Unusually, I am only giving Parade Thai 3.5 stars, when this is traditionally out-there amazing! Admittedly we visited Sunday night of a Monday long weekend, the first dat after the beginning of daylight savings AND the evening of an SANFL Grand Final. Perhaps not the best timing.
We booked an hour ahead to give them some warning & arrived post-rush at 7:45pm. A table was quickly reset for us but unfortunately it was out of eyesight of the waitstaff & consequently we waited slightly longer than normal for everything (& had to get up to ask for cutlery).
The food was hot, fresh & well-flavoured. Unfortunately our traditional favourite dish, Larp Moo (mince pork salad) had been overly flavoured with chili & what was usually a delicately balanced dish was over-powering for two of the four of us.
The mains were delicious: pad thai, hot beef, and market fish special. Again slight differences were found in each of the dishes from what we're served usually, hence we could only rate this visit 3.5 stars.
All in all it simply felt that we'd arrived on an off night. Perhaps it was a different Chef on, and we didn't recognise any of the waitstaff so these combinations likely had an effect. All in all, looking forward to giving Parade Thai another chance to Wow! us on another night when things aren't so out of kilter. read more
