Terrible - They guaranteed I'd have a 1 ton or their smallest truck because I told them a 5 ton would not fit in my back lane as it is a narrow L shape dead end lane. They sent two men with poor English in a 5 Ton. They made me pay a $100 Deposit - When I again explained to the movers their truck was too big for the small move they said to call their boss - i called Geoff and he was rude, condisending and told me that I was lying and told me in a very rude manner that they are a moving company and that all moving companies only use 5 ton trucks - I'm moving my 91 year old mother who is ambulatory and needs her hospital bed from a small apartment - The quote had been astronimical to begin with but I thought I could trust this company and obviously not - TERRIBLE SERVICE - He told me my $100 deposit was non-refundable and that I'd have to go to CLAIMS and they don't take phone calls - I told them that's ridiculous as its not my fault they sent the wrongs size truck - if they used the 5 ton they'd have to park a block away and walk everything down a gravel lane - to which he replied that that would then coast me a fortune !!! Two Small Men With No Hearts were scheduled to move a client of mine and were a complete no show for a 9:00 am move booked a week in advance. Excuses rather than empathy were offered and my client had to take things into his own hands at 4:00pm and rent a U Haul to do the move by himself. If I could not give a star, I would Moving house as you probably know, is one of the most stressful things people can do in their life. The men hired were several hours late because they were finishing up a job from the previous day. When they finally arrived, we were told they could only take half of our items and that they would have to come back next week for the rest. I have never experienced this from any moving company in my life. This is extremely unprofessional; when I hire a company I expect all my belongings to be moved, not half. They phoned their boss Alan, I believe his name is, who said lackadaisically, they could come back in a couple of days. The young men dealing with him mentioned more than once that that was not possible. The only solution one of the young men had, was to call another company to come the next day and hopefully they would. We were lucky that they did. A terrible experience. We recently used Two Small Men With Big Hearts to unload 2-26 foot trucks with all our furniture, boxes, bags, bins etc etc. we moved up from Las Vegas. Needless to say it was a lot of heavy items moving into a 4 bedroom condo on the second floor. These guys were amazing! Hard working, organized and very respectful! Atrocious...scheduled for 9 am 7 days in advance of a move that was necessary prior to sale of property. At 8.50 am I get a call that the movers "truck broke down" and they will be there in the afternoon. After rescheduling everything related to the strata I confirmed they need to be there by 2 pm. At noon I get a call from the movers clearly on another moving sight saying they will be there at 4 pm (peak traffic $$$ when it would take a 5 min drive 45 minutes at least). They obviously scored a bigger move and expected longer hours by putting my move into peak traffic time. Nothing short of fraud. Stay away at ALL cost. Ridiculously bad experience. Milked the clock at the 2.5 hour mark, to make it 3 hours, and made the excuse of the elevator being jammed up. Only 1 mover was really working, the other worker, just stood around and asked for a discount at the office I work at. He was standing around the majority of the time I saw him. I was moving faster than he was as I was clearing space in the apartment. The whole company, was the worst I have ever dealt with. They had a window of 1-5pm, I asked Jim at 10am, the "coordinator", if it was possible to ask the movers to come right at 1 as I had a slot of 1-4 for the elevator. He said yes, should be fine as they may need lunch. Movers come right at 5 pm. Jim stops answering my phone calls at 2 pm. Costed me $300 with the building strata for my elevator booking as I had to forfeit it due to going past the alloted time. They moved my coffee table, with a dolley, hit the side of the house, scratched it, and the mover never even checked to see if the table was okay after he hit the side of the house, I had to tell them they scratched it. I was only passing by when it happened, if I had not been there, I'm sure they never would have told me. I took pictures, but as I was paying, the mover never mentioned that he would submit a claim for the damaged table. They brought in the wrong box upstairs into my apartment, full of trash, I had said that it was not mine, and they asked me if I was sure, and I opened it up and it was full of cigarettes and plastic sheathing, I said I was sure. As they were leaving, after I had paid them already, I saw the box of trash still in the hallway, mentioned that it was still there, they acted like they forgot it when the hallway is tiny. They forgot to give me my key fob back for the apartment so I called them to give it back to me, they gave it back, and thats when I noticed trash was on the floor from that box they brought up, I asked them if they could just clean it up since I did not want to get in trouble. He did so. I used the elevator 1 hour later, and noticed the box of trash was left in the elevator, as seen in picture. I have pictures to prove what they did, and they were at my place with their truck, if they try to say my allegations are false. They are very shady, and untrustworthy. Costed me $600 with them, and $300 with my building strata fee. They only were able to get an extra half an hour which they very obviously milked, saying it was the elevators fault. WOW- Where do I start...? We were quoted $2200 for them to pack up my elderly mother and move less than an hour and unload. I was paying for the move for my mother and After they had she unloaded one of the movers called me and told me it would be $3600! After some discussion with that guy he hung up on me. I called the main office, talk to a very nice lady and explained the situation she took my name and number and told me a manager will call me. Never did heard from the manager. My mother started to unpack: She has a missing plant - they tell her it broke so they through it in the ditch. China cabinet is damaged Leather couch is damaged lamp is broken 2 speakers are missing TV screen is smashed. Stand up freezer is broken and the door does not seal now. They also moved the freezer loaded full of food. She opened the door and all the shelves are broken and the food fell out. Other events that happened- The evening after the move, mom gets a text from Alex (the mover guy) - " Hey I hope we have you really good service today I'm sorry to even ask is there anyway you could buy my a pack of cigarettes for a tip if you would not mind I'm really in need of them" "Sorry if this is a little unprofessional " "Sorry that was unprofessional nvm" Here's a story for from my mother: They were trying to take the king bed frame with headboard on out thru the condo patio door I said that won't work take the headboard off We can't get bolts out So they carted it down the hall and out Then when here I said you have to take head board off to bring it in Some how they did Then they're bringing in the frame all in tact I said you can't bring it in like that, take it apart HERE and I showed them where Then he said well do you have any tools? lol Went and got them my tool box and said Funny moving company that has no tools He said other driver took them I am sure this story is not done as of yet..... to be continued.... read more

Two Small Men Moving (2SM) Don't walk, run away from this company. I suspect the original company was sold and possibly franchised off? They definitely use 3rd party packers, storage and movers. I believe this is where the problem lies. Numerous broken dishes, unwrapped furniture (we had been promised all furniture was shrink wrapped. That was a lie) scuffed with leather ripped, punctured, filthy and scraped. Bedding lying loose on the bottom of the truck, filthy. Our pillows and king quilt! WTH! Boxes unmarked, over-loaded with loose and little twisted tape barely holding it together. Even the unloading movers were pretty appalled. One box of books was so heavy and poorly boxed, that it fell apart when lifted dropping my cookbooks all over the concrete. The biggest issue for us was 2 pieces that never arrived. One area rug and one chest freezer. Coincidentally we had 3 area rugs and 2 chest freezers. Interesting how one of each are just gone. Oh and we have been told we're probably not covered for missing items because, get this, they don't take inventory of what they move. That was supposed to be our job. Which of course we were never told. Every other moving company I've ever used marks each box and each piece with a numbered sticker that gets marked off at time of delivery. Distribution 101. Also no coverage for IKEA bookcases because they are made from particle board, so of course the "billy bookcase" was damaged. So claims, that's the other issue. We were told we could not speak in person to anyone and had to have discussions via email with only one person. Very impersonal with lots of negative suggestions that we may not be covered for missing items, etc. Of course because of the terrible move and after service we suspect some scam going on with "lost items". Not saying that's true but when you feel as dissatisfied and disappointed as we do your imaginations go directly to the dark place of shifty business practices. How else do you explain away missing large piece items? I am at a loss for words. I agree with many that the booking agents are lovely. Tianna was the reason we booked with them in the first place. I believe she's in Kelowna? After that I was told Barb was our "go to" out of Richmond. The job was to help us pack and move from our 3400 sft house in White Rock to storage for 6 weeks then to Delta. This is during the crazy real estate market so we had sold our house but then couldn't find anywhere to buy so we're in limbo. This company had the dates we needed, could help with packing and had storage. Perfect. Booked. At first, because of Tianna, it felt organized and stress free. Before the pack date we did about 85% of our own packing; especially fragile or pieces of value. I am so glad I did. These boxes were the only ones that arrived without any issues. Assuming 2SM would take the same level of care was a Mistake! Day one. Pack day I found communication to be disgraceful the packers were late arriving leaving us hanging around waiting and texts and calls being ignored for hours. Chris, apparently their "best" packer and mover never did get back to me. They eventually showed up with a bunch of excuses and then because of Covid it was requested we not stick around. We walked them through our house explaining in detail everything that needed to be finished packed with a few exceptions staying behind which were clearly marked. Of course they took a desk we had asked them not to move and clearly marked. That took a few days to track down and get returned. One big concern was a large treadmill. We were told it was not their policy to dismantle. Good. We didn't want them to take it apart. But if it had to be we would look after that ourselves. We asked Chris' opinion on moving it out. We were told it could be moved assembled. Of course, when it arrived it was partially disassembled, wobbly and with parts and bolts missing. We had to bring in a treadmill repair person to fix that bungle. Day two: move day. Again we were asked to stay away due to Covid. Let's just say this was a disastrous move with a partial claim reimbursement of $0.60/lb for just over $250. The total repair and replacent would be well over $2500 not including repairs to our furniture and dish sets that can never be complete again. I think the only reason we even received what we did from them was because I mentioned "legal" in my last detailed email claim descriptions. And voila, a cheque. Not even enough to cover replacing the chest freezer. I don't want people loosing their jobs. Just train them better. Treat your customers with respect and compassion and if you are truly in the move business, then learn how to do that. If items go missing, investigate. You've got major problems in your business model and of course we will never use you again nor recommend you to anyone. Omgosh We were quoted $1400.00. 2 guys who had no clue showed up. The first part went OK, then we got to new place.. Within 1 hour , 1 of the movers just left + we were down to one. I had marked every box bdrm, kitchen, living room, storage. Because I ended up physically doing half the move myself, I ckldnt make sure things went where they were supposed to. Nothing went where it was supposed to. After 2 hours a 2nd mover showed up. Not very happy. Not my fault. A 1400.00 quote turned into a $1700.00 move. By far the most expensive quote for piano removal, but we'd asked 1-800-GOT-JUNK to do the job and they arrived only to tell us they weren't able. They recommended Small Men. There's the fee, then the add-ons: eg: 2 trucks because 4 men would be needed, the minimum 2 hour per truck and hourly fee for each of the 4 men, the 'disassembly' fee, the transport to the landfill fee and taxes. The service was for my mother who doesn't deal with cards and Small Men don't accept cash or cheques. In the end, we were able to contract Metro Vancouver Movers who arrived on time with 6 men and quickly determined the best way out of the house for the piano. They expertly manœuvered the piano outside without any problems and agreed to take a large rug and a couple of other large items that also needed rmoval at no extra charge. The beauty was that Metro Vancouver Movers charged us LESS THAN HALF of what Small Men were going to charge us, PLUS they accepted cash. Small Men were just difficult and overly expensive. read more

Avoid, avoid, avoid! I almost couldn't be more disappointed. After the move I spoke to more people and as soon as I mention this companies name people flinch. I wasn't given their names when they arrived or really any kind of polite greeting or introduction. I spent over $1300 (quoted under $800) I was quoted 3-5 hrs for a move which took 7! And this was after I called local dispatch to request an additional person. I didn't even take a good portion of what was on the list. I had to leave so much behind I am forced to rent another truck and hire out more work. Upon arrival we were immediately stressed at the demeanour and attitude from T. He immediately demanded to know why we hadn't booked 3 people. I explained I wasn't given the option and that I had filled out the online checklist as well as spoke to office staff twice. This was on going through the 5 hrs, despite him saying "wow you guys are working so hard!" (when we shouldn't have had to), and complaints about the booking staff not knowing their job. This was all while my husband, myself and my 19 year old moved most of the furniture out of the apartment and either to the hallway, elevator or the lobby ourselves using 2 of our own carts and our own flat dolly!!!!! Several phone calls being taken by one of the movers, during one of which when he was asked how the move was going, T answered with "pathetic". There was multiple and sometimes significant damage to furniture, appliances, as well as some damage to walls and trim work. Boxes were even dropped. My freezer put on its side (who does that?? But ok no big deal in the overall scheme of things.) No moving blankets were used to pad our furniture despite a large stack of them in the truck. I tried to be patient and accommodating because I know it was a hot day, but I honestly don't think they could have moved any slower! I think it was the young fellows first day on the job. I was charged from 10:30am onwards and he didn't even arrive until then. We had nearly all of the furniture already moved to one area of my apartment for easy moving. With the exception of the beds which we needed space to break down and move but had done long before the movers were ready. We had already moved 90% of our breakables and boxes. Thank heaven!! We had to leave our artwork and TVs behind as well as much much more because there simply wasn't time or trust levels! So much of our stuff was damaged I'm almost thankful we couldn't move it all. We hired movers so that we were not sore and exhausted, and having to take more time off work. Now we have to hire another person(s) to help us and rent a uhaul to finish our move. We spent $1300 to do more than 50% of the loading side ourselves, and ended up with so much damage! Thank God we called dispatch and they sent M. on the unpacking end. M was the only one of these three fellows that seemed to care. He heard me remark about damage, as well as saw some damage he immediately apologized and said to put in a claim after the move. Yes there were obstacles on the loading end, such as not having an elevator key, but my goodness, that doesn't justify what we went through! So what's my bottom line here? We paid double our quote for doing nearly half of the work ourselves and having to pay more to finish the job, and to repair all sorts of damage to our belongings and our apartments, as well as take time off work and we are so exhausted we may as well have done it ourselves and saved ourselves a ton of money and frustration. I hope there's decent insurance, I wasn't offered choices. I haven't heard back from the company. I have so many photos of damage done. (Couch, scrapes on top and front, major paint transfer and fabric damage. Wood cabinet deep gouges, shelves deep gouges, dresser deep gouges and scrapes and paint transfer, stove drawer completely bent inwards, door way trim huge chips missing, coffee table big paint scrapes, curio cabinet door was twist and broke all the corner joints in upper side, brand new end tables dented and damaged and I haven't even begun to finish unpacking) read more

Overall, quite disappointed with the customer experience. One of the movers spoke down to his partner the whole time, parked their truck illegally, not apologetic for being 4 hours late, forgot some of the packing material. The Territory Manager called 15 minutes before scheduled arrival letting me know they had mechanical issues with the truck and it would be 3 hours delay, but they would take good care of me. They were four hours late. I called back later to discuss and the tone immediately started by the manager was that I was inconveniencing him with the call. I was told this is expected and that since I was a "small move" that's what happens and "small moves" get bumped. Effective communication to your customers to let them know you're not a priority or care about their business. No accountability for the delay being their fault, no sincere apology, and blamed "them" repeatedly for not explaining any of this to me. Refused to provide any discount stating I was already at the absolute lowest rate. It was a standard mid-month promotion of no fuel surcharge .... Was in a rush and didn't do my research. one of my best friends had this company two small men with big hearts hired to move her to her new place , she was charged $2400 $!Their services were paid for and they had six hours of billed time to load up the truck bring it to the new place unload and help help set up her stuff. she was promised three movers. She was only provided with two. the two that she had were two young guys who spent more time having a conversation with each other and arguing in another language, then getting stuff done. when the truck was finally packed it had taken them almost half the time they had to get it done. the most sickening part is when they got to the new place they told my girlfriend who is a single mother with two small children that their time was done and they would have to leave her stuff in her driveway. She said absolutely not. You cannot do that when she tried to contact the manager of the company He wouldn't answer her, and he hung up on her. He was very rude. He told her it was his day off. He is not dealing with this. They can either leave her stuff there in the driveway, or he can tell them to put it in storage and she can pay for it ! this is unacceptable how dare he treat her like that! so in conclusion, this company is a joke. Sent me a confirmation and informed me the movers would be there between 9-10a. Great. A little pricey, but fine. Sunday arrives. I'm on site at 9a and wait. 10a. No movers. I'll wait. 1030a, no movers. I call and I get the following: - we have your reservation but we didn't actually book any movers or a truck. WTH?!? Lovely. So, what now? They transfer me to Two Burley Men. Personally, I don't care who moves me, but someone just please move my stuff. I asked if I can still book with Two Small men - just in case - and they said the earliest they could provide movers was between 1-5p. Fine - just book them. If I can get someone else, I'll let you know and cancel, but please ensure someone is scheduled for this afternoon. Back to Two Burley Men - they tell me they can get someone over between 2-4p. Great. Was upfront and told them - whoever gets here first. I will call the other company and cancel as soon as someone shows up. They said that's totally understandable, that's fine. So I wait. Don't bother trying to reserve a truck. Going to be near impossible to recruit help to move it myself anyhow. So I wait. 430p rolls around. No calls from anyone. No movers. No updates on status. Nothing. I call - Two Small Men - voicemail over and over even though they're open until 5p. Two Burley men answer. Said he's gonna call the guy as he should be there and he'd call me right back. No call back. Call Two Small men - voicemail again. I call Two Burley Men back - voicemail. I left messages at both places. It's 5p and no responses. Why this is even more a kick in the groin - they both know that with my divorce move happening, my furniture has been placed outside. It's partially under cover, but it can't remain outside unattended as things are going to damaged and/or stolen. Horrendous customer service. At least have balls to answer your phone and tell me the truth that you failed. This is not over. Update: Two Burley Men manages to contact me 30 minutes after I posted this. Coincide? Who knows. The worst customer service experience of my life. The first 3 men who arrived had NO CLUE what they were doing. Our 600 sq ft apartment took over 5 hours to pack into the truck. They called in their senior mover to help them with a stationary bike. After 4.5 hours - the first crew got taken out of the job and a whole new crew arrived. Fortunately this second crew actually knew how to move small boxes and furniture. However, they stopped on route for beer, got drunk while unpacking and even stole our beer and pre-mixes too. One guy got so confused, when they were almost done moving us IN, he started moving us OUT again. They stood our Mable table sideways on the back patio and chipped it, constantly throwing out racist comments, complaining about the weight of our boxes (when they were trying to move 4 at a time). They entered our house through the kitchen, and I found kitchen boxes in the bedrooms and bedroom boxes in the garage. Overall, between the 7 people we had on site, it took over 8 hours to complete the job (plus the 1.5 hours of transport time that they bill you for), and they probably took 2.5-3 hours of breaks. My first experience using a moving company in over a dozen moves and I wish I had done it myself. When the office guy called for payment and we told him our concerns instead of having a reasonable discussion he threatened to send us to collections. When the manager followed up, we received an email stating that they would review this in their monthly meetings and thank you for replying. read more

Can I leave zero stars? ...Is that an option? This was the most disorganized, unprofessional company I've ever worked with. They showed up EIGHT HOURS LATE without ever contacting me which meant we were moving large items in to my new building after midnight. Once they arrived, one of the men seemed with it, but the other one was definitely messed up on something (drugs? Alcohol? I have no idea, but he did comment on having to leave the bar to do the move). Both men smelled so much of cigarette smoke and BO that it stunk up both of the homes (the one we were moving out of and the one we were moving in to). The worst part of it all was when I tried expressing my concerns to the "customer care" person, they literally did absolutely nothing. I felt I should have been refunded or discounted considering they ruined our entire day. (I didn't want to mention not wanting to pay when they asked for their money because one was completely out of it and I felt vulnerable having them in my home.) I wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid this company! When I called to book, I was asked to list the larger pieces of furniture in my home. Using that information I was given a quote of 3-5 hours to move with 2 movers. I was moving out of an 800sqft condo. When the movers arrived I was told that they actually had 3 movers, so the cost would now not be $119/hr, it would be $159/hr..."but it will be faster with 3 of us". What exactly was I supposed to do? Standing there with my life packed up, took the day off work, 4 days until Christmas.....say no? Piss them off when they're about to handle and move my whole life? (Nevermind the irony that the company is called TWO small men....) Well it turns out I didn't get 3 experienced movers, I got 1 experienced mover who seemed to be training 2 guys who had never moved a thing in their life. They were SO SLOW and clumsy and careless. The experienced guy had to correct or 'reprimand' them many times. My move took NINE (9) HOURS! By the end I just was telling them to put everything in the living room because I just wanted them out! I had to move things to appropriate rooms myself. A number of boxes arrived absolutely drenched. One was crushed and muddy, with the books inside also damaged on the outside edges. The front door of my newly built house has a couple huge gouges in it, weather stripping on the door is torn, the banister has scratches and dents, scratches and dents on walls. After taxes my move was $1700. Absolutely exorbitant. I contacted the office to file a complaint. I was contacted back by Ali, who will likely respond to this review. I got zero apology for the terrible service, completely ignored about being absolutely ripped off and then told I needed to contact multiple contractors and get quotes for the repairs. To quote a wonderful internet meme..."Ain't nobody got time for that!" The emails I receive regarding this are clearly copied and pasted from the "angry customer playbook", which I'm guessing they have to reference quite often. Poor Ali takes all the sh** from customers for their terrible service. She's probably so over it by now, I do have a tiny bit of sympathy, I bet she has to deal with a LOT of complaints. I have a written quote for a 3-5 hour move (I understand thats an estimate, but should have been at least close to that) and for $119/hr. I had a really bad experience with this company. Their fee is that of other professional moving companies, but their on-the-job service is deplorable and was disappointing, to say the least. The most unbelievable part of my experience, was that they actually forgot one of my small sofas in the elevator, forcing me to run after the truck to ask them to come back to load it up. What's more, they forget to bring the FOB key when first showing up, and to end things as they started, they put together a dresser with the mirrors installed backwards. Worse Moving Company Ever! Warning do not use!!!!! Movers were always on breaks and the move took twice as long, my boyfriend had to finally help them to push them to hurry up. They also dropped my freezer down a flight of stairs damaging it and called management in front of me and reported the damage, and texted them photos. Come to find out I didn't make the claim myself so they denied covering it!!! I stood there and watched and heard them provide the needed documents and then was told it take 60 days for processing of claim. I followed up via phone call twice and come to find out the 60 days is a trick. If I don't file within 60 days myself they deny the claim!!! They are con artists!!! read more

They were supposed to arrive between 9-10, it was after 11. My boxes were clearly marked for each room and if fragile. They stacked boxes with no regard to being fragile or not and dropped or threw boxes into the garage at our new location as it was getting late and putting them in designated rooms would have extended the move. So far I have shattered vintage Corning ware, discontinued German crystal goblet, several crystal pieces, hand painted baby plate, and numerous other pieces...I'm out $3400 for this service and I haven't finished unpacking yet read more

If I could give this company a zero review, I would. I had two guys show up yesterday to move just my bedroom and living room furniture. I was charged $950!!!! One guy took two hours to take the arms off my sofa. The other guy just stood around and twiddled his thumbs. FOR TWO HOURS! I had to tell him to pick a box up and take it to the truck! I slipped a disc in my back and I can't pick anything up. But watching one guy attempt to wrap my couch, I got so frustrated, I just started to do it myself. The other guy started taking unwrapped pieces of my PINK VELVET couch out into the rain! I had to go and bring the wrap and say, I'll wrap it before he stumbled along and said he would do it. They ruined my freshly cleaned carpets with their boots. They put my stuff on the dirty, wet patio and I had to drag my dirty, wet bags into my house with my herniated disc because this guy just left them there. I was having to clean the floors afterwards and crying because I had to do so much lifting in my move. AND PAY $950!!!!! I have moved twice and it took 3 hours both times. It took these guys 7 hours??? I am beyond angry with this company. DON'T USE THEM EVER!!!!!! read more

I have called this company after they assembled my furniture wrong and I was missing items. This is after I was charged too much for the time allotted etc. They did nothing!!! They basically accused me of Lying. I had to throw out a drafting table due to the damage and I had to buy new wood placements for my bed as they damaged them. If I could give this place a zero star review I would. Absolutely the worst movers I have ever dealt with. Number one, even though it was pouring rain they didn't put down any runners or carpet protection whatsoever. This meant that my white carpets in my bedrooms were absolutely filthy when they were done. Number two, although they were supposed to be done at the first place at 1:00pm, they didn't finish up until 3:00pm. Considering that we only had the elevator until 1:00 this created issues with the property management company not only at our old house, which needed to get the elevator back for public use, but also for the management company at the new place which had the elevator booked from 1:00 - 4:00. Number three, I was told that they would disassemble the beds. They did manage to disassemble the metal bed frame of the king bed, but for my daughters bed I was told "If you want this to go faster, you should just disassemble this yourself." Cue me digging out my tools and trying to figure out how to take the bed apart while I'm supposed to be cleaning the place for the new owners. Number four, at the new place the movers asked if there was carpeting thorough out the home. When I confirmed that there was, his replied "Well that's too bad because it's raining." Guess there was no plans for carpet protection at the new place either (I was right). Number five, they then proceeded to move stuff into the wrong spaces - boxes and furniture for the downstairs bedrooms that were clearly labelled as such were instead left upstairs in the living room. Boxes and furniture marked for the loft were left at the bottom of the stairs. In between moving my own boxes and furniture up and down stairs to where they were supposed to go, I got the added joy of reassembling my daughters bed. Number six: at 6:30 (2.5 hours after they were supposed to be done) I asked for an update as to when they thought they were going to be finished, as I was told that they'd be finished by now. I was met with a shoulder shrug and was told that that they would see what they could do. My wife went down to the lobby a few minutes later and saw them taking a smoke break. We then waited for 20 minutes before they showed up again. Number seven: they told my wife that the reason it took so long was that we had "too many boxes." I'm not sure how to respond to that - we're a family of three living in 826 square feet. When we moved a year ago, the move was done in less than 5 hours. To make up for it, they didn't charge us for the tv box or mattress covers they brought (a $40 value). Hooray. Number eight: the next day, when I left the front door of our building, there was a big pile of garbage (shrink wrap, boxes, tape etc) that they left behind. I had a blast cleaning that up. Number nine: this move was quoted as being as 4-6 hours. The move actually took a full 9. At $129 per hour, plus fuel surcharge, plus tax, this adds up significantly. Despite everything, they charged us full price. Between the lack of care of moving our things, the disregard for our carpets, leaving garbage behind, and going over time (it was pitch black outside by the time they were done) I would seriously caution anyone who uses Two Small Men With Big Hearts. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed in my experience with this company, as I was overcharged $200 and have been waiting a week for them to respond to my emails regarding my experience. I ended up paying $640 to move a studio apartment's worth of stuff when I was quoted an estimate of $450 total, and the move went on an hour longer than expected due to delays with the team causing me to miss my move-in reservation. My pick up arrival window was 1-5 pm, so I called a week to notify the coordinator that I would only have the elevator locked and the parkade at the drop off location reserved from 2:30-4:30pm. The coordinator told me that this would be the team's second moving job of the day so it should go fine, but potentially a little bit over time. I made sure to only have my furniture left in the apartment so it would be as quick as possible. Ahead of time, my roommate and I took four trips back and forth between my old and new apartments to pack her sizable car with boxes and bags so there would be less items for the movers to deal with and, hopefully, less time spent moving on the day. This was clearly a waste of my time as the movers showed up at 5:10pm, my move-in window had passed and I had no elevator locked and I wasted three hours waiting around for the team with barely any updates. The team initially called me at 1:15pm to let me know they were a bit delayed and expected to arrive at 2:30pm or after. I did not hear anything until I called them at 3:45pm, at which point they said they would "maybe" arrive at 4:30pm, and they did not pick up the phone when I called back at 4:45pm. I called the dispatcher who also could not get ahold of them, and she told me that the team had been having trouble with an elevator at one of their previous jobs, which I found surprising as I was under the impression that there would be one moving job in the morning and only mine in the afternoon. When we arrived at the drop off location, there was a move-out taking place after hours and the elevator was occupied. We had to wait for that to finish while the team unloaded the truck, before we could move everything upstairs. Additionally, the parkade was closed so the items had to be carried up a short flight of stairs, into a hallway and finally into the elevator. We had to move everything from the hallway and into the apartment ourselves, put it in the correct rooms, and had to assemble all our own furniture. After unpacking everything, I saw that a carpet was lost sometime during the move-in as it is now nowhere to be found and I had relatively few boxes and bags in the moving truck. I realize that moving is expensive and I have previously paid around $500 to move the same amount, however I am a student and a sudden $200 increase in charges is a lot and shocked me especially considering my experience overall. The travel time from pick up to drop off was about 30 minutes, the pick up took one hour and the drop off would only have taken an hour if we had the elevator and parkade. One of the movers also asked for a tip, which I found inappropriate and rude especially after I expressed how surprised I was at the final cost, after he was incredibly rude and short with me, my roommate and my friend. I'm shocked at how lousy my actual moving experience was considering all of the coordinators and the dispatcher I spoke to were incredibly nice and helpful. I emailed the moving coordinator the day after the actual move, which was Monday Sep 28th, sent in a feedback form two days later, sent the after-service manager the same email on Friday and still have yet to receive a response. read more

The movers that were on the job were very inexperienced. It was one of the guy's 2nd move ever, and the other guy had been there less than 2 months. The guy who had been there only 2 days had a great attitude, and took the lead, because the other guy clearly didn't care very much. Anyways, the movers tried for 2 hours to move the Cabinet Bed up the stairs, but they bashed the walls and railings a lot and ended up having to give up and bring the Cabinet Bed back down stairs. This took up a lot of time and 1 hour of my time also. They should have had the expertise to either not try bringing it up, or think about taking it apart. This is why I hired movers in the first place and they were not equipped to handle the job. These two guys were not trained properly and were not professional, they stated many times that a more senior mover should have been assigned to this job. I believe I should be reimbursed for the damage, as well as the extra 2 hours they spent on this move. The move was 8.5 hours, and it was quoted as 3-4 hours. This is unacceptable. read more

These guys left us completely high and dry on our moving day saying they didn't have a truck for us because they hit a deer on the highway. They dangled us along all day not getting back to us with an update on an alternate truck and when we could expect them to arrive for our move. We had to keep calling corporate office because our regional contact was MIA and not returning our calls. We had to scramble last minute and find someone else that could help us move at the 11th hour. DO NOT USE THEM! MOVERS WITH NO INTEGRITY! They are the most unreliable movers. Our move was scheduled at 9am and they were two hours late. Never received a call from them, and when I called at 9:30am they said they got a flat tire and should be there in 30 mins. More like 1.5 hours later!! Luckily for Yelp I read up on other reviews and it sounds like they are notoriously known to bullshit you and be super late. Thank goodness I found another mover and cancelled them. I know that starting off the move with bad energy and people with no integrity is awful. My daughter had a long distance move with this company. They never came up to see how much furniture and stuff she had to move and she did give them a list of the number of boxes she had and all of the furniture and pictures and lamps etc. the day came for the move and they left a whole garage full of boxes and items and had no plan to bring them to her at all. Therefore it's costing her father a trip six hours to come and pick up the stuff and six hour and six hours back to his house and then another nine hours to get to my daughters house. The company is not compensating her for this either. read more

We had a beautiful expensive EQ3 bed that the movers completely broke in half. Initially they told us not to worry that they would compensate for the value of the bed to have us sign the papers and pay for the moving cost but then they turn around stating they can't compensate for our bed. This is an unprofessional and dishonest company and I would recommend to avoid. They definitely do not know how to handle expensive furniture with care. read more

The guys arrived a little late and I couldn't connect with Barb right away, but apart from that I was happy with them. There were actually 3 movers instead of 2 so the time it took was shortened. They were friendly and professional, which is what's important. There were no damages or broken items. And when it came to pay for the total, I was pleasantly surprised it was less than what I thought, due to lesser time it took. It's a hard physical job, so I always appreciate what they do. I definitely can't imagine doing that as a job. I gave each of the guys a tip at the beginning of the move to show my appreciation, and I think they felt good because they did a great job! If I could give a negative i would. My mother is a widow and gave almost all of her stuff to us kids so she only had one truck load. The 2 men that showed up were INTOXICATED and she felt uncomfortable calling the police or anyone as she was alone. My uncle showed up and they called him an asshole. They also damaged multiple items of hers. Not only was this day hard as hell for her having to leave the house she had with her dead husband these assholes made it worse. They even left the premise for almost 3 hours with no reason why and came back even more high and could barely drive. They are trying to charge her over 2k for this which she will now be taking to the bbb as management is ignoring her complaint. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. read more
