Great staff, fast checkin to the room and everything was clean and the room was spacious. Nothing to complain about when the bed is like sleeping in clouds.

Marriotts get most of their basics right and that's what keeps their engine running. We got a room reserved through Hotels.com just on the day of reservation and so glad we did that ahead of time. It was the Cherry blossoms weekend at the DC and they got all their 400 rooms fully booked for the night, from what we learnt from the receptionist. The hotel is enormous and has ample parking spaces on front of their entrance and also on the rear side. The good part is that the cars are secure as you need your room ID to enter and exit though the gates. Checkin and checkout were a breeze and the room was tidy and well kept. The common gym room was super spacious and well maintained. I rate this place a star less for we had issues with the design of the sinks inside the bathrooms. It had no depth that you need to be careful to even gargle water and spit into it as it may spray back right at you.

Quick weekend stay and I was actually surprised how close this location is to Tyson's Mall! Gas stations and restaurants close by as well. On one hand: Beautiful hotel that has a great lobby/bar area. Upon arrival there were many just hanging out; quite inviting. They honored our request of being on a high floor (15th), though we did end up with the handicapped accessible room. Asked for a different one but none were available. Nice staff. Nice gym with bright lights that was well kept along with their guest bathrooms. They even have washer and dryers for guest that I believe are free. Retractable curtains with a push of a button! On the other hand: No free breakfast (I found out the hard way). No pool. Parking is around $10 a day & only accessible via room key.

This was just ok. The room was tiny, but ok. The AC was not working. It was either cold or hot. It was terrible for sleeping. The doors are not sealed, so at night, plenty of light comes in, which does not give a feeling of security. The WiFi is the worst with Marriott. You have to pay for it or become a member. So, I became a member, but the WiFi is still not working. This is the third Marriott I'm staying at within 2 months and every time, it's the same issue with the internet. We're living in 2022, please get your WiFi fixed. There was a fridge in the room, which was nice to have. Staff was a little grumpy.

I was here for a week. While I was here, for the most part, the staff went above and beyond. The restaurant/bar had good food. The gym was phenomenal and even had Peloton. The Concierge Lounge is open 24/7 and is a nice touch if you are able to have access to it. If you are planning to go into DC, you are about 30 minutes away with no traffic. This is a business hotel as it is busy through the week and pretty dead on the weekend as compared to the weekdays. So although this is an ideal hotel, if you want to go to DC, I would stay in DC If I had to give it a negative, the rooms were smaller than what I am used to.

It was okay. Maybe not to the Marriott standards of other Marriott hotels, but it served its purpose. Unlike most hotels, you had to walk through the room, past the bed to get to the closet and bathroom. I found that a little unusual. Also, I posted photos of the glass tabletops and desk counter top that did not align properly. We had to hunt for the hair dryer because there was not a shelf or anywhere else in the bathroom to store it. Upon check-in, we were offered a voucher for breakfast or points because the concierge desk is closed on weekends. We took the voucher and good thing ~ prices are comparable to NYC ~ YIKES!! Did not see that coming. They do offer a shuttle service within 2 miles. Hey, it got us to the mall and back.

Sleeping by yourself can be lonely so why not share a bed with a bed bug!
    Roman K.

Two words: bed bugs. I checked into room 509 and shortly before going to bed, I noticed a bed bug crawl across the pillow next to me. Naturally, I did as any person would do and freaked out and immediately grabbed my stuff and told the front desk (I brought the bedbug with me as proof downstairs). Front desk was apologetic but not really helpful. No one could tell me how I would be reimbursed nor did anyone volunteer to find me alternative accommodations (this happened at 11:30 PM). I got in contact with a corporate person who was very quick to tell me that there was no infestation. I asked if I'd be reimbursed for my luggage which I tossed when I got home (dried my clothes on high heat as a precaution). It was just $65. She tried to offer me $30 due to "depreciation". I quickly realized that Marriott doesn't seem to take ownership for poor experiences so just called it a day at $50. They didn't even offer a free night or points to make it up to me. Will never stay at this location again, simply because I have dealt with bed bugs before and they are ruthless. Bed bugs are not a sign of negligence - they do not discriminate. If you invite them into your home, they will stay there, rent-free, and are very hard to evict. It was disappointing to not get more support during this time either from the hotel staff or from the corporate customer service. Bonus: picture of bed bug attached.

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents - although, this isn't entirely based on hearsay…read morebecause I have stayed in this hotel a few times myself. As a family, we adore this particular Ritz Carlton in Tyson's Corner. It's probably our favorite hotel collectively - you can't beat the amenities, the service, the staff, and the location. My parents have consistently gone back to this hotel for a yearly weekend getaway consistently for nearly 20 years, continuing to choose that hotel despite the ever-changing landscape due to COVID. Therefore, it is with great disappointment that I write this negative review about this hotel because it has truly served us well over the years. My parents booked a weekend trip from November 14th through the 17th in celebration of my mom's birthday. Unfortunately, my mother came down with COVID-pnemonia that week, showing symptoms on the evening of Monday Nov. 12th with an official diagnosis by the evening of Tuesday Nov. 13th. Realizing that they could not travel under such conditions, my father canceled the booking for their weekend trip via the website on Wednesday, Nov. 14th. While he was able to cancel the trip, the company withheld a 500 dollar, non-refundable charge because it was 'not within the three day limit' as stated on their website. Now the problem here is this - what constitutes as three days? Are we talking a full 36 hours here or are we talking three days as counting by fingers? Because the trip was canceled Wednesday morning with a 4pm Friday arrival - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are three days. I hate to cherrypick the Bible (although it is common practice these days), but if we're going by Jesus' rules, he died on a Friday afternoon and was resurrected on a Sunday morning, and it constitutes as three days by church law - but apparently, this timeline is not good enough for the Ritz Carlton. Believing this was unfair, my father called the hotel themselves and explained the situation - they are longtime customers, my mom was nearly hospitalized due to Covid, they had a doctor's note as proof, is there anything they could do to lessen this exorbitant cancellation fee? The staff's answer was essentially "apologies, but no." The staff said my father should have called the hotel directly instead of canceling it online and they could have done more for them, and that it actually wasn't three days but more like two and a half, and the charge would unfortunately stay. Now, we understand that hotels are subject to inflation and economic woes due to the state of the world, and some sort of penalty due to the cancellation is understandable - but let's look at the facts here. My mother was diagnosed with a highly contagious virus, and they did the right thing by canceling their trip a few days before as opposed to risking several people in the hotel. This was not a morning-of cancellation - this was a cancellation on Wednesday for a trip that technically wouldn't begin until check-in time at 4pm on Friday. Was there absolutely nothing the management staff could have done to rectify or soften this blow? If removing the fee was out of the question, there are other things the management could have done instead of saying "sorry, not sorry" about the 500 dollar charge. They could have offered a voucher, or a credit for rebooking a different weekend, or offered free dinner at one of their restaurants - something to make up for this loss. My parents would have accepted any of these things - because really, THEY are the ones missing out here - no trip, a terrible illness, and out 500 dollars because they did the right thing by canceling. To me, this is just poor business practice. It is important to reward loyal customers, and the Ritz-Carlton is supposed to be the height of luxury - and yet, apparently the 500 dollars is more important than maintaining a 20-year long relationship. It's truly disappointing. The irony is that the Ritz Carlton has a '$2000 rule' to make guests happy, but apparently they need my parents' 500 dollars in order to make this golden rule work for other customers.

We were on our way to a wedding in Potomac, MD on Sunday, and the closest hotels were in Tysons Corner VA or Bethesda MD. We selected this hotel primarily because it's an IHG hotel (where we have platinum membership in its reward program), its location, and very good review profile. This hotel offers apartment-style hotel suites with full kitchens, free wifi, and 42" HDTVs, and includes a free breakfast buffet. The website indicates that the hotel also offers 24/7 laundry, a fitness room, and seasonal pool but, while useful, we didn't use any of these. We were very pleased with our selection. The hotel was beautifully appointed and spotless, and it was clear that thought had gone into providing what travelers were most likely need. Our suite was huge, with two separate areas. One side included the sleeping area and the bathroom, while the other side was the kitchen and sitting area with TV. (Note that there are different room types. Our daughter and SIL said that their room was smaller). Check-in was effortless, with everything already ready upon our arrival. The check-in receptionist was friendly, and offered good recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast buffet offered many hot and other choices, including scrambled eggs, sausages, diced sweet potatoes, hot waffles, oatmeal, breads/bagels/scones, fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges), and beverages (coffee, tea, juices). Foods were replenished regularly, except for the orange and pineapple juices (both of which dispensed only water). The neighborhood is urban, but the hotel is quiet and offers parking ($). There are walkable restaurants nearby. Our rating for this hotel would actually be 4.5 but a round-up to 5.0 seemed more appropriate than a downgrade. A few small things, the first two of which are related to communication. (1) we were surprised by our final bill which included a $10 charge for parking. While we were asked at check-in whether we needed a parking pass, it was never mentioned, and should have been, that there was a charge for that parking.
