I see a lot of comments about this place lacking service or food quality well HELLO it's cafe primo it's not highly end Italian food it's cheap and fast stop bitching. If you wanted high end go to Enzos Port Road this is cafe food. It served our group with a dinner movies deal and the service tonight was great and food tasted good. I can say I eat here again

The food was fairly tasty but the one big let down was the portion size of the mains. We ordered two different types of pasta and the portion sizes were what would pass as entrees in most Italian restaurants. Also the crab tagliatelle that we ordered was supposed to have chilli in it but there was no chilli obvious to the tastebuds nor the eye. One main concern was that they asked if we had the entertainment card during booking. Perhaps this was the reason for the small serving size? Do yourselves a favour and if you're asked the same question, say no (just in case). The dessert platter is a good one to try because for $22, it's a good way for 2 people to try a variety of desserts, although we couldn't get a spoon or fork through the meringue. Service was friendly and helpful at least! They also have an extensive wine list.

From the moment we walked towards the restaurant the owner said hello and greeted us, the staff were very friendly and helped with menus and the specials of the day. Service is quite fast and the selection of food is wide and the wine list is well thought out, we had several meals and everyone was very impressed with the food, taste and presentation. I has the Duck Raghu and I was impressed with the taste, my partner had a pizza which smelt fantastic from the other end of the table, all the other meals were very good. Each meal came out one at a time, this is a bit different to other places but I feel that this is the case because each meal is made and plated up fresh the moment it leaves the kitchen. There is also a good selection of cakes here and coffee is quite good too, if you are in the area and feel like good Italian I would highly recommend Anthonys.

Their pasta is lovely and usually what I get and their coffee is always a winner. They are now open for breakfast which makes them even better! Location wise, it's not the greatest, being on the corner is Sudholz and Lower Portrush but their is generally ample parking unless the tile centre is having a car park sale!! All in all, a winning cafe which I highly recommend. It's nice to have something like this that's local and doesn't require a trip into town. Lastly, they are quite kid friendly and will do their best to accommodate strollers. There are several high chairs available.

It was upon stepping into this modest looking deli with fluro lighting, 50s vinyl chairs and plastic tables, random cooking equipment scattered around and big, black and white pictures of beautiful Italians with "I love Napoli" written on them hanging on the wall that I felt like I had returned to a pizza shop from the mother land. Walk out through the kitchen to toilet at the back of the shop and you might trip on a bag of pizza flour on way but don't worry, the lino floors will protect your fall. Enough about the interior, that doesn't really matter. In traditional fashion, the star of the show is the hand made blackened pizza oven sitting in the middle of the shop serving up damn good WOG Pizza. We thought we'd be modest an just order one 12 inch Frutti di Mare (seafood) and a bottle of wine to share (funnily enough sipped out of those promo wine cups that you collect from various wine events and functions over the years). But after devouring this crispy based, sweet tomato sauce covered, melt in your mouth seafood pizza we decided we couldn't stop at one. The Truff Truff was next - a creamy, cheesy base of truffle oil, cheese, dried mediterranean herbs and more cheese. Forget manners, there's no forks or plates here and the owner really couldn't care less if you came in or not. He does what he loves and I think even if there were no customers in store he would be happy. The girls on the floor are friendly but really, who needs to make small talk when all you want to do is finish off 2 large pizzas in 30 minutes and then roll home?

Not salty or oily, with a very light airy wood oven crust topped with buffalo Di mozarella, prosciutto or whatever you like from the menu. Really enjoyed my first visit to The Italian Place today. Service was quick and efficient, and the…read moreprices of the food and drink was very competitive. They catered well for our large group, bringing orders promptly and not messing any of them up. The decor is very Italian delicatessan slash cafe and is just lovely. There's a huge range of foodstuffs for sale to take home as well as fresh baked breads, salads, pastries, deserts, savouries and more. There's also a fantastic Italian Vespa on display inside. The French vanilla flat white coffee I had was quite possibly the best I've had in a VERY long time, and at $3.40, cheaper than a lot of other places. I also tried the almond tart which was impossible to resist, and I was not disappointed, it was incredibly delicious and not overly sweet, just right. Overall, this is a great place for a coffee and cake stop, or even a coffee stop. And while you're at it, grab some fresh bread or other things to take home! I'll definitely be back.

Is it a bakery? Is it a delicatessen? Well yes but it's also a cafe/pizza bar!…read more Some Sunday nights (check FB for more details: https://www.facebook.com/TheItalianPlace) they host pizza nights and for $25.00 (yes, twenty five dollars) you get to sit among the shelves of pasta, tomato pieces and every type of pickled vegetable and enjoy antipasto (freshly sliced from behind the counter), pizza (all you can eat), dessert and coffee/tea. The all you can eat pizza is an unusual concept because you don't have to finish the pizza to get a new one. We ate a half a seafood pizza before moving on to another and finished half of that and the leftovers were put in a box for us to bring home! You don't really order anything its more of a "get what you are given" scenario which is good for us indecisive people because you don't have to agonise over the menu trying to make a decision. Desserts are baked in house and the snowflake/hazelnut one we had was amazing but again they just bring out whatever dessert they want and you just enjoy. To top is all off the house wine is pretty cheap so a very inexpensive night out!

Fast forward almost 20 years later (OMG!) and I'm doing the exact same thing. Okay, it's not via the PizzaNet website (I use EatNow), I'm not running Windows 3.1 and my iPad is considerably sleeker than Sandra's 15" CRT monitor, chunky CPU and dial up modem but the end result - pizza - is the same. My local purveyor is the Redwood Park Pizzeria. I've ordered online for pick-up four or five times, cash on arrival and there has never been an issue. The pizzas are well priced, with plenty of quality toppings. We usually go the Redwood Special and request no mushrooms or anchovies in the comments box. Not once has our pizza been befouled by dirty shrooms or stinky fish. However, the pastas, which we have only ordered once, have a lot of melted cheese throughout which was not popular with our guests and made for a lot of inedible leftovers. If I order pastas again, I will request they be cheeseless. Anyway, got to get off the Internet, Mum wants to use the phone and I have to change my ICQ status.
