What a great experience we had with Music Box. First, received a call a day before to confirm our appointment between 8-9. The guys showed up at 8:30..perfect! I initially thought this process was going to take a while because living in a townhouse which is narrow, needing to navigate 14 steps and a tight turn is not easy. Easiest move ever booked! Contacted them via email and they responded with a quote in about an hour - booked and coordinated with the other party within a day. Movers came within the hour they estimated (on both ends) and were friendly, polite and professional. Our piano was an upright and had to be moved from Richmond to North-East Vancouver, up about 10 steps with a doorway and tight turn inside. They made it look easy. They used moving blankets to make sure nothing was scratched or damaged and were very careful when placing the piano in its spot. Price was what they had quoted - very reasonable. When I bought a secondhand upright piano, these guys did a great job of moving it to its new home. The owner was friendly and organized, and his price was just over half of the other piano movers I called. They gave hour-long pickup and delivery windows, and were on time with my piano. Apparently most of their business is delivering pianos bought from music stores, so these folks seem to know their stuff. Plus, hiring them sure beats trying to move a piano yourself. read more

Recently used Music Box Piano Movers to move my baby grand piano. First off, the piano had no business being where it was (inside a typical vancouver townhouse). The move in was incredibly complex, but the move out was going to be even more complicated (as it involved going down stairs and two tight right angle turns). I think if I hadn't called this company, other movers might have given up on the job. It looked pretty bleak... piano might have been stuck inside forever, but they didn't give up, even after a lot of time had passed. They finally got it out and I was super relieved. Worst experience ever. I retained this company despite it being pricier than most other movers because based on their website, they seem quite professional. The company called me when arriving at the place for delivery. When I picked it up they had hung up, so I called them back immediately but no one picked up. Then I called again and left a message. Later, my assistant from my office called and said they called my workplace and were extremely angry. I called them again and they said they had been waiting for me for 15 minutes at the place of delivery. I don't blame them completely on this one but would assume that a professional company would leave me a message telling me they have arrived instead of calling my workplace and give attitude to my assistant. My mom who was to receive the piano immediately went down to meet them. It was a condo building so they were told by the resident caretaker to wait for five minutes for the elevator as someone was wrapping up with moving out. The movers threatened to leave right away. I heard over my mom's phone that they were shouting at my mom and told my mom they would leave or it would cost her much more. Even the resident caretaker came out to shout at them saying it was unreasonable for them to not expect any wait time for delivery to a condo with an elevator. Eventually, to prevent them from taking away my piano, my mom agreed to pay them more. They asked for $50 cash from my mom and she paid them around $35. They changed their attitude completely when they received the extra cash and became super friendly. Will never use this company again. read more

Everything about the process from start to finish was super easy. We called and they gave us a reasonable quote, told us they could move the piano by the end of the week and got in touch with both parties the day before the move to confirm times. On the day of the move, they came within the one hour time slot they had given each party and everything was super simple and painless. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. This is the worst piano moving company! Please go elsewhere. They damaged my $5000 digital piano while moving it, didn't cover it in the rain, were extremely rude, and the guy on the phone started blaming me for the scratches on my piano! He said that it's probably "a vacuum cleaner that caused the scratches on my piano!" What a joke of a company! I also heard from another man today, who used their services that they used their dirty dolly to move an organ across the carpet of a house, leaving behind dirt tracks all along the room. When the elderly woman told them to stop, the mover replied with "Shit happens!" I originally decided to get my piano moved with this company because of their rave reviews. But maybe things have changed since then? I am not sure, but by all means avoid this company! You will thank me later. Update: I am taking this company to court because they are not willing to compensates me for the damages they caused! read more

Delivery guys were very rude. They definitely do not know what they are doing, their price quotes were way expensive but I decided to go because they were 'specialized in moving pianos'. BS. Dumped it on the side on a tiny platform and moved it like any generic delivery guys would've done so again, not worth the extra money. I'd been all okay with the attitude from the delivery guys and the fact that it was significantly more expensive then other businesses but the piano was damaged upon inspection. This is absolutely unacceptable, please stay away from these guys if you want your piano to be safe. read more
