This small restaurant is located near the Sagrada Familia. If it wasn't for my tour guide, I would not have noticed this small place. It's easy to walk past this location as there is nothing fancy and there are tons of other restaurants around, but the decor is very quaint, homey, and just makes you feel like you belong...even though I'm not from Spain. They have excellent choices and you pay by the stick. Such a great price and you get to explore different delicacies at your own comfort. They are big on cheese and meat over a crostini, but they also have some seafood flavors. I think they only accept cash here, but they also speak some english, so they can explain what each item is and are very patient and friendly towards all tourists. I was able to enjoy 3 different crostinis and a fried mussel. So delicious! I also had a sangria, which was more than I could have imagined. It was sweet, yet you could taste the wine. I don't usually care for Sangria because it always gave me a funny aftertaste, but this was not the case here. Check out this restaurant if you can! Whether you speak the language or not, they will give you excellent service, good food, and a friendly atmosphere to eat in...solo or with a group!

A bit disappointed of how there are 4 star review for this place. Location is great. After coming out of the tour, the restaurant is right there. Hot tapas come out from kitchen. No selection. From what I remembered there were chicken nuggets, 2 cod, dates wrapped with bacon, crab meat, chorizo and something else that made up 8 items together. Everything is put on a piece of bread. These are something that I can probably made myself at home and put on top of bread. Nothing special. The cold tapas were even worse. It was some cold cuts on breads too. The place is not too small, not too big. There is a space for a stroller to move around. This is important for me since I'm traveling with a toddler and it's hard to find a place that has the space for our baby. This place also has a high chair but it's literally just a chair that's high. Not belt or buckle. They do have a changing station in the bathroom also which is a plus. Not a lot of places have high chair nor changing station. So the 2 stars were for that.

Wonderful food from the Basque Country... a region renowned for its flavorful regional cuisine . The friendliness of its staff will amaze you as they proudly explain their regional specialties... Try their regional gassy white wine

Alright, my American brothers and sisters, if you are looking for a non-touristy Spanish tapas spot, this is IT. Fish, cured pork, sausage and more (don't miss the Spanish omelet one). If, for some reason, you aren't familiar with this awesome thing this that isn't a thing in the US, you just sit in the front (not the table service part) and grab what you want from the bar (all the stuff with tooth pics) and sit down - they are 1.50€ each and the beer and sangria is cheap too (they have a 1 liter of beer and 4 tapas for 12€ deal). If you can't tell, we LOVED this place. My favorite in Barcelona (which is tough). How is this not a thing in the USA?

Now, this place was a lot better than Babilonia. The place was not pretentious and the server was very helpful. You can order an assortment of tapas, which we did so we can taste more and we ordered mixed paella to compare the taste. The tapas were good ranging from crab to jalapeños and the mixed paella's rice was al dente and very flavorful. On another note, this place was a lot more affordable and the waiter was quite helpful.

My wife and I stumbled upon this spot a few days ago, on the 2nd day of our honeymoon. We've been back twice and are planning to go back tonight. It's two blocks away from out hotel (Hotel Sagrada Famila on Corsega) and had become our "last stop". The tapas are so much better than the normal touristy fare that you'll find at about 1000 places all around Barcelona. The tapas range from the expected (cured ham and cheese) to the unexpected (salted fish stuffed peppers) to the I'm still not sure what that was and I kinda don't really care (I think it was fried black pudding, and it was amazing). The price per tapa is 1,40€. You grab a plate, load it up and the owned charges by how many toothpicks are on your plate. There's an all you can eat price, but we haven't done that yet. Out bill for 12 tapas, 3 glasses of wine and a bottle of water came out to about 23€. What really blows us away is the owner and how much pride he takes in running a good restaurant. He's always moving making sure the place is clean, the tapas are fresh and the drinks are flowing. When my wife left a shopping bag of new boots at our table he put them behind the bar and had them waiting once we realized that we left them. We're still in the process of exploring this town and have been finding great places to eat all around the city. But our plan until we leave is to stop here every night for that last drink and snack.

The bar, where you pick your tapas

I tried this restaurant a few days ago about 8:45 pm and I'm glad I did! I fumbled through some basic spanish and was able to get what I needed and had a great selection of tapas. Opting for the buffet so I could try a bunch of things, each thing I had was delicious. When you walk in you can choose to sit at the bar (where the tapas are set out, you just grab a plate and pick what you'd like) or at one of the lower tables. I chose the bar and had a nice view of the TV which had a football game on and a view of the street to people watch as well. All in, for unlimited tapas and a beer was about €17. Definitely recommend this tapas bar - it was busy but not crowded and the service was nice and did their best to communicate with me as much as I tried to communicate with them. The food was awesome, too!

I'd seen great reviews online about their namesake pintxos, but the menu had so many options and none that clicked with what I was looking for. I was hungry, so I sent it and ordered a few items from the classic tapas: the Squid in Ink Croquette and the Patatas Bravas. The croquette was incredible and so flavorful, while the Patatas Bravas were the complete opposite. The potatoes tasted bland and stale, and the sauce on top was just... meh. I hated how let down I was!! As I was finishing up my meal, I noticed a few people coming in and were sitting at the bar--not usually the most go-to spot when there are plenty of tables open. However, as soon as they sat down, they began grabbing items from the display. I went to check it out and lo and behold--PINTXOS!!! I asked my waiter, and he explained the process: pick what you want, enjoy and pay for what charge you grab at the end. And honestly? They looked and tasted so much better and were way more affordable than what I ordered!! Disappointed I spent so much money, but consider this a lesson for anyone reading!

Everything at the bar was cold like smoked salmon, anchovies, pickled peppers, goat cheese, tartlets, etc. A waiter did come around once in a while with a hot offering of croquettes and a mini hamburger with caramelized onions. The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars
