I really hate to write a negative review with restaurants struggling to be profitable (which is why I'm giving 3 stars and not 2), but this being the 3rd time in a row my order was grossly over-cooked, I need to post the experience. First it was the coconut prawns... twice (and the 2nd time I pleaded that they not be over-cooked), but alas, they came out that way again. The coconut should not be dark brown (and I mean dark) and the prawns shouldn't be rubbery. Tonight I ordered sliders, medium (because I've found chefs "cooks" have a tendency to go under...woulda been happy with anything from medium rare to medium (which is how I ordered them). Not only were they not medium rare, or medium, or even medium well... they were beyond well-done...over-cooked to death and were SO dry I could only choke down one (because I was really hungry, and it took my entire pint to wash/choke it down)... no lie. What the hell. If you are a restaurant cook (I won't even say chef), then you should know how to cook proteins properly (or at least, to-order), and not just sling food off the menu with no care to the product. Ugh! So disappointed. The bar and vibe that draws in a certain demographic keeps them going...certainly not their food. read more

Fun, casual, atmosphere.. lots of amazing menu choices.. pretty sure my fish (and chips) were a famous frozen brand but they were crispy and delicious and I would order them again. The tots were delicious. There is so many different choices from Cambodian salads, burgers, pizza, soup, spring rolls, etc. it was hard to decide. There is a few picnic tables outside on the walk way and the restaurant has two large doors that open the bar area and seating allowing people with dogs to gather near the door. Everyone (including dogs) was relaxed and all the food looked great. Perfect for happy hour gathering. Will definitely go back. read more

Jake the bartender is as best as it comes to bartenders. He is always working his butt off and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is taken care of, including his staff. Luma, Shauna, Marissa, Amanda, Cheryl, and Beau also work just as hard to take care of all the customers. This is a great place for food/drinks. I HIGHLY recommend. read more

Good food and an outdoor eating area that is safe and clean.

Good menu selection, staff is friendly, orders don't take long to come out. Sometimes their burgers are undercooked (hence 4 stars). It's a little pricey. With tip, over $45 for two burgers with side (fries, cole slaw, etc) and two fountain drinks. I must say though, their burgers are tasty (when not undercooked). read more

If you think Bruno's has terrible service and nasty food, definitely come to Two Doors for a much better experience. The food here is great and the service is fantastic. We've been here a million times and I honestly think we've ordered everything off the menu - and everything is delicious. I am looking for forward to their Halloween party this year! read more

Vegetarians beware!!! The service was not great at this place. I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I ordered a beyond Burger and I have a gluten allergy and the person behind the counter taking my order was very nonchalant about it which always scares me because I get really sick if I ingest gluten. Therefore, I ordered a lettuce wrapped beyond Burger since I am a vegetarian and gluten free. When the burger finally came up it was lettuce wrapped but it looked like a real burger. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I do make beyond meat burgers at my house where I use their pound beef and mix it and can somewhat look like a burger depending on how I cook it. I reluctantly took a bite and immediately noticed that it was MEAT not a beyond Burger a big fat juicy hamburger they served a vegetarian of 30 years!!! I spit it immediately out took it back to the counter the guy was very apologetic and said he was going to refund me my money so I was okay with it. However, when I got my credit card statement back they did not refund me!! I left a voicemail on their message machine two days ago telling them this and that was not cool to feed a vegetarian of 30 years meat and then tell me they were going to credit me back for it and not credit me back for it. Guess what?? Nobody even bothered to call me back or return my call when I left a message for them two days ago... I would absolutely never recommend this place nor will I ever patron here again!! read more

This is a burger and pizza restaurant that is adjacent to Jia Tella's . Owned by the same family, Two Doors has great options! We had the Ripley, Burn Reynolds and Pipeline. Of the 3 burger orders, we had tator tots, French fries, and sweet potato fries so that we all could share and swap. All delish! The great thing is that since they're adjacent to Jia Tella's, I was actually able to order from the Asian menu and everyone was happy with the options! read more

Could be better if the smokers didn't go outside the HUGE garage bay doors and smoke allowing smoke to blow in where everyone is trying to eat. They might as well have stayed and smoked at their table, it was no different. Be great if the owner would send smokers to do their thing far away from the people eating in any of the restaurants near there. read more

Two Doors is great for yummy food and drinks! It's awesome to have a great place to meet and gather and overall my husband and I really like it! The ONLY reason for the 3 star review has to do with the type of entertainment that is shown on the TVs, the music that plays and sometimes the staff. During our dinner one night there was a pretty graphic (but ok for TV apparently) sex scene that was a little offensive and I just kept wondering what if children would have been present in the restaurant. Then another night I got to listen to hard core rap. I'm not old, but even for a sports bar place it just didn't feel appropriate. On a couple occasions I've noticed the younger staff kind of treat the establishment like it's a high school hangout, or a frat house, and they throw towels (or maybe it was trash) from the register over the table between the bar and bussing station, laugh and play around. There are a few who work really hard that is for sure, but I wanna tell those other teens to have some pride in their job and be professional. One night I swore they were smoking pot in the back, and happened to leave the back door open (this is a theory cause my husband couldn't decide if it was pot but i swear it smelled like it). Again great food and drinks... I just wish they could clean up the atmosphere a little. read more

I will start this of by saying that i do account for all the past reviews before me, and some can can be dismissed due to a new business figuring things out. I am a little biased given ive worked here from the beginning, but only a worker who truley loves this place on and off the job will write a rewiew. The food here might be a little pricey, but the taste, especially the burgers and sliders, make up for every penny! Defiantly order your fried food extra crispy, there so much better that way. As for the beer, there are alot of IPA's, but there's always something for everyone. The staff here are genuinely nice and compassionate people. We all have been in scotts valley for some time now and really appericate friendly faces:) Overall, i would rate this as one of the best places to eat in scotts valley. Decent food. But way overpriced. $16 burgers? It's a sports bar, not Oswald's. $8 for a Black Butte Porter, normally a $5-6 beer anywhere else. The lunch special is more reasonable - but you get just one option. The kids menu cost $9.50! Really? Highest I've ever seen anywhere...ever. The beer selection is so-so. Lots of mainstream microbrews: Sierra, Lagunitas, etc. Not much interesting. No dark beers in general. Not much in the way of local beers. If you want beer, I'd go next door to steel bonnet. Better variety and more reasonably priced. Can be extremely loud when crowded on he weekends - assisted by loud music playing over the sound system. Ok if you like shouting to have a conversation. Not something I enjoy. Ok service for lunch during the week, but for dinner on a Friday night it was not so good. Very, very slow. I've given it a few tries. I don't think I'll be back. read more

We had a very nice experience at two doors for my bday. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The service is great and our food was as well. So many options on the menu it's hard to decide. We had sliders and fries and they were delicious. The patio is heated and plenty of room. You can also order from their other restaurant Jia tellas which is awesome. The kids got the bento box and it was a big hit. They were family friendly and perfect for a night off cooking at home. read more

I'll have to give this place one more try. In the space of the old HopHead, it's been redesigned and has a really nice looking wraparound bar to the full bar next door (called "Next Door") through a knocked down portion of the wall separating the two. As noted in other reviews, the prices are very high for what you get. The veggie burger is $13 and seemed like any old veggie pattie you could get from Costco. Burger in Santa Cruz/Aptos makes their own veggie patties and their specialty burgers are about $10. Much better there. They have a nice selection of 16 or so beers, but I was very disappointed with the beer pour itself. $7.50 for a pint, I expect to actually get a pint. But the top inch was foam, and if you do the math that's a full 25% less than a pint! 12 oz instead of 16 for $7.50. Maybe it was an aberration. I'll try it again, maybe with a pizza instead of a burger, but ultimately it will be the beer pour that decides things. read more

Great experience last night. Food was delicious, typical American bar food with some tasty exciting combinations, it was exactly what we were craving! The prices were affordable and portions were very large, and the cocktails were strong & excellent. They played good music too. We also had the best service we've had in a restaurent in a long time! Our waiter, Chad, was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our 2 year old fell in love with him. Chad made our dinner a super pleasant experience! We will be back. read more

Staff was brilliant (even though we sat on the bar side by mistake, we still got excellent service). Food was great, and the pickle chips were fried perfectly. I'm a traveling service technician and never in one town for more than a couple days. I refuse to go to the generic places unless I absolutely have too. I stopped in Scotts Valley CA today and stumbled into Two Doors. I absolutely love this place!!! Fun classic American atmosphere with great staff that are really friendly. The food is awesome!! I had the Barking Dog and their homemade chili. OMG!!! SOOOOOOO good!!!! Great beer selection. Lots of locals here so you know it's damn good!!!! Definitely coming back!!!! read more
