I thought my stay was very good. Not many hotel chains allow 1 dog, let alone 2. I was traveling with my 2 basset hounds and SpringHill Suites was able to accommodate 2, 50 lb each, dogs, pet fee is $50 plus $5 extra cleaning fee. Hotel is in a decent area with plenty of restaurants, stores etc on Main St. We needed a Petco and there is one 2 min away. Staff were friendly, lobby/breakfast area is clean. Hotel grounds were also very nice with a few places for dogs to potty. Covered/gated parking was a nice reassurance and parking fee for a night was only $6.23. Bed was very comfortable, shower had strong pressure and a very tall shower head if you are tall. A little bit of peeling wallpaper over shower area but overall decor was satisfactory. Room has a frig, microwave and couch/trundle bed to accommodate additional people. read more

As I stood at the front desk for NINETY MINUTES attempting to resolve an issue, I noticed that the phone didn't ring one time. The phones were turned off! When the clerk turned away to help someone else - without so much as addressing my issue, I picked up their phone and it was dead. What if there had been a true emergency? It would take too long to explain my personal ordeal with this property and the rudeness I experienced, but everyone needs to know the hotel's disinterest in the well-being of their guests. read more

Room layout is weird, not much room for a suite. No dresser, no luggage rack, no lotion in the room. Room had a musty smell. Housekeeping was terrible even tho they only come every 3rd day- emptied the trash and left a new bar of soap on the sink. Beds left unmade, floor not cleaned, bathroom not cleaned, empty toilet paper roll not replaced... Staff was friendly, and nice. Breakfast is available, but not great quality. Had spoiled milk at breakfast- reported it to the kitchen staff- curds and chunks felll out of the carton and smelled terrible even tho it was in date. They were apologetic, and found me a new carton. Rooms could use a remodel. I don't think I would stay here again. Lots of other options in the area. It's a 2 star hotel, but gave it 3 stars because of the nice staff. read more

I thought rooms were clean but when I leaned down to see why the air condition wasn't working I saw mold all over it.

Location was perfect for my itinerary! Restaurants and shopping stores are near by! Friendly customer service! HOWEVER... When I walked in my room, there was a funky, disgusting scent. I determined that the scent came from the couch in the front room and asked myself, "Is it worth it to tell the front desk?" The other rooms' couches are probably just as smelly. Also the cell phone reception is disastrous! There's free Wi-Fi but I didn't use it when I checked my bank accounts. Dogs are welcome here. You'll instantly notice because the lobby smells like it! This hotel will never be an option. My stay had such an impact on me that I would never consider staying in a SpringHill Suites. read more

It says a lot when you can't review a property on google maps bc the business doesn't want to continue receiving ONE STAR reviews. The kinda fat girl with green hair who works here is very rude. I actually came for a birthday trip for two nights and the stay was unpleasant. I had to ask for a new room due to a cigarette smell in a smoke free facility, the next room had a visible cigarette burn on the carpet. I went back and told her and just stayed with the original room and dropped my stay to one night. I chatted in the middle of the night after I noticed my reservation was still for two nights, the updated the stay correctly in the middle of the night but she hadn't done so at the front desk when I asked. When I checked out I noticed a random $5 fee for pet cleaning on top of the $50 Pet fee. The Marriott app only mentioned the $50 fee. I questioned it and she said someone "should've told me" well they didn't dummy that's why I'm questioning it. So I say well I'll call CS and she starts to say "I mean I could just" then gets visibly flustered and rude. If you COULD take it off then you should have when I mentioned I wasn't told about it, instead of taking my comment about customer service personally and behaving like a little b*tch. The rooms are not great and furniture is weathered. I will definitely be emailing Marriott corporate about this stay. I'm trying to enjoy my birthday and that's the only reason why I didn't make a bigger deal of it than I could have at the time. Hire better people who actually know how to work with customers and not take things personally. This old, run down, SMOKY hotel needs help asap. read more

Probably a 3.5 for me overall. This looks to be a newer property right off the highway in Fairfax. It's best for those needing to be in the area vs tourists to DC, as the metro doesn't run this far out and a cab will be in the $70 range. My room was clean and generally comfortable. Rooms have a microwave and a small fridge which is nice, along with a sofa that doubles as an extra bed. If you dig it, they've partnered with West Elm so you can order your very own. I will say that some of the construction fittings used were beyond cheap - my windows were so flimsy/poorly installed that any time the wind blew there was a loud howling noise. That also means lots of road noise but that generally isn't an issue after 9pm. Breakfast was the standard "free breakfast" and WiFi is free as well. If you're driving there is now a $3/night fee. Local area rise there are a few restaurants in walking distance (mostly fast food but also a sports bar place) - about a mile away is Fairfax Commons with WAY better choices. Definitely a decent place to stay. read more

My room was nice, spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, my check in process was quick and painless. The breakfast is free and was surprisingly really good for hotel breakfasts! Most hotel breakfasts are meh but they're free so you deal with it anyway but their breakfast was great and I got seconds and thirds. SpringHill Suites Fairfax needs a makeover! The rooms seem dated and the room I checked into was rather warm on entry. The beds especially are tough to sleep on. They don't provide much support and feel like a futon mattress. The bathroom needs more light and feels like I'm in a motel room. The hideaway bed in the living room wouldn't fully hideaway and impeded my ability to sit on the couch without the hideaway getting in the way of where I put my legs. The breakfast layout was kinda narrow and tight. Not much room to really move about and the options didn't really standout. For the two nights I stayed, there was someone revving their bike in the parking lot at 5am-ish which was annoying. I realize that this is not reflective of the hotel or staff but it still impacted my overall experience and impression. The parking lot was a bright spot, it was well lit and clean. The elevator seemed well kept and the walkway to the parking lot from the hotel was covered which helped when it thunderstorm-ed during my stay. Overall, I'd probably not stay in this hotel again. read more

We stayed there last night. We were at a party across the street from there. We made reservations a few weeks ago. But we realized they were at a Marriott 5 miles away. We told them what happened and how we would be drinking and didn't want to drive. They understood and canceled our reservation so we could switch to Spring Hill suites. Thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay here. I'm starting to love the SH brand! Cozy room (see pictures). That lighting that I love, even better this time because it was dim-able! Bed was comfy, lobby is beautiful, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was on point (Um, Nutella packets?!? Never in all my hotel stays have I seen that!!). Minus 1/2 star for no tv channel guide and very limited channel selection. Ultimately, the Nutella alone makes this a 5 star hotel. ;) I'll be back! read more

We had a stay of two weeks here due to work assigment. The staff was really nice and helpful and the hotel was clean. I setup my work station & had no issues with the free wifi. Free parking has limited spaces , that would be my only issue but I think thats most hotels nowadays. I would take the other persons review review with a grain of salt not sure what his issue is but looking at his other reviews I think it's more him than the businesses. read more

SpringHill Suites in Fairfax is as good as it gets! My friends and I stayed here while we were on vacation visiting Washington DC. Getting a hotel in DC was very pricey (even with booking in advance), so we were looking for a hotel that wasn't very pricey or far from DC. What's great about SpringHill is that it is affordable without having to sacrifice luxury. They offer a hot breakfast every morning from 7 AM - 9 AM (till 9:30 AM on the weekends) and the breakfast has everything you would ever want to eat in the morning. There was fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles, eggs, meats, cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. There's also free coffee/tea all day long! In addition to having an awesome wake-up spread, SpringHill offers free parking (something that is hard to find in a large city). The suites are clean, modern and very comfortable. Five of my friends and I slept in one room, and it fit all of us comfortably. There's a pool, a fitness center, and a little store at the front where you can get anything from a midnight snack to mouthwash. The staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel like the SpringHill was our home away from home. If you're going to Fairfax or DC and are looking for an awesome hotel to stay in, definitely choose SpringHill Suites. When I visit again, I know that I will. read more

This was my home away from home while in NoVA for a week on business. My room (suite?) was a bit bigger than than you'd find at a normal hotel and decorated in a modern IKEA-esque Euro style that I found appealing. One downside to the sparse decor was the omission of a dresser which is something I've come to rely on when traveling. When I am going to be holed up somewhere for more than a couple of days, I do like to unpack my suitcase to feel a little more settled. In this case, even though I had packed pretty lightly, I still had to keep half my clothes in the closet in my suitcase. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, which I find to be the most important parts of any hotel stay, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was pretty good and included various hot foods (eggs, bacon or sausage, waffle bar, oatmeal) as well as pastries, fruit, and cereal. Definitely a welcome change from the usual Continental of stale doughnuts and bad coffee. That's not to say there weren't some thing s that bothered me. The worst thing was the inability to completely shut off the heater. The air in the room was REALLY dry, and even when the thermostat was set to "OFF" the heater would periodically blow air into the room. Another issue was that housekeeping seemed to slack off a bit as the week progressed. Maybe this was due to different staff members, but as the week went on, little things like the in-room coffee not being re-stocked and the decorative pillows not making their way back onto the bed after it was made started to add up. The Wi-Fi was complimentary, but the quality of the connection seemed to vary drastically at different times. A couple of nights I was mid-movie on a Netflix stream and had to stop watching because I couldn't get enough signal to continue. There was also a wired internet connection in the room, which is a nice touch, but due to the layout of the room it's not convenient to use with a laptop in the bed. Overall, this wasn't a bad place to stay, it just had some rough edges. I've certainly been to worse, and the staff was friendly and helpful when I interacted with them. I'm pretty sure I'd be ok with staying here again. read more

SpringHill suites are always nice and reliable. The drawback for this location is the new pay parking with a parking that is access controlled. Not a good hotel if you have visitors arriving, since it is inconvenient for a suburban hotel to have this type of parking situation. Part of the growing pains i guess of this area, but many alternative hotels nearby with free easy in/out surface parking. read more

Chose this hotel on our way to Richmond for a race. The hotel is modern and in a great location and it has a parking garage. They state on their site that there is a charge but I wasn't charged. We arrived late around 23:45 after having a late dinner and were welcomed by a very nice front desk clerk who explained the accommodations perfectly. The only minus was a group of sport moms with their daughters (I'm guessing ages 13-15) who were hammered drunk in the bar area with their kids in site. Guessing it was a sports trip based off the kids shirts and my time as an ball player when I was younger. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We basically just slept here as we had to be up early to sit in I-95 traffic (I grew up in the region and I know I-95 all too well). I would definitely recommend and return to this hotel, there was a great brewing company we had a late dinner at in Fairfax that was delicious. read more

Let gets down to business: 1. I booked one night here last month, it was $80 on price line. 2. Hotel is pretty new 3. Outside parking is very very small, I drove a truck that day, and it wouldn't fit in the garage. So it sucks that you can't stay out at night. 4. Bathroom is very large, almost the size of the room itself. 5. The A/C kept cutting on and off during the night (very annoying) 6. The mattress was comfy, the pillows were new. Good hotel. Let me Tell you about my HORRRIBLE experience with Marriot Fairfax VA. I made a reservation for a Friday and Saturday night. I called the hotel multiple times to let them know I was coming down after a 5 hour drive and would be there around 4 AM and could they have a room ready for me. I as told to check the day of my travel on one call and on the day of the travel I was told they would have a room. I got there around 3:45 AM to a person who completely ignored me for almost 15 minutes and then when she finally acknowledged me identified herself as the night auditor. She proceeded to tell me that no one told me or would tell me a room would be available. When I showed her the number on the reservation, she said it wasn't the hotel's phone number only to 2 minutes later acknowledge she knew who the person was I spoke to and said she would talk to them. I finally said just find me a room we are exhausted. She said she had no room. I finally walked out when she called back I have a room.. I told her I would never stay at a Marriot even if they paid me to stay there and called a Comfort Inn nearby that not only found us a room, but did not tell me I had to pay extra. Marriot was rude and unaccommodating and the Comfort Inn was very accommodating. Thank you Comfort Inn we were able to get to get some sleep. I will be in that area a lot over the next couple of years and will never stay at that hotel. read more

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times when I have been in the area for business the beds are comfortable and the rooms are fairly large but that's about where the good ends. This hotel caters more to kid groups and does not think to group them in the same area of the hotel so the noise level is ridiculous most of the time. The one time I asked to move rooms the person at the front desk called me crazy and basically had the attitude of I should deal with it luckily the other front desk person seemed to understand where I was coming from and came up later and offered to move me to a different room. Also, housekeeping is inconsistent some days I would come back and have to empty my own trash (the front desk was nice enough to take it for me so I didn't have to walk to the back of the property) and request fresh towels even though housekeeping had been in my room. Some of the front desk staff is extremely friendly unlike the gentleman who called me crazy for expecting to be able to actually sleep in a hotel, there is free wi-fi and there is a bar and pool which I have never bothered to take advantage of but it's nice to have on site. The hotel is also walking distance to a nice strip mall area. They do provide a free breakfast in the morning but due to the fact that they normally have an excessive amount of people in the hotel it is hard to take advantage of it, the area is so packed and it does not get replenished often enough to bother so I normally buy something elsewhere. If it wasn't for my convenience with my company's travel and booking I would never actually pick to stay here on my own. read more

The hotel itself was nice and in a quiet location with shopping and several restaurants nearby. Needs a bit of maintenance (Door lock to get back in from patio to pool was broken, occasional wear & tear obvious...). Parking was in a clean, well lighted garage and cost $3 a day. Staff training is a major failing point at this location. - 2 clerks working the front desk when we checked in. One was occupied checking in a customer with 2 more in line while the other clerk was on her cell phone making a personal call ignoring check-ins. - Keys to room didn't work; Front desk had sent us to a room that was already occupied. Had to make 3 trip back downstairs to work it out. - Coffee and supplies constantly ran out during breakfast and during the day. - "Kitchen Staff" was surly, and I'm being generous. - At 7:30ish AM on a weekend, housekeeping started cleaning rooms. This was apparent by the constant banging of the doors against the security hooks. - Seems to be a popular place for youth groups and youth sports teams given the young folks running up and down the halls late in the evening and early in the morning. - - I would suggest booking large youth groups into the lower floors and putting other guests up higher. I travel quite a bit for work and occasionally for pleasure. I'm not confident I could recommend this hotel for either. read more

Smooth check-in. Very nice employee at the front desk. I paid for my room through hotwire and front desk employee mentioned needing a credit card to place a $20 hold just for incidentals. For some reason another $60 was pulled from my account. That being said- I don't care how nice the room is when you start messing with my coins. The room was nice but the full length mirror has a frosted pane along the side that's ugly and washed out. Some of the frost was gone. Good breakfast bar in the morning even though the oatmeal was cold in the holding station. If not for the money issue, I'd stay again- especially at hotwire prices. Let's start with the positives: the location is nice. Quiet area with food options in a short driving distances. The rooms are clean, updated, and spacious. Free parking. Good WiFi. Now the negatives: I've been staying at marriotts for both personal and business travels for over 4 years. And I never been to a Marriott where they ran out of food out for breakfast. They. Ran. Out. Of. Food. For. Breakfast. They ran out of milk, bread, eggs, and sausage. The trash cans were overflowing. From the time I was waiting for a table to waiting on line to eating: about 45- one hour not one trash can was emptied out. Also it seemed to be only one person handling cleaning, refreshing the food, and other breakfast duties. I witness a child acciendently spilled milk after knocking into someone. And staff just used a napkin to clean it up then kicked it to the side. The same staffer was very rude to guest. Also I had to make 2 separate request for towels and pillows before receiving them. Location and rooms are nice. But service was not. I will not be back. read more

Worst hotel experience of my life. We checked in on 9/22/17 for one night and we noticed that there was a lot of noise coming from the room below us. We could not sleep until 3:00 AM. I called the front desk about 2-3 times at night and they kept saying that they will "check on it" but nothing happened. I was extremity disappointed and frustrated. So I called the front desk again in the morning and the person wound not let me talk to the manager. He kept saying "we are sorry sir but there is nothing we can do" The person I spoke at night was Kevin and the person in the front desk in the morning was Chris. Not sure why I was not offered to change my room or at least let me speak to a manager. Right before checking out I encountered a person with a large group of kids. I started chatting with her and she said that they were in the room 303 which was the room below us that the noise was coming from. The person I encountered told me that they had 20+ people in the room as they had a "party". IShe kept apologizing and she even stated that they paid extra to have more people in the room. I told Chris while checking out that there should be a limit of how many people stay in the room but he stated "you can have as many people as you want in the room". Since I was not getting anywhere, I called the main Marriott hotel customer service and filed a formal compliant. I will be writing a letter of complaint as well. read more

We were exhausted from driving all day and finally made it to the hotel around 1am, only to find out it had been overbooked. The poor girl at the front desk seemed very apologetic, but kept explaining to us how she wasn't even supposed to be working tonight. They had already had to walk two other customers and we were next in line. Unfortunately, the only place they could find for us was 30 extra miles outside D.C. There was no way I would stay that far out. So I turned down the offer and found my own place to stay. I can maybe understand walking one customer. But three? That's just unprofessional. read more

"Do not disturb" means nothing in this hotel. We returned to our room after a day at the museums only to find that someone had been in our room. The tv was left on and the remote control was swapped out with a new one. I called the front desk to inquire if anyone had been in our room, and was told that yes, they were adding netflix to the all the TVs. No apologies. We were never given any notice. When I asked the manager why we weren't advised, she said simply that they only had a few days in which to get all the rooms fitted. She said there was a notice at the front desk and at the elevators. Well, I don't typically stop at the front desk everyday, and as I was on the first floor I never used the elevator. Our bags were left out and unsecured. I could've been asleep or in the shower. I feel as though my privacy has been violated. I should've been notified. read more

Overall, this is a decent place to stay and the have sufficient parking for everyone as they have a parking garage on site, but compared to other SpringHill Suites I've stayed at, this one was lacking - especially at the high price point I paid. Breakfast was always haphazard and coffee was always out, to where I had to flag down a staff member to get the container swapped out. My room was decent, but it looks like someone tried to run through the bathroom wall in the shower, as there was a huge crack through it, and a poor patch job. read more

Nothing is more pleasing to the weary business traveler than a consistantly friendly, clean, accomadating hotel. Clean rooms with a comfortable bed, a roomy desk with good lighting and free wi-fi. Sometimes Sometimes I have nice provided breakfast & other times I grab a bagel to go, either way they accomadate & fit my business lifestyle. Joanne and Brian and all the staff are always available to make my stay constisantly comfortable. I stay here two or three days every week because of the great location and great service. The SpringHill Suites in Fairfax exceeds my expectations. read more
