La Palmera was one of Rick Steve's recommendations and it is one of the best recommendations so far. We have tried a few of Rick Steve's recommendations and I have only rated a few restaurants with 5 stars. I highly recommend La Palmera. This is an outstanding restaurant and the price is reasonable. We had the 6 course tasting menu which includes drinks, tomato bread and dessert. This is one of the best meals I have had on my trip. Overall - 5 stars Food - 5 stars - taste and presentation is top notch. Service - 5 stars - Outstanding and attentive service which is comparable to high end restaurant in North America.

The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

We had read reviews that the food scene…read moreextended well into the night, so we decided that even though it was 10:30pm, we would still walk over to Tapeo and see if we had any luck getting seating. Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.

We wanted something that felt more local and authentic and this place delivered. We stumbled in looking for a light lunch and a glass of wine. There were locals dining in the front room, no gimmicky photos outside, and it immediately felt like a good choice. We grabbed one of the barrel tables, and our server Francisco asked if we trusted him. Of course we said yes - and I'm so glad we did. He brought us a white wine I had never heard of, and it was excellent. Then he brought us a cheese to try that I didn't think I was going to like, but it was great too. I completely forgot to take photos before we started eating, so all I have is the aftermath - which probably says everything. The chicken wings were incredible and surprisingly boneless, which made them easy to eat. The tuna tartare was excellent, and we also had the tomato bread and olives. Super casual, great service, and the best food we've had so far in Barcelona. Exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find. Highly recommend.
