I had never been to a hotel for a wedding before but I had to take the time to come and highlight Double Tree for giving our bride and groom a GREAT 10-year vow renewal ceremony. The staff did an amazing job, including the bartenders too! Being in the Tysons area during a holiday season, I was not so sure of how employed places might be, or how active those "few" bodies might be but there was no thought in my mind of any negativity while present. Our party enjoyed the entire night, and I know a lot of the family reserved hotels for that evening and I was told that they enjoyed it as well - your average hotel stay, gym access, continental breakfast in the morning hotel standard. I really wanted to like this hotel better than the one next door, where we usually stay. It ended up being a mixed bag. Overall it was a positive experience and I would stay here again. Pros: - upscale/elegant feel - did not have to park in parking garage -bar and two restaurants -room does not feel dated -biggest "market" area I've ever seen at a hotel, like a mini convenience store -I appreciated having a full-sized pump body lotion in the bathroom -turndown service from housekeeper - not sure if this is standard or we were just lucky - warm cookie at check-in! Cons: - restaurant with a bar felt dark and cave like. House wine not good - when breakfast restaurant asked about gluten free options they only pointed out gluten free bread. We asked if hot options were prepared separate from areas where foods with gluten are prepared and were told they were but did not have confidence in this answer (chose to eat elsewhere). Buffet ($20) is only option. -had to walk a long way from lobby/entrance to get to our room -usually when there are three bottles installed in the shower you have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Ours had two shampoos and a conditioner. Not sure if this is protocol or was just our room. There was bar soap. -HVAC unit very noisy. I'm not talking about the "hum"/motor. I'm talking about sudden rattling noises that would happen at infrequent intervals along with sudden noises that sounded like plastic breaking or the noise a plastic water bottle makes when it is expanding/retracting. For a quick overnight business stay here, It was great. Room was clean. Sufficient amount of towels were provided. Spacious deluxe king room with sofa bed. Customer service was professional, but not personal. It was definitely lack of the personal touch to it. Good choice of the shower, shampoo, and conditioner brand. The highlight was the largest selection of the snack shop with serve yourself Starbucks cold brew and hot tea and coffee station. Convenient location, located right across from the Tyson mall and many selections of restaurants and private parking lot. Definitely recommend. read more

We stayed at the Doubletree while visiting family in the Tysons area over the weekend. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. Just a heads up, the walk from the front desk to the room elevators is a bit of a walk. There is a nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. read more

Mixed experience. I liked that I could check-in with the app, skip the line, and head straight up to the room. Room is small and well-appointed, but without good soundproofing. HVAC is loud. Bathroom is small and doesn't have an exhaust fan. We are a family of four, but we're only provided with 3 bath towels. I called the front desk and waited. After 20 minutes no one had come up, so I went down and got one from the front desk. Location is good if you're working nearby. If is somewhat walkable to shops and restaurants if you're willing to cross some busy roads. Overall I'm not sure if I would stay again. read more

Came here for an event instead of a hotel stay. They provided a few standing signs to lead us to the ballroom on the second floor, which located on the right side from the lobby. There was also an entrance from outside directly to the second floor. We received multiple warm greetings while walking inside the hotel. There was a restaurant opened only for breakfast on the side of the ballroom. The other restaurant Tysons Social Tavern located on the ground floor opened 3pm to midnight every day. read more

In pinch, this place was alright! I booked this place on a recent work trip and was decently happy. I slept well, everything was comfortable, breakfast was decent, and they had espresso in the morning when I woke up. I would rate it a bit lower because the room was pretty sparse, there was nothing really to watch on TV, it's not centrally located to anything, and the after-hours staff was a bit rude. Overall, for a hotel used as a place to lay your head it's good, but look elsewhere if looking for a hotel when traveling to the Washington area for pleasure. read more

Everyone was super nice, excellent service and they gave treats to puppette. Parking spaces need to be redone - ENTIRELY too narrow. There's no way to avoid hitting other cars while opening a door. If the hotel had been fuller, there would have DEFINITELY been more door dings. It's enough to make me not wanna come back. read more

I attended an event here and did not stay in a hotel room. The ballroom space seemed nice and spacious for our event. The decor, staff, and food were fine - about what one would expect for a nice DoubleTree hotel - definitely a step higher than most DoubleTrees and I think thats because its in Tysons Corner. The style and decor of the lobby and cafe was nice and clean. They had garage parking for our event and attendants to help direct traffic so that was nice. Not sure if that was the event planner or the hotel who set that up for the holiday party. All in all a nice property - I wish I stayed overnight so I could give a review of the actual sleeping rooms. read more

Update: Some of the staff members are nicer than others. It depends on who's working that day. The breakfast restaurant staff is slow but much more coordinated than the evening staff. ------ Hotel is a bit outdated. The room phones aren't user friendly. No speaker phone. TV Remote doesn't light up in the dark like at other Hilton's in the area. Front desk watches carefully as you shop in convenience store, which makes you feel uncomfortable while shopping. The halls are very long and you have to navigate through a long hallway to reach elevators for the higher floors. The rooms don't have much natural light, which makes u feel confined. Front desk was also eager to help others behind me first when I asked to change my reservation for next week. She told me to call from the room, and she couldn't even help me when I called. She transferred me to the general hilton number to input my company discount code. read more

Maintenance and cleaning issues. Have stayed here 4 times over the last 2 months for work and these were my issues. 1) Three maintenance calls for the same things. Frosted over fridge that freezes everything and a very noisy ac. Chief Engineer told front desk manager everything was fine. 2) Housekeeping: I requested service today after 3 days at the hotel. They left me a dirty towel, didn't clean off the counters or microwave. Looks like all they did was make the bed, take the trash. 3) Hotel Bar/Restaurant Manager allowed patrons to smoke cigars on the patio at a non smoking hotel with no smoking signs prevalent. When I asked him about it he said, "I told them they could". When I called the front desk, manager, she said smoking is not allowed and I haven't seen it happening since then. Hilton is usually better than this. But, 4 stays and several issues later, tells me there are systemic management issues at this one. read more

I enjoyed my stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Mclean Tysons. The rooms: My room was clean, had the essentials and noise was not really an issue. The beds were comfy, plenty of pillows, extra linens and such. Service: The staff was friendly, a little bit slow but nothing too crazy. They held my bag for me for a few hours after I checked out which was nice. The shuttle service is super convenient and took me to nearby places. That's really nice on their behalf. There is a small tavern downstairs that serves drinks/appetizers. Also a small convenience shop by the lobby for small bites/snacks. Overall, my stay was pleasant and I'd return. read more

We stayed here this past weekend for a soccer tournament. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. The hotel seem nice. I know a number of my fellow team parents had problems at check-in. A lost reservation that took forever to correct. An extra night on a reservation that needed to be emailed because the front desk couldn't take care of it? But my check-in went smoothly. And I LOVED the cookies. I ran into a problem when we were getting ready for bed and my son is adjusting his pillow in an attempt to get comfortable. I see something on the pillow and tell him NOT to put his head down on the pillow. I take a closer look and it was blood! DROPS OF BLOOD ON THE PILLOW!! I pull the two of them off the bed and start pulling and checking all the bedding. The rest of the bedding seems fine but we were pretty "skeeved" out. I call the front desk and tell them what happened. They say someone will be up right away with a pillow replacement AND to take the bloody pillow away. I waited and waited and NO ONE EVER SHOWED. I couldn't believe it. Housekeeping did replace the pillow the following day but clearly, the management at this hotel does not feel that dirty bedding with a previous guests' bodily fluids is something that needs to be addressed in a timely manner. This is a surprisingly good hotel bar. Jon is an amazing bartender, and I really enjoy staying here every time I come for work. Everybody is cool in general, and when I show up after a long drive, it's really nice to encounter a friendly face and have a drink to wind down. He runs a tight ship. Makes sure his patrons are taken care of and makes sure his folks are taking care of the people in the rest of the restaurant. Probably one of the best parts of every trip I take up here. read more

Well this was unexpected.... First thing's first.... THE COOKIE!! when you check into DT, you are given a huge warm walnut and chocolate chip cookie that will make any bad day immediately turn to rainbows and hearts! I kid you not. Staff The staff was friendly and very helpful. They went above and beyond to fulfill every request and then some. I even got an upgrade....without asking. Rooms I expected a good room but i certainly didnt expect modern and comfy. I've never stayed at a DR before but I'll certainly make an exception to this one. The room was equipped with 2 robes, slippers, Evelyn and Crabtree toiletries and much more. Food. Room service food came from the Omalleys Pub which is next door to the restaurant. I ordered the blackened Alaskan salmon with Broccollini and rice du jour. Let me start out by saying, it was smart for the hotel to outsource this aspect of the business to someone else. At the same time, someone needs to give Omalley constructive criticism on the flavor of their food. If Rice du Jour is what they call bland tasteless rice then Rice du Jour it is!!! The Salmon was a bit too overcooked for my liking but it was seasoned well. I wasn't impressed with the Broccollini either. Normal broccoli would have been better. read more

Absolutely horrible in handling its own billing error. The staff is powerless to assist customer and manager will not call back despite multiple message. The hotel billed me a no show when I did show up early in the morning because I was traveling a red eye and I did add a note in my reservation note. There is absolutely no ownership nor responsiveness in address customer invoice issue. I cannot even understand why is it so difficult to correct the billing. Now I am unable to get this hotel night reimbursed by my company. I am not surprise this hotel has a 3 star rating. It should be lower and changes must be made to empower the staff to assist customers. read more

I gave two stars because the room was nice but small and delicious double tree cookies but the front desk wasn't very friendly at all I called for towels 2 and even went down stair and ask them and still did not receive any towels. I just stuck it out with what I had .. The gentlemen who checked me in was too lazy to adjust the the check-in date since it was after 2 am when I arrived so he offer'd me an early check in and offer'd me a check out of the next day. Only too go and charge my card for an additional night. SCAM and Sue the assistant manager is so unprofessional its not even funny what a circus this place is. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Not once did they empty the garbage or clean the bathroom. Towels, soap, and TP are only replaced if you go to front desk and request them. Terrible Experience. The hotel staff was rude, with the exception of a few. Very unprofessional regarding billing, especially when asking questions about the break down of charges. They would get very aggravated and irritable whenever I would ask why I had random payments on my card from the hotel (Still trying to figure out what those were for by the way). I had an extended stay there and wish I had another option as far as lodging because I would have left immediately. Oh and no On-Demand movies so you watch what is on, and no microwave. Also, when we called for a extra blanket we were brought a sheet so I called down to have it corrected and I was brought 2 more sheets. I've never felt hotel struggles like I have in my first few night here. Upon checking in for my two week stay here, my room wasn't ready and I was offered a cheaper room for my stay. That is really strike one. Upon getting to my room, I popped on the Tv and it was broken to the point where you could only see half of a screen. I went down to the front desk and a technician came up to tell me it was indeed broken. I was told maybe get a different room. Real classy response. Eventually my tv was swapped out. My next day I went to laundry on the 1 crappy washer and dryer here and of course they don't have quarters at the hotel to give to you to do them. Why would they? Lame! To add to this I was stuck in an elevator for about 45 seconds. Yeah it's not bad but I sure won't take that elevator again. I think I got lucky it started back up. Tonight I get to my room to find my room cleaned and my remote gone for the tv. Who takes a freaking remote??? So I get dressed to get another and sure enough it doesn't work. #ConsultantLife has me on the road again, and this time to the suburbs of DC! This hotel is outside of my normal Marriott travels, but it was close to my office, and the pictures looked really nice. I was a bit afraid when I got into the lobby because it's a bit dated, and the hotel is a bit disjointed, but my room was exactly as promised from the photos on the website. I got a king room, that also included a sofa. The TV was updated, and I had LOTS of channels......even paid movie channels! Anyone who frequents hotels knows that you might get 20 channels, with half of those being some version ESPN. Shout out to Hilton for having a FULL CHANNEL LINE UP, with lots of options for everyone. Marriott should definitely take note. Anywhoo, my bathroom was also spacious, and super clean. I could tell the rooms have been recently renovated, and they are being well-maintained. I ate in the hotel restaurant, and the food was really good. And not just good for hotel food, but good as in I would go there if it was a stand-alone establishment. I had the Salmon, deviled eggs, and a vegetable. All really, really good. This hotel is directly across from Tysons Center (I & II). The walk from the mall to the hotel was about 13 mins in total.....the biggest effort is actually finding a pedestrian exit from the mall! LOL. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property, and when I'm in the area again, I'll keep it on my list. read more

I called at 10:00 AM today to make a reservation for tonight. When we got here the person at the front desk told us that our reservation was for yesterday and we missed it. I asked him to look at when the reservation was created, but he wouldn't. His attitude was that we missed our reservation and we could still get a room, but we would have to pay for it (the room was supposed to be fully paid for with our Hilton Honors points). I asked how we could still get a room and have it paid for with our points and he said I had to call Hilton Honors. I called them, and once the new reservation was booked I talked to a different guy at the front desk. Eduardo was very helpful, looked into when the old reservation was created, saw that it was created today, and got us into the room we wanted in no time. The first guy was trying to push us into a smaller room. Overall, not a very enjoyable experience - we were standing in the lobby with our dog for about an hour - but at least Eduardo was able to help us out and be helpful and understanding. Edit: We ended up needing to stay an extra night. Chantaya was very helpful and was kind enough to let me know that if I called Hilton Honors to book another one night stay (as opposed to extending our stay) that I'd save money, and she was correct. She was very nice and friendly even though she had a bunch of people waiting and trying to get her attention for one thing or another. I've amended my rating to reflect the overall experience of staying here. In regards to the two restaurants that are in the hotel: We ate at the Irish pub both nights (and also ordered room service from it) because the steakhouse in the hotel seemed pricey. The Irish pub was slightly expensive for the kind of food they were serving. The food was consistently subpar, but the staff was awesome. We didn't complain about the quality of the food, because it was OK and we're not the type to complain, but the bartender that was working the first night we ate there was kind enough to comp our appetizer because it took so long to arrive that we were halfway through the entrees before the mussels arrived. All of the food was slightly overcooked and the reuben sandwich we ordered didn't have any sauerkraut on it at all - just rye bread, a tiny smearing of 1000 island, and slightly dry, overcooked corned beef. The food wasn't terrible - we ate it all - but if you're looking for something more than just convenience I would suggest maybe trying the steak house or one of the other local restaurants; we had breakfast st Cafe Deluxe across the street and it was fantastic. The hotel itself is very nice. The pool and exercise room were definitely better than your average hotel and the rooms looked awesome. The location is also incredibly convenient to anywhere you might be traveling. I hope this review is helpful to someone and I hope you have a great stay. read more

Horrible! Misleading! Overpriced! Driving through this area and decided to find a place to get a good meal, a drink, and sleep. Doubletrees are usually very nice and have it all. Well not this one! Paid almost $400 for a standard king room. It was over 80 degrees when I arrived at 9pm in the room. I decided to go have dinner and a drink well think again. The bar and restaurant were under renovation so a make shift one was set up in a conference room. So much for catching a game and relaxing. The food was ok but the entire hotel was backed up and slow due to the construction. On top of it a kids group was also at the hotel and due to lack of facilities eating in wet bathing suits in the hallways. They also ate all the cookies. For this price and extremely poor conditions I think a motel 8 would have been a tenth of the cost and more comfortable. Wish they had posted on the website the construction and when I asked why they didn't they said they forgot and are working to get it updated. Construction was in January and it's March read more

Disappointing. After traveling I staid here for a conference overnight and although it was recommended for the great location and nice staff, my room had a number of problems. I had asked for a quiet room but couldn't sleep due to these issues and would not recommend staying there again. My room had a leaking/dripping bathroom sink, the light and alarm clock near the bed weren't working and the AC unit was making a "loud clinking/banging sound" so a number of repairs were clearly needed. I was also notified that the hotel was completely booked so gave up trying to pack again and move to another room. I reported all the maintenance problems to the front desk - they thanked me and gave me a free water bottle for my trip home. Overall not a well maintained/reliable place to stay. read more
