The tunes were spinning, the team are down right cool and ultra lovely to boot, the styling in this place makes me feel like we've time warped to 1950's Hawaii, complete with plastic flamingo drink stirs in my chocolate milkshake. Visiting Two Bit Villains has been our our MUST-DO list for a LONG time now and tonight we finally had a window to get there, and it lived up to all expectations and MORE. The shake was UH_mazing and entirely drinkable in one gulp!), the fries were crunchy and spicy and a super generous serve, the burgers super tasty! These guys make their own Soda's - The Dirty Root and Apple Pie are a life long favourite! The only problem was, we didnt stay long enough, Im missing it already. We'll be back soooon TBV! x

The hand crafted sodas here are what brought me in, but the burgers, hot dogs and staff are what have kept me a loyal customer. As a meat lover, I doubted the draw of vegan hotdogs, but HOT DAMN! Those wieners are without a doubt way better than the processed meat rubbish you usually find. On top of that the buns are super soft and the produce always fantastically fresh. The Veggie Burger is another winner, as is the Baron Burger. Personally I'm not a fan of the Nacho Man nachos... But hey, the rest is smashing so I have plenty of deliciousness to choose from.

two-bit villians opened in June of 2011 and is carving out a niche in Adelaide's rockabilly threads scene. There's a subtle touch of steam punk and skeleton for shoppers a little into the darker side. There's a few items for the fellas, but rightly the majority is ladies clothing, sunglasses and a few nice design-ey, gift-ey items. Prices are mid range, and some items could be considered inexpensive especially given the high quality. The Hot Couture label is well represented, along with a variety of local and international brands. It's also worth noting that they're interested in helping local designers. You will need to venture upstairs in Adelaide Arcade to visit this small, treasure filled boutique but it's worth going a little out of your way to have a look in this one.

I love this place. Went to experience the the space in Adelaide Arcade and I can see how the new space will allow them to grow. I was a little annoyed that we couldn't sit outside on the balcony but I'm sure that will be possible soon. Also the day we went a delivery hadn't arrived so the menu was reduced to a handful of items. Given we went to try the new stuff I was annoyed at this too. All that annoyance disappeared when the food came out and I was reminded why I love this place. It still needs time to grow into its new huge venue and I'll keep coming back to see how it progresses.

I never knew vegan food could taste this good. Situated upstairs in the Adelaide Arcade, the restaurant is definitely a hidden gem. Unlike other vegetarian restaurants, the food here is actually packed with flavour and spice rather than being bland and soft. Staff are lovely and the restaurant is well decorated with interesting hipster decore. They do a range of sodas however I have never tried them as I am not a fan of soft drinks. What I do like however is there El Bandido burger. The El Bandido contains a crunchy falafel-like patty made from soy. It is served with a spicy sauce that packs a small chilli hit. The patty is garnished with fresh shredded lettuce and tomato. I had the vegan variant of the burger with vegan cheese and it tasted quite spectacular. The Chilli Con Carne fries tastes just like a chilli con carne. The surprising part is that it contains no meat and also the cheese can be substituted for vegan cheese. The french fries are not too salty and are nice and crispy. I have also tried their Mac and Cheese which is just as good as non-vegan Mac and Cheese. The spicy lentil soup they have as a $10 special sometimes really packs a punch. The only downside of the soup is that you only get a really tiny bit of crunchy bread on the side. Definitely worth a try. Even if you are not a vegetarian or vegan. You will likely be surprised at how nice it is.

    Classic vegan veggie burger

Fantastic vegetarian burger and sweet shop on the 2nd floor in Rundle Mall. The interior is charming and retro, and the menu includes a variety of burgers and sides like nachos. They also have a drink menu full of shakes and sodas and a dessert menu with cakes, pie, and ice cream. Anything on the menu can be made vegan. I went with the Classic Villains burger which consists of a chickpea patty, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, and vegan cheese. The flavors were great and the overall burger was satisfying without being too greasy or salty. I really enjoyed the tomato salsa they used on it in place of regular ketchup. Slightly overpriced at $14, but worth it to support this great establishment. If you are vegan and in search of some tasty 'junk' food, you must try Two Bit Villains.

If I could live here, I would! Best vegan food ever! I love everything I've tried here. The sodas are perfect, the onion rings to die for, the Sloppy Joe was life changing - as was the Cheeseburger, I could go on!

Chilli cheese fries! Allot at least 10mins for baking!:)

Good awesome place. Nice service. Dirt root soda is the best! Chilli cheese fries is my fave!

    cheeseburger? it's not.
    Elias G.

Horrible experience. Waited 20 mins in line to order. 30 mins for food to be served. Finished in 5 minutes as the cheeseburger I ordered was disgusting. The bun was not appropriate for a cheese burger. It was burnt and would crumble upon touch. The patty was almost non existent. It was thinner than the slice of cheese. It was my first and last time here.

First of all, whiskey is native to the bluegrass state (KENTUCKY) and though whiskey is 'the drink' of the moment it's time too shall pass... Since the 1700s New Orleans is and has always been a rum city, but hey, why be bothered with the details or with authenticity, right? I mean who cares that the iconic poboy sandwich is supposed to be served on a French baguette (which could likely be sourced from another local biz just around the corner -Le Carpe Diem, Grenfell Street) when you could use a (possibly cheaper?) inferior Vietnamese roll? Back to the food: we sampled the fried chicken which was a very small serve for the price and it was accompanied by a mayonnaise 'sauce' - why is it needed? Is there bread to make a sandwich?!? Um, no. So, I gave it a go and found the sauce bland, tasteless, and utterly unnecessary. It's mayonnaise! With nothing else. Fried chicken in the States doesn't ever come with a sauce! Ever. Back to the chicken, it had a delightful crunch and was reasonably well seasoned but far too greasy. If served with grease glistening then it should sit on a piece of bread to soak up the oil OR should be blotted with paper. Not good. Next we had the Marlin tartar which was one of the few unique and creative takes on NOLA cuisine; it was presented on a crisp much like a Zapps' Potato Chip (for Western Hemi folks). This is something I can recommend without reservation. Then we sampled the rabbit stew - very, very tasty with just enough seasoning, however too much rice and not enough rabbit. One last thing, it is a total and complete sacrilege to have a Mardi Gras party on the first Friday of Lent. Pure and simple commercialization. If you can't do it on Shrove Tuesday, just give it up!

The interior design is unique and follows trend with the rest of the exposed brick, high metal stools, wooden floorboard, crates behind the bar look that most bars are going for now days. But the black and white theme, fake grass and bi-fold windows opening out onto Flinders St, had me at hello. The wine list is impressive and there isn't a bad list of boutique brews, but nothing game changing. Today we ordered: Garfish with chips and salad for $16.50 - good value if done right (unfortunately the fish was rubbery, chips undercooked and the aoili was the highlight) Chicken caesar wrap for $9.50 - bargain but too oily, soft chips and lacking in a salad filling. Bar service is incredibly friendly and efficient however we waited over 20 minutes for our meals to come out at lunch when it was reasonably quiet. Add on to that the fact that at this stage no food is available from 7am-12pm or 3-5pm and I feel the concept of turning an old Milk Bar concept into a cool bar, restaurant has lost the essence of the need for "convenience." This place is in it's 1st week of operation and I'm definitely going to give it a go in a couple of months to see how things iron out because as Liz A said, Flinders St needs a bit more hipness and booze injected into it and these guys could just do it!

The service & product I received from this quick transaction has firmly secured it as NOT one of those future places. Myself and my colleague walked in and stood at the bar waiting for what appeared to be The Manager and a Staff Member having an altercation. Something small but a conversation that should not be had in front of customers, let alone a conversation to keep customers waiting. Once their "chat" was over, we did not even receive a "hi" or a "hello" or a "sorry about that" but a very cold "what can I get you?" I ordered a "take away double shot espresso" and was met with the blankest of blank stares. I felt like I had just spoken in Chinese. I repeated myself but changed it up a little "an espresso but with an extra shot" more blank stares. Eventually she quizzically asked "is that a short black?" I responded, "yes, but with two shots of coffee instead of one". No apology or acknowledgement or for the confusion just a "that's $4.50" I handed over my money and my colleague then ordered - a "large take away latte" and received the same response "that's $4.50" she too paid her money. After a few seconds I asked, "sorry, I just want to double check, should have our coffees been the same price?" I felt like because of the earlier confusion perhaps I had been over-charged. Because surely, how can 2 shots of coffee with no milk & 2 shots of coffee with a large amount of milk cost the same? Who I assume was "The Manager" chimed in with "Well they both have 2 shots of coffee so yeah they are the same price" Call me crazy, but milk is not free right? I made a comment along the lines of "ohh ok, that's interesting" "The manager" then shot back "well that's the cost" I apologised and said "I'm sorry, I was just a little confused, we normally go to a place across the street (every single day!) and I get the same order for $3.20. We thought we would pop in to give you guys a try and I just thought it was unusual for both of our orders to cost the same, despite the large amount of milk" The Manager flatly replied "well your lucky to get that across the street then aren't you" He then very condescendingly showed me the take-away cup with the two shots of coffee in it and said "that's what you wanted right?" I felt embarrassed, belittled, undervalued & miss-understood throughout the entire transaction. And to top off the experience, the coffee itself was full of coffee grounds. They missed an opportunity to gain a very regular and repeat customer.
