to drop that as the reason why they have the most discerning palate for Mexican food. Well folks, I just moved from San Francisco, and I can say that U & Tea is as good or better than most of the restaurants in Chinatown. We came here for lunch on the 4th of July partly because nothing else was open and immediately noticed that the menu is primarily written for a Chinese audience. There are English translations, but there is more Chinese on the page-- which is always a good sign. We ordered egg fried rice, basil shrimp, green vegetable (spinach), and the eggplant and tofu casserole. Everything was amazing. The fried rice was some of the best I've had in my life-- lightly fried and not too salty. The basil shrimp was so savory, with just a little heat. The spinach was garlicky but not in a sharp way, and the eggplant with tofu was my favorite. The tofu was perfectly fried, the eggplant was soft and smoky, and the sauce covering both was sweet but not sugary, savory, and complex. Absolutely fantastic. We cannot wait to eat the leftovers! 3-1/2* Foods are decent and the waitress is attentive and cheerful but the problem I have with this restaurant is that the price of each dish is marked up $1 to $2 more than the prices on menu when I receive the bill. We dined at this restaurant twice and both times they charged us more than the menu prices. I asked the young man at the cash register, he said there is a price increase for all dishes but they didn't have time to change the prices on the menu. The Lehigh Valley has been lacking good Chinese Restaurants for a while now and thankfully U & Tea has changed that. My wife and I just ate there for the first time and we were very happy with everything we ordered. Because we're true foodies, we like to sample different things on the menu. Tonight we had a grilled mushroom skewer, squid skewer and shrimp dumpling soup to start things off. All were excellent. For dinner my wife had Chicken with Oyster Mushrooms and I had the Crispy Fish with Hot Pepper sauce. I was a little worried when there was no soy sauce on the table but the food was seasoned perfectly and didn't need a thing. Both of us agreed this was best Chinese food we've had in a long, long time. I differentiate this place from Jenny's and One-Third because those are Asian Fusion restaurants and this place is straight up Chinese. As we ate our meal we noticed a couple of other tables with Asian patrons so you know what that means... It's great, authentic Asian food. Another outstanding Chinese restaurant in the Bethlehem area. There are many different types of Chinese Cuisine and this was definitely authentic. So happy to walk in and be surrounded by other 20-30 something year old Asians. Pros: Clean, well run establishment. Most Chinese restaurants that serve good food have almost nonexistent service so the fact that they gave some level of service was pretty good considering their quality of food and cost. The Beef Ho Fun was amazing, 10/10! Would definitely order again. The Sweet and sour pork: 8/10. It was good, but a bit too battered and could be crispier. The Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup: 10/10 for shrimp wontons, 7/10 for the noodle and soup. I would get the shrimp wontons by itself next time. Garlic Tong Sing Cai: 10/10. They cooked this in sesame oil which really brought out a rich taste. My bf gave it a 8/10 since he didn't like that it was cooked in so much sesame oil. Cons: They added a pinch too much salt on all their dishes, but I lived with grandparents who put minimal salt in food, so it might just be the right amount for most people. For some unknown reason, the vegetable section is their secret menu. My bf and I speak Chinese so we were able to order vegetables (they had Chinese Broccoli, Tong Sing Cai, Bok Choy, among others). However, this is very confusing to customers who cannot read or speak Chinese. read more

This is a decent Chinese place. The menu is extensive and it can be hard to tell what to order but we enjoyed all that we have ordered. The potstickers were tasty and the crispy spicy fish was nice though not spicy. The eggplant and tofu in brown sauce is delicious. Be warned: portion sizes are generous. I was really excited to try this place out after hearing rave reviews but I was not impressed. The service was awkward and slow. One guy just stood there and stared at our table from across the room but seldom came to refill water or ask how we were doing. There were small children being taken in and out of the kitchen which made me question how sanitary the operation was. The food was okay. The clay pot rice had some rice that was rather hard/burnt rather than crispy. Nothing was memorable aside from that the tap water tasted like dirt so I ordered bubble tea and then became confused as to how people enjoy drinking it. This is probably the best authentic Chinese restaurant in Lehigh Valley. I've only tried their soups so far as I've been sick with a cold the last couple of weeks. The first soup I tried was their beef based noodle soup- great flavor and the meat was incredibly tender. Good ratio of soup to noodle. The second soup I tried was the shrimp wonton soup- the wontons were delicious, but the broth was a tad on the saltier side. I also felt that the ratio of soup to noodles was slightly off- you can tell from the photo that there's too much soup and not enough noodle. The noodles were in one big clump in the soup, which made it a little cumbersome to eat. Also, they have bubble tea (boba) here and it's definitely the best that I've tried in the LV. All in all, I love this place and will return to try more of their menu. read more

[/RANT] Moving on... U & Tea offers excellent and astonishingly authentic Chinese in an affordable setting. I was completely blindsided to find it in Bethlehem rather than Philly or NYC. Their dishes are mostly from provinces in Central China, namely Sichuan and Hubei, which trend spicy, so if you have a problem with heat make sure to tell your server. We came with my aunt and uncle, who have been hooked on Chinese food ever since visiting me there the better part of a decade ago. My wife, who is Chinese, took charge of navigating the menu and ordered stewed beef tenderloin, dry hotpot, and stir-fried sweet potato noodles (looks like rice noodles). All were excellent, better than anything we've had since leaving China last year. We look forward to coming back, frequently. read more
