I would not recommend this place to anyone. The service was terrible. The attitude they had was one that said "I can't be bothered by you" or "I don't want to be here" The food was bland, and without flavor. It did came out fast though. Things got super weird weird when we asked for the check and paid, the waiter kept asking stuff that did not make sense to us and kept asking about contributions. Yeah, don't go there. We visited Pepito while visiting Barcelona after a local person recommended it to us and we enjoyed our visit immensely. This place is close to all local attractions but it's a bit tacked away, which makes it a perfect spot for locals and not very known to tourists. The interior decor was stunning and the service was excellent. We enjoyed every dish we tried. We were a party of eight which meant we ordered a lot of food and tasted several different dishes. The ribeyes were amazing and my ceviche and raviolis were perfect. This place is very reasonably priced for the quality of food they serve. Swung in for an early lunch (1pm) and luckily we did because by 2pm the place was filled. The space is fancy and more upscale, and while I'd normally prefer more low key spots as a tourist, my group was borderline hangry and we can't have that. Staff were friendly and spoke Spanish and some French to my French colleague. In terms of food, it was more spanish and less tapas so no sharing dishes. We ordered: * Mushroom croquettes to share - I'm not a mushroom fan but these were fantastic. So rich in flavor and super creamy. * They're known for their meat dishes so look at the black section of their menu. * I ordered the Bass (I'm pregnant so there's a lot I can't have right now), but it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, I'd order this again even if I'm not pregnant. * Someone in my group ordered the salmon tartar and said it was good. * Most everyone ordered the Baked Picaton - baked chicken. You get a whole chicken that's about the size of a smaller cornish hen. They all raved about it. Otherwise they take card or cash, just make sure you call them over to pay as they won't come back to check on you otherwise like they do in the US. read more

Off the beaten path in Gracia and absolutely delicious. Think a warm and cozy yet elegant atmosphere. I came alone for lunch on a rainy day. Expect excellent, fine-dining service and food! I must have come at the perfect time because the restaurant was empty when I entered but was full before I left. Since I was dining alone, they allowed me to order smaller portions! This made me so happy! I started with their mushroom croquettes, then I had the scallop special, and finally the burger. Everything was delicious! From start to finish, my experience here was excellent. Every seat in the house offered beautiful scenery. I'm writing this review months after dining here and am still raving about the excellent service. I will be back and will definitely visit Pepito again! No doubt, I would recommend you do the same! Lovely spot with good food tucked in a quiet, unassuming alley street 1.5 blocks off Passeig de Gràcia. I visited after 9PM for dinner. Restaurant was almost completely full. AMBIANCE Cozy yet not cramped, lively, soft lighting, warm SERVICE Service was friendly, and about on par for what I've experienced in Barcelona. If they had been just a little more attentive, FOOD Artichoke chips A little too greasy and batter a bit too much for the small, light, artichoke pieces. A little unevenly salted, but overall pretty good. Vaca Vieja Galician Beef filet aged five years with truffled mashed potatoes was excellent! I ordered medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Beef was tender, seasoned nicely without overpowering the flavor of the aged beef. Truffled mash was, of course, delicious. That's pretty much a slam dunk side. It came with a little bit of grilled onion and roasted baby potatoes. These added just enough depth and texture variation. Cheesecake Basic cheesecake, but the fresh fruit and compote(?) took it up a level. It was a great way to finish the meal. read more

At first we thought the staff was very welcoming. Then things got a little weird there was a waiter in training and he didn't seem to understand us in Spanish or English and he brought us something from the kitchen we didn't order. The food and drinks really were mediocre. We won't be back. The waiter in training, He was kind but the person who was training him exhibited weird behavior at the end of the night. We asked for our check and he asked us if we wanted dessert which was okay. He was asking questions in a strange tone. He kept switching from English to Spanish ( we speak both languages and had not spoken to him in any language besides Spanish) and then pressured us into tipping them. Tipping is not a cultural norm in Spain and we think it's because he heard us speaking English and was like hmm I'll ask them to tip because of where they were from. The food was so good, we came back here about two nightsnlater! Our waiter remembered us instantly! Probably one of the more expensive restaurants that we went to that was pretty casual. We walked right in for lunch and got seated right away. It's definitely very nicely decorated. We ordered the black tagliatelle & lobster and the sandwich with ham and eggs. The tagliatelle was really good but the portion was pretty small. The sandwich was okay- it was a bit hard to eat because I think the bread was way too toasted so it kept breaking every time I bit it. The black rice dish with seafood was good in an average way and the steak tartare was not a favorite 3/10. The crème brûlée was like a 7/10. Some of the other food looked great though, maybe we ordered the wrong things? Kinda disappointed with this dinner. I visited Pepito this last week because some friends told me that it's a MUST! And to be honest, it was amazing. I tasted 2 starters, 2 main dishes and 1 dessert with my friend and I have to admit that everything was AMAZING. We ordered the Festival de Chips Vegetales (different kinds of home-made chips served with guacamole and babaganoush), Calamares (stuffed with saffron rice), a delicious Salmon Tartar and my favourite, a Sirloin steak with potatoes and mushrooms. I'm addicted to chocolate so we ordered the 5 Texturas de Chocolate (5 chocolate textures). I don't have words to describe it! In addition, the service was very nice and helpful, suggesting the best choices depending on our taste. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and were surprised to see it on a sandwich, but once we ate it we must say it's the best calamari and best sandwich we have ever had. My husband order the filet mignon, which was the best stake I've tasted in a long time, cooked with a beautiful hot red center and a nice sear on the outside. Amazing ambiance and food! We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge and our tour guide one day, and it didn't disappoint. We had artichoke chips to start - a tad salty for us and could have used an ailoi sauce in our opinion - but still good. We had oxtail pasta - amazing, homemade pasta and really delicious truffle sauce. We had pork which had been smoked perfectly and was super tender. And we shared a tiramisu for dessert served in a little mason jar thing and it was a perfect, flavorful tiramisu. Great service and only thing that caught us off guard was that the waiter offered for us to put tip on our card so we had to decide on tip right there, on the spot, with the waiter present....a bit awkward!
