First visit I tried an americano but second visit I got aeropress. On both visits I chose a giant cookie and the quality was the same on both visits. This is a place for hipsters to chill out but hey where isn't these days?? There was a mix of families and hipsters here too. The funniest sight I observed was one couple having coffee together. He was reading a newspaper and she was on her iPad - was like they brought their Sunday morning out (which is awesome as this is a v nice setting for it!) I do like the coffee here but unfortunately it's a bit of a trek from D15 to visit too often

Very cool cafe that roast and blend their own coffee. Their house blend is really good - half Rwandan / half Guatemalan. Friendly staff and plenty of coffee options. Food menu is fairly light, and includes a lot of cheese. Good spot to chill out at - although on Saturdays there are a lot of parents & kids due to the swan swimming pool next door.

    Annoyingly small handle. Delicious coffee.

This place has my favourite sandwich in Dublin, the smoked salmon. It's unreal. It's an open sandwich so not too much bread which I like but might not suit those with bigger appetites. If there is a heaven they eat this sandwich there every day. I can't comment on any of the other food as I can never resist going for my favourite but it all looks delicious coming out of the kitchen and I've been told is great by people I've been there with. Coffee is fab too and they roast their own inhouse. My only gripe is their cups (pictured), these are my pet hate with such a tiny handle that it's almost impossible to pick them up. I like my coffee hot so it's a bit of a conundrum, have to wait for it to cool down before I can hold the blooming thing. I've no idea why decent coffee places use these cups! That said I still love the place and you should definitely go there.

Since I was around Ranelagh area I had to try this place. It wasn't a surprise it was packed and I almost left. However, that super nice waitress told me she would find a way to able for us - and she actually did! I had to share a table w/ a couple but they were not annoying at all so it was OK. The place is lovely with a very simple decoration - warehouse style. It is a kinda of a hipster place, so beware! Haha the place smells like coffee (and cheese?!) but no issues with that. I saw cakes from distance so I had to get up and check it myself- it wasn't in the menu. I chose and almond & raspberry cake. Delicious! Drooling here... Anyway, I had a long black coffee(very good) and a croissant - full of ham and grated cheese. It was super big. My friend had that Spanish dish and it was beautiful! I had a good experience, would def come back =)

    Ham and cheese croissant, perfect!

Best place in Rathmines! I went twice to this nice place, and the twice was excellent! The first time it was for a brunch, I took the ham and cheese croissant, hot chocolate and the avocado + feta sandwich, it was all so tasty! And the second time it was for lunch and I took they 250 salad, so fresh and tasty!

Until yesterday I was a fan. Ill explain why in a minute. Firstly I am a coffee addict and if there were a 12 step programe for coffee I would attend or be sentenced, not sure which. Two Fifty Squared roast their own and their equipment is amazing as you can see from the counter or directly in front of you when you walk in. I was here on the opening day by accident I might add, I was waiting for someone and walked past it. People love the coffee, me not so much. I find it bitter. I have had it many times, 3 times in the last 4 days and all bitter. The food on the other hand is outstanding. The chef and I call him that as even though the food is basic, what comes out of that tiny open kitchen is nothing if not fabulous. The sandwiches are great, the chipolte fab however my favourite is the avocado, garlic, basil and ??? It was unbelievable. The flavours were fantastic. The soup is excellent and full of flavour also and yesterday I had the baked potato with chili as I was trying to be good. Excellent and filling also. Yesterday when I arrived I was met by about 15 buggies the size of mini coopers and mothers babies, young babies everywhere. you couldn't move, they were all parked inside the door and anywhere they could cutting off customers and fencing them into their tables if they were sitting or blocking the table if not. If that wasn't bad enough they kept coming, and they weren't all meeting each other. So the pile of buggies kept growing, blocking the exit completely at one point. The noise was excruciating. So here's the deal, I am in fact a proud mom, I also have 3 nephews approaching 3 years of age. I dont hate kids. I do however have an aversion to rude parents. In what universe is it ok to block people in, take up enough room for 8 people by the sheer amount of stuff you carry and bloody hell, when in a place of business fold up your buggy and think about others. Then in a restaurant, do not bring your own food and if this is impossible, do not come. Its the height of rudeness and bad manners to think you are more important than others. On the other hand I feel it go so bad it was a fire hazard as the entrance and exit were blocked and management should have said something. I normally spend about 80 a week here and its over now. We are officially breaking up. I will miss the great food but Dublin is filled with great restaurants and cafes offering great service so why go somewhere the management wont speak up because at the end of the day it isn't cheap. Almost 10 euro for one small potato. Over 10 for an sandwich gets expensive for lunch daily.

Another really great coffee spot in the city! Once of those places where you can just stick you head in the door and know you're going to get a decent cup! The place is full of all good signals that they know what they're on about when it comes to coffee, Filters, aeropress's for sale, 2 or 3 coffee grinders on the go, a filter coffee station, all that fun stuff! They have different coffee beans for sale on the right as you walk and the have from which country, area, farm and altitude each one is grown in! and brown sugar on all the tables. It has a small open kitchen you can look into while you have your coffee in the corner as well. The place looks like an old converted warehouse, That has been made very warm with rough finished woods, pale and pastel walls and also brick and chipboard. The tables and chairs are straight out of the hipster handbook and are of course all mismatched, with a few comfy sofas on the far side, I like it my kind of joint Didn't have any food so won't comment on it but the coffee is great! I got a latte (served in a glass) and its was dam good! Staff there were all nice and friendly as well. Quirky feature of the place is that you get your own water from a copper pipe mounted on the wall, no tap just a industrial ball valve to turn it on and off which I though was really cool. In short a great spot, that will be revisiting : )

The food and coffee are excellent. As a vegetarian it's nice to have a menu that allows for more than one or two choices. Great for brunch with friends, though if you're going to do work the plug situation is a bit bleak and it can get very loud (though that's to be expected in a busy café, I suppose). The staff could be nicer - a bit sassy for my liking but it doesn't make or break the experience for me.

Nice, really nice. I had really nice breakfast with a very professional staff. I am a bit fussy if it comes to ordering food, I like my coffee in a certain way, that applying to the food as well. I was very pleased with what I've got. I had scrambled eggs which were fluffy and tasty, spicy tomato sauce and some Mayo. The only disappointment came of the avocado ( really tiny slice, barely 1/4of it). My boyfriend take the Moroccan eggs which were completely raw but served in a dish that cook them gradually in front of him, amazing. I will definitely come back for more.

Roasted on site in dublin 6 and cited as the best coffee of 2014 by the Irish times

Amazing food, really chilled atmosphere and the coffee is out of this world! We visited part way through Ireland's last game as part of the rugby World Cup (they got put out whilst we were scarfing delicious food) and the place was deserted but we still got amazing service and were made to feel totally welcome. Sunday feels in the best possible way, juice in jam jars, exposed brick and all the newspapers a brunch could need. We'll be back!!

    The happiest brunch ever!

The first day we arrived to Dublin, I had a bit of a headache. I sent my husband in search of coffee and a bite in the hopes of warding off the headache. He brought back a tuna melt and mocha from The Bald Barista. Both were excellent. The tuna melt was herbaceous and flavorful and the mocha was the perfect blend or rich chocolate and strong espresso. So, a few days later when my mom arrived and was hoping for coffee and a bite, I said--I've got just the place! On that visit, we enjoyed our coffee and food in house. You order at the counter where you enter and if you're dining in, you simply take the stairs to the dining room and they'll bring you both your food and coffee. This time, I ordered the same coffee (why mess with a good thing) and a yogurt with everything (fruit, nuts, seeds--the works!). The shop itself is cute, warm, and inviting. The service is top notch with beautifully friendly folks working in here (including the Bald Barista himself). If you're in Dublin and are looking for an exemplary cuppa and some tasty bites served with a smile--this is your spot. Get to it!

They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. I was unfamiliar so afterward I looked them up. here is the link if anyone is interested. (https://mccabecoffee.com) Local award winning Cork roaster. I watched the Barista, fill the grinder and then told me it would be a minute as she needed to dial in the espresso. I shook my head in a circle like I didn't get it but okay. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN. I am breaking my own rule here, I can because they are my rules, they don't roast but they use fantastic local Micro-roasted beans and prepare my drink to perfection.
