I was sadly disappointed with Craft Coffee Roasters. I was really looking forward to my visit yesterday, as I love specialty coffee and my in-laws are traveling with my husband and I for a short time, so I wanted them to experience it in Dublin during our time together. I had read on Craft's website in advance that their coffee is hand-roasted and they feature supplied baked goods and artwork on their walls, the perfect recipe for a hipster-vibe, independent coffee roaster and cafe in an urban environment! While there was plenty of indoor seating to choose from on our weekday, mid-morning visit and the cafe did have a relaxed, enjoy-your-coffee-to-stay vibe, the baristas were not consistent in delivering the same product. My father-in-law and I both ordered decaf lattes and my mother-in-law ordered a latte (with caffeine). All three of our latte drinks presented differently with varying degrees of milkiness to them (my mother-in-law's looked the darkest, and I believe, tasted the best; unfortunately, mine was too light and milked-down for my taste, as I could barely pick up on and appreciate the aroma and flavor of my latte). My latte art was sloppy and I could sort of make out a blurred heart, while the other two looked neat (again, my mother-in-laws looked the nicest). There was a bit of a rush at the register when we'd arrived, so it's entirely possible this could be why, but still, I don't believe the quality should suffer as a result. Our pastries were okay (we shared a brownie and croissant). My in-laws and husband enjoyed their drinks, so I'm glad they had a good experience even if mine wasn't what I'd hoped for. read more
