Where do I start. Ordered a chicken ramen. Broth was meh. No better then what you buy in the store. I ate about 4 bites and was not allowed to take the leftovers. Waiter didnt ask if there was any issue despite the fact that neither myself or fiance hardly touched our food. Holy sodium, Batman! Hit up Two Ten Jack last night for some small bites and sake and now, the morning after, still dealing with the stomach bloat brought on by the excessive amount of salt in all the food. I have to agree with most of the other posts that the ambiance is nice, servers are also nice (but a little "slow"), and the food comes out at awkward times. Chicken meatballs hit the table within 2 minutes of ordering - before the sake. Then a tuna roll. Then 20 minutes go by before the Brussels Sprouts hit the table, then 15 minutes later, the ramen. The roll was solid (I'd give that four stars), but sprouts were nearly inedible from the salt/MSG (made your tongue burn). Definitely not a fan and likely won't be returning unless I have a hankering for sake. read more

It's an interesting take on a ramen restaurant but if you're looking for traditional, heart-warming, filling ramen, this isn't it. My fiance had the tonkotsu ramen (pork), which had only one piece of pork. I got the yasai shoyu (vegetarian). The main vegetables were kale and corn... you can't eat corn with chop sticks. The servings are small and we both left hungry but didn't feel like ordering more since we felt it was overpriced. If you've never had ramen or looking for a small meal, you might like it. The food is great. There's a lot to be said for having food arrive at roughly the same time so you can enjoy the variety of flavors. In our case, my husband and daughter's noodle bowls arrived first. I was told my meatballs would be out "when they're ready". I waited 5 minutes. When I asked about my shiitake, I was told they would be out "when they're ready". I waited another 5 minutes. The sauce on the mushrooms would have been great with the meatballs. read more

Food was not good at all! Service was so bad we laughed about it when we got home! The waitress told us we could not taste a $14.00 glass of wine before we ordered it because it was on tap!!! Tap wine? Really? Never heard if that! When I tried to order the waitress told me to just hold on she wasn't ready! My husband and I got our 2nd course before our parents even were severed their drinks!! It was my husbands bday dinner too! It was so bad! I would never take anyone there!! I work at a Asian restaurant and our menu will never be as confusing as theirs and the sad thing is that they can't even explain it! It's like they are trying to be so cool and trendy that they have totally forgotten about customer service and good food!! First, I'll admit some problems were probably growing pains for this establishment: 3 menu items were not available yet (drinks). We came expecting authentic ramen and food. Ordered shio (salt) and shoyu (soy sauce) ramens and a gyoza. The ramen came out first (well, after the drinks) - they should have been two different ramen, but they were exactly the same. There were no different veggies (greens vs bok choy), same meat balls, etc. We tried to check and were told they are the same except for the meat, so they offered out a plate of the char siu. The char siu was very lightly seared on one side but still very fatty. The noodles tasted like package raw noodles (cooked) - just standard commercial noodles. One last thing about the ramen was overly spicy with so much ra-yu. (Why is there even rayu in ramen?) The gyoza came out last and a while after we were done with the ramen. This gyoza was the worst disappointment of the meal. It was so late that we were thinking of cancelling the order but after having realized this place is not authentic, I wanted to find out what an American Southern gyoza tastes like. (American Southern Japanese in Tennessee somehow equals steakhouses). The gyoza was extremely mushy and the sauce that came with it was too sweet. We let them know that the gyoza was too mushy - they concurred and took it off the check. Overall, too pricey for ok food. read more

First of all, I don't leave Yelp reviews. I made a Yelp account, just so I could leave a review because this restaurant is THAT GOOD. Our server, Andi, absolutely rocked and gave fantastic service all around. Props to her! We started with the Always Sunny roll and it is my new favorite sushi roll ever. When I first heard that Chattanooga has a ramen house, I was so excited to finally get some more asian food around here. To be honest the food here taste amazing...the first few bites. The presentation is beautiful and the restaurant environment is very trendy and comfortable to be in. However...after the initial burst of delicious flavors in your mouth wears off, you are overcome with the amount of sodium in the food. Everything I've had (minus the sushi, I haven't tried any of that yet) is so overly salty I feel my mouth dry up instantly and I become so thirsty for water. I dont think ramen should be this pricey as well...it's worth trying one time and checking out the place but by no means is the food here five stars. Dont get me wrong, the quality of the food is great and I appreciate that but ... at the end of the day the food is just seasoned way too salty. read more

Good atmosphere! Really like the No. 2. The Japanese hush puppies were my favourite...could really taste the octopus. The Pork gyoza had a strong ginger after taste. The shishito was good...I could really taste the fresh flavour of the pepper. Had the pork ramen (tori paitan shio), which was okay. It was quite heavy, which is surprising for a broth based dish. It seemed to need something to lighten it a little. It was also VERY salty, and I wondered if the base was created with Sapporo Ichiban's beef or original soup base. The bamboo shoots were marinated in soy sauce. The pork belly, which is one of my favorite meats (think Korean Sam kyup ssal) seemed to have lost its flavour in all the salty beef broth. Actually, my choices of dishes ended up being soy sauce based...very redundant. I would recommend making sure you have a good variety of tastes and seasonings when selecting your dishes. read more

I was excited to try this place, and although good, it didn't live up to the hype I had heard. I got the veggie ramen. I had been craving good ramen for a while. The broth was full of flavor, but there was something off about it. I have no idea what it was. The service was good. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food, but it didn't seem overwhelming. I would probably go back with a group, but probably wouldn't choose it on my own. For me, it was an okay to average experience. I give four stars because the staff were friendly and helpful. read more

I really loved this place. The atmosphere is humming, young, and friendly, and brings the whole idea of a ramen joint to a new and better level. They have a wide and diverse drinks menu - something for everyone. We've been searching for a place to have good ramen forever. We learned about this place from a radio commercial and we were so excited to give it a try. We loved it. Crazy delish and not too pricey. Our waitress was crazy friendly and helpful. I recommend the vegetarian ramen. And you must order the avocado yakatori. Also the price was magnificent for what we were expecting. Little hard to find since it was underground but that is my only complaint! read more

I wanna love this place...I really DO! It's got a great "quirky" basement type vibe that was FANTASTIC! The server was super-sweet, and the adult beverage was just what I wanted. I tried the crispy roasted brussel sprouts and was BLOWN AWAY! I wish I knew what they do to make a vegetable taste so amazing, but I got a big bowl as an appetizer, and wished I had more. Had the spicy crab ramen noodle bowl, and it was also loaded with flavor. My only wish is that the menu were larger with more choices besides soup and noodles (also PLEASE put forks on the table, I'm not good with chop-sticks). I was there at lunch time, and was wondering if this is just a small-sized version of a larger dinner menu (not lots of lunch choices). I'm not always in a noodle-mood. Ramen, Ramen, Ramen! Did I say Ramen? No, not the Ramen we ate in college but the spectacular kind you get in Japan. This Ramen is presented in a huge ceramic bowl of spectacular broth melded with onions, shoots, sprout, mushrooms and other exotic oriental vegetables, a beautifully poached egg, all surrounding a huge portion of professionally prepared Ramen noodles. My broth was scented with garlic, chili oil, and coconut milk. It was absolutely fantastic. At $14.00 it was a great value and provided a vastly satisfying meal. I was simply underwhelmed. It was all "okay" but not outstanding. We had a salad, miso soup (which was really cold when they brought it out, yuck!) and a ramen bowl with pork. The Raman didn't stand out as the best or the worst I have ever had. And the service wasn't particularly awesome. They were nice, just not attentive at all. First time in we really enjoyed the place the atmosphere was great and the bartender was pretty fun. We enjoyed the sushi and the Ramen as well as a few house drinks. We will go back. Only complaints were they kept bringing us other people's food and the host had an attitude and didn't talk much or even tell us we could go to the bar. After a ten minute wait we finnally asked and she ignored us. We decided just to walk up. If was a weeknight so there was really no exscuse. The worst ramen I've had in a restaurant (packaged ramen better in some cases)! I had the chicken shoyu ramen; it came with chicken balls that tasted like they had gone bad; the broth was thick and heavy unlike most shoyu broths and the noodles were undercooked and rubbery. I shared this feedback with the waitress who apologized then said "do you eat much ramen"? I responded with with "Yes, I am half Japanese" to which she started rattling off japanese. Then, as I walked out of the restaurant, I heard her giggling while she was telling the chef about our dissatisfaction. Poor food overly priced and poor service. read more
