NGL, I'm someone who gets overwhelmed and gets tunnel vision. I'm a sheep following the shepherd-- in this case, if you throw your body & a menu in front of me, I'll easily walk in. I'd seen great reviews online about their namesake pintxos, but the menu had so many options and none that clicked with what I was looking for. I was hungry, so I sent it and ordered a few items from the classic tapas: the Squid in Ink Croquette and the Patatas Bravas. The croquette was incredible and so flavorful, while the Patatas Bravas were the complete opposite. The potatoes tasted bland and stale, and the sauce on top was just... meh. I hated how let down I was!! As I was finishing up my meal, I noticed a few people coming in and were sitting at the bar--not usually the most go-to spot when there are plenty of tables open. However, as soon as they sat down, they began grabbing items from the display. I went to check it out and lo and behold--PINTXOS!!! I asked my waiter, and he explained the process: pick what you want, enjoy and pay for what charge you grab at the end. And honestly? They looked and tasted so much better and were way more affordable than what I ordered!! Disappointed I spent so much money, but consider this a lesson for anyone reading!

The sangria was huge and way more than I needed. Definitely a size to share or if you plan on having a lot alone. I unfortunately did not drink it all because I would've been on my ass by then end of the glass and I had so much to go see in the city lol. The staff was super nice and accommodating. It's right in the heart or a touristy spot but still I found the food pretty fairly priced and great quality. I believe the tapas were 1,70€ each. A great deal in my opinion

Not a bad atmosphere but nothing special; quiet on a mid-afternoon during the week. Meh: Service was semi-welcoming to a solo traveler. No!: I was looking for a small glass of wine and the server sold me a sangria, which was the ONLY item with the price not published. The wine was all priced inexpensively, and the sangria was three times as much and only came in a HUGE goblet. I only drank about a third of it and it was strong! He completely ignored my request for "something small" and it felt like a game of Rip Off the Stupid Tourist. Ah well... ... I still enjoyed my tapas, but be aware that the sangria is large and pricier than everything else, which is fine if you want to party!

They take your drink order and you are given a plate. Everything is self serve by going up to the bar and grabbing the pinxtos that you want. Most of them have toothpicks which you save and the waiter counts them at the end. They are $2.95 euros each. I love this concept and the food! A lot of their pinxtos were served on a crostini. Everything at the bar was cold like smoked salmon, anchovies, pickled peppers, goat cheese, tartlets, etc. A waiter did come around once in a while with a hot offering of croquettes and a mini hamburger with caramelized onions. Love that they had hot and cold varieties to choose from. If you are interested in having a small snack or even eating a lot this is a great place to try a variety of bites. Everything was very fresh and delicious. This is my favorite restaurant I visited in Barcelona!

The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars
