For the 2nd time in 2 years - the team from WMLS was hands down amazing. We used them a year ago when we first moved to Seattle from the East Coast and were blown away. To say they worked their tails off is an understatement. While we didn't expect to move again so soon, when we had an unexpected chance to move across Seattle to a new neighborhood - I didn't even hesitate when thinking about who to call. Our team of 3 last Thursday showed up exactly on time - and worked non-stop until almost 7 hours later. Communication with Jason from time of scheduling until the day prior was outstanding. When we decided to have all of our floors replaced, we knew our furniture would need to be moved out of the house. Thumbs Up provided us with a very fair quote, showed up on time, had terrific communication skills, and were ultra-professional. They had all of the larger pieces of furniture out of the house within an hour!! A week later, they moved it all back in again and were just as diligent. I would use them again in a heart-beat. (I do recommend supervising the placement of the furniture back into the house as they don't always center things or get them just right...but I put that on me for not being available!) Our first call was a little short notice but they were able to have 2 guys meet us and they did an awesome job! Worked hard and meticulous about packing the truck so nothing would break. I highly recommend Washington Moving Labor Services! My experience with this company was fantastic. Jason, the owner, was very helpful in answering all of my questions and I really appreciated the fact that he always responded very quickly if I left a message. He was also very professional and called me the next day after my move to make sure that I had a pleasant experience and that everything was to my satisfaction. Not many companies take the time to do that and I really appreciated it because it shows that they actually care. All three of the movers were great, but one definitely stood out as exceptional and that was Antonio. He worked quickly and very hard. He was great at taking apart any furniture that needed to be taken apart to maximize space in the moving truck. He was very careful with all of my belongings, using sheets, towels and moving blankets to protect as well as possible. Also, he really knew what he was doing as far as directing the other two guys with the best way to stack the furniture to get it to all fit and be as stable and secure as possible. When we arrived at my storage unit, nothing had shifted in the 26' moving truck. Antonio was again on top of his game when it came to unloading everything and making it all fit into my unit and even having a walkway through the center of everything. Amazing job and I am very pleased! Everyone was nice and attentive and had a great sense of humor. Moving can be such a stressful situation and hiring a wonderful company such as WMLS can make everything so much better. The bottom line is: I will definitely be calling this company again in the future when I am moving out of my storage unit. 5 stars all around. I couldn't have had much better of an experience. I've used WMLS' services twice so far... once to move into an apartment, and once to move out in late July of this year. I can't recommend a Seattle-area moving company more highly. All the helpers they send out are always very pleasant and incredibly efficient. They helped me load up a 16-foot truck, and even though I was in an 8th-story apartment far away from the entrance, they were done in no time. The guys always were very careful and get the full picture (i.e., identifying fragile items, understanding what to move first, etc.). I feel like WMLS' rates are very competitive for the area... many other companies are much pricier. You get a lot for your money with this company, and I appreciate their help the past couple of years. read more

Had a great experience! Andrew and Antonio were the movers and they were great. They called first to let me know they were on their way and then then arrived right on time. They quickly assessed the situation and started moving things out without delay. My girlfriend told them that she was nervous and was having trouble talking and so they began to joke with her and make her laugh, putting her instantly at ease. I really thank them for that. Moving is stressful and she doesn't handle stress well but she had no problems with the entire day. When we told them that we were on a budget crunch, they worked with us to figure out what could be done to help. I greatly appreciated that. I think that this is an excellent business model for people looking to move: you get your own truck and they supply the labor. The rates were reasonable; the office personnel were very kind; and the guys were neat, clean, punctual, professional, and very hard working. I hate moving but these guys made it a breeze. Call this company to get a quote it took them 1-day to get back to me. The man that called me back was rude, and condisending and overtaking while I was trying to ask questions. He has a prepared script and trying to upsell a longer moving job than I needed. He said, " you don't trust me, you don't understand what i am telling you." I told him he has know business telling me who I do, and do not trust. Nor, does he have the right to insinuate that I don't understandand what he is saying.. The guy was completely inappropriate. I am taking my business elsewhere he hung up on me. I recommend that you do not use this company you will be treated poorly. This is only the second time I've ever needed to hire movers and Antonio and Andrew were awesome! They very carefully wrapped up all of my things so that they were 100% safe from denting and scratching, much more meticulously than the previous moving company I used. They moved quickly and efficiently even with the pieces of furniture of mine that I never thought 2 alone people could move! I had confidence to hire WMLS after reading the positive reviews here and elsewhere. My decision was reassured as soon as I spoke to Marissa on the phone -- her ability of timely communication and responsive followup really helped schedule the job and make sure that precision details were accounted before. Whether phone or email, she is stellar to work with. I wasn't left hanging and didn't have to repeatedly remind her. She was also preemptive to ask questions about the move site I hadn't thought of. I've had some negative experiences before with sloppy household services, so the sheer positive contrast here was fantastic. Marissa even called in advance to discuss if I could flexibly reschedule my appointment due to more-than-expected jobs vs. worker availability. Totally understandable. The actual move process was a cinch. I needed a Simple Box emptied for return. I wasn't able to be onsite and this might be a cause for concern for some (especially those worried if the workers are slacking) -- this was absolutely not the case here. William and Andrew were my mover guys and William called me ahead, left voice mail messages when I couldn't pick up, and handled the job in an efficient amount of time. They also sent me clear, VERY high-resolution pictures (like 2432x4320 or 10.5 megapixels) showing the job was done. Taking "aftermath" photos is a great idea, and I have noticed other happy customers with thumbs-up which brings a human side and personality to the equation, especially because moving can be so stressful and costly. After the job, payment was handled with a quick phone call and giving my credit card details (they are modern and use Square for processing). It seems like excellence is not just limited to an employee and extends across their whole team. If you're in the service area, I'd highly recommend Washington Moving Labor Services. I am not sure how they have so many good reviews. The only thing I can say positive about them was that they followed up on the scheduled appointment and three people showed up on time. All of them looked at what we had to move and complained. There was a lot of "I don't knows" when they looked at the furniture. I was told they could disassemble desks and beds but the lead said it would be better if I did that. Before they started, I told all of them I was most concerned about the larger furniture pieces that my wife and I could not move with our truck. That went in one ear and out the other because they immediately started grabbing nightstands and small boxes. In fact, when the truck was filled there wasn't a small moving box left in the house, but there were several medium and large moving boxes along with all of the largest furniture pieces. I had to pay an extra $200 to watch all three of them move a refrigerator that I moved in myself. On top of that it seemed like they just stood around watching each other most of the day. On the way to our new property they decided to stop for lunch and then got lost. That cost me another $125. When I asked them if we could make two trips to get the rest they all replied that they would be too tired after 5 hours of work. When I asked if they could call their boss and see if there was anyone else available, they said to call him myself. There was no answer. As we started going through boxes, it was funny because none of them seemed to end up where it was labeled. I found a box with my printer and keyboard marked "office" in the garage. My kids had boxes marked "kitchen" in their rooms. I received a call from their boss later that night and he said he didn't have anyone available for two days but he wanted to schedule to finish the job then. I told him no with my wife shouting in the background to hang up on him. We hired another company that probably would've met our expectations normally, but blew us away because of this experience. read more

Very disappointed. Owner's pitch indicated caring and professional service, "loading and unloading." I needed movers to load a pod-type container, most of my stuff is still packed, some things need packing. The owner wrote back and said they "don't normally do that" and they "might be able to help if you (if I) supply packing materials." I'm 67 with a bad back and broken wrist. IMHO their ad was not representative of what they are actually willing to do. Owner is also apparently angry that I reported exactly what happened. No I didn't "use them" because they would not do what I needed. Not sure how this is ""trying too ruin their reputation." I told the truth about my experience. read more

Found Washington Moving Labor Services as a choice on the PODS website; they had the best Angie's List rating of the three listed. I was not sorry with my choice. They arrived pretty close to on time with an appropriately sized crew to unload my PODS container well within the time window I had booked. My schedule made it necessary to book them for New Year's Eve day--and they didn't flake out on me! I had some challenging pieces, size-wise, and they really worked hard to get all of my items up the stairs and placed. They were very respectful of my home. I'm writing this on behalf of my mother who recently moved across the country to Seattle. She attempted to write a review about this company, but it mysteriously never showed up. I have to agree with Derek W. below, I don't know how this company has such high reviews. Jason, in particular, was incredibly unhelpful towards my mom. Firstly, they don't even provide simple blankets or covers for furniture or other belongings in case of rain. They also don't put down runners to protect your carpet. My mom's HOA at her new condo would not allow her to park her pod outside of her place. Instead of offering solutions, Jason pretty much told my mom she was out of luck. They wouldn't go to the pod warehouse and bring her stuff to her condo. So of course my mom was forced to cancel with Jason because there was no way the scheduling would've worked out. Instead of having compassion, Jason charged my mom the $160 cancellation fee, knowing it wasn't her fault. When my mom called Jason, she was clearly upset. Jason simply hung up on her. Luckily I found Two Brothers in Bothell. They provided covers, runners, and went to the pod warehouse no questions asked. Jason was unhelpful and rude to my elderly mom the entire time. I think it was a blessing in disguise that she had to cancel. Stay away from this company. read more

The two young men that came to move our household to a storage facility started off quite sluggishly and my husband wanted to send them home and bring two workers from the Home Depot parking. After I talked to their boss and nudged them myself they were quite effective. For the rest of the move everything went fine. We had lunch together and at the end we tipped them 10% of the move cost EACH. Only to find out later that they had left a huge TV set a a couple of heavy items in front of our elevator in our condo building. On the last way down to the garage they were the last ones to use the elevator and left it sitting there until neighbors notified later that night. We had to lift that heavy TV set ourselves and we are not young people. I called Jason, the boss, to tell him that and he never bothered to call me back and apologize. Very disappointed. read more
