Tiramisu is my favorite cake and they do it right here. I tried the small pistachio and medium classic tiramisus. The pistachio was good but a little too rich for me, the classic tiramisu was perfect. Highly recommend trying it out. read more

Oh wow, that was some good tiramisu :) My ranking: pistachio, caramel, then coffee. Hubby's ranking: coffee (he's an "original" kinda guy, like plain cheesecake), caramel, then pistachio. Caramel is very sweet. Pistachio has a very strong flavor and I really enjoyed the nuttiness. Coffee tasted plain to me after trying the other 2 that were more flavorful. 2.5€ for small. Credit card accepted. The lady was nice and was able to wrap it up for us to take back to our hotel. read more

I will disclaim this review by saying I'm base-level not a huge fan of Tiramisu. That being said, the strawberry tiramisu is one of the better iterations I've had, probably because it didn't taste like coffee. It was almost like a more decadent strawberry shortcake. I also got the caramel which was more like conventional tiramisu with caramel in it. I appreciate that they make the little sizes because that was exactly how much tiramisu I wanted, and I liked being able to try different flavors without having to commit. The price was reasonable, I think a small was something like 2euro. read more

Perhaps the best Tiramisù I've ever had. The traditional Tiramisù was great--the taste of coffee wasn't too sharp or too weak, and the dessert was served at the perfect temperature. The peanut butter Tiramisù took things took the next level--who knew Tiramisù was better when it went all in on peanut butter flavors? Highly recommended to anyone looking for good Tiramisù in Rome. read more

Thought it was a tourist trap at first because it self proclaims to be the best tiramisu in Rome , but after my local friends raved about this place to me , I decided to give it a try. It's a very cute shop. Small and quaint. The employee I talked to was very friendly and sweet. My only issue comes with the taste of the tiramisu: I LOVE tiramisu so I was really excited about this place, as it claims to be the best tiramisu is town. So, I got the big size of the classic. I got maybe a third way into it and it was very sweet; overly sweet. Halfway through, I got a bit sick from how sweet it was. Also, the cake part at the bottom was wetter than I was comfortable with. It's not the best tiramisu in town. It's very sweet. But if you have a high tolerance for sugar and don't mind a bit of moist cake, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. read more

Truly the best tiramisu I have ever had. I'm not a huge fan of tiramisu in America, but this could change my mind. I got the small strawberry and my husband got the traditional large size. We both couldn't get over how unbelievably delicious it was! We almost came back the next night be were too tired from walking around. I've had tiramisu once in my life and never liked it but I stumbled upon this place by accident after eating next door and it had a long line so I decided to see what the commotion was. I got the pistachio and peanut butter tiramisu and it was amazing! It was so creamy and not too sweet. It's really hard to pick a favorite but I think I like the pistachio more but both are great and soooo good. This place caught my eye! It's a tiny shop but the rows and rows of tiramisu caught my attention. The name pretty much explains it's --they have two sizes. They also have a variety of flavors such a strawberry, peanut butter, pistachio, original, etc. It was delightful. Service was awesome and the lady that was serving (possibly the owner) was so kind. 5 stars all the way. We binged on a lot of gelato and tiramisu on our trip and this was definitely the best dessert we had in Italy. Stopped here to get a cappuccino and couldn't resist getting a Tiramisu after looking at the long queue of people outside this mini shop and I am so glad we did. The Pistachio was such a delight to eat, super creamy yet light, not too sweet and served at the perfect temperature. I haven't had anything like it before. It comes in a bite size and a regular size - I would get multiple flavors in the bite size to be able to try out more flavors. This place is in a convenient location near Piazza Navona. Two sizes is a LIE! And it's a beautiful lie, because they now have bite sized tiramisus, making it THREE sizes AND making it possible to try even more flavors! If you've been eating your way through Italy and Rome the way we have, then add this place to your list to take a break from gelato but still indulge your sweet tooth. The girl behind the counter was super nice and patient with our deliberations. My man went straight for the big peanut butter, while I got a small peanut butter, a small pistachio and then couldn't resist a bite sized strawberry! Great place to get tiramisu! There are different sizes and different flavors. Make this a stop along your way walking to and from the city. Pair it with an espresso if you like as well. We had a big group so we decided to try 6 of their tiramisu flavors. Each serving came in a little cup. I found the cake-soaking level to be on the wet side of the tiramisu spectrum (giggle). I usually prefer more marscapone and more rum flavor but this was still a nice treat and super convenient. The winners: - the classic (of course) - the pistachio (which had a much more pronounced pistachio flavor than I was expecting) - the peanut butter (this tasted very peanut-y without feeling artificial) The meh's: - the caramel flavor (it tasted like artificial yellow cake mix, and not like fresh caramel at all) - the strawberry- it was a pointless endeavor to add strawberry sauce to slightly chocolately tiramisu - the lemon- I actually hated the lemon, which wasn't a fresh lemon flavor at all but more like limoncello infused crap (if you like limoncello then ok you will like this, but if you're expecting some sort of homemade lemon tart freshness, don't bother with this) Overall, I liked the convenience of this place and the variety, but overall the tiramisus were too wet and not quite rich enough for me. read more

We got the coffee (original) and pistachio-- so creamy and rich; would definitely recommend both and so reasonably priced. So I have to start by saying that I am not a fan of tiramisu, but because I was in Rome I had to try it. I am so glad we came to this place. First of all you have to recognize this place exclusively specialized on tiramisu so they have their recipe right. Light and fluffy. 4.5- The cashier was extremely nice and answered many of our questions. There are two sizes of tiramisu, big and small, and I found that charming b/c that's the name of the store. The reason i have 4.5 is because the cream in the original tiramisu is a little sweet for my taste, and there should be more rum and espresso powder. However, that's just my personal taste. The pistachio tiramisu was less sweet and more strong and flavorful. I bumped my rating up to a five because the cashier was too nice and the store has a cute style. I asked for a sticker to add to my collection back at home and the cashier gladly gave me a few. You must come here for a quick bite after dinner or a substitute for gelato throughout the day. read more

Great tiramisu. I visited when the main shop was closed and they were only serving the OG tiramisu (no pistachio) from another restaurant, but it was excellent and worth the calories. Tiramisu is a difficult dessert to execute well, but this was a great balance of having layers of lady fingers that were moist enough to texturally contrast with the layers of marscapone but not too hard that it was chewy. And it was sweet without being overpoweringly so. My one complaint is that the layer of cocoa powder on top of the tiramisu was too thick, which without addressing, gave the tiramisu an unfortunate sense of being too dry. (It was easy enough to knock some off to solve this.) read more

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.
