The burgers are lean and juicy, the fries are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Oh BOY - what a burger! Stopped when a craving hit as we were passing through Oceanside. Fresh cooked , hand formed - THICK - burger with a beach vibe and friendly service. Lots of choices for interesting burger combos, but you can also "make it your way" if you prefer. I went for bacon blue cheese, hubs classic American cheeseburger. Perfect! Very soft and tasty bun and crispy - not thick - French fries made hubby happy. We also tried the mac and cheese which was fresh made of butter, melted cheese and just a hint of garlic. Yum! First time visiting Ty's and it won't be our last. Best burgers in town . The blue cheese bacon burger is absolutely amazing! The fries, onion rings and even the classic burger were all so comforting and delicious . I have no idea why we haven't come here before. Please, please bring all your friends and family here before the O'side High game, before or after the afternoon farmers market or Sunset Market, NBA playoffs, soccer games, football season, bring visiting family members, friends, a date night, after work social, lunch meeting just come here you won't be disappointed . Not only do they have burgers, they have veggie burgers, chicken breast, wraps, tacos, salads, sandwiches, sodas and beer. Ty's Burgers is a great Oceanside staple. Visited here for the first time a couple of days ago and really enjoyed my lunch. I had perhaps the best Western Bacon Cheeseburger I've ever eaten. Ty's brought all the usual ingredients that come in that burger but did it better than other places. First off, the Angus beef patty was moist and not overdone. Next, the Haystack onions, Pepper Jack cheese, and Applewood bacon were all prepared really well. Lastly, they did not skimp on the BBQ sauce, which had a nice tangy flavor to it. I ordered some sweet potato fries to go with it, and I felt those might have been slightly overcooked. I'll probably go with regular French fries next time. Inside the place, the tables and the floor were kept nice and clean. Besides the indoor seating, they offered outdoor seating in the front as well as a nice shaded area in the back. They have beer on tap, so definitely a nice place to enjoy a meal at lunch or dinner. read more

Wow, what a burger. We stopped into this small burger and beer spot on mission for lunch. The menu was nice, burgers, salads, and wraps. Nice selection of craft beer as well. I had the western bacon cheese burger. Delicious. Wife had the teriyaki chicken sandwich and she loved it. We shared the trio basket. Fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings all in one. We sat in the patio today. It was a fantastic day. You have to go in to order the burgers, and they will give you a number, and they will deliver the burgers to you. Even though we were on the patio, they came out to check on us regularly. They also cleaned the patio table upon request. The patio tables were utilitarian stainless steel tables and chairs. I'm going to say it's utilitarian, but it works. Ty's burgers don't look like much to begin with. But omg, the food is fantastic. The best burgers handsdown I've ever eaten in oceanside since we've moved here to date. My hubby ordered a western bacon cheese burger, and I ordered a teriyaki chicken burger with no onions. And a basket of the trio, which is a basket of fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Best decision ever to come eat here. I was having an allergy attack. After my first bite, I declared myself free of allergies. Lol, it was that good for me. My chicken was succulent and not overly sweet! I love it. We will be back again and again. read more

First time here and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone that is in the mood for a burger that's not $20 and isn't fast food. The patio on Mission is fairly noisy with the cars right there, but it's not bad and there's seating inside or a quiet, green back patio. I ordered the veggie burger which was DELICIOUS and made in-house with a variety of veggies, mushrooms, and no dumb fillers like quinoa or potato. Honestly, this place is pretty fantastic, but they miss one crucial element. The burgers are cooked beyond well done and very very dry. Maybe it's my fault for not asking, but when a place specializes in fresh burgers, I don't expect them to cook them beyond medium well. Well, I was wrong. And not enough blue cheese on the blue cheese burger. Beer is good. Staff is friendly. Great patio. But won't be coming back. read more

Super solid burgers all around today. I had the bacon and blue burger that was loaded with bacon and blue cheese. The patty itself was pretty thick and had great flavor. I would have preferred to have it cooked med- rare, but I wasn't asked, and I didn't think to ask. The sweet potato fries were hot and tasty. The place was very clean and the gentleman working there was very nice. Bonus, they do a military discount also. They have several beers on tap and a couple of arcade pinball type games. They do have an outdoor seating area outback that looked nice. We got our food to go, and it still held up after the ten min drive home. Parking can be tricky in the area, so bring your walking shoes just in case. Prices were pretty decent given the quality and location. read more

The Kobe burger was definitely five stars- the blue cheese burger more like 4 stars- so definitely get the Kobe!! Lots of burger options to try here, looking forward to coming back & trying their lamb burger! Ambiance is nothing spectacular but they do have indoor seating & two outdoor seating options, one at the front & another in the back. Service was good, you order at the front desk & then they bring you your entree's. Everyone was nice & as I mentioned the Kobe was a burger I'd return for- maybe the best one I've found in North County SD. Awesome burgers! I would recommend a couple of changes, though. Way too much sauce as half of it ends up in the tray. The front staff could be more pleasant to interact with. I would also find a way to let traffick know you serve beer. And finally, clean the bathroom often. Nothing cures an appetite faster than nasty. I stll give 4* for potential. These are very good burgers. They are very large and well-seasoned, and have good, firm buns (like yours truly, see my profile pic) and quality ingredients. The only bummer was our burgers were overcooked. You overcook a burger, you lose the juiciness. But otherwise, they were very good. The California burger with guac and fries is excellent. The bacon and blue cheese burger is also very good. You can't miss with that combo of flavors but I think I preferred the California burger. Would I return? Of course! There is a lot of flavor in these burgers. I can even overlook all of the USC paraphernalia inside. Hey, no one's perfect. Free street parking all around but you might have to hunt a little bit during busier times. Seating inside and they have both a front and back patio. Speaking of busier times, be prepared to wait a little for your food during dinner hours. Patience is a virtue. read more

Ty's is located right on Mission, easy to find. I stopped in last night. There were a few people in line but plenty of people seated inside, out front, and nobody was out back so we could seat all 11 in our party. The person taking the order was super friendly, patient, and helpful. Plenty of options on the menu for burgers and even a turkey burger, some salads, different fry options, onion rings, etc. No desserts though. I went with the mac and cheese burger and sweet potato fries. Yum it tasted great. My only complaint would be the burger was a little overdone and they don't ask you how you want it. I like medium not medium well or well done. 7 of our 11 orders came out after 20-25 minutes, but they lost 1 ticket with 4 orders, and after another 30-35 minutes (about an hour total) the last 4 orders came out. I asked if they were going to do anything for the late order and they ended up giving us a substantial refund. That was a very nice gesture. I would definitely try Tys again and try some of the other options on the menu. read more

I thought I left a review. Oops. It's been months but I still remember how crazy huge these dishes are. I got garlicky Mac n cheese burger. That's two meals right there. Onion rings. Huge! Someone got fries or curly fries? I don't remember but they were yum! Salad was ok, but we could have just been super full from the rest. I barely ate half my burger, two onion rings and some fries and was super full. Service... so nice and helpful. We were a big group and sat outside. Kids played in fake turf area. Super hard flooring but kids totally didn't mind. Right at alley way but had an enclosed area. Looked fun in the space, cactus and pots and brick. Fun backdrop for a rad photo. Topped with sun dried tomatoes, provolone, and I subbed bell peppers for grilled onions. Very good. The sweet potato fries are excellent too. Love the service!
