When you come into town and need to stay in a hotel, you want to stay somewhere reasonable and comfortable. Obviously the purpose of your visit dictates where you stay. Unfortunately, this trip was not one of pleasure, but of necessity. I came into town to support my best friend of 44 years during an extremely difficult time. So, how was the hotel? Perfect. This hotel was only 30 min from the Dulles airport and was $27 via Lyft. The hotel was reasonable $120/night and featured a full kitchen with each room. It was definitely clean and tidy. The staff was polite and helpful. This hotel was so close to a bunch of freeways.. while in town I had the opportunity to go 30 minutes into MD and visit with my brother (and celebrate and meet his 7th child!)... The point is this location fits opportunities in all directions. Oh. And free breakfast (and I don't mean Continental I mean eggs! Bacon! Yum! And a pool. There are several restaurants across the street and within walking distance. That was not a necessity to me but I did get doordash at one point and had a full fridge to store it. Important to many animal lovers... Dogs were welcome!!!!!! They also give you free popcorn which is a beautiful touch when you're by yourself and wanting a little warmth from home. The suite provided a stove top, full fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster. Toaster. Basically all necessities were met. Plenty of comfy pillows as well. Basically I would be back in a heartbeat.

This was a great stop for our family of 6 on our road trip. We stayed in a two room suite and it was very clean and spacious. They had : a small outdoor pool A large breakfast buffet area (it is open right now but not everything is being used/open) A nice pantry Laundry room (free but need detergent,$2 in pantry) Fitness room

Spacious room with kitchen. Hot breakfast includes bacon and potatoes which actually tasted awful. It has been a while since I had a bad experience with hotels' breakfasts. I arrived late and checked out early so I didn't get a chance to enjoy what others mentioned except for the breakfast.

King One Bedroom Suite. reserved. The check-in process was completed on my phone and computer. You will need to pick up the key card from the front desk which was waiting for me. Upon entry to the room, the first thing I noticed was the lighting. It is very dim. The next thing that I noticed was the the window sling panel curtains did not close all the way so at daylight the room is bright. There was 3 layers of curtain and it did not cut the light...sample image attached. Forgive me older 2016 cell phone photos. Comfortable bed. You can hear everything outside room. Parking is free. Many great accessories in the room. One thing that was annoying was that there were no USB ports for charging and more so be prepared with your charging block and everything a surge because of the limited outlets by the workstation. Outside of this, the staff was nice on approach (not greeted as member) but I like the quick on-boarding.

Here for a week and a stay.

An Exceptional Hotel that Needs A Tech Upgrade This hotel is located in a prime location. The property is immaculate in every way and the staff was on their game. The rooms are not tech-friendly. There is a lack of USB outlets everywhere. I desperation, I found an outlet behind the TV screen after a frantic search for a USB connection to recharge my phone. This room was just not up to par with tech-friendly rooms that are offered by their competitors, Marriott for example. The in-house Wi-Fi connection in the rooms was not user-friendly at all. I am sorry that my review grade can't be higher because the hotel hits every mark in appearance and decor. This hotel would merit five stars if only they can bring in some very basic tech upgrades to at least be competitive with their competition.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff provides excellent customer service, and takes pride in their work. There were two discrepancies that I encountered during my stay. The front desk staff has no knowledge of Yelp offering IHG Bonus Points once you check in. The second discrepancy is the hot water in shower takes some time to heat up. Outside of that, I enjoyed my stay at this property.

Enjoying a complimentary cup of hot chocolate before bedtime.

About a day before I received information regarding mobile key access. I downloaded the app and was given a code to access my reservation. I checked in the morning of via the app and was advised they would let me know when my room was ready. Surprisingly, it was ready before 11am. I chose to drive instead of taking the metro. The directions provided took me directly to their garage. I parked on the sixth floor and used my mobile key to access the hotel door and elevators. I selected my floor and it assigned me an elevator that took me directly to the 15th floor. I had a King Junior suite. It was clean, spacious, modern, beautifully decorated, and had a lovely view of the Perch. The Watermark had many highlights. The first was the Perch. It offers swings, live music, food trucks, putt putt, a dog park, and a restaurant that you could get to from the 11th floor. It's family friendly and an overall beautiful space. Another highlight, is that Capital One Hall is literally around the corner and less than a 4 minute walk. It's a great location if you're attending a show which I was. Lastly, is breakfast is included. They offered Belgian waffles, grits, chicken and pork sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, hot cereal, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea. I consider that a pretty good selection. The customer service was good. The staff that I encountered were very polite and professional. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to couples, families, or solo travelers. Things to note: parking is $25, check in is 4PM, check out is 12 PM, breakfast on the weekend is from 7-11 and weekdays 6-10.

Walking in on the first floor, you have to select the floor on a screen and then the screen tells you which elevator to go to for that floor and even give you an arrow pointing you in the right direction. So you never actually push any buttons inside the elevator. I thought this was neat. Breakfast is included on the 11th floor I believe. It's an upscale continental breakfast, but the best continental breakfast I've probably ever had. Potatoes, two kinds of eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, fruit, coffee, juice etc. Not a bad breakfast! The lobby was also vast and beautiful - I didn't get to explore as much as I would have liked! So the room was fantastic! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but there was a mini couch, chair and desk, nice queen sized bed kitchenette area and decent bathroom with the room overlooking the courtyard with food trucks and mini golf course. Unfortunately I don't think any outdoor activities were open due to time of year/weather but still a nice view! It's connected to a grocery store - Wegmans and also close to the metro and a nice coffee shop around the corner. Definitely a nice stay for work or leisure!

Slippers - Way Cute! Room Service - I think this is one part I didn't like, food came in boxes and not on plates. Would have preferred to have standard room service but still great service. Another nuance - The noise. At around 1ish music still could be heard from a club/party unsure where it was coming from. Definitely could be problematic for people that are light sleepers. No Spa at this location - BUT - Retail Therapy is right around the corner at Tyson's! Overall, Love! Love! Love this cute hotel! Would definitely return, even just for happy hour at their bar! As a family, we adore this particular Ritz Carlton in Tyson's Corner. It's probably our favorite hotel collectively - you can't beat the amenities, the service, the staff, and the location. My parents have consistently gone back to this hotel for a yearly weekend getaway consistently for nearly 20 years, continuing to choose that hotel despite the ever-changing landscape due to COVID. Therefore, it is with great disappointment that I write this negative review about this hotel because it has truly served us well over the years. My parents booked a weekend trip from November 14th through the 17th in celebration of my mom's birthday. Unfortunately, my mother came down with COVID-pnemonia that week, showing symptoms on the evening of Monday Nov. 12th with an official diagnosis by the evening of Tuesday Nov. 13th. Realizing that they could not travel under such conditions, my father canceled the booking for their weekend trip via the website on Wednesday, Nov. 14th. While he was able to cancel the trip, the company withheld a 500 dollar, non-refundable charge because it was 'not within the three day limit' as stated on their website. Now the problem here is this - what constitutes as three days? Are we talking a full 36 hours here or are we talking three days as counting by fingers? Because the trip was canceled Wednesday morning with a 4pm Friday arrival - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are three days. I hate to cherrypick the Bible (although it is common practice these days), but if we're going by Jesus' rules, he died on a Friday afternoon and was resurrected on a Sunday morning, and it constitutes as three days by church law - but apparently, this timeline is not good enough for the Ritz Carlton. Believing this was unfair, my father called the hotel themselves and explained the situation - they are longtime customers, my mom was nearly hospitalized due to Covid, they had a doctor's note as proof, is there anything they could do to lessen this exorbitant cancellation fee? The staff's answer was essentially "apologies, but no." The staff said my father should have called the hotel directly instead of canceling it online and they could have done more for them, and that it actually wasn't three days but more like two and a half, and the charge would unfortunately stay. Now, we understand that hotels are subject to inflation and economic woes due to the state of the world, and some sort of penalty due to the cancellation is understandable - but let's look at the facts here. My mother was diagnosed with a highly contagious virus, and they did the right thing by canceling their trip a few days before as opposed to risking several people in the hotel. This was not a morning-of cancellation - this was a cancellation on Wednesday for a trip that technically wouldn't begin until check-in time at 4pm on Friday. Was there absolutely nothing the management staff could have done to rectify or soften this blow? If removing the fee was out of the question, there are other things the management could have done instead of saying "sorry, not sorry" about the 500 dollar charge. They could have offered a voucher, or a credit for rebooking a different weekend, or offered free dinner at one of their restaurants - something to make up for this loss. My parents would have accepted any of these things - because really, THEY are the ones missing out here - no trip, a terrible illness, and out 500 dollars because they did the right thing by canceling. To me, this is just poor business practice. It is important to reward loyal customers, and the Ritz-Carlton is supposed to be the height of luxury - and yet, apparently the 500 dollars is more important than maintaining a 20-year long relationship. It's truly disappointing. The irony is that the Ritz Carlton has a '$2000 rule' to make guests happy, but apparently they need my parents' 500 dollars in order to make this golden rule work for other customers.

Pros: - upscale/elegant feel - did not have to park in parking garage -bar and two restaurants -room does not feel dated -biggest "market" area I've ever seen at a hotel, like a mini convenience store -I appreciated having a full-sized pump body lotion in the bathroom -turndown service from housekeeper - not sure if this is standard or we were just lucky - warm cookie at check-in! Cons: - restaurant with a bar felt dark and cave like. House wine not good - when breakfast restaurant asked about gluten free options they only pointed out gluten free bread. We asked if hot options were prepared separate from areas where foods with gluten are prepared and were told they were but did not have confidence in this answer (chose to eat elsewhere). Buffet ($20) is only option. -had to walk a long way from lobby/entrance to get to our room -usually when there are three bottles installed in the shower you have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Ours had two shampoos and a conditioner. Not sure if this is protocol or was just our room. There was bar soap. -HVAC unit very noisy. I'm not talking about the "hum"/motor. I'm talking about sudden rattling noises that would happen at infrequent intervals along with sudden noises that sounded like plastic breaking or the noise a plastic water bottle makes when it is expanding/retracting. Luckily I had ear plugs, I could still hear the noises but they weren't loud enough to startle me.

For the 2023 Chocolate Festival there was a whole hallway of rooms where the vendors were displaying their delicious chocolate candies & treats that they had for sale! It was a very organized event. All purchases being made with tickets that you bought from the cashiers at a long table in the lobby just around the corner of the hallway. Down the other hallway was a special room set up as a children's game room with arts & crafts and Legos for the kids to build with. My grandchildren loved it! There were benches for relaxing on conveniently placed by the bathrooms. We sat there and shared some of the chocolate treats that we bought! That same day a flute quartet was providing music for the visitors. This was a super fun event. I would gladly return to this venue for other family themed activities.
