Queen Street Café is a great demonstration of a fun creative team. The café itself is very decently sized. Lots of space inside and out. A big long communal table as well if you want to dine alone. During the weekends it does get quite busy, so be sure to get there early. The staff here are friendly and attentive. They are on the look out for when you are ready to order. I think looking back at previous reviews, they are getting better when it comes to service. I ordered the gnocchi with roasted seasonal veg. Lovely pan fried brussel sprouts, roasted pumpkin, spinach, and mushrooms. Best of all, the gnocchi was soooo sooo soft and buttery. Wow, it's been a long time since I have had gnocchi like this. Well done chef! So much flavour in this dish as well. What better to go with a veggie gnocchi than a carrot, orange, and ginger juice. It so so tasty and fresh. I look forward to my next visit Queen Street Cafe!

I don't personally want to have kids charging around in a cafe on the one hand, and in between tables and chairs on the side of a reasonably busy road on the other hand. I don't care how trendy it is and I certainly don't care how many young up and coming professionals are discussing the better stocks to buy since the global financial crisis at brunch; if they have children they should be watching them, especially if they insist on sitting outside next to a reasonably busy street. There is a level train crossing at one end of the block here and that means there are regular periods when several cars will be banked up and suddenly driving through. Half a dozen times I saw kids nearly get toppled by traffic while I was sitting here. I was most alarmed. There's such a great children's playground down the road, all fenced in and beautiful - up here in cafe la la land the adult were so engrossed in the food and conversation they just ignored a few kids who were evidently still in play mode. I have decided the place gets enough custom without me talking about the lovely furniture or the strictly word of mouth policy that the owners have - no business card, no brochure, no website... just word of mouth; well, the word of mouth at my mid morning soiree was "Watch out!" Seriously, I'd rather eat somewhere else and leave all the swank alone.

Ordered the Sunshine Poachie, which was delicious, albeit a little messy; it would have been helpful to have a steak knife to cut through it, as half ended up on my lap. Long black was also great: rich, hot and flavorful. No milk needed! I'd love to return on a weekday and feel more comfortable lingering a bit longer. On this visit, I ate quickly and gave up my seat to someone in the long line of those waiting to be seated.

We snagged a seat outside on the warm winters day which was also a bonus - basically every seat in the place was nearly full. The menu is small for lunch, selection of salads, sandwiches etc and sourcing local ingredients. I was tossing up between a salad and the soup and by recommendation of the friendly girl behind the counter I chose the roast carrot and freekah salad. The food arrived fairly quickly, one ordered the hearty vegetable soup and another the roast pumpkin stack. I was really disappointed in my salad - it had no dressing or any flavours whatsoever. The freekah was bland, the salad greens were bitter and the carrot was just covered in fennel seeds. I added a tonne of salt and pepper but it didn't do much. My friend with the soup also had to add a large amount of salt to try and bring some flavour out. Apparently the pumpkin stack was good - the goats cheese look good on that. Overall I think it's not bad for breakfast but lunch might be a miss. Plenty more amazing spots closer to the market that might be more worth a visit

It offers exquisite food and service at cafe prices and the whole experience is amazing. The food here is made with locally grown, seasonal produce to ensure the freshest ingredients every time. This also means that the menu changes seasonally and will surprise you every time you visit. The Scrambled Eggs with Lobster Cream Jelly is a must-order dish! It's a very tasty dish with all the flavors intertwined without being overpowering and with just the right mix. The roasted butternut squash was also great with macadamia nuts and miso mayo. I'm not a big fan of butternut squash, but I thought it was delicious. One thing I really like about this place is that they have a beautiful garden. You can go for a walk there after your meal and experience it.

It was a little pricey, but I have come to expect that from this part of Adelaide. What put me off was that the staff, while not bad, certainly weren't the best. I certainly have experienced better customer service (though you can forgive people for having a bad day). However, what I really didn't like was the tea - it had a really acidic bite to it, which made me realise why I don't actually drink tea when I'm in Adelaide. However, it does depend on the place you go to, and this certainly wasn't one of those places.

In fact its almost like you're in a different restaurant. When I ate there I was on a protein / no carbs kicks so was able to indulge in their souvlaki which came not wrapped in break but open, on a plate served with salad, bread and dip on the side. There's a choice of lamb, chicken and prawn. I haven't tried the prawn but can vouch for both the lamb and chicken. It took me all my time not to eat the bread! I did indulge in a glass or two of a lovely rose but was assured by my friend there were no carbs in that!!?!! The meal was delightful and we finished off with some great coffee. The only drawback, and here's my familiar complaint, was the toilet that looked like it was from the sixties. At least it was clean. I would definitely give Café Luna Rosso a try and if you can, grab a seat in the courtyard.

'Big ups' to the guy with the glasses and the Blondie that work the weekends! I doubt I will stay in a Kurralta Park next time I'm in Adelaide because it's a bit of a hole but I'd make a trip over to have smashed avocado at F&F. At the moment Yelp is asking me to put some mustard on this review which is funny because I always love having mustard with my brekkies. There was no problem with this and they happily supplied me with extra condiments; seeded and Dijon. That's about all really. I don't know how much mustard I can possibly put in without it all turning into a review about mustard. The juices are amazing! Go to Froth and Fodder. Now I've apparently taken this review's pants off. Pretty soon it'll be naked. I'll end it here.
