I am so incredibly surprised about all the negative reviews for this hotel. We stayed here for a weekend and everything was really great, from the location and proximity to Tyson's Corner Malls and major freeways, to the fact that parking was easy and free. The gym was sparkling clean and had such a range of cardio and weight equipment and everything was brand new. The pool is upstairs and indoors, which is really cool. The front desk staff was friendly and quite helpful. I don't know what everyone else was complaining about. We had a great stay and will definitely be back next time we are in town. read more

Besides the terrible treatment that we got from Bonvoy's sloppy booking and misleading information, the hotel had no mechanism for accommodating such mistreatment. In addition Bonvoy related inaccurate info about the Marriott and the Marriott had no means of communicating with Bonvoy in order to correct. The room, 1201, on the concierge level, was decorated in the late 90s and still as is. The windows were disgusting with some vomit like stains. The fridge made a constant 3 KHz tone that we had to endure throughout the night. That's equivalent to continuous brakes screeching at a quiet level throughout the night. We went to dinner at a close by restaurant and upon our return police vehicles were blocking the front parking lot entrance while stopping a group fight and arresting some of the "guests". People where screaming in the hallway at 3:00 AM then at 3:40 AM. Because of all the mistakes and the hotels inability to resolve, I now have 3 charges on my credit card, waiting on 2 to be refunded. This was in reference to our stay for one night! 31st of August 2019 into 1st of September. Again room 1201 read more

I stayed here couple nights few weeks ago, my experience was... meh. I picked the two-bed room just because I knew my friend was going to spend at least one night with me after a weekend night out. My room was on the 10th floor, end room. I was overjoyed at first since I would only have 1 neighboring room... Boy, was I wrong. It's right next to the stairs, which I think the custodial staff uses to get around. Every 20-30minutes, the stairs door would open and slam close. And I could hear it throughout the whole night. It was unpleasant while trying to sleep and get some rest. Other than that, all the staff I've encoutered were very polite and nice. Room was a good size for two people, with a nice size tv. View from the room was also beautiful. At least now I know I will need to request a room far away from the stairs. =) read more

I stayed here 3 nights and 4 days. The sheets and the room smelled like, I think, cigarettes even though it seemed like they tried really hard to get the smell out. The underground parking garage connects right to the hotel which was convenient. It is right next to a street - a little hard to find when you're driving. But overall the hotel lobby was clean. read more

I liked this hotel and it probably deserves more than 3 stars. However the weekend we were there they appeared way understaffed so I have to resort to A 3 star. Rooms were excellent. Great room on 3rd floor overlooking center pool (a hidden gem of area you wouldn't know about from outside) The bellman / shuttle driver. Was great guy but struggling doing both jobs and this poor service when came to needing bell service at checkin. Or needing shuttle. Hard to do both. The restaurant manager Joseph was terrific and helped alleviate some of the issues when it came to service. He took care of some service issues we had there and I have to say the food was probably some of the best hotel restaurant food I have had in some time. I would come to restaurant here on its own. We had a suite which was a little strange in some utilization. It had a giant dining room in the suite ..but the bathroom was a crackerbox. Not good use of space. Overall I will return because of the great location and overall quality of the hotel. They just need more staff. Except housekeeping - she would knock on door at 9am to clean. So must have had plenty of them. read more

Not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review. I've been here about 10 times already. Also, I can't believe it averages at 2 1/2 stars. Let's do the hotel list Location: Due to construction is kind of sucks right now in the sense that it is a little harder to get to than usual. However, if you want to be near shopping or most of the businesses in Tyson's it's super close and centrally located. Taking back roads, I've walked to Tysons Mall (about 10 mins). The hotel also offers a shuttle to nearby locations. Parking - huge free lot - Never a problem. Staff - Always great. It can get a bit busy at the front desk at times, but if you are just checking in or out, there is an automated system. I've used it a couple times with no issues. Rooms - Standard Marriott style. They are a little smaller than some other Marriott hotels, but are by no means cramped. Conversely, the bathrooms are a larger than what I usually see. Food - There is a Shula's on the ground floor so every meal is AMAZING! I go there even when I am not at the hotel for a great steak. However, it is pricey. But with the mall so close, your options are many. There is also a sports bar I have only been to once about 3 years ago. Finally, room service is always good and fast. Fitness - Average to above average. The pool is really nice. Extras - Laundry room - something I don't usually see in a Marriott or hotel of this star level (3 1/2 according to Priceline). Kind of nice. Robes - I love a hotel robe. Not really sure why. Price - Weekend rates are usually the best around. So many times I've gotten $79/89 per night on the weekend. Aobut 15 - 30% lower than other comparable places. I really like this hotel and others may disagree, but I don't care. That means every time I need a room, I will get one. :-) read more

Tysons corner Marriott is centrally located in the Tysons area sandwiched in between 495 and Tysons Mall. The hotel is showing its age a bit but the staff is friendly and helpful, Nice Bar area that also serves food if you don't feel like going to one the many restaurants in the area. Stayed here for a business trip with several of my colleagues. Lobby is nice and wifi is free. Meeting rooms are freezing - bring a sweater. The restaurant is painfully slow and while the food was decent it was impossible to get the attention of the staff. We waited over 30 minutes for our meals in a very empty restaurant. Rooms are decent and clean - your typical Marriott. read more

They got MICE... lol I'm sitting in the lobby and just saw a Mice ... other than that beautiful hotel lol

This hotel is centrally located in Tyson's Corner next door to the mall. They have a shuttle that will take you 2 miles from the hotel to any location. They do a nice job for meetings. I have enjoyed a few meals in the restaurant/bar. Plenty of parking. Lives up to the Marriott quality, we expect in a hotel. Quick check in, nice rooms with all the amenities. My only complaint is that they need to upgrade the gym equipment a bit and make sure the cable on the TVs is working. I'm always satisfied with my stays at this Marriott. read more

Pretty disappointed. The lobBy is above average and the staff was nice. Location is good if you're in Tyson's. The rooms are super small and dated. Amenities are sparse. If you have lounge access be prepared to be disappointed. American Marriot lounges are bad compared to overseas but this one is really lacking. The positive is the gym is far better than most. read more

5 Stars from the service, cleanliness, room and the smell! Loved the smell the moment we walked in. Yes, start cleaning your nose because this hotel smells nice! We got a good deal on this one. We arrived after dinner. The front desk staff was waiting patiently for us, did she? Seemed like she already knew who's coming. While checking in, I started looking around to check the restaurant, lobby, and raffles! I played the raffle game and the winner would receive a doll from American Girl Doll. Perfect! So we got to the room and almost time to sleep. It was a beautiful room indeed. This hotel looks like it just went thru a renovation or simply a new hotel. Doesn't matter as long as we like it. Everything is clean in the room and bathroom. Great soft towels, great brand for bathroom product (Thann), nice hairdryer, comfortable bed, soft pillows, great leg-rest couch and some view of Tyson Corner. The hotel has a complete package of the full gym, big with many great equipment, adjacent to the indoor pool. I believe they got everything covered. read more

This property is run down, and doesn't appear to have been updated in decades. Bar/restaurant area is similar to Howard Johnson's in the 50's. No atmosphere. Service overall was moderately polite, and no more. like a lower tier Marriott affiliate. Tried twice to see "a manager." told the first time he was "on break." No apologies, etc. Second time, was told he "wasn't in yet." Property is also very hard to get to in the complicated Tysons Corner area, with much congestion. Too many other much better properties in the Tysons area to pay this high of a rate. read more

All ye who book, Cancel now!! When i first pulled up, i found i had to pay for parking... 6 dollars a night. Checking was awful, the man was very rude maybe he assumed i was a kid because of my young appearance. but a customer is a customer!! Upon entering the room i found it to be very small, and didn't have many drawers to put clothing into. Internet costs 12 dollars, i believe 2-3 dollars more then the Westin down the road. Their "Starbucks" is a Marriott shop with a coffee maker that serves Starbucks brand coffee (Total Crap). Thanks for deceiving me, my morning without a Iced Caramel Macchiato when its 95 degrees out was HELL. Did i also forget to mention that after i checked in the gates to the parking lot were always open and no one else had to pay for parking... Thanks for ripping me off sirs. that 12 dollars i spent for 2 nights could of paid for my internet.. Finally The day of check out i get my bill of services... T_T They charged me for 2 nights of internet which i did not even use or agree to, and for parking. The girl checking me out simply gave me an attitude and said "Well ti says you agree'd to the terms. and after she finally took it off reluctantly gave me a stare and said "you're done" in a rude tone of voice. NEVER AGAIN, ill take my money to Westin where I'm treated like a true customer. SIDENOTE: At least the room was clean... (reason for 2 stars) read more

Really enjoyed my stay. Aynur Mansur provided us exceptional customer service. She was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Rooms are homey, on the small side.. bathroom is tiny, sheets and pillows were OK, the hallway design was gaudy and tacky. The concierge here were short tempered and on the rude side. And parking isn't free. $6 a night.. Wait, what? I personally think this place isn't worth the money. I suggest going to the Westin instead, where you won't get an attitude. And there are bathrobes there :) read more

I consider myself a loyal Marriott customers. I usually prefer Marriott hotels over their other brands. This Marriott is in a great location. Very convenient to the Tysons Corner Center mall and a reasonable (10 minute) walk to the Metro station. It is convenient to many Tysons Corner and Vienna businesses and easy to get in to from I-495 and from I-66. The restaurant downstairs is good and the staff are super helpful and friendly. They have a large indoor pool, a decent sized gym, and hot tub. For you Marriott Elite's, the lounge on the 15th floor is nice and has a great view (though a bit crowded at rush hour.) But.... ya'll knew there was a "but" since this was a 3-star review. The hotel is a bit worn around the edges and probably needs a full refresh. My room was a bit awkwardly laid out, though comfortable. The door to the room had a weird 1/2 gap at the top through which you could peak out in to the hall if you were so inclined (and very tall.) My room was on the 2nd floor and it is a bit noisy on this floor. Ask for a higher floor if you stay here. Also, the bathroom, weirdly enough, had no exhaust fan. So, not much hope of quickly restoring a Class M environment to the bathroom after using it. On the whole, though, this is a good Marriott and I would stay here again. read more

I've stayed at Marriott hotels extensively in my past life. Recently I've taken a job that requires travel, and I instinctively chose to stay at a Marriott and continue my allegiance. My dad worked for Marriott for over 25 years, and as a family we always had a sense of loyalty to the brand. This particular Marriott is unimpressive from the street. The lobby has been renovated and appears more modern. The front desk staff was unkept and unprofessional. One of the two staff members was on her personal phone throughout the check-in process. What disappointed me about this stay was the overwhelming smell of smoke in the rooms. In both room 417 and 911, the smell was overwhelming. In the 100+ stays I've had, I've never experienced this. The response I received from the manager was underwhelming (they are non-smoking rooms, but people smoke in them). What? I will not stay at this Marriott again. It's not deserving of the acknowledgement I've always felt the brand deserves. read more

We stayed here while visiting DC. I couldn't give it more than 3 stars, but first, what we did like. The shuttle to the mall and metro was great! You could even walk back to the hotel, which is nice after a big meal :) The room was clean and the bathroom was nice sized! Loved the brand of toiletries they provided. What made me not give it 4 stars. Internet was not free. $15 a day. In this day and age that completely ridiculous! The pool was only open from 5-9pm. I had some extremely disappointed kids, I was not pleased. For those two reasons, we won't stay there again. read more

I'm staying at the hotel as I write this review and can't wait to leave. I checked in a few hours ago and here's what I've seen so far: M Club (executive lounge) is off the lobby behind the bar. Since it was around dinner time when I checked in I headed off to the M Club for a quick snack. Forget snacks; what they put out resembled more slop than food. Disgusting cheese plate and some dried-up pieces of quesadillas. I started to put some stuff on a plate and just gave up and threw the entire plate in the garbage. Shame on you, Marriott for treating your guests this way. Still hungry I went to the so-called restaurant which is in the bar area meaning the restaurant is loudly blasting stupid dance music making conversation impossible. Very limited menu and the food that I ordered sucks. I hate this hotel so far and I have another two days here. I'm never coming back to this dumpster fire of a hotel. read more

This was our first time at this hotel. To start off with, who ever is in charge of the hiring and training of Marriott employees needs to be in charge of the country. Each person we interacted with was friendlier than the last. Probably the nicest overall employees I have ever met. Everything was very clean, the food we had from the restaurant was quite good, and it was a nice experience. Unfortunately the room just did not work for us. We booked the biggest suite I could find. It had a bedroom with a king bed and a pull out sofa. We need three beds so I made sure we could get a roll away, even calling after I made the reservations to be sure. I assumed (never assume) there would be one in the room at check in. There wasn't so we called for one. What followed was a long back and forth with EXTREMELY nice people. Either they don't have roll aways, were out of them, or we weren't allowed one. The outcome is we never got one and we paid a lot of money for a room that did not work for us. Also, this is the first time I have stayed in a large suite that did not have a microwave. Again it is a very nice place, but I felt a bit put off with the situation. read more

I didn't pick this hotel. I am a Marriott Platinum Elite, so I am plenty loyal, but this hotel falls short in nearly every aspect of hospitality. I had a confirmed reservation at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson's Corner, that was not honored, because the hotel said they had a construction problem that knocked out fifty of their rooms. . The only room that the Ritz could get me in the entire DC metro area was at this Tyson's Marriott. I arrived about 6 pm and was like 8th in line to check in. There were only two clerks at the desk and no bell help in the lobby. Strike one. I got up to my room, and found that only one of the outlets on the desk worked. Strike two. Went up to the Concierge Lounge and found only a single pan of some sort of rice and chicken, salad bowl was empty and the concierge was no where to be found. It was close to 7:30 so I will give them a pass. Grabbed a bottle of water and left. Ball one. Decided I wanted to go out to dinner and took my room key to get out of the garage, only to find out that it wasn't programmed when I checked in, even though I had given the desk clerk my parking ticket and told him I had a car. That's strike three. So last night, I had worked late and wanted a salad brought to my room about 9 pm. . I tried calling the "At Your Service" number three times letting it ring ten or more times. It was never answered. Finally I got out my cell phone and called the hotel and told them I was in house and wanted room service. The operator said "I'm the only one here answering the phones" and that's why I didn't answer earlier. I am beginning to see a pattern of short staffing here. Finally, the last straw. I forgot my iPad cord when I left my office and the device ran out of juice. Now that is my fault, but when I called down to the 'At your Service number to ask if I could borrow a cord from their lost and found I was told that the hotel has no chargers or cords in the back of the house and I could go to the mall and buy one. I usually don't fire up a review like this, but I have had it. My room is charged at well over $225 a night and this is well below average for a Marriott property. I will be pinging the GM at this hotel tomorrow, and I will never stay at this property again. read more

I should've opted for the Courtyard Marriott, which was a little bit cheaper and just a half mile away. Amidst the current relevance of social networking, if a hotel of this caliber still charges $12.95 for internet, I will log onto yelp and write a one-star review to relieve my distress of agreeing to get ripped off. Hey, it's my dime. Marriott, you suck for capitalizing on our flushed needs. This anger tainted my senses and even the slightest incongruity like how there's no mini-fridge in my room to keep my water cold and refreshing come morning, only makes the star rating decrease even faster. Instead i had to walk to the ice machine that spewed out slivers of half frozen ice doing very little to keep my water cold til morning. So there you have it, my last Marriott experience. At least in Tyson's Corner, VA anyway. read more

This location is convenient for business travel and superior to other three star hotel options nearby. We've stayed here the night of my company's Christmas party 2 years in a row. It's located right off the west side of 495 on Leesburg Pike. Like most things in Tysons, It's a bit difficult to get to at the busier times of the day. The outside is really nothing to look at, but the lobby and Shutters bar area are lovely. The desk is always quick to check us in, and its off to the garage. Though they have 2 parking lots that can only be accessed and exited w/ a valid room key, we always choose the actual garage. After you check out, you'll still need your room key to get your car out. But there is a drop box for it at the gate. The lobby area, elevators, and hallways always appear clean and new. The same can be said for both the rooms we've had here. Their beds are some of the most comfortable we've had. The only negative thing I would have to say about this location would be about their food. The food we've had at our parties (prime rib, chicken, & swordfish) has been good, but their breakfast pales in comparison. As long as my company continues to book our yearly party here, we'll continue to stay here. read more

Stayed there once because I had a conference in the area and found a roach in my room. Against my better judgement I decided to give the hotel another chance and stayed there a second time. This time there were bed bugs in the room. I took photos and videos of the bed bugs and showed them to the front desk. They moved me to a different room but that room had a pissy mattress. This hotel needs a major renovation and exterminator ASAP. Old pissy mattresses should be thrown out and replaced. It is not sanitary at all. I will never stay at this nasty DUMP again! read more

Probably the most overestimated hotel I've been in. Its hype was nothing but that, as it didn't meet the expectations. The room itself was okay, same as any other average hotel really. The fact that wifi wasn't free was just the beginning. Charging $12,95 a day for wifi is something that doesn't really make much sense nowadays - especially if the rooms are as expensive as any other decent hotel WITH free wifi. When I called the front desk with a few questions, the lady wasn't able to help at all - she dismissed me pretty rudely with no intentions of answering my questions. Breakfast was also not included and it was roughly $20 per person for a regular buffet breakfast that again, any other hotel would have had for no extra cost. Very busy hotel though, mostly because of its convenience to the airport, as proven by the dozens of flight attendants in the lobby at any given time. Also, location wise, wasn't so bad. Lots of places to see and eat at walking distance, even though you'd have to cross an extremely busy street.. Safety first! Altogether, not a very pleasant experience. read more

Stayed here this week for work and had a very positive experience! Clean hotel, well kept. Gym area had about 3 of every cardio machine. Concierge lounge on the 15th floor was well stocked and had a nice view. The staff were extremely accommodating - they kept a professional poker face even for some other difficult guests. There's a bar on the first floor with a very good looking happy hour, but could t make it because I had dinner plans elsewhere. Room - nice and clean, to be expected. Nothing above average but considering this wasn't a renaissance or something was perfect. Gym - about 3 of each cardio machine, considering the proximity to local corp. businesses gets pretty crowded in the AM. Location - Tysons corner is a lovely suburb from DC. Hotel is walking distance from the metro. Some complained about the shuttle that takes you around Tysons as taking a long time but I didn't use it. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants (mostly chains) walking distance / super close by. Staff - fantastic! One of the few hotels I've been to where they actually had enough staff behind the counter. Staff were eager to help me navigate the area. Boom for this Marriot! Would come back! read more

The room was nice and the bed was so super-comfy. The bathroom was very clean. We ordered light fare from the room service menu and the food was delivered fast and hot. When we called down for missing silverware, it arrived in just a few minutes. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet before checking out. Pretty decent - made-to-order omelette's, bacon, two kinds of sausage (pork and chicken/apple), scrambled eggs with bell peppers (and they were real eggs, not the powdered crap), biscuits, oven-roasted potatoes, sausage gravy, oatmeal, various breads and pastries, cereal choices and lots of fresh fruit. I think I prefer this location over the Courtyard around the corner. read more

Not what you would expect for a hotel well over $200 a night. Small rooms, no clothing storage chests or dressers, no microwave in room, parking is $6/day, Internet is $12/day for slow service like normal hotel WiFi which bogs down during heavy hours or $15/day for faster Internet which want any different than the cheaper one, and there is no breakfast or cocktail hour included. I'd recommend either Courtyard which includes breakfast, WiFi, and parking at a cheaper rate with the same quality but larger rooms or Embassy Suites which is better all around and cheaper with free cocktail hour every night. Housekeeping staff was friendly and the bar in the lobby had good food with expensive drinks. $6 cheap beers and the charge a premium for anything not cheap beer. Starbucks Coffee available too. Quick walk to the mall or many restaurants nearby too. read more

I have stayed here several times over the last 3 years. For a DC business trip this is a very good location to get to most anywhere with a decent commute. The hotel is has a restaurant and bar which can make things easy if you don't want to go out. The lobby is also very nice and the gym is small but has nice equipment. They charge for parking by the day but that is kinda the norm in the DC area. They do have a Concierge lounge for status members and those willing to pay extra. As a platinum member I get in free but if not for that I wouldn't pay for it. The lounge has light snacks and one dessert in the evening. They have breakfast in the morning but it is pretty boring if there more than a couple of days. The rooms are nice and still in good shape. They have't upgraded to the new Marriott concept yet which I expect will happen soon. The best part about this location is the proximity of the TC Mall and all the great food choices nearby. Well worth staying at if on business or a pleasure stay in the DC area. read more

I have always enjoyed the Tysons Corner Marriott. I've booked countless meetings for my clients at that facilityOver the years. The service is always outstanding great place to meet eat etc. I called ask how much it was to park to come in and do some work have some lunch and they told me it was $17. Even being a Marriott rewards member what is of no consequence. Checking out today from a quick weekend getaway at this property. Great last minute rate due to low occupancy that was available for same day advanced purchase. It was only $66 a night plus taxes. I've seen others say their stay was north of $200. I would not value the property at that price point (the rooms are small). The hotel smell is true. They definitely pay for some professional brand scent. As we sat and waited for the complementary hotel shuttle (goes in a 2 mile radius to the many shops and eateries in TC) the scent became almost overwhelming. Check-in experience was great. Platinum Elite here and was offered a 15th floor concierge room (still tiny) over mobile check-in. Lounge was closed so was offered breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was your standard affair, but high quality. Service was truly amazing and in line with a week long stay I had in Thailand that hasn't been matched by Marriott's in the US. Parking fee is stupid given that the area has so many malls with free parking. $10 weekend parking is less stupid then the weekday rate people inevitably charge back to their companies. Housekeeping was fine and extra towels were delivered promptly upon request. Front desk staff were helpful with lending umbrellas and securing extra water. Rooms are old but somewhat updated. Alarm clock includes USB port to charge phone. Lighting sucks, but does hotel lighting ever not suck? TV was great with one of the most advanced modern smart TV designs (both HBO & Showtime available on-demand as well as the ability to stream from your device which I haven't seen before). WiFi kept cutting in and out and only had 2 "bars" from 1521. Might be time for another access point. Worth $60-$120 a night? Sure! Worth the $200+ that your company is paying. Nope! read more

Par for the Course The room was what you would expect. Out of dumb luck, my room overlooked the pool, which made it that much easier to keep up my swimming (2.5 to 4 feet deep). The downside is that the 2nd and 3rd floors smell like chlorine. I did manage to get locked out a couple times and the front desk was very helpful with that. The charge for Wifi was a surprise, which just meant I had to get to the office earlier. While I thought that breakfast was included in the rate, they still charged me $20 for it. I'm not sure what happened there. read more

A business traveler's take in a business traveler's minute: * The gym is one of the better hotel gyms I've been in * The pool is dated and in need of some TLC. The paint treatment given to the floors was coming off on the bottom of my feet and the Jacuzzi looked like it is falling apart with jets that bemoan and sputter. * The business center is average. Food offerings are definitely hors d'oeuvres, there is a cash bar, and awkward service. * The rooms are small. Your best bet at additional space is to ask for a double. * Traffic patterns around the hotel are difficult. Fortunately a Metro stop will soon open nearby. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They screw up the simplest orders and take forever. The food selection is great as hotels go, if only they could figure out how to get it to their customers. Avoid like the plague. Edit: Okay, so maybe there was a little hangryness in my previous review. I don't take my own advice, and I keep coming back.
