A quick burger was all I needed here in Terminal A. Facing some delayed flight dilemmas, my nose naturally followed the smell of grilled meat coming from nearby Gate A25. Ah... here is the Twisted Root! The main thing that you're going to find here are gourmet burgers. Their menu consists of around eight different burgers to choose from including your standard cheese burger to some with more lavish ingredients. I spotted my Portabella Mushroom Swiss Burger ($9) and added a side of thick cut fries ($4) to complete my meal. They didn't ask how well you wanted your meat so I presumed that it'd be a medium across the board. My burger ended up being fairly basic but did hit the right spot in terms of hunger pains. My fries however were definitely over-salted, making them difficult to eat. I ended up throwing away half of my fries stash because my mouth had gotten incredibly dry by that point. So overall it's a decent burger if you're looking for one in Terminal A. I'd probably look for something else to eat the next time I have a long delay or layover in Terminal A. read more

We were looking for a good burger before our flight so we came to twisted root burger. It was delicious and Shenouda was very attentive to our needs! The place didn't even feel like it was in the middle of an airport. It felt like a nice sit down restaurant! read more

The food was awesome and so was the customer service. Thank you Shenouda for your great customer service.

This is great spot to grab a burger between flights. Prices are expensive but portions are generous. The burgers are fresh and tasty, and there are a lot of specialty burgers. read more

Shenouda was nice food was fast and yummy. Tables were clean too. Glad I picked this over McDonalds lol

Fast and fresh! I had a burger with bacon and Swiss with onion rings as the side. The bartender made an excellent spicy Bloody Mary. Shamoulah in the kitchen was cordial and friendly. The bartender Stephen was welcoming and efficient, funny and quick with service. read more

Great food great service! Shenouda was extremely helpful and courteous. Highly recommend!

I ordered cheddar fries with jalapeno. The order of fries were small like a side order and there were literally 4 jalapenos placed on top. Like seriously here guys. The cashier put much more on top for me. I had already given her a tip for having helpful customer service. I was under impressed with the fries mainly because I could taste the salt. There is salt in cheese. These fries definitely did not need salt. The portion side was small however the amount of cheese melted on top was pleasurable. I don't know that I would eat there again. It was horrible perhaps I'd try it again. read more

I'm always on the lookout for a turkey burger so I was very excited to see the Happy Pilgram burger here. It was delicious and a nice refreshing Yeungling (which I can't get in AZ) hit the spot while waiting for my flight home. The manager Sam was nice as were all of the staff here!! Highly recommend. read more

The veggie burger and fries were delicious - excellent service and the food came out very quickly!

I stopped in, and it was 5 minutes past breakfast time. However, the server Mariam told me it was ok and asked what sandwich I wanted. The order only took about 5 minutes and she delivered it to my table. Imagine my surprise when the sandwich was actually good tasting and was fresh. You don't always find great food at the airport, but if you are at DFW, stop in and them a try. read more

Turkey burger was fine. If they advertised that that was an option for all the burgers I think that would be a great option. The fries were pretty mediocre and not crispy at all. Overall looks better than the actual results. read more

A wonderfully friendly staff and incredibly accommodating for my complicated food allergies!!! I am on the Autoimmune Paleo Diet, and this is the only restaurant in the entire DFW airport that I was able to find food. They made me a super fresh lettuce wrapped burger with pickles and onions and it was a lifesaver, because I am also pre diabetic. I really appreciate their kindness, courtesy and understanding with my complicated special order. I was very happy to receive this outstanding service from Manager Sam, Nareem, and Louis. If you are on any variation of the paleo diet, this is THE BEST restaurant to find accommodations in the airport. It is located in terminal A. You can take the skyline train for free from any other terminal in the airport. It is very quick and easy to get to! read more

Atmosphere: Clean Came here because I had a 3 hr layover before my next flight. I was starving after a 4 hour flight and was in the search for some good food. Employees: The old man at the front was very rude in the way he spoke and was not friendly at all. He also didn't even look at us while taking our order he kept watching the tv and we had to keep repeating ourselves. He just wasn't interested in us at all and didn't hand us our change back just threw it down and walked away to watch tv but he was nice to the other old man sitting watching tv? We also had to ask for our own money back and he didn't even give us our drink cups we ordered we had to go back and grab it ourselves. And the old guy was just staring at us like it was wrong to grab a cup we should have been given. Food: The burgers were pretty pricy we got the western burger and it didn't even have any sauce just lettuce, tomato, meat, cheese, jalapeño. It was suppose to come with onion rings inside but instead they apparently gave us grilled onions we told them and they said they ran out of it. And then they forgot to add our bacon, We notified them and they just laughed, rolled their eyes and said they forgot as if wanting the correct order we ordered was such a big issue. And didnt even make the bacon fresh they grabbed what was sitting to the side. For the price your paying there for a burger should at least be made correctly. The 7-Eleven across the hall had better service than them. The meat was still juicy just a cold burger. I couldn't eat half of it just threw it away. Didn't want to complain for the money back, just know I would not recommend this spot to anybody. Overall: This is why I gave it one star, they ruined my whole wait at the airport and completely took my mood from in a great mood to completely low. I hope they learn to not treat people so bad and learn to be more kind. read more

A strong 3.5 meal! We were stuck in Terminal A when the hunger pangs hit and ended up here. While the menu is short, it's lovingly focused on what they do well - burgers - and even beckons to non-meat eaters in the crowd such as myself. The appropriately named Vegabond Burger was my choice for lunch, along with an order of straight cut fries. The generously-sized patty, formed from chickpeas, black bean, brown rice, and quinoa, was served on a hearty bun and topped with avocado mash and Sriracha sauce. Pluses? The burger tasted wonderful and the patty was especially impressive, with a seared crisp on the outside. On a slight downside, there wasn't enough binding and the patty completely fell apart before the first bite even made it to my mouth. Still, I suppose that's what spoons are for. The fries were fresh and had good crunch even in their lukewarm states at the end of our meal. Twisted Root loves its condiments and provides customers with a well-stocked pickle bar (four kinds! Who even knew there were that many?) as well as some free-flowing bottles of ketchup and housemade barbecue sauce. Customer service is just fine, though we had to wipe down the residual messes left behind on our table (and saw that several others had to do the same). So if you come, please be polite and clean up after yourself! I leave you with a fun fact - don't be surprised if your receipt bears the name of someone else. Orders are called up by the names of random celebrities. Where else can you be enchantingly mistaken for Beyoncé or Brad Pitt? Enjoy your nanosecond in the spotlight! read more

The food was delicious. My burger was cooked to perfection. Additionally, they provided for my allergies (gluten-free bun and dairy-free everything). Service with a smile and very pleasant. The atmosphere is a 1960's airport aesthetic with a touch of Texas. There's a great view of the runway beyond the bar. read more

Maryam is the worst. Short tempered and unhappy service. If you're not happy to give service, why work in service? Order was wrong (good thing we checked her work and manager David Tracy who is Awesome, fixed it). Here's the kicker why I'm leaving this review... She came around from behind the register to point at the tip option and stand there and watch your percentage pick!! Who does that!? At that point I picked 15% in hopes she doesn't spit in our food. At this point, it doesn't matter how good the food is. Thanks but no thanks. Manager David got the refund handled after Maryam tried to force us credit and to pick something extra. Just wow!! Good thing David was here. read more

We had an hour before our plane started boarding so we decided to have lunch at the Twisted Root Burger Company. Their burger menu looked amazing so it was difficult to make a decision. We decided to order the kevin bacon, the verde, the freshman 15 and the classic. All of the burgers were tasty but two of the four were horribly over cooked and extremely dry. We had to send them back and were grateful for the redo. My favorite burger was the kevin bacon. It is made with three pieces of bacon and danish blue cheese. The verde came in second. The guacamole, green chilies and pepper jack cheese was an awesome flavor combination. The loaded fries were so loaded that as it cooled it turned into a loaf. It was one big lump of fries, cheese and bacon. read more

Shenouda Alfy is friendly and helpful as manager, which is an exception for most food establishments in DFW airport. The food is good too, despite it being a chain restaurant. My only critique is the prices are way too high, but I guess that's what you get inside of airport security. read more

Fantastic pit stop before our flight. Shenouda was excellent and offered my partner free water to take her medications! Very thankful.

Shenouda was very helpful when ordering. He could tell that I was bummed out w a delayed flight and started cracking jokes. Food was delicious and came out in a timely matter! read more

I really, really wanted to like Twisted Root, but my burger was a disaster. The meat was BEYOND well done and came out super dry and tough. It was like eating cardboard. I threw out the burger after getting halfway through it and just ate the mushrooms and fries that came with the burger. The other significant issue was the lack of apparent organization or ability to deal with an ordering rush. For some reason they did not attend to my order until 20 minutes later - after 5-10 people behind me already got theirs. I didn't get anything special either - just the mushroom burger on their menu. I received repeated apologies from a young gentleman behind the counter, but apologies would have been a moot point if I was in a rush. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding this place. read more

Samia said there were only 3 burgers left when we arrived, but when we placed our order for a BIG Tex and Lotta Shrooms cooked medium (with pink!) she asked chef to make 2 PERFECT fresh ones!! Juicy, pink, and loaded with ALL the extras including brisket (!)....She also was not kidding that the onion rings were "theBEST"! Beats even what we can get in central Alabama. Thanks Samia, for a wonderful meal, at ANY price! read more

My experience was not at all what I expected. Let's start with the positive. Great location because it was conveniently located near my gate and the prize was reasonable. I arrived to my connection gate at 9 pm, I saw this restaurant and was attracted to eat here. When we arrived there were only 4 people waiting to order. The services looked rushed and disorganized, for some reason our order got lost and we waited about 18 minutes to be served and to top it off my order was missing the meat. By the time we got our orders corrected and served we had to rush and eat it (no time for picture). To be located in an airport that is not acceptable. Not a good experience at all. read more

Stopped here on a layover. Got the burger with onion rings and fries. Fries were done first and were cold when they came out. The burger was much better, but nothing special. The tables were quite dirty and we got out of there quick, but I guess it's superior to fast food or prepackaged options. read more

I've heard in passing, people mentioning Twisted Root Burgers. I never did however, hear what they thought about it. So when I was preparing to fly out of Dallas Fort Worth I noticed that there was a Twisted Root in terminal A of the DFW airport. This is my experience; The staff welcomed me, and was very friendly. As with most airport restaurants, it was a little rushed, but that was to be expected. I placed my order, and after inserting my credit card to pay the lady at the counter stepped around to the credit card machine, and asked me to choose one of the tip amounts above my total. I was a little surprised at this, and how it seemed to be the norm. I would have normally given a tip anyway, but this slightly rub me the wrong way. I did not let on and went ahead and chose the tip amount I preferred. When I received my food I was pretty underwhelmed. It was simply a burger patty with cheese on to dry buns. I had not noticed that condiments were not listed on the menu board. I expected it to come out with something at least on the side. I asked where I could find some mayonnaise, and was pointed to some containers of the highly processed goo. After preparing the burger the way I normally would I was expecting an amazing burst of flavor from the meat and cheese however, it was about the same as any other burger you get somewhere but twice the price. The fries were advertised as hand, punched whatever that means. They were simply a rendition of steak fries, and I am not sure they were anything other than frozen prior to being fried. In the end, I got a burger and fries with no drink for $20 and some change. My rating of Twisted Root Burger Company. Staff friendliness: A Staff tactics: D- Food : B- Price: C I'll try another location outside of the airport and see if there is any difference. I will follow up at that time. read more
