Decent pintxos, good lunch, but not the most memorable spot…read more We stumbled into Txirimiri while wandering around El Born looking for a quick lunch. The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars

I didn't enjoy the service from the male on this evening, he seemed bothered by my questions. But the female was respectful and friendly. They also sell food off a menu but tapas might be best.

Party of four and we waited about 30 min. There is no menu here. You tell the waiters what you like to eat. Meats, seafood, veggies, tapas, which you lean more strongly towards, etc. The waiter will then make suggestions on what they think would be great for your table and the total quantity of food. - vermouth - had to get a few glasses and it was cheap and delicious - tomato bread - a staple in spain. probably our least favorite dish but objectively good. - iberico - amazing and melts in your mouth - fried shrimp and squid - perfectly and lightly fried - beef tartare - sold but didn't wow in any way - monk fish - so tender and well prepared. They show you the full fillet before portioning it for each diner - steak - so perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned - clams - good and fresh, but not the first thing that comes to mind as remarkable when I think about the meal Didn't see any prices. Just got a bill at the end and honestly, was about $40/person which I thought was reasonable for the amount of food we got, plus a couple rounds of vermouth. It also didn't seems scammy, like they'd try to oversell us on food, as the amount of food they recommended was perfect where we finished everything and were comfortably full.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing compared to the reputation. The restaurant was extremely crowded and the dining style felt a bit chaotic. Since there is no clear menu with transparent pricing, it was difficult to know exactly what we were ordering or how much everything would cost. It gave us the uncomfortable feeling that tourists could easily end up overpaying. As for the food, while the ingredients seemed fresh, many dishes were overly salty and lacked the balance and flavor we expected from such a famous restaurant. The server brought us Octupus, Patatas, tomato toast, Tuna Tarta, Barcalao and some spinich with beans. Considering the high prices, the overall quality simply did not match the hype. Maybe the restaurant was having an off night or perhaps the chef has changed, but based on our visit, we left feeling disappointed rather than impressed.

They take your drink order and you are given a plate. Everything is self serve by going up to the bar and grabbing the pinxtos that you want. Most of them have toothpicks which you save and the waiter counts them at the end. They are $2.95 euros each. I love this concept and the food! A lot of their pinxtos were served on a crostini. Everything at the bar was cold like smoked salmon, anchovies, pickled peppers, goat cheese, tartlets, etc. A waiter did come around once in a while with a hot offering of croquettes and a mini hamburger with caramelized onions. Love that they had hot and cold varieties to choose from. If you are interested in having a small snack or even eating a lot this is a great place to try a variety of bites. Everything was very fresh and delicious. This is my favorite restaurant I visited in Barcelona!
