This is a good location that is both metro accessible and close to DC. They do charge for parking perhaps because they are close to the metro. The building was a bit drab and the elevators limited. It seemed like it could use an update. I will say that I received excellent service and that after checking in one night, the same person at the front desk immediately remembered my name and room number when I came back to inquire about using my member benefits for a late checkout (and unfortunately I didn't get his name). And it isn't too hard to earn a late check out through this company and it did help me out a bit. read more

What a great value. Just walking distance from the Tyson malls. Came here for a work event and got checked in by Leo who was very friendly and helpful. Note that as soon as you walk in there's a dingy odor. I think the carpet needs to be cleaned or there's mold somewhere. The toilet in my bathroom wouldn't stop filling and flooded the floor. I'm thinking that's what's creating the moldy smell. The staff was super apologetic. Really love the good sized fitness room and all the options for breakfast at the bistro. Wouldn't you know it - I was offered free breakfast buffet! Wow - best courtyard options for breakfast! There's also a sort of Starbucks but they don't take mobile preorder. I had an interesting experience at the Bistro. I went with minimal expectations. It's a "default" destination for people who don't want to venture out from their hotel after all. The person tending bar when I arrived was a pleasant lady who took my drink and food order: Vodka martini and a Bistro Burger I knew immediately there was a concern because I wasn't asked what vodka I preferred and whether I wanted it straight up or on the rocks etc. the drink I got was (forgive me) disgusting. It was all vermouth and had a LIME in it. I choked this down and ordered a whiskey instead since that's pretty much impossible to mess up :) To make matters worse, the couple that came in after me not only got their burgers before me, they finished them before I got mine. Another person arrived behind the bar in the meantime. His name is "T". He gave me a water without me asking, asked me about my food order, and offered me another whiskey (again without asking me what I had- meaning he had looked to find out). He apologized for the food situation and got me my burger. I over-tipped him to acknowledge the good service. I decided to let him know about the issues I had, and he insisted on making me a proper martini. It was perfect. Turns out he had a family emergency, which is why he was not there when I walked in when they opened to take my order and provide proper service. Give this guy and his place a chance. He clearly cares about his customers and the service provided here, which is all too rare these days. Thank you T!!! read more

Just a bed to sleep on in my opinion. They do have some amenities, a gym and a restaurant (though I never ate there). Did try my hand at attempting laundry. You have to purchase detergent at front desk, they only take card, but laundry machines take coin. Can't split a bill cause they done have cash to break anything over a $5 bill to get coins. Bathroom reminds me of a prison bathroom. They charge to much for all the lack of customer care! read more

Stayed here in December after a holiday party in the restaurant down stairs. While it was a great rooms and friendly staff was a little disappointed when I checked in and was given breakfast hours for the morning to come to find out that it wasn't free and had very small offers. I know it's Tysons corner but $10+ for a coffee is ridiculous. Also beware of their parking garage it is very tight and saw many near misses with people pulling in and out of spots as well as going around the narrow turns. read more

If I can give this place zero stars I would. My boyfriend visits VA often since his kids live there. So he decided to get a hotel this time. Basically just to sleep from day one he was harassed by the front desk agent Nikki who doesn't even deserves her job. Apparently the next door neighbor kept calling the front desk saying that tooo much noise is coming from his room. When he's having a phone conversation with me. No TV is on. No radio. Just a phone conversation. After her calling telling him that there is complain he's tooo loud she than walks and knocks on his door and threatens to kick him out if he doesn't stop talking on the phone. LOL. I'm like just go to bed you have to get up early and take your kids for the day. He leaves the hotel at 10:30am the next morning because he has a fun filled day planned with his kids. He's gone the entire day. Returns for his last night at the hotel and once again Nikki is calling his room telling him that the neighbor feels threatened and he harassed him by knocking on his door with threats. WTF? He was gone the entire day? Doesn't even know what the neighbor looks like. Nor did he approach the guy. She told him he had 5 min to leave the hotel and called 12 police officers to escort him out. When he asked to view the camera she said they didn't have any on his floor. You escorted a black man out of the hotel for no reason in the middle of the night. Marriott I need answers!! Was this an act of racism? Why wasn't he notified early in the day if a guest had an issue? No room change? read more

Bistro Bar located on the second floor of the Courtyard. It operates for breakfast everyday, but for dinner only on weekdays. We were there on a weekend morning. There are Starbucks coffees, hot teas, and many soft drinks. There were a few small plates of meats and a few breakfast dishes. Let's be honest, the place could use a refresh. However, I found the property to be well maintained, the room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Bonus points if you get a room with a jacuzzi tub in the corner - I didn't use it, but it was a funny point of conversation. What more could you ask for? I stayed here over the weekend. I woke up in the morning and noticed I had several bug bites. I was running a bit behind getting to the airport and noticed 3 people in line waiting to speak to the front desk so I did not have time to speak with anyone that morning about it. I did email them and they said they would get back to me in 3-5 days. I do. It recommend. I travel a lot and have never had anything like this happen. We stopped here after a long roadtrip and found the reviews and photos to be decent. Upon arrival they didn't have the room with balcony we wanted. They were so apologetic and asked if we wanted an upgrade so we took it. Happy with my stay overall, especially because the lady at the front was so helpful. Unfortunately the photos were deceiving, as the rooms were subpar. It was cool we were moved to a more spacious room but honestly everything is outdated and dusty! It depends on your style, but for the price I expected a cleaner room. Parking was free during these crazy times which was cool. Not bad for a quick night stay. read more

I had to literally figure out how to write a review because my experience booking here was Amaxing. I stayed on 06/2 and Larry was so attentive. He went above & beyond and catered to all of my questions and concerns. Although it was close to the end of his shift he told me that he was going to make sure that my stay was to my standard and I was comfortable. He answered every question and concern that I had. I love the fact that even while helping me he was also making sure that the guest walking in were greeted. His ability to multitask and attention to detail was a great perk! It actually seemed like the least clean Marriott hotel I've ever stayed in. The bedding smelled "clean" but also kind of smelled of chemicals. **Check-In - We stayed in the Tysons for an event, as it was close to the areas we needed to be, including some sightseeing in DC. We used points to pay for the room and reserving it was very easy. We used the cell phone app to check in. We were able to get early check in via the app and it was very easy to use. Upon arrival, they had our key with our name on it and the clerk at the desk was very friendly. Picking up the key took only a minute to do. **Room/Bathroom - The room was decent... Upon arrival, one of us were able to get in without an issue, but the other's key didn't work and she needed to go back to the desk to get a new key (this is quite annoying when this happens; fortunately, the elevators are quick). The room was really outdated-looking. It smelled and looked ok otherwise. The amenities were just OK... very basic soap that is tiny, towels that are thin, lighting was dim in the entry way and one light next to the bed didn't work. The TV was decent. There were USB chargers next to the bed and plenty of outlets. AC worked fine and was quiet. Bathroom is really plain, basic and blah. Water pressure was very nice and there as ample hot water. **Property - The property needs better upkeep... An example of poor attention to detail was that there's a rubberband in on of the lights in the lobby area that anyone sitting in the seats in the lobby can see by simply looking up (it's on the inside of the light fixture). But so much of the property has small tweaks and things to clean that will make it look a lot better. The location is very convenient, as it's in the heart of Tysons. **Bed - The bed was very comfy and allowed for a nice night's sleep. The shades were able to pull closed to keep the room dark. Pillows were comfy too. **Overall - Nice visit.... Given their category 3 rating, it's not a bad use of the points needed to stay here. It's close to nearly everything also. I attended a meeting here last Thursday and Friday and we had lunch at the restaurant both days. The variety of options and the quality of food really surprised me in a good way! On Thursday, we had a Mediterranean lunch with chicken and beef skewers, orzo, Greek salad and pita with hummus. The baklava for desert was divine :) perfectly sweet. On Friday I snapped a pic of the Chinese style lunch. The chicken was okay, but the fried rice, the shrimp and the noodles were tasty. Just the right amount of grease while still tasting fresh. As nice as this property is, the front desk attendant, Shanti, was incredibly rude and strangely combative. We parked behind the building in an area that said "permit parking only" for overnight. So, when we checked in, we asked her if the space we parked in was acceptable, or if the "permits" didn't refer to those who get parking passes at the hotel. She responded that it's not illegal to park there, but that there's "a towing company that's comes through every night, so that's up to you." Being confused, we try to clarify, asking "okay, so we should park in the garage then, correct?" Shanti then responds, "I don't want to argue with you, but I'm telling you, it's up to you." Still confused, we respond "I guess we'll park in the garage then?" She then, seeming annoyed, responds that that's fine. As someone whose profession is customer service, I can't understand why she couldn't provide us 1) with a simple answer to a simple question and 2) why she got so combative so quickly when we, very politely, tried to ask for clarification. The service is great, there is ample free underground digitally monitored parking, complimentary Internet access, the room is large. The best part, since I'm such a loyal Marriott customer, I was upgraded to the King Jacuzzi Suite with a spectacular view of Macy's, Crate and Barrel, and Other attractions along Chain Bridge. Great location, staff and clean rooms with a fridge. Gym is nice and stocked. Hotel also offers complimentary on-call demand shuttle service within a 2 mile radius. Aziz, one of the drivers, was excellent. You tell him once and he remembers where you need to go haha. Never had to wait more than 10mins, usually less than 5mins. Walkable to Tyson's 2 mall, about 10mins. Parking is $10 daily, underground. If you have lots of luggage try to park on the floor where the elevators are or you will have to tug it up a flight of short stairs. The location is 1960-A Chain Bridge Rd. That "a" is very important otherwise it will take you to some residential area a mile away. Address on Google is incorrect and it sent my friend to another location. read more

Free wifi, free parking and huge newly renovated hi-tech rooms make this Courtyard a solid choice. Bistro and full-service restaurants mean you don't have to leave the hotel if that suits you, no free food at all tho. Don't get confused on your way in if you only see lots reserved for other hotel guests! The Marriott garage is tucked away below the hotel, when driving past the big lobby entrance look for a ramp headed to the lower depths, it's large but poorly marked. The Tysons Corner stop of the Silver Line metro is about 1/4 mile away - and finally opened July 2014. But a pedestrian's life ain't worth spit in Northern Virginia so walking from there to this hotel is a challenge, you can do it but you have to cross a 6-lane road with no crosswalk. Free wifi is a big plus, you can pay an additional $7 for super hi speed if you feel the need, but the basic service was plenty for yelping :) I wasn't kidding about the hi-tech room, mine had the best power jacks I've ever seen. Four USB and two 110v plugs at the desk, another 2 USB and one 110v plug on the left side of the bed, and yet another 2 USB plugs and one 110v plug on the right side of the bed! If that ain't enuf you have WAY too many toys with you LOL. The clock radio had the new iPhone mini connector. And a huge 42" flat-screen TV in my room had hi-def signals from NBC and others (altho too many old analog lo-def channels also). Proper adjustable chair at a nice desk, kudos. My bed was comfortable, many pillows, just fine. Noisy little refrigerator was a bit too modern - digital controls with no off switch - but they can't make it stay plugged in :) Big fitness center on the third floor with many machines, soft cushioned floor, everything looks new new as of 2014 too. The second floor bistro was happy to sell me a morning cup of Starbucks for about the same price as usual, opens 6am. Very convenient, actually a lifesaver because nothing else at all is close if you don't have a car. Restaurant serves a meh breakfast buffet for $13.95 plus tax plus tip in the morning, usual suspects of eggs, bacon, pancakes oatmeal, make-your-own waffle, OJ, milk, yogurts, danish, breads, etc. But of the omelet guy there was no sign, and at the peak of summer the fresh fruit was mostly canned, like pears and grapefruit. I won't be staying here again. I got a crummy room probably because I looked like a sucker. It was right by the ice maker which is extremely noisy. Really??? What a joke. The guy who checked me in knew I would be there less than 8 hours so that meant I needed my sleep. Argh!!! Now I remember why I moved over to the Hilton line of hotels as my preferred choice. It is all about the service to me. If you want a good night's sleep and a place with employees who care and provide impeccable service, I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here. Just attended a two day (wow, that was long) training at this facility. This hotel loses a point for confusion. It is right next door to a Holiday Inn, so pay close attention to the signs. As a meeting facility, this place is OK. They were generous with the coffee, tea and sodas (although there was no Diet Coke until the second day). The elevators here are weird. There is one set that goes up and down all four floors of the hotel, while another set goes down to the parking area. I recommend parking in the designated garage under the hotel. All of the spots in the outside lot seem to be marked for the Holiday Inn, so it is not like you have any choice. read more

Comfortable Hotel for a Hard Working Corporate Traveler Rooms: The suites are well sized and comfortable for those finishing a long day. The layout is nice, but feels a little clunky at the same time. You have to make a wide half circle to go from the bedroom to the living area. Since many people are likely to continue their work after finishing in the office, I would recommend having a tiltable television in the living area so they can watch TV and pretend to work at the same time. The desk lamp provides multiple plugs and USB ports for charging devices and whatever other needs you will have. The sofa in the living area is comfortable and the foot stool helps ease the pain of aching feet. The kitchen is a nice touch, but I feel the refrigerator is a tad bit out of place because of its size. It takes up as much space as the counter space and sink respectively. For longer stay it proves to be helpful, but I cannot imagine anyone keeping food/drinks in a fridge of that size. The sink even has a garbage disposal, not to mention the kitchen having more cabinet space than my kitchen at home. The bedroom is large and relaxing. In my case a king size bed with a beautiful flat screen TV hanging from the wall in front of it. Standard bed with alarm clock bright as the summer sun. I covered it with a towel at night so I didn't get blinded by its light. The water pressure in the shower is very powerful, so if enjoy a strong hot shower, well enjoy. The shower is a tad on the old side, so make sure to jiggle the handle a little to make sure the water flows properly before stepping in. Service: From the shuttle bus driver to the receptionist, everyone was friendly, courteous and professional. They are always willing to have a conversation with you (no matter how busy you are) and interested in your stories, no matter how mundane they are. They make you want to add additional tips to the room service (which is already 21%). Ordering food is quick and it arrives approximately 15-20 minutes after ordering it. Extras: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus from 7am to 11pm (confirm with the hotel about the details) for individuals who are not travelling by car. The morning are crowded, but the driver and passengers are friendly and most (if not all) are on their way to work. If you are at the office and don't feel like hailing a taxi, call up the front desk and they will send the driver to pick you up from your location (if you are within the pickup zone). Be sure to tip the driver! Overall: 4.25 Stars The Courtyard Marriott is perfect for the weary corporate traveler. The free shuttle bus to the office within a 2-mile radius is an excellent service to provide. While the layout is so-so, the suite is comfortable and relaxing. It is a nice way to end the day. Nice views of all the construction in the area. Once it's complete I'm sure it will truly be a sight to behold. Service is friendly and the food exceeded my expectations in quality, quantity and presentation. I highly recommend it, especially if the company pays for it. read more

This is a review of the restaurant as I have never had the opportunity to stay in the hotel. I attend s weekly networking meeting, which meets in the restaurant for breakfast. I have been coming to the Marriott just about every week for two years. Though the hotel already looked great, they just did some renovations. The restaurant staff is amazingly friendly, breakfast Buffett has lots of options and the food is always fresh. The omelets are great. They will also do custom egg orders, pancakes etc. This is a great location for a meeting. read more

If you want to avoid credit card scams, I would advise against staying here. The hotel does not request identification or the room key to verify if charges made at the hotel are correctly assigned to the right room. During my stay, I was billed for meals at the hotel restaurant that I didn't even know existed. When I brought up this issue with the front desk staff, they neither apologized nor offered a refund based on my complaint. Instead, they said they would investigate the matter thoroughly, which seemed reasonable, but that follow-up never occurred. I followed up with their front two staff members and front desk manager -- nothing was resolved, and nobody gave me a call!!!!! It's not a lot of money that I can just forget about it but it's a matter of principle! I felt extremely offended by their accusation of me using their service and refusing to pay. We stayed here 4 nights mid October for my son's wedding weekend in Nova. Hotel was very clean, COVID compliant, and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. There was a well hidden mini fridge in room which was very nice surprise. The ither guests overall were overall quiet and we appreciated that. Only downside was lack of good tasting and price point friendly food on the premises. There was a space to eat but very limited options and very high prices for only very average food that was pre made off premises and did I already say over priced. We found other nearby options at two shopping malls within short walking distance which had much better food and better price points. Great stay experience! The room was clean, the staff extremely helpful, and the facilities were modern. The steak house on the first floor, Flemmings, was amazing! The location is only about 2 blocks from a metro stop, the Tysons Mall is across the street, and there are plenty of sidewalks for running in the morning. The gym was one of the big highlights. This is not your typical 20' x 20' Marriott fitness center. Very large room with lots of cardio, free weights and band machines for working out with. Great views of Tysons Corner as well. The restaurant on the third floor was great for breakfast - there is an omelette made to order station! Lots of fruit and good coffee. Why 4 out of 5 stars - the fridge in the room wouldn't get cold. I didn't have time to alert the staff of this since I wasn't at the hotel very much (other than to sleep). read more

This hotel is an economical alternative to staying closer to the DC area. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the metro, shopping and places to eat. Hotel parking is super convenient with in and out privileges. The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are quiet and clean. The fitness center is better than most and has an outdoor seating area that offers a city view. Special thanks to the hotel staff and front desk personnel. My family stayed here during the Thanksgiving weekend. Between all of us we had 8 rooms. Except for the comfort of the bed (which was actually pretty small) I was disappointed with everything else at this hotel. The hotel is short staffed due to Covid. They admit that when they send you a welcome e-mail. Due to this they will only clean your room on every 3rd day of your stay. I do understand this can be an issue and I am ok with this but some of my family members want their beds made and the bathroom wiped down after using it. If I am going to a hotel I would appreciate my bathroom sink cleaned off. I shouldn't have to clean it myself. One thing that really irked me was when I was about to get in the shower I realized that they did not give me a separate bar of soap for the shower. I noticed this at 6:30 in the morning. We were told at check-in that if we needed anything we can ask at the front desk for it. I expected to find a bar of soap in the shower (which I have found at every other hotel) so why would I think to ask for it when I was checking in. I ended up using the bar of soap from the sink for my shower since I was not about to get dressed at 6:30 am to go get another bar of soap. I asked my other family members and they all said the same thing. They only received 1 bar of soap. When I spoke to a staff member about this they blamed it on Covid. They said that they did not have enough staff to clean rooms so this was the reason. Covid is not an excuse for this. I find it more that the hotel is just being cheap which is very disappointing for a Marriott. Another issue was the temperature of the room. We were only able to set the temperature to 64 or 74 degrees. I tried setting it to 68 and wasn't able to. I spoke to a few other family members and this was the same for them. I had to decide whether I wanted to be hot or cold when I slept. I couldn't be completely comfortable. Apparently this was due to covid too. Not enough staff. Other issues were the sinks get stopped up when using them. Again this happened to several of us. Also, each room gets 1 garbage pail and a recycling bin. The garbage does not have a bag in it. When you do not have house keeping cleaning your room for 3 days the garbage gets pretty full. I don't know what it would be like for people who have children in diapers. At least put plastic bags in the garbage pail so a person can tie it up and leave it outside of their room. Covid is not an excuse for everything. It sounds more as if this hotel is trying to cut costs. The most annoying thing is that after I checked out with my daughter we each noticed that we were both charged $70 extra on our charge cards. The receipts that were emailed to both of us had the price of the 3 rooms on it. Our credit card statements said something else. When I called about this we were told that they charged a $20 incidental fee per night which would be reimbursed 3-4 days later (could be up to 5 days if you used a debit card). We were told we signed a contract for this at the beginning of our stay. When I checked in I was asked to sign authorizing the charge of the room to my credit card but they never mentioned anything about incidentals being charged extra. They have my credit card number on file already. If any incidentals show up they can charge me then. This I find is more of a way for the hotel to make money. It is also very dishonest.I have stayed at many hotels and have never been charged this bogus fee. After this stay I would question whether I would even want to stay at a Marriott again. The chain is usually a very respected brand but I question now is this the way others are being run. I know I definitely would not stay at this one again nor recommend it. read more

The staff here are absolutely fabulous! So hospitable. So friendly. So helpful. Words can't express how satisfied I am with my stay here. Check in was a breeze, they offered free printing, and the shuttle service was extremely helpful. The reason why I deducted a star! My roommate and I were the first to go downstairs and request the shuttle at 7:45am to get to out location approx. 2 blocks away. Yes, we could have walked but, we were wearing heels. Cut us some slack. As the first ones on the shuttle and having a destination close to the hotel, I did not expect the driver to drop us off last. We ended up arriving at 8:35 because we were the LAST ones to be dropped off. If not for that incident, I would have loved to give them 6 stars if I could. The room was clean and had enough mirrors for 2 ladies to get ready in the morning without having to fight over mirror real estate. Will my friends be hearing about this place? Yes. Would I come back here? Definitely. Given that this place is really close to many great shopping places and restaurants, I wouldn't mind coming here again. read more

#20 Ths is a Marriot Hotel right? I thought so! But it sure doesn't carry itself that way. I think Marriot acquired a whole host of hotels but unfortunately their Courtyard line isn't the best. I checked in and had to be moved twice: -Once because there was a disturbing noise that I couldn't figure out. When I called the front desk, they said it was the kitchen and that it should shut off at 10. uhmmm you we're expecting me to stay? I'm not Type A or anything but I would like a relaxing stay. - Second time it was because the TV was in and out and had horrible reception. When they moved me to another room, the TV was not any better I gave up and stayed in the TV less (but thankfully quiet!) room for the next week. This was for a business trip and granted the two stars are for: 1. They have Flemmings downstairs and I love their happy our and 2. Location is about 2 blocks to the office. And service wasn't all that bad. But it was frustrating having to move around. Granted I'll be asking Corporate Travel not to put me here anymore. Sorry Courtyard :( read more
