Sonesta is one of my favorite hotel chains. Not lots of flash but definitely comfortable. Esme is a great customer rep at the front desk. If I had two knocks it would be the loud conversations the some of employees seem to have, especially at the coffee bar, and at the front desk. Where is the situational awareness? The second knock would be the narrow metal slip hazard tubs. Get walk-in showers please. 1955 is gone. read more

Stay here for value and location. The $20 nightly garage fee does increase the cost of the stay, but your car is secure. Accommodation were comfy enough & clean. There was coffee and a refrigerator in the room. Snack machine in the lobby area. Highly recommend finding breakfast outside nearby the hote,l as the offerings are not great. In walking distance are grocery store, target and restaurants. DC Is an uber ride just across the Potomac. read more

I stayed at this Sonesta Select for one night and I broke my wrist due to a fall caused by a raised lip exiting the elevator going to the parking garage. My travel agent called the hotel and spoke with the desk representative named Karina and reported the injury and she said she would speak to her supervisor Kelvin when he arrived at 3 pm. I called back and spoke the supervisor and asked for an incident report and gave him my email address but it was never sent. Then I called back and spoke with Kelvin again and he said he would speak to the general manager Jeffrey Butler and I waited another day and called back and spoke with Karina who assured me Kelvin would follow-up but that never occurred. 703 528-2222. Horrible customer service and follow-up. Dangerous raised lip near elevator. read more

Nice, comfortable hotel room. Cost of the room was reasonable, parking was kind of high, but there is an underground parking garage which plenty of spaces. It's very convenient to get to DC via the Rosslyn station, and there are several restaurants and shopping options in walking distance. Only issue was the don't really do housekeeping for multiple days. On request, they will replace towels, but they don't make the bed, which seems like a basic request to make the room nice, but oh well. There is a fitness center on site, but no pool. There is a coffee shop/breakfast shop as well. Overall, it was a decent stay and a quick metro ride or Uber into DC. read more

Hotel is reasonably priced and in a convenient location. Staff is very friendly. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My only gripe is that it is in a very noisy area. It is directly in a DCA flight path and the airplanes were coming every minute. At 6 am, I was awoken by loud Street noise like a garbage truck. Not the hotel's fault, but a note to travelers who want peace and quiet. read more

On my quest to rock Delaware for the 2nd time in the marathon distance (and beyond), my travels made a stop here in Washington DC. Decided to stay here at the Sonesta Select hotel Arlington Rosslynn. I found this hotel thru Hotels.com while searching thru where to stay. The location was basically near the National mall but across the Potomac River, which is more or less centralized to where I wanted to be. While the hotels near Washington Dulles international airport was fairly inexpensive, it was the location that drew me here to the Sonesta Select hotel here in the Rosalyn neighborhood of Arlington Virginia. With that said, I stayed here for a night before heading east to rural Delaware. Upon arrival, it was around 6:30pm after making the rounds at the Steven Udvar Hazy center and my friends dropped me off to get checked in and get my stuff in the room. The Sonesta Select hotel Arlington Rosslyn is a nice hotel that's is comparable to a Best Western or a Westin. Maybe a Sheraton but not with the bells and whistles that those brands carry, but it was a comfortable stay for sure. I enjoyed the small lobby that they have and while they didn't have complimentary breakfast for guests in the morning, they have an in house restaurant to cater to your needs. The hotel has your basic amenities. Too bad that I didn't use most of them, I enjoyed a nice stay here after a whirlwind day of travel from Honolulu to get adjusted to the eastern time zone even for the weekend. They have a fitness room, 24/7 business center, and a conference center. Too bad, no swimming pool. That would have been fabulous or at least a bonus to enhance my experience. The overall experience here at the Sonesta Select hotel Arlington Rosslyn was nice and quite pleasant. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the room key was one you'd have to put it in a certain way instead of tapping it like some credit card machines these days. I got a room with a king bed and a sofa couch. The room itself was nice and clean. The bed itself was quite comfortable. Got in 7 hours of sleep that night, even though I crashed after midnight. So comfortable and worth every penny, especially after traveling to get here. Everything in the room worked to a tee, so that was nice and dandy. The stay was enjoyable and wished it was longer, but it is what it is. The service was nice and friendly from check in and checking out. Although the room rates are a little pricey, the location really satisfy the price, especially when you're basically near everything touristy that Washington DC has to offer. The room ambiance was good and nice. I do love the quietness of the room though. The television was good and I got to watch whatever until midnight during my stay. And so, if you are have business or vacationing in Washington DC, or even just passing thru, consider staying at the Sonesta Select hotel in Arlington (Va) Rosslyn. The location, as mentioned before, is gold. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The Sonesta Select Arlington Rosslyn hotel is located at1533 Clarendon Blvd, a quiet area in the Washington DC suburbs. Like most hotels in the industry, they accept major credit cards, as well as cash. As far as parking goes, the hotel does have a parking garage, but they charge $28 for guests. If you are lucky and can find street parking, that's more power to you. If you are fond of public transportation, find the local metro and/or bus routes that are right for you. I think I picked a hidden gem here and hope that this hotel brand flourishes for years to come. While the prices tend to be higher than average, I figured that it's as best as they come due to the location. The room had your typical standard fare, which is nice. It couldn't have been a better stay. Although maybe cheaper rates? 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the location and bed comfort. 4.0 stars for the service and room ambiance. 2.0 stars for no complementary breakfast. Very nice accommodations at a reasonable price and well situated in the Arlington/Rosslyn area. Definitely recommend this hotel!

*I stayed for 1 night for a company trip. *I used the Metro to arrive here.. so no idea on parking. I was pretty impressed with Sonesta when it came to walkable stuff. 1. Very close to Starbucks (there's one inside! And one very close walking distance.) 2. Very close to a Boba Tea place :) 3. Very close to restaurants AND Target. (Literally just walked everywhere and wasn't tired since everything was close by. No need to Uber.). As you can see, Sonesta is suuuuper close to lots of places. In fact, the reason why I stayed here is b/c the start line to my company's 5k was fairly close (only a 5-ish minute walk). As I was walking to the start line on my own in the AM, I felt pretty safe. Internal stuff I liked at Sonesta: 1. Snack/ice cream/drinks you can buy in the lobby. 2. Did I mention the Starbucks inside?! 3. Staff members were really nice. 4. HUGE rooms. 5. Comfy beds. I slept super well. 6. Quiet - I didn't really hear anything when it came to noise level. I will stay here again whenever I visit! read more

Staying here for at least a week maybe two. Staff very nice and accommodating. Parking is not bad, 6'-8" is total height, I was 7' with ladder rack. They let me park in front drive with a special pass, still cost $28 which isn't bad for DC. Anything you need, except microwave in room is here. Refrigerator is about the size of 3 TV dinners. Downstairs is a commons area with tv, board games, older video games, and board games. I would make my lunch in pantry microwave and eat and play some old school Mario. Rooms are super quiet, doors are super heavy so don't close quietly, but only person I ever heard was my next door neighbor, across hall nothing. read more

They are not covering the basics with provision of towels, toiletries or clean sheets. Observed staff writing down room number when I requested a refill of shower gel. in bathroom, then nothing. Had to ask another staffer. Multiple calls for towels after day 4. Trash overflowing. Stay in a Marriott, even Motel 6 is cleaner. read more

I went to Arlington, VA recently to participate in Wreaths Across America. I had reserved a room at the Sonesta Select Arlington Rosslyn. I got there on Friday afternoon, checked in and went to the cemetery to spend the rest of the day. When I got back that evening, my sister joined me. We ordered in and had a quiet night in the room. We were up early and checked out by 6:30am so we could get over to the cemetery. We had a great day and a wonderful experience with the Sonesta Select. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my credit card statement on December 31st and there was a new charge for the Sonesta Select in the amount of $250. I immediately went to the Sonesta Select website and inquired what the additional charge was for. I sent a screen shot of my statement showing both charges. (The original room charge on the 18th and the one on the 31st.) I knew with it being New Years Eve, I would not hear back for several days. Imagine my surprise when I received an email yesterday saying the $250 charge was for the room cleaning because we had "trashed the room"!! Now Tim always makes fun of me when we travel because I always make the bed before we leave. I fold the used towels/washcloths and place them on the edge of the tub. True to form, I did just that. I made both beds, tidied the bathroom, emptied the trash cans into the bag that the food we ordered had come in for dinner the night before and even placed the remote back on the TV. I inspected the room before we left to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything, turned off the lights and shut the door, making sure it locked behind me. I have now sent 3 emails back requesting pictures of the "trashed room" because you know in this day and age, someone took pictures. No response. I have not called them because I don't trust myself to not get angry or rude with them. I also want a papertrail. I am not sure how to handle this because this is a case of "he said/ she said". It's not that $250 is going to break me but I feel totally violated and it's very shady business. I had planned to use them again next year and was even planning a family vacation there for several days, reserving several rooms.... NOT NOW!! It would crack me up if it weren't so ridiculous. We are 2 older ladies (55 & 56), hardly party animals. I was so exhausted from all the walking I had done that day and my sister was tired from working all day and then traveling to the hotel, we were both in bed by 8:30pm. So why am I telling you this, because BEWARE!! Obviously your credit card can be charged for anything after you check out. It's sad that no one will show me any "proof" that I damaged the room and can charge you for anything they dream up. I feel like the next time I stay in a hotel, I am going to have to ask for someone working the desk to come to my room and do an inspection before I leave and give me something in writing that says the room is acceptable. read more

A good find though it could use some updating as to furnishings. I am not sure if this was always a hotel or converted apartments. The location was great and the staff outstanding. We had been delayed on our connecting flight and eventually it was cancelled. We had booked for 2 nights at Sonesta so I called and the front desk was only too glad to help us out and changed our reservation to one night, even though it was short notice, at the same rate. The night clerk (sorry I can't remember his name- we checked in on 8/11) was very accommodating and helped us with directions, info, etc) deserves a shout-out for his assistance. The room and bathroom were spotless but the main area a little small. We had a king bed which took up a good portion of the room. There was a small couch and TV area. The Wi-Fi was spotty. The hotel gets 5 stars for convenience. You were 10 minutes, at most from the Rosslyn Metro and within walking distance of many restaurants and facilities. Loads of high rise hotels and apartments in this area as evidence by the mass numbers of people taking their dogs out for walks. Parking underground was a little creepy but worth the extra cost and convenience. Overall, a great value and nice find. read more
