I Went to eat lunch and ordered the chicken shawarma plate. The Portions were really large and rice and chicken was quite tender and flavourful. It is quite comparable to the other fast-food Shawarma joints in the malls and in Scarborough. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes. ATTENTION: Unsafe food handling + COVID19 I ordered a simple shawarma containing lettuce, onion, chicken, hummus and tahini. As I was eating my shawarma, I found a raw piece of chicken + chicken fat coated in blood. I am extremely disappointed in knowing how little care and attention went into preparing my chicken shawarma. Given the COVID19 situation I'd assumed that restaurants would use higher level of care and sanitization when preparing food, especially dealing with meat, but boy was I wrong. I feel so sick to the stomach! I would advise the restaurant to look into this issue and discuss this issue with their management and review the process for how they sanitize and handle food. I was all for supporting local businesses during COVID19 but I have learnt my lesson. I will not be ordering food from restaurants until we are clear of COVID19 situation. I will advise this to everyone reading this to not purchase food from restaurants( at least not this one!) because you can see how little attention is paid when handling meat. Stay safe! read more

What happened? Back in 2011/12 I was walking around my neighborhood and that's when I first saw Tybah's . I wasn't incredibly hungry but I had never had middle eastern food. I walked in, and obviously looking perplexed by the menu, an old lady who could barely speak English helped me with a pita wrap. She was also cooking and would offer me food as she cooked. That day before I got my wonderful pita she had helped to a serving of falafel, a grape leaf wrap and a small piece of a homemade wrapped still warm. That's also the day I learned they had a secret menu. The old lady makes homemade pitas and you can ask for them! I felt welcome. I felt like part of the inside in a way. It was awesome. I left full, pita in hand. For years I would go to this restaurant, leaving countless extra cash in tips for their generous offerings of chicken per serving and great service. I got to watch Through their many Renovations of first sitting in a small thin corridor where people who were ordering were literally on top on you while you ate (that's how small I was), to full tables and TVs, to the move down the street a couple numbers....and, well...now. Today, unfortunately Tybah's doesn't represent the warm restaurant I first walked into. From the change in staff/ malpractice of cleanliness of newer staff( ie:setting a plastic container that was on the greasy floor onto the serving rack to replace lettuce and other condiments, rags used for more than one thing, not changing gloves), practices and quality of things like tomatoes and onions left out for what seems to long. The last couple times I've literally got pickles, lettuce and sauce because the rest is trash. I wish I didn't have to write this review. I doubt I'll be back. read more

Probably won't be coming back here. The wraps are decent if they actually want to make them good. The problem with Tybah is they are not consistent. Osmows is a much better option. Shawarma 401 is even better than that. Can't see myself ever going back to Tybahs. Too many great options for middle eastern food around here. They need to step it up! read more

Wow - what a waste of time and money!!! We ordered from Tybah's through JustEat tonight for delivery. We ordered one of the family platters (as we were ordering dinner for four). 1. It took 1h40m for our food to arrive. We ordered at 6:40 and it didn't actually come until 8:20. 2. I called the store around 7:40 (an hour in) to check in on what was going on and first one lady answered.. she said her mom is still cooking the food. I was a bit concerned as this was an hour in and they had just started cooking it. I asked if it would take much longer.. if so then I'd like to cancel my order as we were all waiting on dinner. Then the mom got on the phone and started yelling at me, saying that they were extremely busy and everyone's orders were before mine so I would just have to wait. I told her that it's been an hour and if it's going to take a lot longer then I'd have to cancel as we need to make other arrangements. She told me it'd be 10-15 more minutes. It was 40 minutes. 3. We ordered the family platter. They sent the amount of meat skewers that they listed on the menu but they sent a tiny side container of rice and salad. For a family platter. 4. The meat was the ONLY fresh thing that they sent. The rice was old (I assume AT LEAST 3 days old) and even the salad was soggy. I get if the lettuce gets soggy from being in a hot bag, but the other vegetables shouldn't be. 5. We would have just been better off going and picking up a $5 Little Caesars Fresh n Ready pizza for the four of us to eat. read more

I really like their falafels. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, just like it should be. My only complaint is that they seem to run out of things quite often. 1 day they were out of fattoush, another day they were out of falafels! They also add alot of tahini to their hummus, making it quite runny. Edible but runny. They have a great oppurtunity being the ONLY falafel/shawarma place in the North end. I hope they get their act together so they stick around longer. Before they came to Oshawa, we had to go all the way to Scarborough for good sandwiches! read more

a month ago , my husband and I who are vegetarians and we just came into town from Quebec saw this place at a corner plaza almost missed it ! walked in 2 ladies an older one and a younger one were inside on a hot day It was not stinky meaty place and the older lady looked like she cooked stuff herself not order it from grocery store frozen section ! we ordered two flafel on brown pita or whole wheat after a while she offered a larger thinner homemade bread she made herself at the shop we said yes homemade bread !!! she reminded me of my old babushka (a great clean cook) she made a huge falafel the most delicious we have ever had and as a vegetarian i know I have tried many falafels in my life at different cities and countries we went back there again , and there was a younger gentleman working there , he put the homemade flafels we ordered on a regular whole wheat pita , but still delicious , still the ingredients too much and too fresh , still as delicious. we will go back if in durham area again and hungry. the only place for us .. still when that lady who looks like owner happens to be there we will demand her homemade freshly made larger thin pita bread as makes her delicious falafel and her fresh tasty topping much more delicious. and unique price was around &7 per flafel . read more

My fav late night craving. This place gives you a takeout container packed full of rice, potatoes, shawarma and sauces when you order the plate. It's always hot and always delish. The garlic sauce is addicting and half the time we end up ordering an extra side of it with pita to share. It's a small location but we've only ever gotten pickup or delivery. read more

I've had the chicken shawarma multiple times and it is excellent. I don't know what the deal is with their hot sauce but it's the best I've ever had at a shawarma place. Absolutely amazing shawarmas! I've been here three times and got the handmade bread everytime with a mixture of meats. The crackers and sauces make the shawarma flavourful and full of beautiful texture. Highly recommend stopping if your on your way in or out of Toronto! read more

The food is food but the manager doesn't wear gloves or a mask which really put me off, and the employees are pleasant but some of them don't fully wear a face mask(exposing their nose). Also the manager will go for a smoke outside, come back inside, won't wash his hands and then start cutting the meat. Absolutely ridiculous in times like these. read more

My usual falafel place was closed, so I took as shot on Tybah's after seeing a flyer around town. So disappointing. The falafel tasted burnt and was very bland underneath that. The pita was tiny and fell apart. The toppings were very plain (plain lettuce, not fattoush) and sparse. The service was mediocre; no hello when I walked in. After my favorite Shawarma place closed last year there was a real void in finding a great Shawarma in Oshawa. Well look no more Tybah's Kabab is the real deal! I travel to Ottawa very often for business and rave about Castle Shawarma, well this is on par with that awesome place! I love the chicken and beef mixed Shawarma, the chicken is lean and cooked to absolute perfection. The beef while usually very salty at other places is seasoned just right. Not salty at all! Combine that with a homemade garlic sauce and hot sauce, and the freshest ingredients, absolute heaven!! We need to support businesses like this a great place that I want to see last a long long time! read more

Horrible customer service. We ordered for delivery from this place and waited over a hour before they called back saying we don't know our own address and that their map indicates the place is in Bowmanville and not Courtice so there would be an additional delivery cost. This was after I was initially told the food would take 30-40 mins and settled on a delivery cost. When we googled our own address it indicated Courtice but still they refused to deliver unless we agreed on a higher delivery cost. At no point did they apologize for the mix up or delay. In addition the whole time I was on the phone with them about our address, the manager in the background was calling me a liar and being extremely ignorant but refused to speak to me directly on the phone. read more

I have yet to try the food as the last 2 times I attempted to order from this place, they didn't have Beef Shwarma or Chicken Shwarma. Find that strange since many reviews are stating they are the best or one of the best in town, you would think they would have lots on a Friday or Saturday night?? I accidentally found this amazing place that serves middle eastern cuisine in North Oshawa, next door to Trader Joe's. The shop is very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. I ordered a chicken shawarma dinner that came with big portions of rice, potatoes, salad, chicken (white meat), salad and a pita. They also included a big helping of garlic sauce, humus, and hot sauce. It was the best thing I have ever tasted. If you are ever in the area I definitely recommend you stop in for a taste. read more

This place is a dump!!!!! Dirty. The guy wore gloves while doing others things (handle cash, lifting boxes, touching everything around) and then wore the same gloves to handle my food. Totally makes wearing gloves pointless. The food was put into a Styrofoam container, as shawarma plates usually are, but then he put it in the MICROWAVE! For one, Styrofoam should never go in the microwave, and secondly, when I'm purchasing from a restaurant, I expect freshly made food. Not leftovers that need to be heated in the microwave. I also don't use microwaves EVER! The food was probably sitting there for a long time, and the lettuce was brown. I'm disgusted with this place. Unfortunately, I did pay and went home, but after thinking about what I just saw, I tossed it in the trash without tasting it. Didn't want to get sick! read more

Before the renovation this was the place to go to get shawarma plates, kababs, and falafel. Unfortunetly since the renovations the price has gone up and the new empoyees provide much smaller portions and burn the kababs. Sad to see such a great place turn. read more

Moved to the Shwa from Scarborough. Was lucky to find a place out here to grab shawarma plates! It threw me off the beef shawarma isn't on a spit but it's amazing anyways. Really enjoy the plates here, chicken could use a little more seasoning however, but the garlic and hot sauce help with that aspect. I'm so incredibly disappointed in this place. We've eaten here a few times and the food was great, but the first time we ordered delivery, it was a disaster! The food showed up missing it's usual container, and the rice and chicken were shoved into a small round box. Everything was slapped on the side, and it was missing a lot of the usual sides, such as the fattoush and the garlic potatoes. If I wanted chicken with rice, and salad in the side, I would have made that at home. The point of Shawarma is crispy chicken, rice, the potatoes, the DIFFERENT salads and sauces, all in one container. Not the bland, gross mess I received. When I called to complain, the person who answered the phone yelled at me to check the bag, made excuses that they were busy and ran out of items, then switched his story and told me that I had to specify which sides I wanted (when I was told 'it comes with everything') He then snapped at me that he was busy, he'd "deal with me later"!!! When I told him, there may not be a later, based on his customer service, he hung up on me!!! Definitely a horrible experience from what used to be a good restaurant. read more
