I had my first visit to Two Hands Chiropractic & Acupuncture a week ago, and met with Dr. Christine Pan. She is Awesome! She has a warm and welcoming personality and patiently answered all of my questions. While I didn't have any major complaints or discomfort at the time of my visit, I shared the things "wrong with me" per a chiropractor I met with previously. (Left leg shorter than right, C1 or 2 out of alignment). Dr. Christine (and Two Hands) takes a holistic approach to treatment, which I appreciate. I absolutely loved the soft tissue massage/ manipulation to work with the muscles in concert with the joints. She did some work on my ribs (under the scapula), one or two other areas along the spine, and hips. And my right foot, which I broke a few years back. (I didn't even know it was possible to have more mobility on the outer top/side of the foot!) The whole process was really interesting to me. Christine also told me about an exercise I can do for my hip flexors, that I hadn't heard of before. I absolutely recommend Dr. Christine to anyone looking for a chiropractor! read more

"LOVE" does not even begin to scratch the surface of how I feel about the Two Hands team!!!! I transferred to Two Hands with a bad taste in my mouth about chiropractic care. My former chiro and his staff were stereotypes of the industry: "You'll never be able to continue to walk or sleep if I don't see you ten times every week for the rest of your life!!!" But from the moment I called and spoke to Emily, the office manager, I felt assured that that wasn't going to be the case here; it most certainly wasn't. These women truly care about the overall well-being of every patient. Aja and Patti, the massage magicians, find and focus on areas that I wasn't even aware were/are problematic and Dr. Shanna (Fritsch) completes my care by putting everything back into alignment through an adjustment and acupuncture. Now when I say "overall well-being," I literally mean "OVERALL." Dr. Shanna is also a specialist in nutrition and Eastern Medicine. I had a cancer scare during the Summer of 2010 and Dr. Shanna helped me round out my care, doing tons of research before meeting with me so that she would have the best plan possible. I am an acupuncture veteran, so when I moved to Chicago and started feeling really stressed, I sought a place to resume my treatment. Many of the acupuncturists I've been to have wanted me to come in 4x/week, but I see Dr. Shanna weekly and am doing better. I honestly don't know where my stress would be if it wasn't for her help. Acupuncture is great- I can feel myself unclench when the needle goes into the top of my head (acupuncture needles are so thin, I almost never feel them apart from the anti-stress ones I get in my ear). I have dozed off on those massage tables many times. Dr. S also has helped me to discover the wonders of probiotics (good digestion = good health), and gave me supplements for adrenal support when my stress exhaustion got overwhelming. I love that they always have tea bags and cups ready so I can have a cup of tea in the waiting room, and the Chinese medicinal teas (Life Rising) she stocks are great. I can't find anything comparable elsewhere. She also has an eye for good skincare- the Liliflora products are great! Dr. S is ordering me an eye cream. It's nice to have an acupuncturist whose office is centrally located and who I can communicate with well (I love seeing doctors from China, but sometimes the language barrier can be a problem.) I only wish my insurance covered cosmetic acupuncture. :) I look forward to my visits here. read more

Dr Shanna is not only knowledgeable, but she has the best bedside manner. she makes you feel comfortable, she explains everything that she's doing during your visit and everything she recommends you do outside of the office. i've come to Dr Shanna quite a few times for quite a few reasons, and i always leave knowing i made the right choice. i went to her originally 2.5 years ago for acupuncture to quit smoking, and i'm happy to report that because of her (and a little bit of willpower :) i've been smoke-free ever since. read more

I've gone to a few appointments and have quite a few more on the books right now. I was a little annoyed at first because the office team seemed to have gotten my phone number incorrect twice, resulting in them failing to call me to cancel an appointment (due to me not having xrays in on time, so, mostly my bad). The woman behind the counter also called me by the wrong name a couple of times, which is a bummer. I had to get blood work and xrays before she would work on me, which started off as troublesome as I have a creaky shoulder and neck that has been KILLING me for months and I just wanted someone to pop it into place. Anyways, I finally got all my tests in and was able to talk to Dr. Fritsch. She was great. She really takes the time to listen to you and ask all about your health issues and concerns. She went through my blood work with me line by line and explained every detail of what it meant. She also set me off on some vitamins that I had unknowlingly been deficient of. I was amazed at how passionate she was about helping me figure out my problems based on my past history. She gave me an alignment and taught me some quick exercises that I can do at work to relieve the pain. I'm really looking forward to my next visit. Side note, I was blown away by what she was able to deduce of mine, and my families, health historys from just a short amount of information. I suffer from endometriosis and adynomiosis. These are conditions that my mom and grandmother also had. When I told her this the first question she asked was "do they have issues with their gallbladders?" My mom and my grandma had both had to have theirs removed. I had no idea that the issues were connected. She told me that the next thing that most people with these conditions will suffer from are liver problems. Crazily, my mother called me the same week telling me that her liver enzymes were high and she had to go in for testing. Wish I had gone to see Dr. Fritsh years ago.. This doctor would not see me because I would not provide my credit card number over the phone. They had my insurance information already and could have obtained a credit card number once I arrived, but they cancelled the appointment. There are many other caring doctors out there whose priority is to treat your pain. This practice is unethical and puts patient's financial information at risk. read more

If anything ails you, go see Dr. Shanna. Acupuncture does NOT hurt (at least not with Dr. Shanna, I've never had it anywhere else). My acupuncture sessions at Two Hands were soooooo relaxing and EFFECTIVE. Dr. Shanna is a great doctor and has a great personality. The first time I went to Two Hands, I had been told by 4 or 5 MDs (including specialists) that they couldn't figure out how to help me get well. Dr. Shanna had me feeling better than I even hoped for (or could have imagined I could feel) after four sessions of acupuncture. I live in DeKalb, and it's absolutely worth the trip. That's an understatement. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

Dr. Shanna is gifted. She puts pieces of the puzzle together like no other doctor I have ever been to. I'm 44 years old and had been suffering incapacitating PMS for most of my life. Instead of telling me everything was "normal", Dr. Shanna believed what I told her about my symptoms, which were all across the board; bad cramps, clumsiness, intense mood swings, moderate to serious depression, hunger cravings, etc. Honestly, after 30 years of dealing with this every month - I thought I had to live with it until menopause. Dr. Shanna guided me through a rational and accessible treatment program, and about 90-95% of my symptoms are gone. It's been a few years since I underwent treatment and I'm still amazed someone was able to work this out with natural remedies. Dr. Shanna is also really nice to work with. Dr. Shanna has a healing gift and I am so thankful to have found her. Upon moving to Chicago, I didn't know who to trust. I was looking for someone who offered cupping which helps my back. I was surprised to have found a doctor who treats the whole person. I wasn't expecting to find relief and help for all the other issues I had been experiencing that stumped my doctors and their specialist. Dr. Shanna did a complete history with me. She is very detail oriented and explains everything. They work with you to make a treatment plan and she explains everything. Dr. Shanna does an amazing job. I've been to several chiropractors over the years and have never found one to be so effective and easy to work with. I've had some ongoing back issues for years that I've seen specialists for but never had the patient, thorough assessment that Dr. Shanna provides. Between chiropractic and acupuncture the results have been amazing. Wiping out on my bike set me back a little, but she was able to get me up and riding again in no time! I really want to give Dr. Shanna 10 stars. I was involved in an accident in December 2012, with a severe concussion and whip lash. I was not in good shape at all, you couldn't even touch my back, and I was in agony from pain. Now, I'm doing fantastic and even back to working out. She was always very nice, professional, and I really felt like she cared about me getting better. When my primary doctor tried to tell me to not continue seeing her (because of her skepticism of chiropractors), I told her I don't know what you heard, but I know what I have EXPERIENCED. "She is healing me doc, so thank you for your advice, but I'm going to do what I think it is best." Dr. Shanna is also very patient. It took me awhile to heal but she never rushed it. It wasn't like with other docs that kick you out the door. GREAT doctor and I would recommend her to all my family, friends, and colleagues. read more

I just got adjusted last night and really feel the difference today! I feel like I am standing up straighter, sitting with better posture, and not making disgruntled faces while rubbing my neck. Dr. Shanna and her team are amazing! I started seeing Dr. Shanna over 2 years ago when she introduced me to The Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture Program. It is a multi-week program intended to enhance skin complexion and reduce signs of aging. For me it actually rebalanced and Fixed my face! I never really had acne but I would get occasional under the skin pimples that were painful and annoying! I have always had really dry skin and esteticians in the past have said that because I was so dry nothing would surface. After 6 weeks of 30 minute sessions 2 days a week of accupuncture my face is fixed! It is just completely rebalnced, refreshed, and I have NO MORE problems with breakouts! EVER! I went to Two Hands because it is covered on my insurance, and I was in dire need of help managing back pain and stress. Not even three pages into reviewing my patient history Dr Shanna started trying to sell me skin care, then probiotics. I told her finances were a great source of stress for me, and that I work another job just to get by. She proceeded to recommend a $170 test--not covered by insurance--to confirm just how I was stressed and how many of 7 supplements I'd benefit from to overcome the stress. She's more saleswoman than doctor, and is very persistent about selling. I actually walked out of the office before receiving any treatment, because it is obvious she doesn't want to actually TREAT patients, but rather get them to buy buy buy. I'm very disappointed, because my pain and stress continue, and now I'm out a co-pay and have to find a new doctor. I expect better from someone who is certified. read more
